Review: Gloves In A Bottle Shielding Lotion 2008-04-07 17:04:00 Do you remember when I wrote about Skin MD Natural?Well, this time I was sent Gloves
In A Bottle shielding lotion for a review. This was actually sent to me in the beginning of the year. As I was busy preparing for the wedding, and also to move to Melbourne, I wasn't able to check it out then. At the last minute, I packed the bottle with me, and thought I'd try it out here, where the weather is drier, just to see how well it would work.Description: Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that rapidly absorbs into, and bonds with, the outer layer of skin creating a protective layer while retaining the natural moisture from within.Instead of attempting to replace natural oils, Gloves In A Bottle forms a web or bond with the dead skin cells that works like an invisible pair of gloves. Launch of Zac Posen for Target at Chadstone 2008-04-02 22:00:00 I was actually contemplating on not going for the launch of the Zac Posen
for Target
today due to the cold weather, and if the crazy wind storm yesterday was going to come back again. It's a 30 minute walk to Chadstone, with lots of trees around, and I sure as heck am not going to risk my life for this :PThank God the winds weren't as strong today, and the sun was up albeit pretty cold. With my woolies, I took a walk to the shopping centre, and reached there at around 10am.The entrance of Target did not have any big banners or such declaring the launch of the new collection, but there were a few sales people, all nicely suited up for the occasion, welcoming customers into the store, and were carrying out questionnaires. There were a LOT of women checking out the collection. They were simply Read more:Launch

Review: Loreal Happyderm Skin Exhilarating Cleansing Mousse 2008-04-02 00:25:00 I've actually never heard of Loreal's Happyderm range. This range isn't available in Malaysia (well, not yet anyway. I'm not sure if they'll bring it to Malaysia). Oddly enough, I found this in the Loreal Paris Canada website, but not the USA, UK or Japan sites. There isn't much to the Happyderm range though, compared to the other more popular ones. There were only the cleanser (for normal/combination and dry skin) and the moisturiser. Since I've never tried any of the Happyderm range before, I thought I'd check the cleanser out. I bought the one for normal/combination skin.Description:1st skin exhilarating cleansing mousse with Phyto-Dorphins(TM) to boost the skin's well-beingEffective cleansing agents perfectly purify your skin and remove makeup.A 100% indulgent whipped cream texture to a Read more:Mousse
Zac Posen for Target 2008-03-29 20:14:00 April 3 marks the release of the limited edition designer collection for Target
in Australia. It was designed by Zac Posen
, which will be available at more affordable prices. Target has had previous designers for their Designers for Target line before, such as Issac Mizrahi, Stella McCartney, etc.Just to show you what kind of clothing items will be available from the Zac Posen
for Target line, I took a snapshot of a page in the April issue of InStyle Australia.Click to enlargeThere's a genuine replica (oxymoron, I know, but if Zac Posen did the replica, would it still be a fake?) of the dress Katherine Heigl wore to the 2007 Emmy Awards. It will be available in Target for AUD299.99. It's one of the highlights of his collection for Target.I'll be in Chadstone on April 3 for the launch, just
Review: Loreal Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation 2008-03-26 17:34:00 I've never used mineral makeup before, and as Priceline is just a few doors away from my flat, I was pretty excited to try this one out.Description:- Powdered minerals provide the coverage of a foundation but the soft, light feel of a powder.- Perfect skin without the heavy, mask-like feel of many traditional foundation products, and allow skin to breathe.- Safe for even the most sensitive skins and provides natural sun protection.- Light to medium coverage.- Contains Aloe and Vitamin B5 to soothe, condition and protect sensitive skin.- Contains no unnecessary fillers, no unnecessary preservatives, and is oil-free and fragrance-free.Ingredients:Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (3.0%), Zinc Oxide (5.0%). Taaz Online Makeovers 2008-03-25 18:19:00 I stumbled upon an online makeover site yesterday, and I have to say, I'm pretty psyched about it. It's called Taaz (weird name, I know). It is by far, one of the best online makeover sites around because of its remarkable details and accuracy to all the features of your face. If you do it properly, the changes are pretty accurate. Just upload a photo of yourself (your hair has to be up though) and get started! You can change your skin tone, add foundation, concealer and blush. You can even change your eye colour with different coloured contacts provided by FreshLook. Great way to finally find out how blue eyes work on you, huh? There are also different styles of eyeliners, mascara, and even recommends the brand of eyeshadow and blush which you select - eg MAC, Stila, NARS, Revlon etc. The co
Makeup/Skincare Don'ts 2008-03-24 18:31:00 I nicked this tag off Beautychick101's blog. I enjoy reading what products work for others and what they do to stay healthy and beautiful, but it's not everyday that we reveal OUR makeup or skincare boo boos. After all, we're only human, right? So I thought I'd have a little fun with this.My Five Must-NOT Have Items1. Nivea skincare products - I could be generalising here, but so far, NONE of the skincare products (except for the body lotions) by Nivea works on me. My skin breaks out easily after using Nivea products. I really don't understand why.2. Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum - This did nothing for me at all. And now I'm stuck with a white elephant in my cupboard. Does anybody want to take this off my hands? For free?* :p3. Cocoa butter - I know this is good for the skin, but I st Read more:Makeup

More Good Finds 2008-03-23 19:00:00 Now I don't know about you, but I don't believe in spending a lot of money on the latest fashion that would probably go out of season in a few months, and MIGHT come back in a few years (or not. Begone for good, you shoulder pads!) I do believe, however, in investing on classic pieces like a crisp white shirt, a good pair of jeans, etc.Anyhoos, I digress.Today is about more good finds which I managed to get when I was in the city a couple of weeks ago. They were at 50% off the original price (yay for me).AUD12.50AUD6 (sweet!)Now these aren't the tops I'd normally wear, but for some reason the psychedelic colours attracted me. I really like the second one (love the colours).I wore these with calf-length leggings. Now I know this doesn't suit everyone as it tends to make people look stumpy.
