Everafter - The Cindarella Story
2007-08-02 23:52:00
I remember the first time I watched this movie, I played one particular moment over & over. I am a huge fan of The Cinderella Story. And before you even bother - I am NOT into fairy's! *giggle*A remarkable remake of an aged classic & when I say old I mean 1812 back when the Grimm Brothers published their version of events. Many would know of the story, but many would not have seen this wonderful adaption produced by Mirelle Soria. I really must advise on watching this & see if you can guess which beautiful moment had me hitting the replay!Once upon a time....Rating 9/10

Some kind of Wonderful

OK clearly you have to take a huge step backwards for this masterpiece in human emotion! Mary Stewart Masterson - What an incredible actress! The story follows a similar path to the previous mentioned flick. Only this movie great was created back in the late 80's. While acting abilities have progressively improved, along with directing, story lines etc etc... It is still one of those pictures that pulls at the heart strings & makes you feel all warm & fuzzy!Rating 7/10

A Walk to Remember

Ok I admit it, I am a big cry baby! Not really but I so happen to have feelings and well in the comfort of my own home, don't mind expressing those emotions otherwise known as 'for the girls' While that is completely untrue, as we all know - Boys Cry!A Walk to Remember - Embrace the love of a young couple who against the odds, make a match to question every value, to challenge every one that cares for them. Mandy Moore gives an exquisite performance and her angelic singing voice shines. Shane West - Is just amazing as the kid from the wrong side of town, he is very convincing!Rating 8/10

Bridge to Terabithia

What a lovely story, captivating, enchanting and a little sad. Any movie that can sweep me away to a place of mystery I find wonderful! It only take a few moments & I almost feel as though I am there, sharing the adventure. So come along as we hitch a ride with Jess & Leslie to a far away place where nothing is quite as it seems. A real look into the raw emotions of children & how they find a way to cope with the pressures of bullying & a no - fit society.Rating 8/10

Casino Royale

I finally got around to seeing the recent installment of 007 starring none other than Daniel Craig as James Bond. The action was awesome, the storyline kept my interest, along with the beautiful cast. I am usually not a big fan of the Bond Series, but this was a great movie! And did you know that Mr Craig is the only 'blonde' actor to have played Mr Bond!Rating 8.5/10

The Color Purple

Talk about a tear jerker! And it is incredible the number of people who have not seen this beautiful story. Set back in the day of African American slavery & the not so pleasing treatment of women. Brought to screen in 1985 by Steven Spielberg an adaption from novelist Alice Walker. An amazing cast consisting of Whoopi Goldberg, Danny Glover, Oprah Winfrey to name a few. Amazingly the movie was nominated for 11 academy awards and did not win one. It should have been a clean sweep. This is by far the greatest movie I have seen. No story has even come close & despite the negativity towards Mr Speilberg by various critics, he did a wonderful job.Celie a destitute, uneducated 14 yr old girl, sexually abused by the man she knew as her father to whom she 'twice' became pregnant. Forced to marry a widowed man & watch his taunting advances towards her young sister Nettie. There is so much more to this story & is it beautifully captured - every moment.I cant count the number of times
