Engineers are awesome…at creating chaos 2007-08-12 20:51:00 Engineers are problem solvers. They have unlimited potential and use in the world, as there is always a new vision, a new dream to fulfill, and as such, challenges and work ahead. That’s the good part. Too bad they can’t communicate to each other worth a shit. Engineers in training…better yet, college students ‘trying’ out engineering, begin to harness the attitude that they are better than everyone else. Consider the following examples. In the math world, the logarithm function is written as log x, assuming a base of 10. The natural logarithm, with a base of e, is written in ln x. This was before I went to school in UCLA. Once I started my first math class there, Math 32A, the professor there, Yutao He, proclaimed that the natural log be written as log x. The regular, base 10 version would be written as log10x. He claimed that the ‘educated’ write it as log x, whereas the ‘unwashed masses’ wrote it as ln x. So let me get this, after years of learning Read more:Engineers

I love my job, i think?? 2007-08-06 23:17:00 Ah, the fruits of my labor after slaving away to get Bachelor's in electrical engineering. A job that pay well below the norm for living in the Bay Area. A field that I have no interest in, which was the only thing I could determine after getting that degree. The field is RF Engineering, in cell phone network design. It's just a fancy name for a cube job. I'm surrounded with h1-b visas coworkers whom, whether I like it or not, are the reason for my low pay. Its not like they have it any better...they have a Master's degree from India yet they are starting with low pay such as 44K. Not to mention they had to the horror (i mean experience) of doing drive testing. Drive testing is the act of collecting cell phone coverage by hooking up big bulky contraptions to a laptop, along with a GPS, which is stored on a van. Drive testers don't get paid overtime. Equipment fails very often or at least needs recalibration. You are assigned to drive a large area of streets. If you d Read more:think
An episode of passive aggression? you decide 2007-08-17 15:01:00 I live in a family where the men don't close bathroom doors when we need to piss. It's a quick thing and it's not like we have anything to hide. When I was living in the apartments during college, one of my roommates didn't like that 'openness'. One day he decided to try something. Something I didn't like. I supposed i could have verbalized my disagreement with his actions. But I didn't. I guess I like to be creative. So instead of saying it with words, i will show my terrible cartooning skills and draw what happened that fateful day...EDIT: DAMMIT I CANT FIGURE HOW NOT TO MAKE THE PIC LOOK BLURRY!!! you'll have to click on it.
Origin of my college tshirt design 2007-08-28 17:32:00 The story behind one of my tshirt design
s as mentioned in my first post.
I thought about all the influences with college: government assistance,
media coverage, and parental. I thought unless your parents saved up, you graduated with a truckload of debt, doubly so if you considered going to graduate school. If you're lucky, you had federal subsidized loans, which simply meant the loan didn't gain Read more:Origin
My Stupider Half, a parody of Eminem's Guilty Conscience 2007-09-17 02:00:00 I'm not sure how this went down. Juan and I were talking about Eminem
, as an interest in rap was something he was able to brainwash me into. But you were probably able to figure that out already from my previous post. I guess we must have also been talking about boring life shit, and it just hit me that it would be awesome to make an Eminem parody
of his song "Guilty
Conscience". Next

foray into freestyle, or rap as them young'uns call it 2007-09-14 23:42:00 Flash back to 2005.
It was a fairly unproductive day at work. By that I mean I almost dozed off in my fake leather office chair while checking my work email. My friend Juan and I were just learning about facebook. On that site there is a text form called a wall where anyone can write on it, but the owner of the profile can change what was written on it. Juan decided to add a twist to the Read more:young
Very realistic insect and animal origami 2007-09-08 19:30:00 I used to be very into origami
as a kid. It was hard to fit in between getting punched in the arm, being chased by girls during recess, and lifting up those same said girls' skirts when I got close enough, but it was worth it (the time for origami, not the skirt lifting). But I digress...
Origami is Japanese for paper folding. Usually the models are folded with square pieces of paper, and are Read more:insect
How to make an easy 20 dollars a month 2007-09-06 00:14:00 I joined a mail panel program about a year ago. While it may not be fast, it is a real easy way to make money. While $20/month is chump change, it's so easy to participate in this program that this is way better than getting nothing. Go to

Leave the terrible puns to the Chinese, please...or to Rush Hour movies I guess 2007-09-28 17:38:00 I was at lunch, exploring a new area a co-worker had recommended. Whenever I see a new plaza of restaurants, I always like to hop in and get their take out menu. Why? Because I like to be prepared next time I try the new restaurant. Then I saw this in the distance.
What's a wok? It's a type of cooking pan. Anyways, stupid pun, aside, what kind of restaurant calls them them self "What's up." Read more:Leave

New tshirt design! From cleaning out the fridge 2007-10-04 17:56:00 It's been pointed out by my friends and family that I have a limited palette of facial expressions. I immediately thought of a cartoon board that had a bunch of exaggerated facial expressions. I was thinking about where I can get that on the internet. Then it hit me that what I was looking for was on my damn refrigerator. It was a magnet sticky thing, and it was dirty. Here's what it looked Read more:design
Do unto the cat as it does unto the rat 2007-10-19 12:35:00 My house has a front and back yard, so I get plenty of cat visitors. There is one frequent visitor that likes to stare into the lawn, waiting to catch a rodent. I'll leave it alone if it's doing that, since I figure it is doing something productive. But sometime I'll mistake it's curled up stance as a dozing off one, so if that lazy cat is sleeping on my lawn, then I'll harass like it just like
Passive Aggression and Cats 2007-10-19 11:28:00 This story at www.dailymail.co.uk caught my interest (original link here):
Mystery of the cat-napper who takes neighbours' pets... and dumps them 25 miles away
By JAMES MILLS and NICK McDERMOTT
When their cats started to disappear mysteriously, the residents of Bramley Crescent were understandably puzzled and distressed.
Desperate for their return, they handed out hundreds of leaflets and put Read more:Passive

Eye would rather be a different kind of spy 2008-01-17 02:16:53 I tried out a Mystery Shopper program a friend recommended. Well it's not really a Mystery Shopper program, it's just a similar thing for evaluating restaurants. In exchange for the company reimbursing you for your meal (excluding tip, those cheapasses :/ ), you submit a rather long essay on your experience at the restaurant. By long I mean you have to cover everything--from the atmosphere, to Read more:different
