A Poem for Mariuca. 2007-07-28 13:28:22
Your love of life
your beautiful nature
your sweet demeanour
you shines so bright…
but sadly
all these
has brought you into trouble;
troubled by
a little gnat
unable to breath
unable to open his eyes.
It starts with friendship
a word so pure
the meaning so beautiful
but alas
it is a fragile word
brittled, un-annealed
easily shattered
leaving fragments of hard sharp shards
everywhere
scarring, a blemish -
forever tarnishing
this sweet innocent soul.
Marzie,
Don’t be sad
cause you’ll have all of us
your true friends
that’ll always be by your side.
Keep on shining…

The narcism of man 2007-07-26 07:42:04 Is it beauty that we seek?
All that is fair
exquisite and graceful,
to be adored by all
proud, haughty…
Look into your heart
shouldn’t it be full of
love, warmth and passion?
alas,
whole it’s not
but
fragmented,
vanity, conceits and narcism
abounds.
Oh how bristle
the soul had become
the humanity
that is man
diluted, diminished
splintered beyond repair.

Goodbye Harry Potter. (WARNING: SPOILER !!) 2007-07-21 17:18:28
It’s past 6am now. I’ve been up reading the final installment in the series, HarryPotter
and the Deathly Hallows.
I am a little dizzy at the moment. I’ve been reading almost non-stop late afternoon yesterday. Without a doubt, J.K Rowling has came out a masterpiece. I can hardly put the book down. Also, as I had I borrowed this book from my neighbour, and had to give it back to him today since he also want to read it, that’s why I had to finish it really fast. I think he got it from from Tesco yesterday morning, and since he’s working the night shift, he agreed to let me read it first, albeit reluctantly. See, it really does pay to be good to your neighbour.
Okay, back to the book. It really is a roller coaster ride right from the start. I won’t be going into detail since my head is really spinning now and it’s made worse staring at the pc screen. One of the character that died was Severus Snape, and since he is, and still is mind you, my fav. character in the Read more:Goodbye
Translate Widget 2.0: A great Free WP Translation plug-in 2007-07-30 11:14:56 I’ve been looking for good Translation
Plug-in for quite sometimes now. I’ve ben tinkering with the Global translator plug-in but unfortunately, I had to disabled my Permalink plug-in in order to get it to work, as they go wonker when used together.
Unfortunately, I need to use the Permalink plug-in to get my blog to work, so disabling it is out of the question. I’ve been trying to find ways to get over this limitation, but all that I’m getting is a big head-ache instead.
I then stumbled upon Trevor Creech’s Translate
Widget 2.0. Initially, I too had trouble getting this one to work. Fortunately, there’s no conflict with the other installed plug-ins. Judging from the comments on Trev’s blog, the problems seems to affect those WP users thats using ver. 2.2 above.
Anyway, after tinkering with the php code for a while, I finally got the plug-in to work perfectly. It’s already installed in the sidebar, so just give it a spin, ya.

seeking to explain our existence,

Smorty: Get Paid to Blog. 2007-08-01 15:17:46 When I first started blogging, all I wanted to do was to share my poetry to the world. Never did it crosses my mind to blog for money. Initially, this idea of commercializing my blog appalled me. But after interacting with friends from all over the world, I do now realized that monetizing a blog is a normal thing after all. Lots of people do get paid to blog, as such I told myself, it might be worth the efforts.
There are a lots of blog advertising and pay per posting site out there, but I’m particularly attracted by this one called Smorty.
Going through the fine prints, it seems to be like the others; You need to be blogging for 3 months, and you get paid weekly. But instead of waiting for 30 days from the date of the post, Smorty pays you weekly. However, your post worth still depends on your PR rank. The higher the PR, the more money you’ll get. You can make up to $100 per post.
But if you’re like me, with a low PR, the fact that Smorty pay weekly is a boon as I
Will You Be Mine 2007-07-31 14:35:41 Through the crowd I saw you there
And as I gaze and wonder,
I saw you smile with such warm pleasantry
So I made my presence, slowly but surely.
Ahh, to behold God’ own chef-d’oeuvre
I found my feelings began to bestirred,
Deep inside I felt my heart
I heard its pounding, loud and hard.
Now I know what I must say
Without tally, without delay,
In a voice, so clear and fine
To you I say, WILL YOU BE MINE?

But then, you says:
So that is why I love anime, manga and games so much …
Wordpress 2.2.1 upgrade completed…and going cold turkey at the same time… 2007-08-04 16:39:14
I’m missing my moe, and all I had to watch is some guy blabbing monotonously in a video conference… and I think I’m going cold turkey!
It’s been almost a week since I’d upgrade
d to Wordpress
2.2.1. Like all Wordpress upgrade, moving to 2.2.1 hasn’t exactly been a smooth transition. The most teething problem is that of incompatible plug-ins/widgets. Well, I’ve rectified everything now, by either upgrading or just plain deactivating all the problematic ones. And, since I’m at it, I also did a minor layout changes to my theme. I’d gotten a couple emails saying that the red fonts used in the previous layout made reading my blog intolerable, so I’ve decided to try a cool colour, reverting back to the original ice blue.
I haven’t been getting enough sleep for the whole of this past week. My wife is flying off to Nottingham in mid-October for her viva and, hopefully, her convocation at Notts U, so life is a bit hectic as

