Minor losses in Poker
2007-08-12 01:04:50
Returning from vacations doesn't mean I'm off to a new fresh start. I was expecting to play really good poker like the other day (here (index.php?option=com_content task=view

EUR100 Trading Profits
2007-08-11 18:33:09
Saturday was a rather mediocre day for my trading. At one point I was up about EUR450 but finally gave it almost all back towards the end. I didn't trade the evening races due to low liquidity but mainly because I was disappointed with my latest performance, losing EUR350 in only 2 races. Sports betting lost big time again and I begin to worry (index.php?option=com_content task=view

Ups and Downs in Sports Trading
2007-08-17 18:25:25
This is getting ridiculous. While I'm certain that there is money to be made in horse racing, I keep making the same mistakes over and over again. I start really well, building up my confidence, then fire up a poker tournament or two, and think hey, why not keep an eye on my stocks? . Hell, why not read a forum at the same time? Great, now give all the winnings back, lose the poker tournaments, and close the forum since you are not in the mood anymore to read and learn from the posts. Another afternoon is lost,...

EUR920 Trading Losses
2007-08-14 17:27:17
Yesterday was a very bad day for me both in trading and sports betting. I really traded hopelessly and was taking big hits in every horse race. I am winning around EUR700 in mid-August and once again I begin to wonder if all these are trully worth the trouble and time. Here is the disappointing screenshot in detail...

Won EUR220 in Cambridge Football Game
2007-08-21 16:39:48
Sports betting was victorious yesterday, something not so exciting since there was only one football game I was interested in. Cambridge U. won Farsley C. 5-1 and I pocketed EUR220. That is not all the truth however, since my main bet was in the match odds market and the Under/Over bet was a recreational one as usual. Still I don't complain about the result. My bet was placed in accordance to my betting strategy (index.php?option=com_content task=view

Lost EUR90 in Trading, EUR1,500 in Betting
2007-08-20 16:32:34
The one thing you will probably notice is that I didn't start trading on time but rather more than an hour later. The reason was that it was a very good day in poker yesterday, and specifically in multitable tournaments. I reached the final table in 4 tournaments while cashed in 6! However, they weren't expensive tournaments ($2-10 buy-ins) so didn't make a lot. However, I continued playing while I traded the horse racing markets and we all know that this is not a good thing. Sports betting did really bad. Let's see yesterday's trading screenshot...

Trading and Betting in the Weekend
2007-08-19 16:12:23
That was a not so exciting weekend. I didn't trade at all on Sunday, although there were some races with good liquidity but I traded the whole day on Saturday. The result was to break even for the day, while sports betting lost but won double that amount on Sunday. Here are the screenshots...

2nd in $5,000 Poker Tournament
2007-08-22 16:52:47
It was a matter of time I almost won such a tournament. Lately, I have been in several final tables in multitable poker tournaments and finishing 2nd out of 561 players is quite satisfactory. Of course, those $870 I won will help me withstand any bad losing run and variance. Still, I'm very optimistic and play many tournaments daily so I think I'll have more and better news and photos to show you in the future. Here's the screenshot along with some more news...

That was a good day for my trading. It was done easily and quietly with no big wins or losses. While I traded and played poker at the same time, my performance was not influenced at all and that is an improvement for my standards. I did also very good in poker but sports betting lost for another day. I'm really looking forward to being a very good poker player and abandon my betting but not trading. Trading fixed odds in Betfair was, is and will be invaluable to me since it got me where I stand today (ok, blackjack...

When Maths Lie!
2007-08-31 17:39:38
Once upon a time I trusted mathematics. I really did. Nowadays I am full of doubts. I had heard of stories where the betting strategy failed to perform in the same way and started a big losing run forcing the bettor to quit it. I kept wondering how that was ever possible. I don't any more. Here's why: I started my betting system as you know last September (index.php?option=com_content task=view

Poker Full Ahead!
2007-08-29 18:15:01
It's been a week since I last published a post of mine due to lack of time and mood. I've abandoned sports trading and betting for the time being and have entirely focused on poker. I don't trade any more since I need to play poker a lot of hours in order to find out if it can replace both betting and trading. Up to now I can't say that it can but it still is a small source of additional income. Here is how August's performance looks like: I'll update whenever possible.

How to Build your own Betting System We all have visited plenty of websites offering sports picks which are based on some betting systems and strategies. We never get the chance to see one, but we are happy to receive the picks in our emails and move on. How about this time to build our unique sports betting system and have the tips right in front of us whenever we like to. It's been 3 weeks since I stopped trading the horse racing markets in Betfair. I decided to give it another go yesterday. I don't know if I will trade daily again, but it sure was a nice feeling returning to the trading scene! I have also looked into my betting strategy once more, since the database is quite big for evaluation and testing. That resulted to a modified betting method which I have applied since Saturday with rather good results. Here are the detailed screenshots...

Trading after the Debate on Greek Elections

This is a good example to see how prices and in particular fixed betting odds are influenced by news, rumours and actual events. This is the photo I showed you two days ago before the debate happened (index.php?option=com_content task=view

A Good Run in Poker Tournaments
2007-09-05 16:38:36
The last week has seen me reach the final table of quite a few tournaments in poker. To tell you the truth I always liked the tournaments more than the cash games. It's maybe because I love competition. Although I cashed in many tournaments, I won't post pictures of every final table. It is not worth it to show that I finished 5th in a @4 multitable tournament and made 35$. However, I will publish images of tournaments I finished in the first 3 places, or made over $1,000. Let's see how I did in the past 7 days: Check...

Sports Arbitrage Betting
2007-09-04 16:38:24
Upon request, I'll talk a little about arbing in sports. Sports arbitraging occurs when two different bookmakers offering prices on an event with only two possible outcomes and there is enough of a difference in their prices such that you can back both outcomes and make a profit whoever wins. It's very similar to sports trading (index.php?option=com_content task=view

Euro 2008 Qualifying Stage
2007-10-15 16:43:53
As the European Championship 2008 Qualifying Stage is approaching its completion, let's take a closer look of the fixed odds of the most important teams at this moment. First, Germany remain the big favorite for winning the trophy. Their odds began at about 9.0 and they are now traded at 6.0 while they have a large portion of liquidity on them (16%). This trend is expected to continue even after the start of the final stage of the championship unless something unforeseen occurs. Upon examining the market on the Germany's Group winner (Group D), we see a steady downtrend from...

First Sports Betting Tips
2007-10-27 22:03:52
Starting today, I'll post my personal suggestions for some games. This is done primarily for fun and I advise not to follow my tips until there is evidence I can at least break even! My tips are based solely on my personal belief, news, and anything I have found useful to back my selection. I don't use any mathematical model and I'll be using a flat staking system, meaning I will bet 10 euros per selection. My goal is to give 100 tips in total and then arrive to any conclusions. Here are my first 3 tips for today:...
