Imelda Collection 1970-01-01 00:59:59 This 77 year old, glamorous as she may be, used to be First Lady of the Philippines! Until her husband was named a dictator, she was famous for her extravagant shopping trips to New York, her tiaras, and, most famously, for her 1, 500 pairs of shoes!Anyway, she is now launching her own jewellery collection, which is meant to be affordable. They go on sale on the 18 November, and prices will start at £10.These pieces will be made from recycled jewels and her own jewellery that she no longer wants or something! She has also been shopping in markets for trinkets and accessories to add onto her Imelda
Collection, which is nice to know! She then combines her finds with vintage brooches etc. to create her unique Imelda Collection.Groovy baybay, that is what I say!

Flats vs. Heels 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Recently, I have been contomplating the difference between Flats
and Heels
.Here are my thoughts:FLATSGood Points- Come in literally thousands of styles- Can be dressed up or down- Are comfy- Can be pretty or rough- Go with everything- Look good on everyoneBad Points- Can't walk far in them, it starts to hurt- Sometimes come off- Can be ruined very quickly- If plastic, get scuffed and rip easily- Don't always look sophisticated enough for certain eventsHEELSGood Points- Can make your legs look sky-high- Are very sophis- Come in loads of varying styles- Can be dressy or worn to workBad Points- Bad for your posture (allegedly)- Don't suit everyone- Can look foolish on those of the younger generation, ie. me- Can't walk far in them, especially as- They are hard to walk in generally- Not always comfy, even with Party Feet- Break, every girls nightmare, according to those who are old enough to wear themSo, from these observations, I can safely say that, to me, Flats are the best option,
Justin Giunta. 1970-01-01 00:59:59 JUSTIN GIUNTASpecializing in tribal beads in a 'tangle', as it were, and pearls all messed about, Justin
Giunta is inspired by the ninteenth- century, and his love of saftey pins.Simeone Codognato, a ninteenth-century Venetian jeweler, known for his intricate and beautiful layers, is Giunta's favourite designer, and he draws from Codognato's use of layering to help create his one-of-a-kind pieces. He went from selling his pieces on the street, to selling them in two boutiques - Amy Chan and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, in, he says, '45 minutes'.A firm believer in pearls, Justin Giunta says that the monochrome trend is the one to watch of spring 2007.He one day dreams of collaborating with Galliano, Manolo Blahnik or Viktor & Rolf, in fashion, while he wants to keep up his jewelery and painting, from which he began...THE WORKSHOP'WATERING THE FLOWERS' OIL ON PAPERRECENT NECKLACE
Vogue's 90th Anniversary Edition 1970-01-01 00:59:59 This December's issue of Vogue, is like no other I have ever witnessed! It is beautiful beyond belief, and truly faulous! The cover in itself is a work of art, 90 carefully selected covers from the Vogue archive, on a four page fold-out cover! It is the longest edition I own, and the heaviest...I bought it yesterday from a street vendor, and he was a big butch dude. He virtually staggered under its weight, and, being a nice man, gave me a cool and stylish Independant bag! I will treasure it till the day I die, and always remember that I bought my 90th Anniversary

Fake Tweedy-ness Abundance 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I am not entirely sure whether that is the corrct word to describe it, tweediness, by there you go.Surely you must have noticed it, the fake tweed sensation that is sweeping the nation!?!Today, I had a truly terrible day at school. Firstly, we had a Latin test which I had forgotten about, then I had detention, and then, just as I was leaving school, a whole posse of year sevens, rich wannabe chavs I assume, chavved their way past me in their stupid fake tweed coats, and stupid massive backpacks. This normally frustrates me, but 5 or 6 of them, after all that had already occured was a bit hard to take. And then, as I was shuffling home to have mor fun trying to revise Spanish, some stupid woman in a fake tweed coat shoved past me as I was being gloomy on the escalator, and that was really it! I almost had a fit, but managed to contain myself, and instead I went for a bit of theraputic window shopping, which actually also ended up depressing me, as there was this really nice coat, that Read more:Abundance
Indie Rock and Roll 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Today, I went to the I COUNT event in Trafalgar Square with a few friends, which is campaining against climate change. At the event were people like Simon Anstell, Miranda Richardson and even RAZORLIGHT played a short set!I had a really good day, but as I was looking around the crowd of about 10, 000 people, I couldn't help but notice how many teenage girls there were there wearing skinny jeans, Converse sneakers and oversized jumpers/sweater dresses. Also, an extraordinary amount of them were dressed 'indie' style, sort of, not really following a fashion trend, but following the 'indie' fashion trend if you get my meaning. So as we were rocking along to RAZORLIGHT and some people called Crocodile Style (a samba-esque band) I was contomplating the whole trend fiasco, and basically, what I was wondering is, can you ever really NOT be following a trend. If you try to dress different and with you own style, you are following the trend of people who have tried to create their own st Read more:Indie

