mailbox over at SEOSynergy, from a guy named Sam, asking me why I was putting up a blog about Paradise Philippines when it’s “a very lousy country”. And why should I be putting it up as Paradise Philippines when in fact, he says, the country “looks like hell.”
And because I’m a Paradise Philippines supporter and a Filipino, I want to post this response for Sam.
First of all Sam, I don’t know what’s your problem with the Paradise Philippines website and the Philippines, as a country. Please learn to respect other people’s way of life. Anyways, I was browsing over Zippy’s pics on Flickr.com and I found a whole bunch of Fireworks-pics on there. I’m not sure if they were taken during Christmas, but they do evoke a very strong emotion (for me). Here in Paradise Philippines we have lots of celebrations and festivities year-round, but I can pick out Christmas and Valentines as the two most memorable celebrations in my one full year. Why? Well, I get rich during Christmas, from the dozen-or-so cash gifts from my uncles and aunts. And I go poor during Valentines, because I have to give a lot of lovely gifts to people.

Harry Potter - Order of the Phoenix Movie Review 2007-07-14 18:13:14
This just came in from our Paradise Philippines city news spy (me of course) over at an undisclosed theater for the movie review of the latest in the HarryPotter
movies - Order
of the Phoenix
. I’d like to say that the movie didn’t give that Oomph that I’ve been waiting for, that would have set it uniquely better than the previous HP movies. The acting and the cast were great, but the direction was too simple that even my neighbor’s newborn baby could guess the next twist in the storyline - which is quite good really. The director compressed the book and showed it very well on film. Only there were some parts, I believe, that should have been made a little more “compelling”. Still, I’d say the show was worth every penny, since I watched it three times just to make sure I’d get every penny back :). This is really worth putting on our Paradise Philippines archives. City of Mists 2007-07-13 18:54:38 I’ve been looking over some old stock photos and I found a nice picture. It’s really worth adding here. The picture was taken last December. I was standing on top of a cliff, and it was overlooking the entire city of Cagayan de Oro. This is one good entry for our travel guide at Paradise Philippines, since most people don’t really know that Cagayan de Oro is a “city of mists”. Emergency Advisory. A group of Filipinos were found in the JFK Airport in New York City. They did not have proper papers to get inside NYC so they were forced to remain in the International Transit Lounge. They can not be allowed to enter the US because of their immigration status.
I would like to ask for the prayers and support of the entire Filipino community. Let us pray that the group of Filipinos who are trapped in the NYC airport will receive fair treatment.

Especially since the rainy season is approaching (or already here), it’ll be freezing cold every morning. Here’s a typical scene when you are going around beaches or water spots in the Philippines - the motorized bangka. The good ol’ Fisherman’s boat, which can also be converted into a transportation vehi that can take tourists to that mysterious ‘white-island’ which seems to be present near every body of water in this country.
The so-called white island is a man (or nature) made islet formed from hundreds and thousands of white pebbles or styrofoam which fishermen turn into something profitable - a pay per visit site.

It’s a cold hard stare, perverted at times, at the many beautiful spots of the 7,000.03 islands of this magnificent country. And It’s also a realization of my dreams to become a lousy photographer.
Most of the pictures posted on this Paradise Philippines website is a product of my forced admission into nature camps and several mountaineering groups - also some wild beach sorties with some old friends.
