5 Country Singers That Wish They Were Rockers, But Fail 2007-08-07 19:09:30 It’s funny, a lot of people don’t realize this but country singers all actually wish that they were good old rock and roll singers. They long for the crazy all night after-show party complete with sexy strippers, illegal drugs and trashed hotel rooms. Instead they get a life of doing shows where people actually listen to the music, they clap and cheer and that’s all the excitement they get!
Yeah, country singers these days need some more excitement! They need some more action! They need more rock and roll!
1. Shania Twain - She’s a fast machine and I’m sure her motor’s clean, but watch this video. This is a woman who obviously needs a little rock and roll in her life. Here’s the problem though — she needs the attitude! She needs to smoke some cigarettes, get drunk in the back of a tourbus and spend a drunken night in the click…you know, to get her voice a little raspier! I also found it a bit disturbing to hear her sing tha Read more:Country

” Covington
III, this country music singer from North Carolina made 8th place in American Idol’s 5th season. It’s been all uphill from there.
Shortly after leaving American Idol, Lyric Street Records picked him up. From there, he released a single called “A Different World”. Read more:Bucky Covington

Kellie Pickler 2007-08-02 19:53:56 If you don’t know who KelliePickler
is, you must be living under a rock. Because of her fame which came from American Idol, there are tons of web resources out there for Kellie Pickler
. You can find Kellie Pickler picture, Kellie Pickler lyrics, and anything else related to her.
Even though Kellie was eliminated from American Idol, she was able to secure a record deal from BNA Records and shortly after had a hit single called “Red High Heels”.

Tim McGraw Cruise 2007-08-02 19:27:54 The Tim McGraw
cruise this past winter was apparently a success. It will be interesting to see if more coutry artists do the same type of thing for their shows.
For those of you that missed it, the cruise involved 3 days and nights on a carnival cruise ship with country concerts every night with Time McGraw as well as other artists such as Jamie O”Neal, The Nashville Hitmakers, Jypsi and Chris Cagle.
Other events included Texaas Hold”em Poker where the winning player could get $20,000!
It would be great to see more artists have things like this!
If you are interested in going on a cruise yourself, maybe you can win one! Click here to see. Read more:Cruise

Billy Currington Tour Cancelled 2007-08-10 04:07:22 Billy
Currington has cancelled over 100 dates on his tour in order to get treatment for trauma he endured during his childhood.
In a recent People magazine article written by Beverly Keel, Currington reveals that he suffered physical abuse from his step father over the course of several years as a child. Billy apparently still has a lot of issues with anger to work on with the therapists at the treatment center.
This just goes to show how long something stays with you when it happens to you as a child. I hope Billy gets the help and peace of mind that he needs. It’s things like this that make us see that these country stars are still human and still have problems like you and me. Unfortunately, in Billy’s case, his problems are much greater. Get well soon, Billy! Read more:Cancelled
“So Small” by Carrie Underwood Hits The Charts 2007-08-12 06:23:21
The new single called &ldquo
;So Small
&rdquo
; by CarrieUnderwood
jumped on the Billboard charts with force starting at number 20 and it looks like it is going to go up from there. “Never Wanted Nothing More” by Kenny Chesney should be shaking in his cowboy boots! hahaha!Carrie is just another great example of the talent that came out of American Idol. To be honest, I was never a huge fan of the show but I cannot deny that it certainly does find some excellent and later successful musicians.

Want More Country Music? Don’t Just Look At The Major Label Artists… 2007-08-11 18:08:49
I was looking around Myspace this morning and it’s amazing to see the many amazing country artists out there doing their own thing and getting themselves known — without the major labels. These country singers and bands are making a name for themselves on the web and it’s only uphill from there!
Just to give you an idea on what is out there for talent, I pulled the top 5 unsigned country artists from MySpace:
1. Jessica Andrews - Judging from the number of profile views (over 2 million so far!) and the quality of her recordings available, she’s got a bright career ahead of her. She’s got the looks, talent and ambition — I look forward to following her career.
2. Corey Smith - Now here’s a busy country singer (at least judging by his show schedule on his MySpace page). This “Hard-Headed Fool” lists country influences like Willie Nelson on his site but it is cool to see that he has a great open mind and also has people like Read more:Country

Taylor Swift On America’s Got Talent 2007-08-22 04:13:43
Did you happen to see Taylor
Swift’s performance with America
’s Got Talent
finalist, Julienne Irwin? If you didn’t see it, you’ll have to try to find it on Youtube. Give it a day or two and the video is bound to be on there.
Unfortunately, the performance for Irwin was not enough to win though. She was later eliminated from the show ad eventually the America’s Got Talent winner and million dollar prize was rewarded to ventriloquist Terry Vator.
In my opinion, as a country fan, she should have won! LOL! But Vator was amazing as were all the rest of them so it probably was a tough call in the end. I have a feeling that this is not the last we’ll be seeing of her.

Also, Vince Gill, Jerry Douglas, Martina McBride and many more are up for awards as well.
I can’t wait to see the awards on November 7th!

More Nashville On XM 2007-08-29 04:13:38
XM Radio, the US’s largest satellite radio company, has decided to add some new studios in Nashville
. XM has over eight million subscribers. Currently, their studios are located at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The new studio will include office space, a full production studio and performance studio.
This expansion will allow XM to cover more things like live shows, interviews, etc that country music lovers will definitely enjoy.
I’m an XM subscriber myself and it will be interesting to see if anything changes to their programming when they get this expansion completed. it’s an excellent service now and the country music stuff is excellent, but if they add more to it I’ll be in heaven!