suppose to bring hope?
Ashop Commerce - Shopping Cart & E-Commerce Software 2007-08-03 02:39:20 As part of my work when doing a job for a customer is designing an e-commerce solution. I was searching for a good Shopping
Cart Software
when I came across Ashop Commerce’s ecommerce software.
Basically, a shopping cart act as the interface between a company’s Web site and its deeper infrastructure, allowing consumers to choose products; review their selections; make necessary modifications or additions; and finally, purchasing the product. As such, a good shopping cart software is very essential in any e-commerce undertaking.
What I like about Ashop Commerce is the fact that they have a fully-working 10-days free trial of their software. This let people like me test the software to see how well they fully integrate into my design. The product pages are typically HTML with a space for the product to be listed whereas the other pages (such as the checkout) are more versatile. And in this sense, this software is highly customizable for use with Dreamweaver, or other HTML e
Inspirational Blogger Award 2007-08-08 03:03:02 My friend, the sweet and ever wonderful Marzie awarded me with the InspirationalBloggerAward

My hands are quite full at the moment. As this award is a pass on award, so please allow me some times to do my round. I’ll definitely award my inspirational blogger friends later on, probably by early next week. I Signed Up for PPP! 2007-08-06 15:58:25
So, Finally, after days of waiting, I received this email:
This is a notification letting you know that your PayPerPost blog,
All is One, One is All, has been approved and is now available.
You can now take opportunities and write about them on your blog.
The email is from PayPerPost (PPP). I’ve actually registered with PPP since May, but since my blog did not conform to the 90 days age requirement, I was of course rejected. But the best thing is, my particulars are still in their system. As such, when my blog finally came of age, all I had to do was resubmit my blog url. This I did last week. True to their words, the PPP’s people approved my blog within one week.
The best thing that I’ve found about PPP is, when I log-in to my PPP admin’s dashboard, there’s a lot of choices of opportunities being offered. This signify one thing, that we, the bloggers, are the one in control …. instead of being forced on us, we are free to browse around and only ta Read more:Signed

now it’s v2.2.2… (aka how I use a plugin to auto defeat those pesky upgrade) 2007-08-05 17:17:56 I’d hardly finished my upgrade
to Wordpress v2.2.1, when my good friend Kucau wrote in to inform me about the news that v2.2.2 had just came out. I was, like WTF, thinking that I’m not going through all that trouble with those pesky plug-ins incompatibility that always plague each and every wp upgrade.
Anyway, just to find out what the fuss is all about, I headed straight over to the wp blog where I found this announcement:
Today we have two security-related releases available for both users of our main 2.2 branch and the legacy 2.0 branch. As these releases include only security and minor bugfixes they should not cause any plugin or theme compatibility issues, so you have no good excuse not to upgrade.
Well, I haven’t the excuse not to upgrade, but I haven’t the patience nor the time to spend for doing the backup and upgrading either. If I can wait more than 1 months before upgrading to v2.2.1, I can wait another month for v2.2.2. But on the other hand, the
Getting your own Domain Name? 2007-08-05 14:06:31 Without a doubt, your web hosting decision is the one most important factor that you need to consider if you’re serious in blogging under your own domain name and moving away from the free blogging platforms of Blogspot et. al.
Choosing the right host can make a lot of difference in the success or failure of your blog. There’s really no point in paying lots of money to your host, only to have limited access to your blog due to problems such as server downtimes, limited bandwidths etc. that is clearly beyond your control, but nevertheless, will sully your reputation with your visitors. After all, how many of your visitors do you think will come back if the only things they can find when they access your blog is the 404 Not Found error message?
As such, before you really commit yourself to any particular host, you need to do a lot of research first. So, how do you go about finding all these information then?
One of the place that I always use is Web Hosting Information. This

A nightmare…. 2007-08-08 17:24:13 I had a dream…
late night
a silence like
never before
a darkness that cut
deep,
I heard loud and
shrill
voices,
a cacophony of whispers
unnatural sounds
seemingly faraway
but without a doubt
near,
very near.
Shivering chill
up my spine
goose pimple
all over my skin,
in the darkness
out of bed I alight
feet shuffling
heart a beating
furious
uncertain thought
kept swirling about.
A scraping noise
under the bed
hoarse breathing
the floor a shaking
I turned [...]
Hotel Reservations 2007-08-13 04:54:46 I’ve written before that wifey is currently in preparation for her final thesis viva. Given that the viva will be taking place at the University of Nottingham main campus, in Nottingham UK, itself, preparations are really hectic.
One of the things that rank high on the preparation list is that of finding accommodation. Since wifey need [...] Read more:Hotel

Sunday Scribblings: Goosebumps. 2007-08-11 16:48:17 I was home late from work
had to entertain some big-time jerk,
when suddenly my car broke down
beside some scrub, an hour away from town.
As I was putting back on the car’s wheel hub
I heard this strange noises coming from the scrub,
a noise made of groan and moan
a noise unlike any I have known.
In the distance I [...] Read more:Sunday

A Poem for Jesse… 2007-08-17 17:10:23
In the hot Cape evening sun
lily scented afternoon
breezing softly
in the dry August air
You stand tall and proud
alone
holding a cup of
Java
freshly brewed
steaming hot
entertaining thought
of wondrous languor
sensuously delighted
totally enraptured
surrendering willingly into the
moment
oblivious of the sea of
the chattering
maddening revelers
The waning light
of the retreating sunset
reflecting off
your deep green [...] Read more:Jesse
