On The Bandwagon I Go 2007-08-13 23:02:00 There's been a lot of hoo-hah about blog marketing going on, and tadah, I've jumped onto the bandwagon as well.I've heard of PayPerPost a long time ago (I actually signed up my personal blog for it, but in the end I never did go for it, as I wanted to keep it ad-free), but never did get on with the program until now. I thought, hey, it's about time, eh?I actually submitted this site to PPP a month ago, but for some reason, it kept getting rejected. It was only a few weeks later that I realised, man, it totally slipped my mind that their mandatory 90 days weren't up yet *slap forehead*.Anyways, I do hope I get some good opportunities there (I've seen a few). Still, I shall have to remind myself to be really patient as my blog's still very new, and my PR's still very low. No worries, I have faith in my site, as I love writing about my passion, and if I don't get paid all that much, that's not even a problem; my readers will always come first.Hmm, what shall I do with my earning Read more:Bandwagon
Poll: Which Makeup Item Can You Not Do Without? 2007-08-20 00:50:00 Ah, another poll of the week, and I don't know about you, but this one isn't easy for me. Which makeup item can you NOT do without?Golly, this is a toughie. I'd definitely say I need 'em all. Okay okay, if I really have to choose only one, then I'd say I can't do without my lip stick/lip gloss. Lip colour does make a difference on a pasty, washed-out face. Incidentally, that was the very first makeup item I wore when I went to college. Next would be foundation, as it evens out my blotchy skin. Fresh-out-of-the-shower face is meant for bed :pWhat say you? Read more:Makeup
Review: Radox Oxygen Shower Gel 2007-08-18 22:52:00 Oh boy, I reckon this is going to be one short review. 'cos I'm going to be talking about a shower gel, and goodness knows how one reviews a shower gel. "Wash on, wash off, smell good". That all right? :pI've used Radox once (nicked my flatmate's) in the UK, and I have to say, I didn't like it. Most of the Radox shower gel scents are meant for men. You know, the spicy, musky smell? That's what Radox aims at - shower gel for men. Kinda smells like men's cologne, if you ask me.Anyways, Radox is finally sold in Malaysia, and I thought, what the heck, I'll just give it a good sniff and see if I wanna try it. The Radox Oxygen
smelt quite refreshing when I gave the bottle a whiff. I was sold.Description:Enhanced with moisture beads and a clean fresh fragrance will leave your skin feeling hydrated and moisturised. Soap-free and pH-balanced. Hmm ... soap free. That's one good point. I like 'em soap-free, less harsh to the skin. But when I tried it on, I smelt like a man!! Swear to God Read more:Shower

Date Someone Online? 2007-08-18 22:46:00 Okay, I'm going to let you on to a little secret here. In between my casual and free dating periods, I actually (OMG, I hope this doesn't come back to haunt me) signed up in one of 'em free dating sites. And I have to say, that was an eye opener. I started having complete strangers writing to me, and shamefully, I'd have to say, I quite enjoyed the attention. For a little while, at least.Today, I'm going to talk about another one of 'em free online dating sites I happened to chance upon. JustSayHi seems to have quite a good thing going on there. And the good thing about the site is that it's free. A lot of other free dating sites charge a fee, which does not guarantee a match. Something you don't have to pay for, and if you don't happen to find a love match, well, there are always friendships to be made.As with all free dating sites, I'd highly recommend caution with whomever you happen to strike a conversation with. Be careful with whom you talk to, never give out personal d
Another One Airbrushed - Britney Oh Britney 2007-08-16 19:06:00 Ahh the powers of Photoshop have done it again. And this time, it's on Britney
Spears. The September issue of Allure has done Britters up so good, you won't even be able to recognise her. I mean, gosh, compare that cover and what she is now, how much airbrushing do you reckon those fellas did on her? For those of you who do not know what a mess Britney's become (oh my, where have you been??), check out TMZ or Pink Is The New Blog, where her cousin/best-friend/parasite Alli Sims have just been served papers by her ex-husband K-Fed to gain custody of the kids. Ooh, this is gonna be interesting (I'm such a tabloid whore. Tsk tsk tsk).Anyhoos, back to the subject. Airbrushing. This time, on yourself. What's your take on that?Have you ever had your portraits professionally taken? If not at the studio, then the ones offered by makeup brands like Estee Lauder and Shiseido at departmental stores? I have. I've actually sat next to a Photoshopper "cleaning" up my face digitally. Seriously,
