Choosing best motorcycle boots
2007-08-08 23:28:41
Todays biker is looking for classic styling, high performance and unmatched quality–from their boots and their bikes. So what should you look for when buying motorcycle boots? First you want Premium Oiled Leathers, the best leather available. This Black Odessa Leather is waxed and oiled to make the boot more water resistant. I prefer the Vibram Chippewa Sole. This is the best motorcycle boot sole in the industry. This particular motorcycle boot sole is oil resistant and provides good traction due to its high surface contact area. Since a lot of us are around oil spills and such working on our bikes, this is a must have. Buy cheap boots without oil resistant soles and the oil will eat them away. Another thing I prefer is Goodyear Welted Construction, which greatly adds to your motorcycle boot durability. Make sure the motorcycle boots are stitched, not glued, meaning that the soles are completely replaceable when you do finally wear them down, and lets face it motorcycle riders ar

Women as bikers and motorcyclist
2007-05-27 12:46:59
Freedom. Throwing caution to the wind. Oneness with nature. This is how many women are feeling about their motorcycles and they are taking the roads by storm. The notion of women being perceived as backseat ornaments on motorcycles is long past. Women are suiting up all over America and the world to experience the exhilaration that until recently mostly men had the pleasure of experiencing. They’re controlling the throttle while their husbands, significant others and men in general are embracing their new found independence. When it comes to forming motorcycle groups, clubs and organizations, women are setting their own standards. We should reflect on the past and give credit to the rebels who made this possible by defying the norm. (more…)

2007-05-27 11:23:55
Call them crash protectors, crash bobbins, fairing protectors or frame sliders, all these products ultimately seek to do one thing - protect your expensive bodywork or the essential and often expensive structural parts of your motorcycle from damage in the even of a fall or tip-over. The frame slider concept is as old as the proverbial ‘crash bar‘ and today there are as many designs and brands as there are models of bikes. The proliferation of these types of products testify to the success of the idea of providing a sacrificial item to absorb some of the damage in the event of a fall. We are by no means experts on this concept nor were we the first to come up with it, but in this article we hope to provide you with an unbiased view so that you can make an informed decision when you’re ready to put down your hard earned cash. Many motorcycle buyers enter the showroom looking for a motorcycle before they determine how much money a motorcycle lender is willing to loan to them for the purchase of a motorcycle. There is no need to shop for a $20,000 Harley Davidson motorcycle, if a lender is only willing to provide a loan amount of $10,000. (more…)

Personal Safety is motorcycle safety equals
2007-05-23 11:39:35
If you ride or have ever ridden a motorcycle, then you have experienced the feeling of total freedom. A motorcycle of today is so easy to ride all you really have to do is keep your balance and hang on. Well, it may not be quite that simple. There are a few variables that come into play such as weather, road conditions, and other motorists. Of the three just mentioned, which do you think is the most important? If you said other motorists, you are correct. According to the National Highway Safety Administration nearly half of all motorcyle fatalities were caused by a crash with another vehicle. Half of those involved alcohol and a little over a third involved speeding. Now if someone pulls out in front of you, there’s not much you can do about that. The alcohol and speeding are well within a person’s control, so that is on that person and nobody else. (more…)

Motorcycle apparel and protective clothing that works!
2007-05-23 07:32:57
There is some great looking motorcycle apparel clothing on the market these days, but believe me not all of the motorcycle apparel clothing offers as much protection as you think. In Europe, for motorcycle clothing to be lawfully sold as “safety” clothing, it has to pass a series of European standards, which are pretty lengthy but are available on my website. The standards cover the motorcycle apparel clothing performance in abrasion, tearing and impact tests, and when they have passed; they are sold with the CE mark. However, no such regulation is available in the USA, so what should you look for? Motorcycle apparel protection in the right places Not many people realise that most motorcycle injuries occur below the belt. Your legs and feet are extremely vulnerable, so make sure that you wear a decent pair of high motorcycle boots and some protective motorcycle pants. The motorcycle pants should be reinforced at the knees and hips; ideally they should attach to your motorcycle

Choosing the right motorcycle tire
2007-05-23 04:26:13
Which is more critical - getting the right engine or getting the best motorcycle tire - that question may be a difficult to answer or an impossible decision to make for some. Both items are required to have to peak operation and safety. You want the superior acceleration and the best handling. Both of these items are necessary to achieving the quality of ride you desire from your motorcycle. Bikers and motorcyclist
2007-05-23 03:22:40
I have had the pleasure of logging in many hours on the open road on my motorcycle and meeting a wide variety of bikers from coast to coast. There seems to be a trend amidst all bikers thoughts, and it’s not what you think. It is all too common that non-riders have a misunderstanding of the mind set of a biker. For some unknown reason bikers have earned this ‘rebel without a cause’ image. And don’t get me wrong. I like that people smile at me when i walk into a bar wearing my full leather motorcycle apparel, for fear that if they don’t, I will chew them up and chase ‘em with a Budweiser. But has anyone ever actually sat down and thought about, really thought about what goes through a bikers mind before, during and after a ride? Or anytime at all for that matter? (more…)

Added safety for Puma. Motorcycle boots.
2007-05-23 01:17:49
A core safety element of the boot’s design is an adjustable clamp made of a stiff yet elastic grade of Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer. The material combines particularly elastic deformation behaviour with a high degree of protective support for the ankle in the event of an accident. Aesthetic appeal was a further reason behind Puma’s selection: easy-to-process Hytrel® is not only simple to colour to customer requirements, but the injection-moulded part provides a scratch-resistant, high-gloss surface without the need for secondary treatment. The safety-clamp arches over the ankle whilst covering the lower part of the shin. This provides optimal support for the ankle joint in both its medial and lateral movement. Yet thanks to the elasticity of Hytrel®, and the unique form of the bearing employed, the foot remains unrestricted in its movement. An integrated catch limits the foot’s rotation to within a ‘safe’ degree. Thus the safety clamp, thanks primarily to the