Todays Purchases 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Right, well, today I went shopping in Covent Garden before walking to Traffy S for the I COUNT fandango. Anyhoo, I stopped off in H & M along the way and look at what I got...JEANS ~ £14.99A little saggy round the arse area, but anything smaller than 10 fits around my bum, but is faaaaaaaar too short on the leg, and I'd rather be saggy than wear peddle-pushers!TOP ~ £7.99I find it rather groovadelic the pattern of beads upon the grey-ness...it is fatastic, and it is rather excessivly long, so I can wear it over footless/complete tights on its own (in warmer weather) and not look like a bag lady, as I did today...but that's another story!

Celia Birtwell Returns With A Vengance! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I have just found out a remarkable yet true thing, Celia
Birtwell has signed to do another lot of stuff for Topshop. Last April, the wife of Ossie Clark's vintage print dresses and blouses caused a sensation when Topshop commissioned her to design a line of clothes for them, now, the shop that is top wants MORE! Methinks crowds larger than before outside of the Oxford Street flagship store on November 20 and 27, and maybe even the rationing of two items a head as was put into place in the good old days of April 2006!Last time, Kate Moss was spotted wearing one of the coveted designs, and you know, if Mossy approves, it must be good!SOME OF CELIA BIRTWELL'S PREVIOUS DESIGNS FOR TOPSHOPOOH, the excitement! Cate Blanchett in Vogue 1970-01-01 00:59:59 In November's American Vogue, Cate Blanchett
says that she thought that when she had finished filming 'Elizabeth' in 1998, that that would be the end of her acting career. Far from it, after starring in over 30 films, her career is hardly at its end.She has just finished filming Notes On A Scandal with Judi Dench, Bill Nighy and Juno Temple.CATE IN DIOR, VERSACE AND GAULTIER COUTURE, AMERICAN VOGUE, NOVEMBER 2006 Read more:Cate Blanchett
Celia Birtwell Returns...again! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Right, I have been anticipating, with mixed feelings, the new Celia
Birtwell for Topshop collection, but I have just, this very second found out that it is arriving on November 20, this very next Monday, the same day as Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is coming out, that day is going to be gooood!--------------------------------------------------------------------------SOME MORE TOPSHOP NEWS--------------------------------------------------------------------------Late night shopping...On Monday, about midnight actually, Michael Jackson was given a late night tour of the Topshop Oxford Street store, by the BOSS, Sir Philip Green. The two met for dinner at Nobu in Park Lane, and 'hit it off', so the BOSS decided, "I know, I'll show Michael Jackson around my baby", so he did. They were greeted by a tonne of paparazzi and fans, and Michael Jackson (freak-man, if you ask me) had a small armful of jackets and shirts, which I think very restrained of him, seeing as that is possibly, the mothers Read more:Returns

Coco Ribbon 1970-01-01 00:59:59 As I made my daily tour of the Vogue website, I happened upon the news that Coco Ribbon
was closing down.Unfortunately, that had absolutely no effect on me, as I had never in my long days heard of it, however, as a charitable being and the like, I decided to aller over to their site of webness and I am actually rather pleasantly surprised. For one thing, one store is on Sloane Street, and so thus satisfying my love of all things sloaney (I love them with a passion that burns through my heart like fire), also, I am a complete and utter sucker for great packaging, so I aime this tres much.Infact, so taken with the little cashmere gloves was I, that I have actually added it to my link list, so go on, KNOCK YOURSELVES OUT!Because of my passinoate love of packaging (as well as those of the sloaney nature) I have also become a complete follower of Pout cosmetics and Benefit (also in the links, what can I say, I love it!)I dunno what gets me, but it is like food that looks good - you want to e
What Do You Think Of Leopard Print? 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I have been quietly developing a fetish for LeopardPrint
, as I illustrated when I spent at least a day searching for the perfect pair of Leopard Print Pumps.Anyway, I was wondering on what the lovely general public think of leopard print...At the moment I own a rather worrying amount of leopard print...stuff...- Pumps- Scarf- DressWhich I couldn't find photos of- Socks- Tights- Footless Tights- Clutch- Armwarmers (?)A bit of this was purchased for me on my birthday, but ashamedly, I was the one purchasing most of the above! And, yes, most of this is from Topshop, and this accounts for the loss of money i have been recently experiencing!