Short Wedding-Related-Stuff Hiatus 2007-08-23 02:37:00 Hello ladies (and the men who read my blog. Thanks guys!),I'll be off to KL tomorrow morning, and as I'll be really busy all the way to our Registration of Marriage, posts will be sporadic. I'm really excited, and it only dawned on me yesterday, that I only have a week of singledom left!! Alrighty then, how am I going to squeeze my single life into one week?Pretty easy, 'cos I have no life. Still, it's quite an overwhelming thought. In a good way.Lots to do, lots to do. Review: Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum (15ml) 2007-09-18 09:53:00 Every once in a while, somehow or rather, I'd end up buying something totally useless which will end up as one of the many white elephants which I already have in my "beauty" cupboard. The Olay Regenerist Eye LiftingSerum
would be one of them.I bought this on a whim when I was shopping at a Giant store a few months ago. It all started when I first noticed tiny crow's feet (*gasp!!!*) at the corners of my eyes, and the ever-increasing fine lines on my lower lids. I saw this when I went grocery-shopping, and thought, what the heck, I'll give it a go.Description:Notice a turnaround in 24 days: firmed eyelids, smoothed corners and even-toned under-eyes. Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum visibly lifts the look and brightens the area around the eye without drastic measures. With an exclusive Amino Peptide Complex, it hydrates to firm skin and to allow the natural regeneration of skin. Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum has a light, greaseless feel that leaves skin feeling velvety smooth.Ok
Poll: What Type Of Foundation Do You Use? 2007-09-16 05:32:00 It's been such a rainy and chilly weekend, so let's warm ourselves up with, yep, a poll! (hehe, corny I know. Just couldn't resist :p). So ladies, for today, I'd like to know, what type of foundation do you use? There are so many types of foundation out there, aren't they? Stick, powder, two-way cake and liquid. And each type branches out to many other types! For tips and tricks on choosing the right foundation for you, check out my blogger pal Paris' blog (good one there, girl). As for me, I've used the stick foundation, two-way cake and liquid foundation, and I have to say, my favourite is still the liquid foundation. Granted it's not as hassle-free as using a two-way cake, what with me needing to use my fingers and sponge to blend it onto my skin and all, but it's still my #1 choice. It gives my skin better coverage, and keep it tone-balanced. Dust it with a light layer of loose powder, and I'm ready to go.For traveling purposes, I use the two-way cake. It's less of a hassl Read more:Foundation

New Feature - CLASSIFIEDS 2007-09-14 21:23:00 Hey ladies,When I started this blog, I wanted it to be a community of women who shared the same love that I have for all things beautiful, and also to admit, "yes, I'm a beautyholic too!" :p I also had a desire to create a space where we, the ultimate beauty junkies, can sell off the stuff which we hardly used and do not need. You should look at my 'beauty' cupboard (I'll post a picture of it some day). In it, I have hardly-used, never opened lotions and potions which are taking up precious space, when instead, I could maybe sell it off at a lower price to someone who might want to try it! PLUS, with the freed-up space, I'll be able to *ahem* get more. Effective Ways To Losing Weight 2007-09-13 06:28:00 Okay, let's have a show of hands, how many of us has succumbed, at least once, to the many celebrity diets out there? The Zone Diet? Atkins? The South Beach Diet? Cabbage Soup diet? Weight
Watchers? I could go on and on.Here are the diets I've tried out, and the outcome:Atkins - all meat, no vegetables or fruit for the first two weeks, and I was terribly constipated and had foul breath. Wasted my money buying the book.South Beach Diet - absolute no carbohydrates for the first couple of weeks. That couple of weeks were hellish; I was always lethargic from lack of energy.Weight Watchers - got absolutely fed up with counting points every time I ate something.Slim-Fast - gross milkshakes and soups as main meals? You've GOT to be kidding me. I had one can of Slim-Fast milkshake, and I had to give the rest away. Ugh.I probably lost a couple of pounds the first week of the diets or so, but then gained them all back and then some later. The side effects from the diets were awful; I was tire Read more:Losing Weight
