That's gonna leave a nice dent in the next year's month's pay.Apparently Dave Stolte went over to Europe with thinking that he was safe under the EDGE network's plan for pay-per-use international roaming charges. Instead, there was some mix up in the pricing scheme, and got slapped with this horrendous bill.That's a lotta texting. He actually brought it to Europe in lieu of a laptop, so he could perform his work while connected to wi-fi or just using the EDGE network, so i could see why he used it a lot.All is good tho, as ATT cleared up the mix-up, and did not bill him the money, so yay! Man Blames Cat For Shooting Gun, Itself 2007-08-12 00:28:59 Story! A man in New Hampshire is now being charged with a felony of Reckless Conduct after saying that his cat shot itself.What. The. @#!$.His original story was that the cat had accidently fired a shotgun when it knocked it over, hitting it with a slug. Police were not so sure on the story, so they kept on pressing him until he told the truth. He gave up, saying he was messing with the hammer when it slipped and fired.The cat had to be put down due to its injuries, sadly, and there was a hole from the shotgun blast in the man's wall. I was driving in my car, with the windows up, when i came to a stop light. All of a sudden i see a horse and buggy with some Amish coming from across the street.And they have samurai swords.I can really only see the woman, all dressed up in her summer dress and hair bonnet, with a samurai sword poised at me. They drive(?) right past my window, and i lose sight of them. I hope that they don't come back.All of a sudden i head a slam, and there is the woman, slamming the samurai sword down on the top of my car. I see her through the sunroof, her face intense with hatred for modern electronics. Riding the coattails of LEGO news earlier in the week , LEGO turned 75 today, and has been wowwing children and children at heart for that entire span.Why has a company like LEGO managed to pull constant popularity amongst all age groups? The theory of LEGO is so simple: taking primitive shapes and turning them into vast masterpieces of plastic and pegs. That means that everything is limited just by your imagination (or how many lego bricks come in your set). It also helps to reminisce about being younger; i used to play for hours with my one friend with the things, where we'd create our own little world full of pirates and airplanes and houses spawned from our thoughts.Although i am kind of disappointed of the trend that LEGO has started to go (nothing beats the old sets of yore, esp. the Pirate sets), I am glad to see they are still alive and well.Brava, LEGO, brava. I love my robots, and when a guy who has probably never even owned a TV let alone seen one of the Short Circuits goes and designs human-like robots from scavenged parts, well they get an a+ and a gold star for the day. Taiwanese Jet Explodes, Nobody Hurt 2007-08-20 08:38:30 In a day and age where it seems that every accident has a catastrophic death toll to accompany it, it's good to hear that one "works out" without seeing any horrible outcome.A Taiwanese jet for China Airlines exploded on the runway in Japan after landing. The best news is that 165 people, passengers and crewmen, were able to escape unhurt. The pilot apparently escaped at the last second, too, by jumping out the cockpit window right before the plane went up in flames. Sounds very Hollywood-ish.The passengers said they were unaware of the incident until they were told to prepare for an emergency evacuation. Panic ensued, but crew members were able to keep it under enough control to make sure everybody got out. 2 people were hospitalized for feeling unwell, but there were no physical injuries. I Found Out Something Today While Watching Baseball 2007-08-19 14:01:14 I was watching the Nationals vs. Mets game, and somebody hit the ball. It was a line drive right at the pitcher, and it clocked off his shin, which rolled towards the first base line. He picked it up and tried to throw it to first, but hit the runner.And the runner was called out. Apparently he was not in the running lane down first. I was amazed as i saw this, because i never thought it was an actual rule. I remember playing it in wiffleball that "if you can't get the person out at first, throw it at the person," and i never knew there was an actual variant of the rule in baseball. Of course, it only applies to first base i believe, as if you're pegged by a player while going to second or third, it's not an out. It sure hurts, though. Read more:Today
