$600 Poker Profits 2007-12-18 17:15:10 Yesterday was a pretty good day. Started quite awfully losing over $200 but then pulled myself together and began playing well again. The bankroll increased by $600 in the end of the day and today I'll be getting $1,500 bonus (http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp/store/special/vip-bonus-1/) due to my Frequent Player Points (FPP) reaching 100,000.
At the rate I'm playing nowadays, I collect almost 10,000 FPPs per day, so I should be looking making $4,500 each month just from the Poker
stars bonus. Maybe I'll play $200 NL today, at least in the beginning. The most interesting hand of yesterday was when I...

+$1,850 3 Days Poker 2007-12-25 08:44:32 During this time of year it's always difficult to find time to play poker or do any other gambling activity or hobby. Family and friends are first priority, since they are more or so neglected during the rest of the year due to our passion, right? So, I played about 4,200 hands during the past 3 days and made almost 2 grand. There were a couple of interesting hands played, the most exciting being certainly a $1,030 pot that I won (en/forum/poker/1030-pot.html)! That was the first 4-figure pot I ever won! Apart from that, I won a $635 pot with...

-$1,200 Hit in Poker, Getting Greedy 2007-12-22 18:27:49 Now that is just plain bad poker. The day started a bit harsh getting one or two bad beats but nothing serious, then got some back and had the marvellous idea of adding 2 more tables to my multi-tabling game. That resulted to playing 8 tables simultaneously and a hectic kind of pace. I honestly lost track of my concentration and I'm pretty sure I made some big mistakes. After about 1,000 hands, I thought I had enough, took a break and switched to 6-tables again. I fortunately slowed down my losing run but can't say I did ok....

$2,000 Poker Profit Today 2008-02-19 07:41:38 There are days that I do ok in online poker. There are also days that I do quite well in poker tournaments and cash games. But there are days when my poker skill lines up with luck and I totally own the poker tables. Today
was one of those days, winning almost every coinflip, minimizing the bad beats and making very good reads and bluffs. The result? $2,000 profit by playing 200NL 6-max Hold'em poker. Not bad for 5 hours of play...

2nd Place in Betfair's Greek Poker Tournament 2008-02-12 01:03:41 I placed 2nd in yesterday's night BetfairPoker
tournament and won 168$. Not much I hear you say and I admit it wasn't an impressive figure. However, it is always a pleasure to compete with other Greek
Poker players even if the prize pool isn't going to make any difference. Loose atmosphere, friendly talks although it gets rough from time to time since we Greeks have a big mouth occasionally. The tournament was the 2nd out of 4 which are organized by Betfair Poker every Monday titled: Greek $500 Guaranteed Tournament

Horse Racing Trading still beatable? 2008-02-11 03:09:15 Apparently
yes! Or so it seems. Today I took a look at Bet Angel's web page ( and I noticed
a banner in the right column with the title: 2008 £1k to £100k Challenge .
That rang a bell since Adam Todd from Racing
Traders ( r=http%3a%2f%2fwww.racingtraders.com l=14)
had attempted such a challenge in the past. So I decided to visit the link
wondering what kind of blog I will bump into this time. And I must say, it's a simple
but VERY promising blog.

US Presidential Election: Small update on February's Prediction 2008-02-09 09:58:50 We talked the other day about the influence Super Tuesday's results had on the fixed betting odds on the US Presidential
election (index.php?option=com_content task=view id=242 Itemid=137). While not much have happened since then, it is surely worth it to take another quick look at the betting markets, since the odds have changed quite significantly. As a matter of fact, I haven't researched a lot about the whole event. I just discuss the odds' movements and betting patterns I see at Betfair. After all, they mean everything to me.

Super Tuesday - US Election 2008 2008-02-05 19:22:02 As we have seen in the past (USA Presidential Election
2008 Early speculation for betting, trading and charts (index.php?option=com_content task=view id=210 Itemid=137)), in late November
the Democratic party was favorite to win (1.50), the next US president would be
a woman (1.78) and Hillary Clinton was a big favorite over Barack Obama (1.36).
Yesterday it was the famous SuperTuesday
as they call it, when a big number of
states voted for the candidates of each party. Let's see at the time of writing
(10:00am) how the odds have moved.
Proportional Betting System with 2% Bankroll Risk 2008-02-04 19:09:50 Lots of people keep asking about the betting system they should follow and how much risk they should put their bankroll in. If you do just a little research, you'll keep bumping into the same percentage over and over again. It seems that 2% is a magical number. Or maybe not? What is a simple explanation of that percentage? And say I'm convinced of not risking more than 2% of my bankroll, what about my staking plan? Should my betting be influenced by the odds or not?

