40 GB PS3 - affordable!!
2007-10-11 00:14:30
Sony has finally heard our prayers and confirmed a more affordable version of its high definition console for £299. It’s a 40GB version and is expected to release in the UK next week. Unfortunately there are some feature cuts too. The new 40GB console will only have 2 USB’s when compared to 4 on the 60GB model. But the worst part is, it isn’t backward compatible with PS2 discs. I guess Sony wants us to replace all our existing PS2 games with Ps3s. Also another downgrade is lack of support for multiple card readers as it did on the 60GB version. Price watchers! This is the one for you! But for those who wanted it all here’s the good news!!! Man creates an artificial tornado!
2007-10-20 05:33:19
I’m sure most of you’ll have seen the movie Twister and other weather based movies. Have you ever wanted to view it first hand…here’s your chance. Get to the Mercedes Benz museum in Germany to witness the world’s largest artificial tornado. It’s 34.43 meters, that’s about 113 feet tall and contains approx 28 tonnes of air. It takes 144 jets about seven minutes to produce this tornado. A low-pressure column in the center of the tornado effectively sucks in any smoke and carries it up to vents in the roof allowing it to escape. Carbon dioxide is sprayed to the bottom of the tornado to make it visible. Guess what! its got a Guinness Book of Records certification too. I wonder what Mercedes has to do with artificial tornadoes. Probably they could power automobiles in the future!  (more…) Related PostsExplore the sky from your computer!Halo 3 creates record!Italian center creates Wi-Fi world record!Seek and ye shall loc8!The 160 Megapixel

Speakers as thin as paper!

The sails you see in the boat above are speakers and in total, its a 2.1 speaker system. These speakers are as thin as paper , transparent as glass, light as vinyl and can also be rolled up. Its called film speakers, probably because it shows all the characteristics of a film that you put in your cameras. Guess that’s one way to bring the films back since most people use digital cameras these days. The film speaker is made of a piezoelectric coating bonded with Poly Vinylidene Flouride. It sends out omni directional sound and can be printed on too!Fils is currently promoting the film speaker industry based in Korea. Wireless home theatre system!
2007-11-03 03:19:31
Wireless is the word these days. Eventually everything around us will be wireless and hopefully even power too! Won’t that be cool. The home theatre system has always been at the center of our entertainment system and we’d like to show off by calling friends home and blasting that system to make them feel they’re part of the movie. But the ugly part of an home theatre system is the wires that come along with it. Unless you conceal them or cleverly hide them, it’s gonna look like one of those server rooms. Currently there are systems with wireless rear speakers and even the front speakers have gone wireless. But here’s a system that’s completely wireless and I mean both audio and video… (more…) Related PostsWireless USB 2.0 !!Belkin N1 - Wireless router goes designerSamsung’s pocket imager - Small in size, big on display!Yamaha brings home 11.2 channels!Belkin FL0059- the ultimate network hub!Share This

Change colour of your car with a flick of a button!
2007-11-10 16:03:58
Imagine you could change the colour of your car with a flick of a switch. A different colour for every occasion. Well, Nissan has been developing a paramagnetic iron oxide paint polymer just to do that. Since the metal body of the car make for excellent conductors, using an electric charge, the complex arrangement of iron oxide crystals in the paint can be tweaked to display another colour. Here’s the downside of this awesome technology. Current is always needed to maintain the arrangement of these iron oxide crystals, which in other words the colour of the car. So when you switch off your car, it turns white. Now imagine a parking lot full of white cars. Nissan claims to have this technology in the market as early as 2010. Lets wait and see how it turns out! I wonder how the police would be able to trace a car by its colour once this technology is implemented? Nokia unviels the N82
2007-11-13 23:08:04
I never saw this coming from Nokia , but they’ve done it and called it the N82 (not officially announced). It looks like a serious rival for Sony Ericsson’s K850i. Even though Sony’s always known to add more features than Nokia , the N82 seems to be loaded with a little more than what the K850i offers. We aren’t sure of the final list of features, but here’s the rumor list according to those at engadget. The N82, will supposedly feature a quad band GSM, HSDPA, WiFi, GPS, FM tuner, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm audio jack,a 2.4 inch QVGA display with auto rotating like in the iPhone, microSD expansion and of course a 5 megapixel camera, with Carl Zeiss lens and xenon flash. For those of you who are looking towards getting the K850i, wait and see what Nokia has to offer both in terms of features and competitive pricing. Brand loyalists, don’t bother. Cybershot DSC T200 captures smiles automatically!
2007-11-20 04:53:44
Sony’s intoduced an all new feature in the cybershot DSC - T200. Apart from the usual face detection that detects faces, the new DSC T-200 can detect smiles and takes a picture automatically. To start, just choose the Smile shutter from the scene selection, then press the shutter fully on the subject to be taken. The camera then detects the smiling faces and closes the shutter automatically saving the picture. This way you’ll never miss those smiles you wish you had captured. You can adjust the intensity of smiles of your subject by setting the smile sensitivity levels. A ” high” setting would detect a faint smile while a “low” setting would capture a laugh. You could manually choose your smiling subject by clicking the face on the touchscreen or let the camera do it for you. The smile shutter works with both horizontal and vertical formats and works with multiples subjects within a frame. Check the out the specs and images after the jump. (more&hel

Sanyo builds world’s brightest projector!
2007-12-23 02:15:58
Hello everyone! Its been sometime since there’s been an update from my side. So here it goes. I recently stumbled on Sanyo newest projector and this is what I found. Sanyo has built  TWO-LAMP projectors, the LP-XF70 and widescreen version, the LPWF20. These projectors can emit upto 9000 lumens, the brightest in its class. They use the Active maintenance filter system to reduce cost and time in maintainence. I never knew a filter could do all that. Anyway when you say 9000 lumens, that means it should take up a lot of power to do so, but thanks to new technologies from Sanyo, the electricity consumption on this model is 37% less compared to the existing model, which means 160% increase in light efficiency. The dimensions are 530mm ( width), 267.5mm (height) and weighs 27.6 kgs. Hmm, when I had the first look, I thought this projector is way beyond the normal size, which ofcourse some of the old industrial ones did. But I’m assuming the model in the above image is of a cons