Green Tea As Protection Against Sun Damage 2007-09-12 06:06:00 Look at the skincare products on the market these days, and chances are, you'll find a lot of them with green tea extract. A lot of beauty products are infused with green tea these days; hey, green tea's the new black (tea). So, what's the big deal with green tea? We know that green tea is a good antioxidant for our body. Specifically, what benefits does it bring to our skin?According to Smart Skin Care, green tea has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and are likely to slow down the development of some signs of aging. However, whether green tea can actually diminish wrinkles and skin sag remain uncertain. The extent of green tea benefits and its optimal usage is likely to be subjected to uncertainty for years to come. Yet, if you wish to include green tea into your skincare regime, there are sensible ways to go about it.Sun protection benefits of green tea are particularly well reported. Green

Diamonds Are Forever 2007-09-12 00:52:00 When Tim and I got engaged, and started hunting for my engagement ring, it was very important that we selected one which was not only within our budget, but also the best our budget could allow. Different jewelers sell different cut, clarity and colour of diamonds, and they would fall within a price range accordingly.I was first introduced to the education of diamonds by my aunt, who frequently purchased diamond jewelry. I really appreciated her advice, on telling me the differences between the colours of the diamond, and the clarity (I finally know the differences between VS1, VS2, VSS1 and VSS2).Before purchasing a diamond, it is important to research and educate yourself about them before hand. Knowledge is not only imperative to making the best purchase decision possible, but also to knowing exactly what you are buying. This is especially true for diamonds, as they are not an inexpensive commodity. Also consider what the diamond is being purchased for; is it for an engagement ring? Read more:Diamonds

Stylebell - All About The Hair 2007-09-11 09:30:00 When Stylebell says that they're the premier hair resource, they weren't kidding. You can get practically ANYTHING that has to do with haircare, or hair-styling on that site.I was pretty interested when Stylebell contacted me to inform my readers about the site (oh, just to be clear, I'm not paid to write this. After checking the site out, I thought it was a great source of haircare and styling products, which, to be honest, I haven't seen before).Stylebell caters haircare brands like Redken, Bain De Terre, Paul Mitchell, Biolage (I love this one), etc. You can also get hairdryers, flat irons, curling tongs, and many more. I spent quite a long time browsing the site because there's just so much haircare stuff to find. Here comes the sad part, for us Malaysians, that is - they do not ship internationally. Pity. Still, readers in the US could jolly well benefit from the site - Stylebell does free shipping for orders over $50.For Beautyholics Anonymous readers in the US, well, you're
Body Shop Founder Dies 2007-09-10 23:39:00 Dame Anita Roddick, the founder of one of my favourite brands, The Body Shop, passed away last night (10 September) after suffering a brain haemorrhage. More of the news here. It's sad news indeed, for Mrs Roddick has long been fighting on promoting human rights and environmental issues. Review: Maybelline AngelFit Flawless Affinity Foundation 2007-09-10 03:57:00 When Maybelline Japan launched the AngelFit Flawless Affinity Foundation
, I was quite keen to try it out. I reckon it was the pink compact which sparked my interest more than the foundation itself :p (similar to the pink compact by Kanebo T'estimo, but the latter's prettier, and more expensive)Description:Revolutionary ultra-light "micro-thin oxy powders" blend so well onto your skin that how many layers you apply, your flaws are perfectly covered but your pores are never clogged. Poll: What Determines Your Choice Of Beauty Products? 2007-09-09 02:28:00 Missed a poll last week since I was out of town. So for today, it's going to be a real easy one. What determines your choice of beauty products? What do you look out for?Would you buy something because of its name? Or would your budget dictate your choice? There's nothing wrong with going for the name; I mean, I would normally go for something reputable rather than something obscure and never heard of. Still, there are cheaper products out in the market which do a similar job which doesn't break the bank.So yeah, I guess it's half and half for me, depending on what I want to buy. But if I have to choose (well, the poll makes me choose), I'd go for the brand. At least I know it's safe to use.So ladies, what's your take? Free Polls - Take Our Poll Read more:Choice

