How to be Puerto Rican
2008-03-29 03:22:40
My Hawaiian crush is part Puerto Rican and has a Puerto Rican name. Not that she ever met her dad or anything. You know Hawaiians, they're part everything. You think you're a mutt. Your typical Hawaiian is part Hawaiian, part Puerto Rican, part Japanese, part Anglo, part Filipino, part Chinese. They usually got those six covered in their recent ancestry. You have four grandparents, that's enough to have six nationalities going. Anyway, she doesn't know shit about being Puerto Rican. Not one damn thing. She wouldn't know a green plantain banana from a cuchifrito. She doesn't know one word of Spanish. Okay, lesson one. You live in an apartment building, you stick your head out the window, you see your friends in the street, and you yell out to them MIRA MIRA. No, not mirror mi

I feel bleh today.Yesterday I got really upset, like wanting to scream and/or cry upset, because DH is sick and wasn't up to going to the grocery store.  I can't drive until I get new glasses or I would've gone myself.  I ended up walking to our old pre-car grocery store this morning so we still have everything we need, but I couldn't figure out why I was so bleeping mad at him over this grocery thing, especially when I KNEW he was sick and really shouldn't be going out!And then I remembered...oh yeah, I've got PMS now, don't I?  Ugh.  It's been a long time since I've had to deal with that so no wonder it didn't come to mind right away!Today I am tired and still cranky.  Slept like shit because DH tossed and turned all night (my poor baby - but I'm trying to have a

Daily Encounter ... What Will Matter [Monday, March 31, 2008]
2008-03-31 12:45:12
Excellent Christian Website Monday , March 31, 2008 1. What Will Matter Jesus said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."1 Today's Daily Encounter is by Michael Josephson of Character Counts (390.3). Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days. All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else. Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed

Some Of The Many Benefits Of automated forex trading
2008-04-03 02:31:44
Some Of The Many Benefits Of automated forex trading The Forex market is the biggest trading market in the world with a growing trading volume that has increased from approximately $500 billion dollars to $2 trillion in the last twenty years. It is also an extraordinarily liquid market that is not linked to any particular trading floor and operates around the clock around the world making it in effect a permanently open market. As one particular market closes its doors another is opening up and you can follow the markets across the world as you trade and more or less eliminate the fact that the market in your home country will close for the weekend. It is no wonder therefore that foreign currency trading appeals to a wide variety of both big and small traders who enjoy a very wide choice o

Just before I go tonight
2008-04-03 02:20:03
I've been here all day, and half the night, mine of course... I'm leaving tonight with unfinished conversations that I hope will be taken up again tomorrow..My heart, well its been beating wildly tonight... in more ways than one..I've had the absolute pleasure and also hmm the word would have to be gift! of talking with someone whom I have a special place in my heart for of which very few have... I'm more guarded than most think but letting this person in was a very interesting experience... one I wish to follow up on.You know sometimes people in my day to day life look at me strangely my friends don't know what I'm like, its a shame though that I feel so guarded in allowing most here into that part of my life, I share a lot but not enough for anyone here to really know me... tonight even.

The Rarr
2008-04-03 01:16:46
Wild Energy; Pure Potential   A Rarr in your cards encourages you to be especially attentive to what you are doing with your energy and intentions. Don't get carried away by the Rarr's bouncy enthusiasm, but do take advantage of the energy. You can accomplish a great deal with the energy being made available to you. This is a good time Note that the Rarr is not grounded, and is not meant to be, but humans need to keep their feet firmly on the earth. When you encounter the Rarr, breathe slowly. Center. Earth yourself. Be clear about your objectives and then go for them.   (Once you start deliberately offering thought, then you can never offerenough action to keep up with the thought. Once you access the Energythat creates worlds, a huge vortex comes into place, and there's justnot

Daily Encounter ... Teaching Effective Prayer 3/28/08 + gospelink.com

An Excellent Christian Website ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thursday, April 3, 2008 1. Teaching Children (and Yourself) to Pray Effectively "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"1 A Daily Encounter reader writes, "How can I explain to my child how God answers prayers. My oldest son, 6 yrs old, has been praying that he would not have nightmares and be scared at night and for help with his behavior at school. How can I reinforce his belief in God when he doesn't think that his prayers are being answered? Dear Suzanne (name changed): Actually this is an ideal opportunity to teach your son how to pray so God will answer his prayer

How to Avoid Possible Scams when Buying Rolex Replica Watches

website: www.replicawatchwholesaler.com Make sure that watches on the pictures provided do not show 10:10. All authentic pictures (from Rolex , Omega, etc.) show this time. If you ever see a commercial or an ad for the watch it will always show 10:10. You want a retailer that you are buying from to have pictures of actual watches that they are selling. Preferably with their website URL included in the picture - not written on the picture. Send an e-mail before you make a purchase and ask if the watch you are buying looks exactly like the watch in the picture. Tell them that if you get a watch that doesn't look exactly the same you will call your credit card company immediately to tell them that you got ripped off, and cancel the purchase. Also observe how professional they are in responding

I've lost my focus....