VIP Pokerstars.com Poker Tournament with WSOP Champ Tom McEvoy 2008-01-20 23:06:26 I played another Poker
stars.com ( VIP Tournament
against a World Series of Poker Champion and managed to finish 3rd winning $300, while the champ, Tom McEvoy (), busted out first! I was sitting right next to him at his left, so I had position during the whole tourney, but unfortunately it wasn't me to eliminate him so that I could claim the $250 bounty! I'm quite satisfied by my performance at these special tournaments, as I have cashed out 2 times out of 3. I have already played against Daniel Negreanu (index.php?option=com_content task=view id=215 Itemid=135) and Chris Moneymaker...
Poker Lessons 2008-01-17 00:30:50 As I have had some success lately in poker, I convinced a close friend of mine to start playing poker online. He deposited $50 and began playing 5NL. We discussed several things about poker and showed him how to constantly be a winner at the micro stakes. At first we spent 3 or so hours together explaining semi-bluffs, aggression factors, pokertracker stats and other basic stuff required to start making money at the poker tables. Then we had another learning session while afterwards he moved up to 10NL since he had had great success at 5NL (over 30BB/100) and a...

Mid-January Poker Stats 2008-01-15 17:19:15 It's been a while since I last posted an article and decided to publish my mid-January
statistics regarding my poker performance. These 15 days have been certainly exciting but at the same time rather depressing. I started the year awfully losing $4,500 playing 400NL in about 10,000 hands. I went on making that money back and upon showing a little profit, moved up to 600NL. Of course during my first day at 600NL (that is 3-6$ No limit) I had a devastating day losing again $4,500 (my magic number? Lol) but at that time I had my best 3 days...

$500 into $70,000 in 8 days! 2008-01-08 17:20:45 Fascinating stuff! A poster over at the twoplustwo.com's forum () started a thread about how he turned $500 into 70K in just 8 days ( page=1) playing poker online! While he had problems posting a picture proving that for the first 4 or 5 pages of the thread, he finally uploaded the photo of proof. And it is indeed a fantastic photo! The whole story attracted great attention by many posters who suggested him withdrawing 50K or so in order to avoid busting (and committing suicide afterwards! Lol). There were also people suggesting withdrawing the lot but $500...
Won the Pokerstars.com Sunday Million Tournament 2008-01-06 18:15:02 Yeah, right. In my dreams! However, yesterday's night Sunday
Million Tournament
in Pokerstars.com ( almost made my day (and perhaps could change my life with a bit of luck). When the tourney began, I was already playing the half-million tournament (Warm-up as they call it) which had started 4 hours before and we were already in the money. Unfortunately, I didn't score any big win there and was happy to bust out in 353rd place out of about 3,000 entrants, winning $282 (the buy-in was $215). While that tournament was ending for me, I had the best first hour...
Poker: +$6,100 in December 2008-01-02 17:43:06 December of 2007 is history and is by far my most profitable month regarding poker. Although I won almost $8,000 in cash games, I gave away about $1,800 in tournaments. In fact, I didn't play that many tournaments while I played over 70,000 hands in ring games! That is a personal record for me. Yet, my goal was 90,000 hands per month, but given I started playing seriously on December 13, I'm quite happy with the final results.
Here are 3 interesting photos and graphs...

+$2,000 During the Weekend 2007-12-30 18:31:55 Saturday seemed like a great day for me. I played poker in the afternoon and made over $3,400 in about 2 or so hours at 400NL tables! I took a break by that time and played with my new Nintendo Wii which was a Christmas present by my girlfriend. It appears that I'm not leaving home at all nowadays since there are so many things that keep me indoors! Anyway, after feeling like a kid playing Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Party, I was back for some more poker action. However, I didn't do so good this time and lost...

Moving Up and Down Levels in Poker 2007-12-28 19:09:50 2 days ago, I moved up to 400NL and gave it a go. I started pretty well making about $2,000 in just 2 hours but then I had the worst losing run I've ever had. It was simply catastrophic. At one point I had to move down to 200NL but kept on losing, closing finally the day at -$2,000! I had lost about $4,000 in that losing run!
Of course, I quitted for the day and wouldn't return back to 400NL for quite some time. Or so I thought. Because yesterday, I played really well and made all the losses...
