He and his wife, producer Xandra Castleton, co-wrote the colorful tale of a 30-something guy with a family who grudgingly realizes it's time to trade adolescence for adulthood. The film features Deborah Harry in the role of Beauty, a delusional woman who performs as a mermaid at an aquarium.Original Music by Charlie Campbell."Full Grown Men" is about a pathologically nostalgic guy named Read more:DEBORAH
LENE LOVICH - I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW (Japanese Version) 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Lene Lovich's first release on Stiff Records in 1978 was only available through Stiff mail order. It featured her Japanese
version of 'I Think We're Alone Now' on the a.side, and on the flip, an unknown tune called 'Lucky Number'. In February 1979 someone realised the value of 'Lucky Number' and issued it as the a.side on her first 'official' Stiff 45, and before long Lene was in the Top 10 and on Top Of The Pops.Lene Lovich - I Think We're Alone Now (Japanese Version)

BRONSKI BEAT vs STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Bronski Beat featuring Rose McDowell'Peace and Love' (unreleased 1987 recording)Here's a real rarity and exclusive for all Bronski Beat and Strawberry Switchblade fans. This track has still never been released and there are no immediate plans for one either, so this is THE only place to get it.In 1987 Bronski Beat were working on their new album 'Out and About', the first since the departure of second vocalist John Foster.Larry and Steve toured extensively with this material and got great revues for the new stuff but the album just didn't happen..Rose McDowell was to be the guest vocalist on two songs. 'Peace and Love' was one of them and was recorded at Berry Street studios in London. Rose performed it live with Bronski Beat a couple of times, once at the Hammersmith Palais and another time in Scotland. Lord knows why this album never seen the light of day, just after this Steve Bronski went off to NYC and the next we heard from Bronski Beat was 'Cha Cha Heels'.Bronski Beat

BOY GEORGE lashes out at homophobic abuse 1970-01-01 00:59:59 "BEND OVER AND BE QUIET"POP singer Boy George has lashed out at teenagers who shouted homophobicabuse
at him in London yesterday. The former Culture Club star was at the Vodafone Live Music Awards in London when the incident took place. Passers-by were heard heckling the singer as he was being interviewed by journalists. But George, 45, retaliated, calling them "chavs" and telling them to "bend over and be quiet". He said: "I know I'm a queer. Shut your mouth 'til I knock you out." When they refused to stop, he stormed over to the glass doors where the teenagers were standing and threw his champagne glass at the wall. The incident at the awards at The Roundhouse in Camden, north London, was caught on TV cameras. Afterwards George said he was "calm", adding: "Otherwise they'd be dead."watch the footage heresome CULTURE CLUB remixesIt's A Miracle (Alberkam Mix)Karma Chameleon (Ledge Remix)Miss Me Blind (Fuck me I'm Famous Mix)Miss Me Blind (The Audience Remix)more Culture Club here Read more:lashes
2 SEX PISTOLS take on VELVET UNDERGROUND and ELVIS PRESLEY 1970-01-01 00:59:59 After the Sex Pistols fell apart, guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook began their own project called The Professionals. Their second single release was their only one to chart. '1-2-3' reached number 43 in the UK charts in October 1980. If you're familiar with late Pistols material like 'Silly Thing' you'll know what to expect from the a.side. But it's the two tracks on the b.side which make this single so interesting. The best by a long shot is a great cover of the Velvet Underground classic 'White Light White Heat', plus a take of 'Baby, I Don't Care' made famous by Elvis Presley. The Professionals - 1-2-3The Professionals - White Light White HeatThe Professionals - Baby, I Don't Care Read more:UNDERGROUND

