Jade Koru from New Zealand
2007-07-27 08:42:00
This New Zealand jade koru is a present from Ahmee (short for mommy), who is back from Christchurch NZ for a holiday. Koru is believed to depicts a new beginning, growth and harmony. What an appropriate gift as I am really hoping for a new beginning and growth.... I am planning to wire wrap this koru as the string doesn't look that strong. The jade of New Zealand is generally called greenstone,

Talking about Dream
2007-07-26 00:12:00
I just mentioned about my dream and this is what I came across at home furniture - storage beds. This platform bookcase bed comes with plenty of storage, dresser, mirror and night stand package. Plenty of additional storage space within the bed frame is unique and I can imagine how useful it is for my wire jewelry tools, beads and pretties. The bed is of quality hardware, solid wood and classic

Dream About Beads
2007-07-26 00:06:00
This addiction of mine is affecting my sleep and sub-conscious mind. Or is it because in the past few weeks I have been surrounded by beads from Canada and US? I don't know but last night I dreamed I was shopping or window shopping for beads in a town (not sure where it was but the building I entered was quite old). While looking around, the building started to shake - it's earthquake! The last

Another Pearl Necklace Set
2007-07-23 09:20:00
Last weekend was pearl weekend. Here is another set of pearl necklace and earring. This one is a mixture of natural and blue colored pearl. I like the wrap on the earring. This kind of wrap is idea i copied from Deryn of Something Sublime. Basically what I did is coil the wire round and round and round until you I get the desired thickness. Here, I used 23g wire for the wraps.

Both Sides of the Story
2007-07-23 00:06:00
Environmental issues are very much part of our life and more so to me as I am working in the environmental consultancy line. A lot of times, issues are blown out of proportion that people not in the know may interpret this information differently or misunderstood them. Sometimes, a non-issue may become a big-issue due to the same reason. It is therefore important that when you read the papers,

Jewelry-Simple Pearl Necklace & Earring
2007-07-22 10:40:00
Here's a simple pearl necklace and earring set made today. A commissioned piece. I tried a new type of clasp/hook for this piece. Something I have never tried before but it turned out quite good. Seems to hook the necklace securely. The length of the necklace is about 18 inches, just nice to hang around the neck and show it off a bit...LOL.

Friends from Jewelry Forum
2007-07-19 08:26:00
This is a very good month. First there are the beads from Calgary. The excitement was not over yet when I received yet another parcel from US. This time it is from a friend I got to know in one of the jewelry forum I joined. Thank you Christa-Maria! Christa's daughter ~ Natalie Hahn ~ is a glass artist and she makes beautiful dichroic nuggets, stained glass and fused glass. Oh! the candle holders

These are gifts to my second sister in-law who will soon be flying back to NZ. Here are information on pearl on how to take care of them: Pearl 's value and cost are judged by its color. Natural color pearl fetch higher

No More Reading Glasses - Sponsored Post
2007-07-14 10:04:00
Approaching 40 at a very fast rate, my eyesight is getting worst by the day. It is not only the age factor but there are also factors such as spending long hours facing the computer screen - in my case everyday (Monday to Friday at work) for at least eight and a half hours and additional two to three hours after work at home. That will be an average of at least 11 hours per day. Another activity

Jewelry-Charm Bracelet (First)
2007-07-14 09:28:00
This is my first ever wire wrap charm bracelet. A belated birthday present for a niece in-law who is back for holidays from New Zealand. She mentioned earlier about detachable charms but poor me, I have never heard of it. Anyone of you heard of this or may suggest any websites specializing in this? Or maybe I am just to busy to keep myself updated with the latest trend. Anyway, the charms are

Beads! Beads! and More Beads!
2007-07-11 23:37:00
These are my new beads from Canada. What a beady day I had when I got all these from my sister in-law the other day. There are handcrafted glass beads, cracked glass beads, fire polished glass Czech beads in various colors, amber glass accent beads, spacer beads and lampwork glass beads. Back in 2006, she also sent me some beads through friends who came back for holidays. Up till now I have not

Start Reading Young
2007-07-10 23:55:00
The other day I was buzzing about math but today I will buzz about reading tutors. This may be of interest to parents with children between the ages of 4 to 14, like me. Like math, reading is fundamental. Without this ability, we will be missing out on a lot of things. So, learning to read should start young. Score Learning centers helps children ages 4 to 14 through an active, hands-on

Fish tooth for Wire Jewelry
2007-07-09 08:49:00
Have you ever seen this fish before? Look at the teeth. I think those teeth will make very nice beads for a bracelet! Oh well ... a bit yucky though! This is what they call Parrot fish. Hubby went out fishing last weekend but he didn't catch this one. This was given to him by the boatman who caught it. It weight about 3.5kg. So the teeth are just the right size for a pair unique earring...:-)

Fun With Math
2007-07-08 09:55:00
When it comes to Math, I must admit that it’s not one of my favorite subjects at school. Obviously, I am more artistically inclined. But maybe it is because of the approach in teaching Maths. My son is approaching five (5) and I have been thinking about his education. If Score is available in Malaysia, I will certainly look into their math tutors program as I believe learning Math should be fun

Oh wow! We can sell anything online now including Used Cars. An online company selling used cars I recently discovered is BuyYourCar. They are relatively new having been around since August 2006. But new doesn't mean they can't delivers good quality content for the user. Actually I wanted to jump up and down when I saw these but I kept my cool. These were brought back from Canada by my sister in-law last few days. Just love it when my sister in-law comes back to Kuching for holidays. She knows just what to get for me (LOL...actually I requested them from her...). There are some beads as well but that will be for the next postings. Back to the magazines, they are

2007-07-04 09:45:00
This stone has been with me for almost a year now. This is a faceted black onyx. Been wanting to make a wire wrap ring out of it since then but haven't gotten around to doing it until a friend inquire about it. Turned out quite nice and she like it very much. However, the the size is a bit out for her so I will be making another smaller size one later on. Maybe I will keep this for myself. Don't

River Rocks that I Found
2007-06-28 08:59:00
These rocks were collected from a river located outskirt of Kuching City - about an hour drive from Kuching to be exact. I wonder if they could be used for my wire wrap jewelry. In the water and while they are wet, the colors are beautiful especially the biggest one at far right of picture two. Guess I would only find out tomorrow morning as I am dead tired at the moment from our jungle tracking

Its red color again in this post. I was talking about red being my favorite color in my previous post and just this afternoon I got this bracelet done for a co-worker. This is similar to this one I made earlier this month with an addition which is the ring. Looks like herringbone weave and twice around the world designs are the most popular designs here.....*smile*.

Jewelry - Amber
2007-08-03 04:45:00
Rachel has an amber necklace that she received as a gift from her grandma who lives in Hamburg, Germany. The string broke off when she was on holiday in Bali so I got it stringed back when she came back. She lost some of them but the remaining amber were enough to fit her tiny neck. She and her mom told me about a lady in Germany who has a whole house full of amber. Unbelievable but this lady

Within the next few days I am hoping my blog would be approved by Blogsvertise. Simply, this is how it works.
