Polaroid readying pocket-friendly budget PMP?While Polaroid has certainly dabbled in the PMP realm before, the elusive black handheld that you see above could be its next foray. Reportedly, the not-yet-named (or at least we hope, as 'Portable Media Player' would be laughable at best) device will boast a 2.2-inch 320 x 240 resolution display, USB 2.0 connectivity, 512MB of internal storage, a microSD expansion slot, built-in FM tuner, voice recorder, and somewhere close to 20-hours of battery life. Additionally, it's mentioned that we could see a stopwatch and a few mini-games thrown in too, and while pricing and availability details aren't confirmed, word on the street suggests that this thing will run users just under £99 ($198) -- if it ever comes out, that is.(Via Engadget.)

Apple's 3rd generation iPod nano revealed in "spy shots"?

Apple's 3rd generation iPod nano revealed in "spy shots "?Sure, we know that the photo up over there just looks like someone took a regular iPod, squashed it down, duplicated it, colorized it, and then pasted the copies in a playful circle. But what -- just what -- if you're actually looking at the 3G nano? According to 9to5Mac (and at this point only according to 9to5Mac), Apple's next move on the iPod front will be short, squat, and muted-pastel colorful. The site previously reported that the new color scheme will come in a variety of shades not dissimilar to what their 'spy shot' shows, so at least their own info lines up. Other than that? No corroborating evidence from Apple, and no leaks from other sources indicating this direction... let's just say we wouldn't make any bets on this particular piece of news.(Via Engadget.)

digitalCube S-Station Netforce 2 PMP
2007-08-23 17:25:00
digitalCube S-Station Netforce 2 PMP: "Normally most PMP devices have pretty much the same features. digitalCube has a new PMP with a very interesting feature, HSDPA connectivity. The device is called the s-Station NetForce 2 and has a 4.3’ 800 x 480 resolution screen. Storage options are 30 GB or 60GB and the unit has an alchemy 1250 CPU and a 5000mAh battery.I would assume that to mean that the device has internet connectivity. What I am not sure of is how exactly the connectivity is access, if you have to sign up with a participating cellular provider or if the manufacture has some other idea for the data service. They are calling the device the first ever PMP with HSDPA connectivity, but you can get cellular phones with HSDPA that have PMP functions, which makes them sort of the same in my book.(Via Portable Video Player News.)

Panasonic's D-snap now even more cluttered with Bluetooth

Panasonic's D-snap now even more cluttered with Bluetooth If you look closely at the Panasonic SV-SD950N's jumble of controls (go ahead, look, we know it hurts) you'll notice a few new icons: a telephone and Bluetooth. No, they haven't turned their latest D-snap Audio player into a Bluetooth enabled phone. However, they have enabled the A2DP, AVRCP, and HFP Bluetooth profiles allowing their DAP to pair and control your Bluetooth-equipped stereo headset, phone, and handsfree rig in your car or office. Otherwise, we're looking at the same ol' D-snap only with far less juice with Bluetooth enabled. After all, it's Bluetooth 2.0, not 2.1. Hitting Japan on September 21 for ¥25,000 (about $219) with 1GB SD card.(Via Engadget.)
