Review: Elianto Brush Cleaner (255ml)
2007-10-14 06:44:00
I love my makeup brushes to bits. I won't exactly call them the love of my life, but I do treasure each brush I bought (I bought a lot of my makeup brushes from The Body Shop, when I was studying in the UK. It was during one of their many sale periods, for ONE POUND each!), and treat them with care. Do you know that with proper care of your makeup brushes, they can last up to ten years?Anyways, today I'm going to introduce another Elianto product to you, which is the Elianto Brush Cleaner.Description:The cleaner that specifically works for makeup brushes, it cleans, disinfects and conditions the brush fibres so that the brushes will last longer. It is convenient to use and is specifically designed to extend the life of high quality brushes. The brush cleaner leaves your brushes clean, and helps shorten their drying time.Ingredients: Water, Alcohol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Hexylene Glycol, Isopropyl Alcohol, PEG-32. PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methylpa

Shopping Cart Software
2007-10-12 22:14:00
Ever thought of owning your very own online store? I have. A friend of mine's selling jewelry made of Swarovski crystals (which I will post on in the near future), and she's looking for an ecommerce software which can help her start up her store. Her very own shopping cart for customers, if you will.Ashop Commerce provides such a solution. With the software, you can start up your own little store (which can become something big in future, of course). Everything is carried out online; registration of the store, set up, etc. The interface is pretty intuitive; you can see your new orders right away, and you get to view your monthly sales in graphs, right at the front page of your interface. It's a shopping cart software with all the pieces.A good thing about Ashop Commerce is that it allows you a 10-day free trial, and with that, you do not need to register your credit card. As ecommerce solutions go, I think this one is pretty nifty. It is definitely something I'd look into. This post

Let's Go Shopping!
2007-10-11 04:07:00
Paris tagged me on my tips and tricks when going shopping, and I thought, hmm, I'll give it a go. After all, I'm not just a beautyholic, but a massive shopaholic too! Too bad I can only put ONE tip; after YEARS of doing this, I reckon I can write a book just on shopping! Hehehe.~ Start copy ~It’s very simple. When you receive this tag, copy the whole list and add your own shopping tip to the bottom and pass it on.1. Wear comfy clothing when you’re shopping. You don’t wanna fuss with too many laces and buttons when you’re trying clothes on. http://rinnah-marketplace.blogspot.com2. When buying pants or jeans, try to try them on with a pair of heels so you know its the right length. If you don’t and wear it with heels later, you might find that it hangs at an awkward length. http://www.all-aboutshopping.com3. When shopping for makeup, do avoid using the makeup testers on your face. I know this is difficult, especially when you're looking for foundation (the tone is best selec

Breast Self Examination
2007-10-06 20:31:00
Datuk Michelle Yeoh recently confessed that she does not know how to do a breast self examination. Not surprising. How many of us out there do not know how to do one too?*hand raised very sheepishly*I'm guilty of not checking my boobs often. I should be doing it at least once a month, and not simply do it anytime to my fancy.I do know how and where to press and check, but like other women out there, I don't know if the lumps I'm feeling are natural or unnatural. It's not unusual to feel slight lumps on the breasts, as they're made on fatty tissue. But the harder stuff, that's when I'd start panicking.Anyways, here's a how-to to doing a breast self examination, courtesy of WebMD.Monthly breast self-exams are an option for all women beginning by age 20. Women who regularly examine their breasts become more aware of how their breasts normally feel. They are more likely to notice changes - including masses or lumps - that could be early signs of cancer. It's best to check about a

My Gripe With MAC and Sasa
2007-10-06 05:31:00
I was reading a post on My Women Stuff about a reader who had a bad encounter with MAC sales assistants, and I have to say, I felt very sorry for her who has had such an unfortunate experience. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. I may buy foundation from MAC, but unless I'm running out of foundation, I wouldn't step foot in that store even if they've sales, or a new product in. I really do not need to be harried by pushy and arrogant sales assistants.I've never been to the MAC counters in anywhere but its branch in Gurney Plaza, Penang, but so far, I have not read any good encounters with the people there. So if any of you out there who's had a pleasant experience with MAC's sales assistants, do write in. We'd love to hear from you.My gripe with the sales assistants in Gurney Plaza's MAC is that if I do step into the shop a sorry sight (i.e. not as "groomed" as they are, but really, I hope they realise just how over made up they are), browsed the items without buying anyth

