I would personally like to extend my most sincere gratitude to Jim Messenger of FamousAgents.com for all his help and support when assisting me in constructing our new real estate blogsite. I would also like to thank all of you out there that use our website and because of all you we hit an all time high in traffic in August 2007. In the month,the first fully month the site was live, the blogsite did an astounding 127,368 hits, 4,108 average hits per day which translates into an increase of approximately 100k hits. It was incredibly exciting to see those stastics come in and I almost did not believe it but September’s is looking just as promising so I will take it. (more…)

How to Read A Tax ID # in Snohomish County

Tax Parcel Numbers for Snohomish County The tax parcel number identifies a parcel just kind of like your social security number identifies you. The assessor is the one who assigns the tax ID number to the property and when an additional segregation is done on a property, the assessor is the one who assigns the new numbers. The assessor has appraisers who go out and appraise the property and then they assess a value and then whatever the rate of tax is in that area, they do the math with the value and you come up with the amount that’s due for the taxes. The treasurer’s job is to collect it. There are two types of tax numbers. There is one for platted land and one for unplatted land and that’s how the county specifies it—platted and unplatted. Snohomish County ’s 3rd Quarter 2007 lot sales have decreased 76% from the 2nd Quarter of 2007 and 84% since the 1st Quarters of 2007. This drop is a direct result of the current real estate atmosphere and builder fear that they will not be able to sell current inventory. Bodie Ghost Town

Traveling east on Highway 20, to the north Okanogan, and then north on County Road 9495 (Toroda Creek Rd) you will find the remains of Bodie. Established in the early 1900s, Bodie was a small mill town that processed ore that was taken from the surrounding mountains. Like the many of the ghost towns in Washington Bodie prospered until around the 1930s when Perkins Milling Company closed its doors. (more…)

Monte Cristo Ghost Town

On the Mountain Loop Highway (HWY 92), outside Granite Falls you can find the ghost town of Monte Cristo . Back in the day, Monte Cristo was a booming hub during the late 1800s because of rich mineral deposits. The mining town grew with the help of a railroad and financers like John D. Rockefeller. Once the mining operation slowed the town was slowly abandoned and now the stamping mills, power generator, an old garage and what is left of the Monte Cristo hotel. (more…)
