Linux on my desktop computer (that is, if you can call triple-booting Windows XP, Vista, and Ubuntu a "switch"), I was a little worried about finding the applications and tools that would make me as productive working in Ubuntu as I am working on Windows. After a little searching around the interweb, however, I've been more than impressed with the number of great, full-featured applications available for Linux, many of which outshine their Windows counterparts. And what's best - they're all totally free. Here are my top 10 favorite applications and tweaks that made replacing Windows with Ubuntu a breeze. Taking a page from Mark Pilgrim's essential software list, I've included the necessary command line code to install most of the applications below; if you don't like Terminal, you can use Ubuntu's very friendly Add/Remove software application interface (Applications -> Add/Remove...). August 1st 2007-08-01 03:03:00 Posting pertama di bulan Agustus..........Sehari ini dari sekitar jam 8 pagi ngutek2 komputer2 di Lab. rencananya mau nyelesain konfigurasi samba server + client biar semua komputer di Lab. bisa sharing data dengan bebasnya...........Setelah mencoba beberapa saat akhirnya kita nyerah mbikin konfigurasi sambanya, soalnya ternyata repository yang biasa kita pakai yaitu kambing lagi error ngga tau kenapa, trus waktu dipindah ke ITB error juga atau jangan2 jaringan di Lab. ya yang rusak. Tapi kayaknya ngga deh!Akhirnya kita cuma jadi mbikin timed login biar pada ngga usah masukin password+username waktu login dan dengan cepat selesai. 9 Agustus 2007 2007-08-09 03:22:00 Hari ini agak gila2an, terutama dalam memutuskan buat ngga mau jadi MC ataupun dancer diacara Retreat, agak pusing nih dari kemaren, kayake itu suatu kesempatan yang baik, tapi Cay bener2 belum berani untuk nerima pelayanan ini.Salahnya apa ya? Koq Cay merasa ngga nyaman untuk kenjadi MC. Merasa udah terlalu sibuk, sehingga sulit untuk membagi waktu lagi juga khawatir kalau Cay mau jadi MC, jangan2 tugas2 lain yang sebelumnya sudah ada jadi terbengkalai dan tidak maksimal.Cay belum merenungkan dengan sungguh4 Firman pendukung buat sesi yang ditawarkan pada Cay, tapi berani mbikin keputusan ya karena waktunya dah mepet. Cay cuma sempet konsultasi sama kakak lewat sms, jadi ngga puas sebenernya, tapi setelah beberapa sms, Cay putusin untuk menolak jadi MC dan konsen ke tugas2 lain yang sama pentingnya.Hari ini, juga nolak tigas dari K' Ayu buat tanya2 ke gedung pusat tentang KKN-nya, tapi Cay tolak karena ngga pede kesana dan tugasnya bukan cuma tanya biasa, tapi ngorek2 tentang sesuatu