Tights, a thing of beauty 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Recently, I've been developing strage and un-nerving obsessions with things, that frankly, need not be an obsessivity-stimulant.First it was pants, and now it is tights.I've got them in every colour under the sun, apart from mauve and pale pink, and all the colours I said I wanted in my post about the Juicey Couture ads.But whatever, enough of what I haven't got, lets get onto what I have got!MY TIGHTS COLLECTION INCLUDES THOSE OF A:-red-black-green-blue-brown-white-grey-leopard print-weird gold-esque-pink leopard printNATUREas well as others, which I am ashamed to own...You cannot tell me that you do not find these attractive...Exactly! Quilting... 1970-01-01 00:59:59 ...so NOT a thing of beauty.I am sorry, but am I the only one in the world who finds this fashion-fetish-ment hideous??How can it be thoguht of as 'cool', or whatever, you will just end up looking like a big sleeping bag! ie. FOOLISH!!!!Urgh! It is actually foul.Sorry if you invented quilting, or whatever, but seriously...just YUK!So I've picked the most foul off the Topshop website, but seriously, jut what are they meant to BE???
This Week's Website Musings 1970-01-01 00:59:59 So, as I browsed the lover-ly thang, I like to call the WORLD WIDE WEB, I found a few vintage sites of which slightly interested my hyperactive brain...nadiascloset.co.uk~a wide range of vintage clothes and so forth, to buy or just look at!absolutevintage.co.uk~right, this is actually a fave, so will be going into my links list, but what the hey...on the site you can browse their wide selection of products, and, on the shoes bit you can search for shoes in your size, which is helpful! also, all the shos are around the £15 mark, which is impressive to say the least.bellasvintagejewelrybox.com~a massive selection of vintage rings, bracelets and other such things. all quite reasonably priced considering their age, and all picked by a v. finely tuned eye, so all the stock is worth looking at!etsy.com~ a fantastique site, where anyone can buy or sell handmade items, stumbled upon whilst whiling away the hours reading Style BubbleThat is all, for now, but be warned, expect great things...S Read more:Musings
Yes, FINALLY! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I've been scouring the shops for weeks now looking for a dress to wear for my friend's BatMizvah (spelling?) and to wear to the party of my uncles wedding (you can't expect me swish around till 5 in the morning wearing a big poofy red...thing?)Anyway, I started with some of my favourite vintage places - Beyond Retro, Portobello Market - then I tried a few highstreet stores - H & M, New Look (I was trying to keep away from Topshop because of my recent spending spree there, which caused me to go over my bank budget) - but all the dresses lacked a little je ne sais quoi, which I need to be happy.Anyway, all yesterday I was in Oxford Street with my pals, mainly to buy dresses for the upcoming party season, I am sorry, but 13 parties = 13 new dresses, that is what I keep telling my mother, but she will not listen to me, HOARDER! (not just clothes, but money!)Well, they were all happily scurrying around Topshop, arms full of fabulous dresses, while I sat outside the changing rooms reading
My Mother : The Hoarder 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Yes, she has got a dragon-like temper, and no she doesn't smoke out her nose (as far as I know), but my mother is most like a dragon, in the fact that she HOARDS.In SECRET, which is never a good thing, as I have to trespass into her room to get my hands on what I want......as far as I can see, all this is remainders from the days when she ran a textiles stall in Portobello Antiques Market, and thus vintage, and thus I like. I've been rifling through her photo-albums, and I've found photos of her in flying-suits, tunics and various other things of which I am thus lacking. Ransacking the spare room cupboards and drawers has shown me that loads of the good stuff must have been left behind when we moved last year, and, I'll tell you this for free, I'm bloody annoyed! From what I've found, I cannot tell you a single designer, as, in a fit of hippie-ism, of which my mother is famous for, she cut out all the labels, to make a statement about designers and labels etc.Which is fine, if