Portable DVD Player
2007-10-06 05:26:00
When I was in Japan for a year for on-job-training, one of the coolest things which caught my eye (believe me, there were a LOT) were the cars. It's not just that the cars were cheaper than what we can get here in Malaysia, but that they were so full of mouth-watering gadgets and features. For example, GPS units, tiny cameras at the front and back bumpers of cars, and a portable DVD player in almost every car.I take the bus when traveling about in Japan, and being seated "high up", many a time, I get to peek into the cars. These cars have portable DVD players in the front, AND the back, which is so cool. I've seen talk shows and dramas played on these players while the person's driving. I just hope they aren't too much of a distraction though. So yeah, I'd love myself a portable 10 inch DVD player in my car someday. Especially during road trips, when the drive is getting a little too dull; a movie would definitely make the time pass more quickly. This post was brought to you by Digi

Review: Galenic Elancyl Lipo-Reducing Concentrate 100ml
2007-10-05 08:16:00
Okay. Before you girls laugh at me for getting this, please bear in mind that prior to getting this, I had put on a LOT of weight, and on top of the exercise I was putting in, my tummy flab wasn't improving at all. I need something short of a miracle.Anyways.I bought Galenic Elancyl's Lipo-Reducing Concentrate almost a year ago, and thought, hey, I'd do a review on this, just for you folks out there who might be contemplating on getting this too.Description:First slimming care developed by Elancyl's research teams at Galenic Laboratories based on a chrono-programmed texture to fight against stubborn cellulite. One application in the morning for a progressive release of its actives over 24 hours.Result: after 14 days up to 2.9cm reduction in thigh circumference. After rubbing and massaging it only my tummy flab, I did feel the skin tighten a little. After a month, I did notice that

Review: St Ives Whipped Silk Advanced Body Moisturizer
2007-10-17 01:10:00
The first time I tried St Ives' Whipped Silk Advanced Body Moisturizer, it was like a revelation. "Oh my, I can't believe I have never tried this!". The 59ml tube of body lotion which I have was a gift-with-purchase item. I'm normally not too thrilled about body lotions as the free gift as I'm very particular about body lotions. My criteria for choosing body lotions - they have to be light, non-greasy, and most importantly, they have to smell good (subtle scent, not overbearing). A lot of the body lotions I get are pretty rubbish. But the Whipped Silk ... aahhh, I think I've found my holy grail of body lotions. Why? Because I actually bought another bottle of it. And I have never bought more than a bottle of the same body lotion after it is finished.Yeah, I'm picky like that.Description:An indulgent moisture formulated with Hydrolyzed Silk proteins that leave skin silky soft, not greasy. Treat our skin to a whole new level of luxury and softness.Specially formulated with Hydrolyze

I Need To Declutter
2007-10-16 23:23:00
I am, by nature, a hoarder. It's in my genes. My grandpa hoarded junk. So do I. So much so that I have so much things in my room just now, that I'm running out of storage space. I have boxes of different colours in my room just to store my books, files, and other knick-knacks. I'm definitely in dire need of better storage solutions. If only I have a garage, a huge store room to store my stuff. This way, I'll be able to declutter my room. And allow me to get even MORE stuff. Hehe :p*This is a sponsored post*

