Beaujolais Nouveau Rose for Japanese Ladies
2007-11-14 04:22:00
Remember my post about the Beaujolais Nouveau ? Here is the rest. For the first time in the 56 years since the "nouveau" label was launched, a rosé version will be among the 50 million bottles on offer. Some growers have produced 400 000 bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau Rosé, aimed to Japanese palates.Japan is a huge export market for this wine, and a small quantity of the rosé was sold there last year, where its rarity created an instant demand. The Japanese media were out in force last week for a pre-release tasting of this year's vintage at a Paris restaurant. "To us Beaujolais nouveau means France, it allows us to experience a little bit of French culture," said Akiko Yajima, a journalist with Nippon News Network."Also it is not too heavy. Japanese ladies are very comfortable drinking it.The rosé, with its relaxed image, is aimed particularly at young people and women. Inter Beaujolais, a wine promotional body, described the first nouveau vintage as "expressive", "crisp" and "elegant

Disgusting French Food
2007-11-13 03:14:00
We have said many times in this blog: French gastronomy is unique and delicious. And I’m going to prove it isn’t always the case.Indeed, French tend sometimes, to eat things that are considered disgusting in other countries or things that couldn’t believe to be eaten.Have your strong stomach ready! Snails are a delicacy in French cuisine, where they are called Escargot. In an English language menu escargot is generally reserved for snails prepared with traditional French recipes (served in the shell with garlic and parsley butter). This dish is in the English-speaking world traditionally associated with French cuisine, and a favourite English derogatory nickname for the French is the Frogs. They are traditionally prepared in a butter, garlic and parsley sauce and often served only with a salad or steamed rice. Here is a recipe for the delicious calf’s head called tête de veau in French: Take out the brains and boil the head, feet, and lights, in salted water, just

Tango in Paris
2007-11-22 03:54:00
Remember my previous post about Tango ?France first discovered the lush sounds, sensual moves and emotion-charged impact of the tango in 1906 and instantly took to the dance...One hundred years later, the French are still tango-crazy. The Paris Banlieues Tango Festival has focused for the past decade on unveiling the multiple facets of tango, its international influences and current trends and inspiration to audiences composed of tango aficionados as well as the merely curious. The multi-disciplinary festival will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in style with a comprehensive programme of events. Concerts, dances, dance and singing workshops, exhibitions, readings and food fiestas attended by a number of guests from all over the world will be held in various locations in Paris and around over a two-month period. Isn’t it time for your first tango in Paris?Via Parisinfo.frThe stunning photo is from monvlad.

On vous ramene chez vous
2007-11-29 05:11:00

Via TrendsNow