Absolutely Fabulous 1970-01-01 00:59:59 True, Eddie's style of dress is not, how shall I put it, umm...good, but Patsy, although, sometimes rather odd, can sometimes be fantastic!Recently I've been stocking up on videos from charity shops, and she wears trench coats, slim-fit jeans, wedges, platforms, mannish style suits, pencil skirts and printed tees. She is generally fantastic, and not to put Eddie in the corner, she has fabulous cheekbones! Comme de Garcons 1970-01-01 00:59:59 As I was browsing style.com, I came across something which has been haunting me for AGES now. I have this friend, who is actually properly obsessed with Comme de Garcons, and is always trying to make me go to Dover Street Market so we can go and look at their stupid painted...things!Anyway, just now, I thought I'd have a look, maybe they will have changed their minds etc. ...Oh how wrong I was, they have not improved at all, but now they have a few things which look alright from afar, but on closer inspection are almost as hideous as everything else!THE VILE CLOTHESNICE, BUT HIDEOUS ON CLOSER INSPECTIONAnd, it was all the same, all red netting, red spots and other equally annoying things!Just generally, I am as pissed off with Comme de Garcons as I was before, perhaps even more, because I thought that at least they were original, but now it turns out they have ONE idea that they just change slightly over and over and over and over again! And just one other thing, when did socks and sa
Couture...doesn't always let me down! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 A few days ago I posted some pictures of Cate Blanchett in last months American Vogue. In the shoot, she wore some of the major designers couture for this season.Last night, as I watched Children in Need, I was pondering Comme de Garcons, and I drew the rather obvious conclusion that the are meant to be 'couture', however, unfortunately, it is rubbish couture.Surfing the internet for some inspiration, I found some photos of this seasons couture, and I must say I was tres happy with what I saw!VALENTINOOk, so it kind of takes away from the traditional idea of couture being outrageous, and something you would not wear out, but to be quite frank, I don't care, it is beautiful!Working the bubble look thangBig poofy shoulders = my kinda thing! And this feeds my growing obsession with coats that are far too expensive for my budget to stretch to!ELIE SAABI find myself drawn to these slightly oddly designed dresses...JEAN PAUL GAULTIERHere it gets slightly more outrageous, but what else wou Read more:Couture

Celia Birtwell Returns...3 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Yestermorn, was the morn of great anticipation for many a young lass, these lass's inluded me. The reason was this, the new Celia
Birtwell collection for Topshop was launched on that morn. However, due to the problem of school, I could not be with the great crowds who gathered themselves outside Oxford Street Topshop, but I was there in spirit......anyway, in the end I was glad I didn't bother to skip school and haul my bum AAALLLL the way to Oxie. The simple reason for this is that frankly, no offence Celia B, but that collection stinks, there is not one single thing there which intrests me...long sleeve checked blouse with a tie neck and gathered waistshort sleeved print blouse with cut-out back detail.Celia Birtwell
, ex-partner of designer Ossie Clark, collaborated with the Topshop designers to create the collection, but to be quite honest, they let me down, they really did, and thay didn't revive any of my fave (love that word, fave) prints, which make me so happy!Boohoo, is my Read more:Returns

