SAFA's 3one DAP: a pointless Dia clone 2007-08-13 11:25:00 Here's a strange one for you. Remember SAFA's Dia DAP? Yeah, us neither. Nevertheless, a quick search tells us that SAFA's 3one digital audio player is an identical clone
to their own, not-so-memorable DAP. Same 79 x 48 x 10-mm dimensions, same 320 x 240 pixel display, same audio and video support, same MiniSD expansion, price, and battery. In fact, the only difference appears to be a circular central controller instead of a diamond. Probably the weakest justification for padding a product portfolio we've seen this side of Creative.(Via Engadget.)
Aigo's MV5910 PMP gets Winnie the Pooh makeover 2007-08-12 19:44:00 In case you haven't noticed, Disney has been finding its way into a plethora of handhelds and portable media players of late, and it looks like the firm has accomplished yet another takeover on Aigo's latest. This Winnie
the Pooh-themed device sports an oh-so-cute exterior, 3.5-inch LCD, an image viewer, AV output, an SD expansion slot, up to 16 hours of battery life, 2GB of internal storage, and support for a variety of files including VOB, RM / RMVB, AVI, ASF, MPEG, and DAT (VCD). Unfortunately, it seems the kid-friendly MV5910 most certainly packs a premium, as the pricetag on this adorable piece sits at CNY1,699, or just over $224. Click on for another shot -- you know daddy's favorite girl will end up with one anyway.[Via PMPToday, thanks Brian B.]Continue reading Aigo's MV5910 PMP gets Winnie the Pooh makeover(Via Engadget.)

SanDisk Cuts Sansa Connect Price by $100 2007-08-15 18:19:00 SanDisk has updated pricing on its WiFi connected SansaConnect
PMP. The price has dropped from the previous $250 to $149.99. That’s a full $100 discount, which should be plenty to woo shoppers considering buying a Zune or iPod to check out SanDisk's wares.I have a Sansa connect and it is way better than the Zune in my opinion. The Sansa connect specs remain the same with a 2.2’ TFT LCD, WiFi connectivity, internet radio streaming capability, 4GB of flash storage, and more. You can also find free WiFi access for the Connect with AnchorFree. The only problem I had with the Sansa Connect was that it wouldn’t work with my SSID being set to not be broadcasted.(Via Portable Video Player News.)
Review: Venzero Slickr - CNET 2007-08-15 03:09:00 src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">CNET have published a review of the affordable Venzero Slickr portable video player. 'There's no denying the Slickr's stunning design. Its iPhone-esque aesthetic, uncluttered screen, and metallic trim are absolutely drool-worthy. A designer with refined taste must have selected the silky, matte-black, rubberized finish on the player's back and sides, for instance. Otherwise, however, the Slickr is behind the times. Venzero's disconnect between form and function makes the Slickr feel like a Lamborghini running on a Ford Festiva's engine. But we'll get to that later. The Venzero Slickr measures 3.25-inches wide by 2.25-inches tall by 0.33-inch deep. Its color TFT, QVGA display measures 2.8 inches diagonally, taking up the majority of the Slickr's face. The screen is capable of displaying 1.6 million colors at a resolution of 320x240, and it does a fine job presenting crisp, rich photos.' src="http://pagead2.
Don’t dunk the Donut FM Radio! 2007-08-20 12:49:00 Don’t dunk the Donut
FM Radio
!: "Doughnuts are sweet, everyone knows that. But these donuts are sweeter than the real ones. The Donut FM Radio is not just a treat to your ears but an equal pleasure to see and carry around. It is very portable and will definitely get you some attention. Turn the inside wheel on the Donut FM Radio counter-clock to turn the radio on and watch the blue light slowly fade up…turn the inside wheel the other way to shut the radio off. You can also adjust the volume, by using the controls on the inside wheel."(Via Gizmodiva.com.)