Poll: Would You Wear Non-Matching Scented Body Lotion with Your Perfume?
2007-10-16 03:57:00
My next review will be on a body lotion which I recently discovered, but before I go to that, I'd like to ask you ladies a question. Wearing perfume with non-matching scented body lotion - yay or nay? I do not like scented products on my face, but on my body, I'd love to smell good. I love the not-over-the-top, light floral fragrance in body lotions. However, I will not slather on scented body lotion before heading to work (I need the fragrance-free ones, which aren't an easy find for body lotions). I wear perfume to work, and somehow, scented body lotion and non-matching perfume tend to clash, regardless of how nice the individual scents are.Let me give you an example. This has got to be one of my most embarrassing moments, but it was a valuable lesson to learn. When I was in Japan, I used a lot of The Body Shop's Spa Wisdom African Spa Body Balm, as the humidity was very low, and my skin tend to peel very badly. I'd get excema, and the rashes would hurt terribly.Along with the c

Casino Reviews
2007-10-24 09:27:00
When I was studying in the UK, I remembered receiving a lot CDs on various online casinos, advertising their casino games like online poker, craps, roulette, etc. These casino CDs offered online and sometimes, offline games, which for the latter, is quite fun. Some friends of friends of friends (yeah, word travels fast in a small town) tried out one of 'em online casinos from these CDs. I thought it was a bit of fun to play the games offline, but these guys tried it out online. I was shocked to learn that they lost over 500 pounds just on these casinos. In the end, it was due to poor judgment call on the choosing of the right casinos for them.Sites on online casino reviews which offer the task of filtering through various online casinos enable the players to carefully select the right casino for them, and to play to their experience. Maybe that way, these friends of friends of friends would not have lost so much ;)*This post is sponsored*

Tobi - An American Online Shopping Experience
2007-10-22 08:48:00
My usual website stumbles brought me to an online fashion boutique which stores a lot of popular American -branded jeans, Tobi. It houses quite a lot of popular brands, such as Harajuku Lovers, Dolce Vita, M Missoni, etc.A very popular brand which Tobi stores is Seven For All Mankind. I've heard a lot of the Seven For All Mankind (simply referred to as Seven or Seven jeans). It's an instant favourite among Hollywood's elite and ranks as a preferred jean among leading celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, Liv Tyler, Jennifer Garner and Heidi Klum.Okay, are those jeans HAWT or what? :p If only I have the ass to fit into these gorgeous babies.Another brand name to drop would be the Nudie jeans for men. They're called 'the naked truth about denim'. Quite aptly named, for their jeans too, are hot. Their raw denim are universally renowned.Methinks my man would look good in these Nudie jeans ;)One of the features of the online boutique is that you can actually speak with a sty

Review: Clinelle Deep Cleansing Gel
2007-10-26 05:55:00
Next in my series of Clinelle reviews is a gem I found in facial cleansers. I can't believe I didn't try it out sooner. I'm talking about Clinelle's Deep Cleansing Gel.When I tried out Clinelle's Caring Milk Cleanser, I thought it was somewhat lacking as I didn't feel it cleansed my skin all that well. Of course, a lot of it had to do with the fact that it was not even right for my skin type in the first place (it was meant more for dry skin, whereas mine's a combination of an oily T-zone and dry cheeks). I've heard of the Deep Cleansing Gel for quite some time now, and thought it was a good time to try it out. And I certainly wasn't disappointed.Description:Enriched with Lavender, Aloe Vera, Marigold Flower Extract and Pro-Vitamin B5. Suitable for all skin types, especially oily, acne-prone & combination skinWill not clog pores (Non-comedogenic).Aloe vera and extracts of Horse Chestnut, Marigold Flower, Ruscus Aculeatus, Licorice, Willow Bark promote oxygen flow and sooth