So here I am.  I am supposed to be doing research and yet, instead I am reading blogs.  I see that I am not alone in my life, in my struggles and while this fills me with a certain relief to know know I am not alone, it also fills me with great sadness to know others have suffered as I have.  I don't feel that I have suffered as much as some but have more than others.  What I live I would wish upon no one.   And so, now I struggle.  I feel the need to write combatting the need to work.   I'm losing the battle....so let me begin.   I have lived a life of a gypsy, having moved many many times.  I was always uprooted and never really belonged anywhere.  I don't regret the life of moving, in fact I feel blessed by it as I have seen and done man

Death Becomes Me or So it Would Seem
2008-04-05 10:55:56
rev·er·ie rev·er·ie (rĕvʹə-rē) noun 1.     A state of abstracted musing; daydreaming. 2.                 A daydream: “I felt caught up in a reverie of years long past” (William Styron).     Lately I find myself sitting and thinking about all the people who have passed on to the next level of existence.  What triggered this?  The death of an acquaintance just turned 31 years old.  Sure I feel for my dad, my aunts, uncles, and grandparents.  This was different, it hit me like a speeding freight train.  It was Maundy Thursday.  I was sitting in the lobby when a woman came in and asked if we knew anything about the ambulance, and police cars

mountain lover's monologues
2008-04-05 10:48:20
Note: In an hour's time, some friends, colleagues, my son and I are about to go on a long-dreamed-of trip to climb a high peak up to its famed summit. To use a tired cliche: All our bags are packed, we're ready to go.I had wanted to post a new poem before I go. But, lacking time and the primal urge to write something new, I did the next logical (if shameless) thing: recycle an old post. I told you I'm a cheap recycler. If you're interested in the comments generated by this old post, click here.P.S. The Youtube clip is Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 (Pastoral). See you next week, folks. Enjoy life to the fullest! 1Most climbers are obsessed with summits.Impatiently around the base camp they paceAnd hurriedly trudge along well-worn ascent routesTo quickly reach the peaks of their euphoriaWhere t

rustydiamond said less than a minute ago... In a comment on my own blog about not too many comments: To Hottips4u:  (my sweet love) It is getting close to the time I have to restart my keg party, so I decided to jump right on down to you. You may think you are an authority on everything, but your blogs give you away! First of all, will you kindly remove yourself from my subscribed readers list? I do not want your name on there! I got a couple or more warnings about you in particular yesterday, and so I went to you site and read every single one of your blogs.  You may think your clever in your writing, but I would say "clever" as a fox in my estimation, and you know the old saying about too many foxes spoil the vine. So unhook yourself from 'my' vine, would you please. I think

My kitchen smells like home today...
2008-04-05 10:36:34
If I didn't know better, I would think my mom was here cooking up something tasty.  I get all the credit this time, but I've surely stepped into her shadow.I've cooked a small ham over night in the crockpot until it was tender and falling apart.  Then I chunked it up, put it in my table top roasting pot with it's juices and added green beans and potatoes.  It smells just like hers.I'm sort of patting myself on the back over that.So many times I will try to recreate the dishes she makes and fall short of the mark even if I am back home using everything in her kitchen.  As my nephew would joke, don't let CW near the okra.  My mother can pan fry it to perfection.  Mine is...well...not.  :-)Today I find it comforting that my kitchen smells like home.  I'

GoodBye Soulcast (for now)
2008-04-05 09:52:42
While I agree with Miss Mimi in her last post "The biggest thing that keeps me from writing that "Goodbye SoulCast" post is my own opinion of such posts.  People who are serious about leaving don't announce it to the whole world.  They just go.  I did the whole public leaving thing a while back, and I think I lasted all of about eight hours.  It was embarrassing and pathetic."    This is my last post for quite a while, if not forever.  Unfortunately, I did think of leaving without saying goodbye, but there are just too many really wonderful people whom I need to thank for their support.  This is in no particular order -   silverwhisper, Twylarants, crybabylu, rupert7, Me-Myself&I, firesky, papajack, starchini, secretlife, GrapeKoolai