The New Beautyholics Anonymous 2008-03-23 01:20:00 Behold the new look for Beautyholics Anonymous!I thought it was time to change the template for this blog. The previous template served me well for almost a year, and I really love the pink and black colour combination, but I reckoned it was time for some changes.Old template (click to enlarge)I took a ready-made template from Geckoandfly and modified it to suit my taste. All the images used in the template is actually taken from Microsoft's Clipart and modified them using Photoshop. I actually came up with three headers before deciding on this one. Fickle, thy name is also woman :pThe sidebar remains the same. I've added a few tabs at the top of the posts for easy access (also tidied up the blogroll which used to be on my sidebar). It was also time to update the About Me page, so do check
Get Me New Glasses 2008-03-20 07:43:00 For the past year, I have broken three pairs of spectacles. THREE! Talk about clumsy, eh? I actually broke one which I wore for about a couple of weeks on the day I was leaving for Australia. Thanks to some unforeseen circumstances that the flight was delayed, I managed to rush back to the shop, get it fixed within a half hour, and out with a spanking new pair of glasses.Glasses
aren't cheap in Malaysia. There's always the cheap plastic frames for students with plasticky lenses, which, more often than not, looks pretty rubbish. As for the rest, no matter how cheap the frames turned out to be, the sales assistants always try to sell you expensive lenses. I always choose the least fuss, plastic lenses to ensure my glasses to be as light as possible.Unfortunately, in the end, they always turn
Fendi Paint-Your-Own Baguette Tote 2008-03-18 17:27:00 What do you think about customising your own bag? Nope, I don't mean accessorising it with knick-knacks, scarves, keychains, etc. I mean actually DRAWING on your bag.Fendi
introduced the Paint
-Your-Own Baguette Tote. The bag comes with a coated canvas, an acrylic double-F logo on the front (Fendi wouldn't be Fendi without it) and ten Pantone Universe marker to create your own design on the bag.Sacre bleu! Such a blasphemy on beauty, I tell you.Now I don't know about you, but at USD1300, no markers, pens, grimy fingers, etc are even coming NEAR my bag. Why ruin a pretty white bag? Tsk tsk.Sorry Fendi luv, it's a definite NO for me. Copyright Beautyholics Anonymous. All rights reserved.
NARS at Mecca Cosmetica 2008-03-15 22:51:00 It was 38C, without a cloud in the sky. Armed with a bottle of water, I walked 30 mins to Chadstone (and 30 mins back). It's funny how I'd actually do it here, because I wouldn't be caught dead walking for 5 mins under the hot sun back in Malaysia, but I'd gladly do it here.Seriously, what the @#$% is wrong with me?!Anyhoos, as I was doing a bit of *ahem* window shopping in the shopping centre, I stepped into Mecca
Cosmetica.I finally saw NARS, and after hearing so much about NARS blush in Orgasm, I figured I had to try it out. A lady in blue attended to me (at that time I didn't think as to why she wasn't in uniform as the rest of the staff), got me on the stool, and gave me a LOT of makeup tips, especially on how to play around with colours to get the most out of my olive skin.Uh-oh. Gav
Good Find 2008-03-06 15:47:00 Finally headed to the city after nearly a month here. You'd think I'd have gone earlier, eh? I have absolutely no idea why I didn't go earlier; I remembered my first trip here, I headed to the city on the third day!I've forgotten why I loved the city in the first place. Sure, it's busy as hell (first thing that went through my mind when I came off the train - "damn, don't nobody work here??" ... No snarky remarks about me not working now ;)), but I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city. Guess I'll always be a city girl at heart.Oh, and another reason?I got this for AUD20. At 50% off the original price.I simply LOVE the colours. The turquoise band just below the bust is actually a satin ribbon which ties around the back. The straps are also adjustable so at least it wouldn't look as thoug
Review: Kanebo T'estimo Serumdrape Rouge 2008-03-04 20:32:00 I've been meaning to review this for a long time now, but with all the big events going on for the past 3 months, I had to put this on hold. This is a very special piece of lipstick, because it was my very first Christmas pressie from a blogger-pal! I really didn't expect it, but this came from the very lovely Paris Beaverbanks *woot!!* Yep, I was woot-ing quite a bit when I got this on the mail ;)I've never actually bought any lipsticks from Kanebo before; in fact this would be one of the two Kanebo lipsticks I own (the other was also a gift). Not that I have anything against Kanebo lipsticks, but being such a cheapskate, I have never spent anything over RM50 for a lipstick. So imagine my delight to get a T'estimo lippie!Serumdrape Rouge RS-233The Serumdrape Rouge is very smooth on the lip
