Artbyus Auction Venue 2007-11-29 12:33:00 Everyone has heard of ebay but it has become so huge that individual artists work can be hard to find. It is also expensive to list items. I prefer Artbyus as a more art friendly location for both buyers and sellers. I have some paintings listed at artbyus with starting bids as low as $35.00! "My Little Kitty" 5.5"x7.5" oil on gessoed watercolor paper. A daily painting from 2005.check it out and help contemporary self-representing artists continue to create art! Thanks for looking at my work!

Lake California diptych landscape oil painting 2008-03-08 13:49:00 Saturday has become a good day for painting outdoors, luckily for me. The 9x12" format had become a little boring, but I have quite a few of those panels and combining 2 into a 12"x18" has made it fun again. I feel my work has become more of a statement lately; a distillation of the facts into a story, not a photograph. yay! I think working larger helps with that. These panels are made of birch plywood and have a 3/4" cradle, sides will be painted and needs no frame. for sale, $225.00 usd free shipping in usaThanks for looking at my work!

recycle bin artfun 2008-02-23 18:11:00 Artwork from my recycle basket, in colors I have always liked together--black, white, red, yellow. Mixed media, packaging, marker, junk mail, fluted matboard, paste. It is my method to watch a movie or listen to an audiobook and just let the piece develop, snipping and pasting as called for. Free design, free materials, free fun. About 6"x9" plus the black mat. Thanks for looking at my work!

magenta and yellow acrylic painting 2008-02-17 19:39:00 Acrylic on canvas, about 12" square. I selected two colors, and inspired by a quilt I made years ago for my terminally ill daughter, played with brush and paint on a piece of linen. Not a piece made for market, but for my own pleasure and learning. I like acrylics! Thanks for looking at my work!

Self Portrait Collage 2008 2008-02-04 15:13:00 A self portrait in collage. It's challenging fun to create with cutting and tearing of various types of paper and layering. This is 12x16" on a pintura painting panel base painted with burnt sienna acrylic on rough watercolor paper. I used paper I have collected and found; didn't buy anything new for this project since lately I am concentrating on recycled art and craft projects. (not for sale)Thanks for looking at my work!

Collage garden with handmade paper beads contemporary artwork 2008-01-20 14:21:00 A collage using marbled paper
, linen, handmade
paper beads, scrapbook paper, rice paste and buttonhole twist thread. 8x10" on fluted black matboard.Although I did some planning before gluing, some of this is done on the fly, spontaneously. Every element affects every other element, moving one piece or changing size or shape seems to require adjustments in other areas and I really wanted to utilize the design on the beautiful gold metallic marbled paper as well. Sky, clouds, rocks, and a stream are represented by the background paper, so it's a very important design element.collage is really interesting artwork to create, I am having a great time with these! Thanks for looking at my work!

ALL*MART store illustration 2008-01-17 22:14:00 There is a really big *al-mart near my house, it's open 24 hours a day. There's one up the freeway north, and one going south also. It seems like *al-mart is all over, all the time. I shop there, as do many other people. I created an illustration to express the all-pervasiveness of wally's. it's all-verwhelming...black, white and red all over. Thanks for looking at my work!

Sunrise at cottonwood creek ranch, photo 2008-01-10 17:14:00 We have been having rain and wind here in Northern Cal; last week a series of powerful storms blew in and knocked out power, felled trees and generally made life difficult. I was fortunate to only be without power for a day; some of my neighbors lost theirs for 5 days. My niece has a woodstove, so my son and I spent the night at her place. Obviously the weather has not been conducive to outdoor painting, so I've been playing in photoshop and Fickr. Found some great tutorial ideas in the Photoshop support group and was able to improve some of my so-so photos. I'd forgotten what a treat it is to indulge in filter fun, and no calories, either! Thanks for looking at my work!