Poll: Liquid or Pencil Eyeliner?
2007-10-29 07:02:00
It's been a while since we've done a poll, so I'm going to kickstart this week with a question for you lovely ladies out there - What method of eye-lining do you prefer? Liquid or pencil?I don't know about you, but I am practically HOPELESS when it comes to using a liquid eyeliner. I know it all boils down to practice, but as much as I've tried, I just can't seem to draw a smooth line on my eyes with the liquid eyeliner. Really.I tried drawing the line in one go (no hesitation of the hand). My eyes end up looking like a bad page of colouring where children colour out of the line. I tried the "connecting-the-dots" method. The line ended up really jagged; I looked like I had some kind of weird zig zag lines on my lids. Sigh. I gave up. For me, it has to be the pencil eyeliner. I blend the colours better with it and, for some reason, my eyes are more defined when I use the pencil.Anyhoos, what's your take? Which do you prefer? Again, my apologies for the lack of posts for the past week or so, as I've been caught up with wedding preparations and all. But now I'm back with more reviews, and to continue with my review on the Clinelle range, would be Clinelle's Moisture Glow moisturiser.Description:Will not clog pores (Non-comedogenic).Aloe Vera, Betaglucan, and extracts of Marigold Flower, Licorice, Oat Kernel, Horse Chestnut Extract, Ruscus Aculeatus & Plankton soothe, hydrate and calm sensitized skin.Powerful anti-oxidants protection of Vitamin C, E, B5, and extracts of Centella Asiatica, Grape Seed, Green Tea & Crataegus Oxyacantha for more youthful looking skin.Natural essential oils of Lavender and Lime leave skin more supple.Carrot Seed Oil, Wheat Germ Extract, Rice Bran Oil and Rice Germ Oil help protects skin against moisture loss for more supple skin.I bought Clinelle's travel set, and thought to try the moisturiser (by the way, travel sets are a great way to try out new skincare products,

Wanna Try Coloured Contact Lenses?
2007-11-19 06:45:00
Have you ever wanted to try colored contacts? I have. No kidding. I mean, yeah, when I was in college, I used to secretly poke fun at one of our classmates who wore purple contact lenses (she's Asian, by the way), and claimed that they were her real eye colour! But now, after looking at many pictures of lovely Asian women who wear coloured contact lenses, I'm itching to give it a go.Today it is easy because you can just order them directly over the internet. Colored contacts have really increased in popularity the last couple of years, you can see a lot of celebrities use them and they are a great resource for changing your apparel drastically for a time. Before buying the lenses it’s important to know however that the effect of the different lenses varies heavily depending on your own natural color. For instance a person with dark eyes has to use an opaque contact lens if they want to change the color to blue. While a person with natural blue eyes use a tinted lens which enhances th

Review: The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion
2007-11-22 01:48:00
It was a dear friend who introduced this to me. She also happened to be a colleague of mine, and I remembered once when I caught a whiff of the lovely citrus fragrance at the office, and I was wondering "Hmmm ... who's eating oranges?" It was then that I realised she was using The Body Shop's Satsuma Puree Body Lotion.Description:Cooling and refreshing, this lightweight non-greasy gel, with fabulously fruity and juicy natural ingredients, absorbs easily to instantly hydrate and moisturise. Suitable for normal skin types. Here's a short background on the satsuma. The satsuma is often known as a seedless mandarin. It is commonly called mikan in Japan, satsuma in the UK and mandarin or tangerine in Canada and the United States. Its fruit is sweet and usually seedless, about the size of other mandarin oranges (Citrus reticulata), smaller than an orange.I love The Body Shop's satsuma range. The body wash is my favourite :p I find the normal body lotion's scent a tad strong though, but th

Review: Za Deep Cleansing Oil
2007-12-11 21:44:00
When I finished my Kanebo Freshel White C Cleansing Oil, I originally wanted to repurchase the product. However, I thought I'd give other cleansing oils a go, just to see if they measure up. After some searching, I settled on Za's Deep Cleansing Oil. I've never tried Za's skincare products before, only their makeup, so I thought this could be a good start.Description:The fluid oil dissolves even waterproof makeup and pore-clogging impurities and blackheads. Once your fingertips start feeling grainy, rinse it away. The natural plant oil leaves the skin feeling soft, moist and baby-smooth.My take on this cleansing oil? MEH. The oil is not as thick as the Kanebo's Freshel White C, thus it needed a few more pumps of the oil to thoroughly clean the face. Thought it was a bit of waste to use so much oil to clean off my makeup.Speaking of which, Za's Deep Cleansing Oil claims to remove stubborn makeup, even waterproof mascara. Well, I tried removing my waterproof mascara after a wedding
