Control (Ian Curtis -- Joy Division)
2007-10-18 13:20:00
I've not seen the movie yet, but I was watching the trailer the other day, and it's now pretty much at the top of my to-see list.Certainly because some of my friends already saw it, and they all agreed; if you like music, in particular the early post punk, you'll love this film!Basically the story is about Ian Curtis , the lead singer of Joy Division (from 1977 till 1980), who died rather young at age 23 committing suicide.Based on the book of Deborah Curtis, directed by debutant Anton Corbijn (best known for his magnificent music photographs). Produced by ao Tony Wilson, who past away this year, and to who I dedicated the first movie post. For the trailer and more information on the film you should certainly visit this site.Get in the mood with1979 Transmissionand1980 Love Will Tear Us Apart

In Bruges
2008-02-06 10:06:13
I remember some time ago, on the showbiz news on the "local" (ie Belgian) public television they were reporting that no-one less than Colin Farrell was in the country, for the filming of the movie In Bruges.Well, seems like it turned out rather well! From the trailer, I can already conclude, or shall I say predict, that it is somewhat in the style of my favorite movie, Snatch, with a nice portion of swearing, violence, and ofcourse humor.. humorous enough to see that the first 2 are not to be taken as offensive. :)It's always funny to get an international point of view on my little country. What are we known for in the UK, in the USA, or Canada? Chocolate, beer, "muscles from Brussels", boring touristic cities? Oh well, most of these stereotypes might be true I guess. And they are certain