MUD - HYPNOSIS 1970-01-01 00:59:59 I just heard that Dave Mount, drummer with 70's band Mud died a few weeks ago. Along with singer Les Gray, that's half of Mud no longer with us. I've searched high and low for info on Dave's death but cannot find anything other than a message board. So, in memory of Dave Mount (pictured far right on record sleeve above), here's my favourite Mud single. REVENGE OF THE KILLER SLITS 1970-01-01 00:59:59 After a 25 year sabbatical which has seen Ari Up moonlight as the legendary Ragga Queen Mad-dusa and Tessa become a lethal martial arts expert (whilst bringing up their respective children) The Slits are back…The core of Ari & Tessa have joined forces once again, drafting in Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook and legendary guitar hero Marco Pirroni (Adam & The Ants) to create the "Revenge Of The Killer Slits EP".The three tracks recorded in the summer of 2005 feature the songs "Slits Tradition", "Number One Enemy" (an unrecorded song from the earliest depths of the bands career) and "Kill Them With Love". This is a one off recording from a Slits line-up that will never be repeated again. Ari & Tessa are already working with 3 new members to carry on and extend the Slits legacy and they are playing gigs world wide as we speak. DAVID BOWIE - MOTHER 1970-01-01 00:59:59 A rare Bowie recording has recentlysurfaced. He covered John Lennon's 'Mother' for a tribute album originally commissioned by Yoko Ono.Tony Visconti said this on the subject "David recorded it as a demo in Nassau, his vocal was live and the drum leakage was terrible, but his vocal was ever so soulful and he wanted to keep it. I'm the first to admit that it is not the most polished production of our careers. The recording was made on that now defunct digital system ADAT and it was one of my first attempts at manipulating music in a computer, but we felt that the overall vibe was good enough to submit it to Yoko for that tribute album. I never found out why the album never materialised.Mother

MICHAEL JACKSON - SOMEONE IN THE DARK 1970-01-01 00:59:59 'E.T. The Extra Terrestrial' was recorded in the Autumn of 1982 and released in November 1982 by MCA Records. The children's book told the story of E.T. and was narrated by Michael Jackson, with production by Quincy Jones. It contained one of Michael's most magical recordings, 'Someone In The Dark'. This prompted a legal battle between MCA and Michael's record company CBS Records. CBS claim that MCA violated their agreement by releasing the storybook before the end of the year, thereby conflicting with Michael's solo album 'Thriller'. A judge prohibits further sales of the album.Despite the storybook being no longer available, Michael still won a Grammy Award for it in 1984.Someone In The Dark
ALBERTO Y LOST TRIO PARANOIAS - SNUFF ROCK E.P. 1970-01-01 00:59:59 SNUFF ROCK' E.P.Stiff Records 1977Last 2Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias were a comedy rock band formed in Manchester during 1973.The "Snuff Rock" EP is a very short punk rock parody (4 songs, 9 minutes), pulled from the Albertos' popular stage show "Sleak", about a rock star guy who is talked into committing suicide onstage. The play's run was punctuated by the comic disc jockey role of Les Prior, the bands vocalist, who sadly died in January 1980 from leukemia."Snuff Rock" poked fun at the punk rock phenomenon, targeting the Sex Pistols (Gobbing On Life), The Damned (Kill), as well as a myriad of reggae bands in "Snuffin' In A Babylon".This EP is one of the greats. CHRISSIE HYNDE - HAPPY FEET 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Despite what the poster shows, 'Happy Feet' hits UK cinemas on December 8th. It's a charming animated film that follows the adventures of a tap-dancing penguin in Antarctica and has a soundtrack as cute too. Prince wrote an original song for it after seeing a sneek peek at the movie and there's a curious mash-up between Chrissie Hynde and Jason Mraz blending 'Everything I Own' with 'The Joker'. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman do a rendition of 'Kiss' together with 'Heartbreak Hotel'. Brittany Murphey covers Queen's 'Somebody To Love' and there's also contributions from K.D.Lang, Pink, Patti Labelle and another star of the film, Robin Williams.Chrissie Hynde and Jason Mraz-The Joker/Everything I Own