Review: Kanebo Inner Balance Moisture Polish Essence 40ml/1.3oz 2007-09-06 05:26:00 I purchased Kanebo's Inner Balance
Moisture Polish
from StrawberryNET during their August sales. Maybe it's just me, but for some reasons, I do not see this sold at Kanebo salons. Anyways, due to the sales, I thought I'd give it a go.The essence comes in a glass bottle, and contains some kind of shimmery substance in it, which I assume to be the micro-grained polish. When you spread it on your fingers and hand, you'll see a very tiny bits of glitter, but when you apply it on your face, it'll disappear (too small to be seen anyway). With the tiny polish bits, it's meant to brighten and smoothen the skin.I've been using the essence for over two weeks now, and, to be honest, I didn't notice much difference to my skin. It does not exactly feel smoother; either the essence is taking a much longer time to take effect, or it doesn't work at all. My face does look a little brighter than before though, I'd give it props for that. Whitening effect, maybe?Still, just for a little bright Read more:Essence

Five Things To Do At The Hair Salon 2007-09-23 09:08:00 Psst! I'll let you in on a secret.I love going to the hair salon. Hmm ... not that much of a secret, eh? Shucks.Oh well. When I tell you I'm my usual salon's regular customer, I wasn't playing it down. I mean, I go there at least once a WEEK. Yep, you heard me.Of course, since I'm such a regular customer, I get quite a lot of perks, such as free hair treatments for 2 months after a hair-rebonding session (totally transferable; my mum *ahem* leeches on my treatments a lot :p), longer washes, longer neck massages ... well, you get the picture. Plus, since it's a salon in a residential area, their services come pretty cheap, compared to the salons in the shopping malls. My sessions at the hair salon is not merely to just get a hair wash, hair cut, etc. Most of the time, I'm there to just relax and unwind, be pampered by the stylists and assistants while they give some good TLC to my hair and scalp. Here are five things I do (not all at once, of course) when I'm at the hair salon (whi Read more:Salon
Review: Elianto Shimmer Shadows & Refill Palette 2007-10-03 00:43:00 I've always wanted to do a review on Elianto makeup, so let me show you what I bought over the weekend.Elianto is inspired from the fashionable, beauty-oriented Korea, and we all know how popular Korean makeup is nowadays (e.g. Skin Food, The Face Shop, etc). Elianto means "sunflower" in Italian. Didn't know that, did ya? Okay, I didn't either :pI've not used Elianto skincare products (yet), so I won't talk much about that. What I love about Elianto is the incredible amount of eye makeup colours (ShimmerShadows
) available. Most of their eye makeup are sold as refills; the colours are caked in a small and flat cylinder, and the packaging's pretty no-nonsense. They either come in plastic covers, or small and flat paper boxes. These work fine for me, as they're very portable, very easy to be carried around in my makeup bag.And when they preach about affordability, they weren't kidding. These eye colours are RM5. EACH. I can buy 10 of them at one go and not feel a pinch :pAnyways, Read more:Refill
Smorty Schmorty 2007-10-02 22:52:00 Another one of my *ahem* money-making source would be the up-and-coming Smorty. I signed up for Smorty a few months ago, when my beauty blog was but a wee babe, but was unfortunately rejected as it was too new (low ranking, stats ... you get the picture), and did not fulfill the service's requirements. Five months down the road, I dropped them an email, and was very pleased at their prompt reply, telling me that I'm finally approved! Woot!Smorty is a blog advertising network where advertises get to advertise on blogs. This is the first time I'm using this service, but so far, the site looks promising. I like the simple user interface, which very clutter-free (good colour theme too). Choosing ads isn't difficult; you'll be notified if there are available campaigns for you.I don't just blog for money, but the money I do get is a real treat for me. I have my eye on the ... *tadah* iPhone. It's going to take a LOT of blog advertising to bag me that cellphone, but I shall remain opti
