Doodle Fish
2007-11-15 07:01:15
Sometimes when I’m in a conference, I need to do something with my hands while listening. There are only so many notes that you can take. With the spotlight on businesses being environmentally friendly lately (and rightfully so), one of the conference speakers was talking about Sustainable Supply Chains and this was the image that popped on to my pad. I don’t have the creativity of McGlinch or Chewy, but I thought it was cute! Share This

Did Getting Organised Kill My Blog?
2007-11-14 06:24:41
I think it did - at least temporarily… as it seems that I am only putting things on my to do list that seem reasonably important. Now I know that a lot would argue that blogging is important, however I feel that I may have let it get in the way of a number of other items, like selling off some stuff on eBay, work (ooops), talking to people (like my husband), and just life in general. So while I have been neglecting this small yet important part of my life, I am sure that over the next two weeks a space will be cleared so that I am able to blog again - productively, at a healthy pace, and without sacrificing the rest of my life. It also means that I can be a little bit more focused… and I’ve introduced other tools into my arsenal that will allow me to maintain some of the regular features that I implemented back in May-July, which have fallen by the wayside. I do have a question for everyone, however… do you blog at the expense of anything?  Share This

Tuzki - please give me a Motorola Q9?
2007-11-26 03:46:09
I saw this phone in Starhub the other day while shopping for a new phone to replace the one I thought I lost, and with this I could be convinced to switch to Motorola . It is Windows-based and it’s just like using a PC. It has MSN on it, and a QWERTY keyboard, and BIG screen, as well as spreadsheet, PDF and Word applications, so that if I really need to do work, then I can manage some document reading as well… although it’s mainly a fun gadget - and the sales rep had to wrestle it off me in the showroom!! I also liked the Camera (2 megapixel) - my current phone only has 1.3 and I FEEL IT! This phone plays music, and is just a really cool phone to have on the go in Singapore, where you can be connected to the internet all the time with Starhub’s MaxMobile unlimited plan, which I have. It’s so kewl, and I want one!!!!! Check out the little guy (Tuzki) at the Motorola website and Nuffnang - please give me one!!!! Pretty please??? Share This

G - Getting Bigger
2007-11-25 20:11:58
Just checked my email this morning, and hadn’t noticed how big Gmail storage had gotten lately. Sheesh - how will I fill all that? The funny thing about that, is we used to say that when hard drives were 170Mb… how on earth would we fill all that space! Share This

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE IN TRINIDAD
2007-11-23 23:46:02
(AND GET THEM TO ACTUALLY COME)! Andre` Lashley of Diego Martin, Trinidad was going up to bed when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. Andre` opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked is someone in your house?’ and he told them no. Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available. Andre` said, ‘Okay,’ hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. ‘Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don’t have to worry about them now cause I’ve just shot them all.’ Then he hung up. Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Lashleys residence. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

Want New Music??
2007-11-23 20:38:02
Are you tired of the same old music? Feel like you need something new to shake that booty to? Need new notes to recline and relax to? There are a few web sites that will take the artists and songs that you like and recommend other music that you might like. These are the ones that I use: last.fm You can browse for the artists and songs that you like. You can then click on the ’stations’ and listen to other music like that artist. You must be connected to the internet to listen to the music - it is streamed through your browser or through a piece of free software which you can download and install on your PC. Either way, I find it a good way to discover new music based on my tastes. Music Trails Enter in the artist/band name and it will look up a couple of music sites and recommend other bands. It then has links to YouTube where you can view videos of the bands that you are being recommended. Enjoy music in your life? What do you listen to? Share This

Australia Votes!
2007-11-22 22:54:41
Australia has compulsory voting, so while you are registered on the electoral roll, it is a requirement that you go to a polling station and vote, or submit a postal vote. If you need information on how to vote, the following are the most useful reporting on it that I can find from a distance, and voting in Singapore can be done at the Australian High Commission today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday - Polling Day). Note that you will need to leave a piece of ID at the guard post, and you are expected to surrender phones and cameras (especially phones with cameras). Bandaids
2008-03-11 02:32:15
Flynn staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Paddy. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Nancy. He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around [...]

Walking into the bar, Mike said to Charlie the bartender, ‘Pour me a stiff one - just had another fight with the little woman.’ ‘Oh yeah?’ said Charlie, ‘And how did this one end?’ ‘When it was over,’ Mike replied, ‘She came to me on her hands and knees. ‘Really,’ said Charles, ‘Now that’s a switch! What’s the best thing about chicken rice?
2008-03-07 23:40:14
There is one thing to note when asking about the average Singaporean’s favourite dish: chicken rice. Warning: generalisations ahead - and I know it’s not the same for everyone, however I’ve noticed some patterns in chicken rice consumption… You can ask many Singaporeans… and the answer will be uncannily common. The best thing about chicken rice is [...]

Pedestrians vs. Catholics
2008-03-07 01:16:04
Paddy was in New York He was patiently waiting and watching the traffic cop on a busy street crossing. The cop stopped the flow of traffic and shouted, ‘Okay, pedestrians.’ Then he’d allow the traffic to pass. He’d done this several times, and Paddy still stood on the sidewalk. After the cop had shouted, ‘Pedestrians!’ for the tenth [...]

Questions About Australia
2008-03-15 02:33:55
This list was purportedly posted on an Australia n Tourism Website and the answers are the apparently actual responses by the website officials, who obviously have a sense of humour. We’ve all heard about people having guts or balls. But do you really know the difference between them? In an effort to keep you informed, the definition for each is listed below… Guts - is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and having the [...]

Bunnings Scam - Australian Users
2008-03-18 00:46:46
WARNING - AUSTRALIAN CONTEXT I’m not usually one for posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close call yesterday. I walked into Bunning’s Hardware at lunchtime, wandered down the timber aisle and some old fart dressed in a red shirt with a green apron on asked me if I wanted decking. Fortunately, I got the [...]