L'Occitane Freebies 2008-03-03 02:58:00 Many thanks to Geekchic, who posted a link to L'Occitane freebies on her blog. You know me, I can't resist free samples, so I printed the voucher, and headed to the L'Occitane store at Chadstone to collect me freebies. The sales assistant was pretty nice; she gave me an extra sample of the shea hand cream on top of the said samples.I obviously wasn't as good as Geekchic when it comes to getting more freebies; just check out the stash she snagged! *green with envy*Still, I'm pretty happy with mine :pClick here for the L'Occitane freebies. Makeup Goodies 2008-02-28 20:30:00 Check out what I bought at Priceline yesterday. All of these are the items I've seen in international magazines, but not available in Malaysia. There's Loreal's Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation, Loreal's True Match Super-Blendable Powder and CoverGirl's Volume Exact Mascara. Technically, I didn't buy the pressed powder. It was a free gift with any Loreal foundation purchased. Not bad, eh? ;)Yippee, can't wait to try 'em out and give 'em reviews.Priceline, how I love thee :p Copyright Beautyholics Anonymous. Outlet Shopping at Esprit 2008-02-24 21:18:00 Went to Brand Smart on Sunday. It's one of 'em factory outlet emporiums in Melbourne. We passed the store on the way to Chadstone, and I figured we'd drop by just to have a look.Anyways, yadda yadda yadda, to cut the long story short, we headed to the Esprit
outlet store. I'm not a fan of Esprit clothing now (I was, when I was young, when I thought it was such an IN brand. Esprit's ridiculously priced in Malaysia anyway), but since there was an-up-to-70%-discount sale going on, I thought we'd check it out.As usual, I didn't see much of what I'd like in Esprit, but I did pick up a t-shirt.Anyways, that's not the fabulous part. Let's zoom in the good bits now, shall we?1. It's marked down, from AUD29.95 to AUD19.95 (check out the original price. Seriously, for a tee??)2. It's a size S!!OMG, Read more:Outlet

The Body Shop Blushing Daisies 2008-04-10 17:56:00 Adding to my love of daisies, check out these new babies from The Body Shop. It's the limited edition Blushing Daisies, which you can use on your cheeks, your face for an all-round glow, your eyes and even your décolletage. Both have a shimmering blush and two illuminating shades in a lovely daisy design.I'm not sure if this is out in Malaysia yet, but I saw it on the US and Australian Body Shop website (so far, it isn't available in the UK yet. Weird eh, given that the Body Shop originated from the UK?). Now check out the prices of these for both countries. The Blushing Daisies is sold in the US website at USD19.50, but in the Australian website, it's going at AUD34.95 (approximately USD32.59 at the time of writing). That's about 61% markup in price. What gives?!Anyways, I'm keeping this
My Gisele Bundchen Ipanema Sandals 2008-04-10 00:58:00 I've heard of Ipanema sandals some time ago when they were launched, but it didn't really attract me that much as I thought it was just another slipper-fad (like the Crocs. Too bad they lasted. Down with Crocs!!). I also read about Kimberlycun's newly-purchased Ipanema sandals, and thought hmm, they look pretty good. And then I made the mistake of stepping into Novo and trying the sandals on.Oh. My. God.It's simply the most comfortable pair of sandals I have ever worn. It was as though I wasn't even wearing anything on my feet! I came out of the shop AUD39.95 poorer. Incidentally it would also be the most money I've ever spent on a pair of sandals.Lookit my babies! :pI walked three hours in the city today in these. What's In My Bag? 2008-04-13 16:58:00 Geekchic tagged me on the contents of my bag. I've actually been wanting to do this for a while now, but never got around to it. Anyways, being a beautyholic who loves her makeup, you'd be surprised that I don't carry a lot of stuff in my bag.Purse - I got this cheap from Strandbags. I was previously using a very pretty floral Morgan purse, which I bought in Japan 4 years ago, but it was getting a bit worn now. I didn't want that purse to fall apart, so I decided to use a cheaper one. Plus it's pink!Mobile phone - Samsung SGH U700. I wanted something smaller and much simpler, and this one's pretty sleek.iPod Touch (in a Belkin leather case, next to the phone. I forgot to include the earphones when I s
Review: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (Oil-Free) 2008-04-15 15:11:00 When I was a bridesmaid to a very dear friend a couple of years ago, the makeup artist who was doing my face recommended that I tried the tinted moisturizer, primer and foundation by Laura