History IS Cool, Whatever YOU may say! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 The other day, as I wandered home from school by way of the street and then tube (it's nearly the holidays, so I had no reason to RUSH home in a stressed frenzy...who cares about GCSE's anyway?!), I had a London Lite literally THRUST upon me. ( I don't usually take them, as their appalling spelling irritates me) Lucky I don't have a very volatile temperament, as the Polish dude would have otherwise suffered a severe yell-at.Anyway, as I moodily flicked through to the fashion pages, I spotted Ewan McGregor, at the premier of Mrs Potter, wearing SPATS!WOOHOO I thought, and decided I love him (I used to only like him). So, anyhoo, after this, I've been thinking a lot about ye olde shoes, not seen for many-a-year, and looking through my beautiful magazines, and I find myself craving a pair of the following...(quite sim. to Ewan McGregor's)(I'm sorry. but who would NOT want these? unless you were a man...from Sofia Coppola's 'Marie Antoinette'.)------------------------------------ Read more:History
White T-shirt update 1970-01-01 00:59:59 In one of my previous posts, I was baffledd by the fact that nowhere in Londinium had a MASSIVE white t-shirt, but today, in the sight of this congregation etc. I stand corrected. From now on, Gap is my favourite store. From the Men's Wear department, XL white tee, £8.Bargain? I think so!Howsoever, it is a tad short, because my bum is not what I would call small, so it takes up quite a bit of the material! But, never fear, I'm looking on Yahoo! Answers to see if anyone in the wide world knows a way to stretch a tee. Goodness moi, I'm too resourceful for my own good! Read more:White
More Anger On Padded...things! 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Been away for ages, but am back, with nothing more interesting to say than this:I hate padded 'clothes'.In Topshop yesterday, in the sale they has those crazy padded fabric boot things
for like no money, and there were PILES, literally, of them, which leads me to believe that I am not the only one who hates this foul 'trend'.Also, in H & M, usually a haven of greatness (apart from their foolish website, which I still cannot get my head around), they had racks and racks and racks (et cetera) of nasty purple, sheeny puffa jackets, for £4.99, so if anyone wants a purple puffy thing, go to H & M!Good night and good luck (you crazy puffy things)
Next Obsession 1970-01-01 00:59:59 HATS.I did not realise how great they are! Recently I've been getting loads, and loving it!I stole one of my grandad's flat tweed farmer caps, and am happily parading round London like a fool. It's very similar to this one actually:Also, recovered one of my mother's OLD knitted berets from her youth, as she nostalgically likes to call it!For Christmas I was given a 'dusky purple' knitted beanie style thing, which is very warm, even if it does give me pancake hair, I don't care, because I look, COOL (hehe)As well as these, I salvaged a fascinator, straw hat and bow thing from my gran, and a strange but great tweed trilby from my great uncle!God, I love having helpless old relatives who are too slow to catch me after finding me stealing their hats!Byeeeeeee Read more:Obsession
We thought it was all over.. 1970-01-01 00:59:59 ...until we tried on the white t-shirt from Gap, Men's, XLIt was massivly wide, but was virtually normal length, just a tad longer than usual. So, in an angry state (it was £8, and that is a lot for me), I went shopping, and in a George, I found white t-shirts for £1.50. You cannot imagine my happiness as I sat in the car with my size 22 white t-shirt (still in it's plastic envelope thing. But once out, I realised it was an exact facsimile of the one from Gap! My anger was great, but my friend's cute little sister tried to help by stretching it, not much happened I am afraid, apart from a small hole where it ripped. So, when I was out yesterday, sad as I was, I was newly hopful, with my Christmas money in my hot (actualy it was freezing, and raining, and crap weather) little hand, I entered H & M, and lo, it came unto me, a long, but thin white t-shirt with some crazy-but-cool painting o it, and happiness overwhelmed me as I purchased said item for £10.
