Oakland Raiders (2-14)
1970-01-01 00:59:59
2006 record: 2-14Head Coach: Art Shell (fired)Offensive Coordinator: John ShoopDefensive Coordinator: Bob RyanPro-Bowl: Derrick Burgess (DE)OffenseThe Raiders offense was one of the worst I have ever seen play. If it wasn't for their defense causing some turnovers against Arizona and the Steelers, they would've lost all 16 games. Their Offense ranked dead last in almost every category. With horrible play by two different quarterbacks and a lack luster running game, the Raiders were only able to score 12 total touchdowns on offense. They don't have many "playmakers" but the ones they did have weren't able to do anything. Randy Moss and a bad season, Jerry Porter didn't even play and Lamont Jordan was injured majority of the season. That left them throwing it to Ronald Curry, and running it with former USC stand out, Justin Fargas.DefenseTheir defense was surprisingly good. With stars like Kirk Morrison and Nnamdi Asomugha and great safety play from guys like Stuart Schweigert and T

2006 record: 4-12Head Coach: Jon GrudenOffensive Coordinator: Bill MuirDefensive Coordinator: Monte KiffinPro-Bowl: Ronde Barber (CB)OffenseLike alot of the years in the past, the Buc's offense was yet again, bad. Chris Simms ruptured his appendix in week 3 and it caused him to miss the rest of the season. But even before his injury he was off to horrible start, he had a QB rating of 46.3 and 7 ints to just 1 TD. His replacement was Bruce Gradkowski, rookie out of Toledo. Although he was a little better, it wasn't by much. Their running game wasn't nearly as good as it was last season. After his impressive rookie year, Carnell Williams had quit a sophomore slump gaining only 798 yards and just 1 touchdown. I also should mention that I drafted him in one of my fantasy leagues...yeah, that didn't turn out to well. The only player that had somewhat a good offensive year was 12-year veteran, Joey Galloway. He caught 62 balls for 1,057 yards and 7 touchdowns. They need help at quarterba

Peyton Manning. Super Bowl. Oh hell...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Back in the day when I just started this wasteland, I wrote some crappy post about something crappy and I happened to mention that the worst thing that could happen to me would be a Peyton Manning Super Bowl win. I would look that post up and quote my exact words but I'm lazy and I have the attention span of a drugged Armadillo.Either way, in about 24 hours, that dreaded scenario could be a reality. Peyton Manning , Super Bowl champ. In Dolphin Stadium. I'd rather spoon with angry Mountain Lions than see that.Jay often asks me what my problem is with Manning but I never really give him a straight answer. I shout, I cry, I threaten him and we end up settling it like real men.....over a game of backgammon. After that, we get ice cream and throw rocks at random strangers but that's a story for another time.Well, for those of you that really want to know why I want to dropkick Patsy in his ribcage all day long, I've made a nice little list below.- Forehead the size of North Dakota.- R

Dwight Howard is going to get himself some
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Dwight Howard will be participating in the Dunk Contest at the All-Star Weekend on February 17th and that means that it's time for me to tell you how awesome Howard is going to be.Dwight dunks like I masturbate. Hard and angry. When Dwight dunks, it makes Jarod of Subway lose 10 pounds. It's not the sandwiches that make him skinny, it's constant fear of being on the receiving end of a Dwight Howard windmill slam. When Dwight dunks, he's breaking 27 laws of gravity. Why do you think that Tyrus Thomas said that he's just there to collect a check and go home? Because he knows that Howard's drink of choice is a juice called "Get that weak shit out of here".Howard is actually a member of the X-Men. Professor X found saw him one day on a playground working on his moves. Xavier then tried to use his mental powers to block Howard from taking it to the hole. You now know why Xavier is in a wheelchair. So yeah, D-Ho is going to have some fun next Saturday. He's going to dunk so insane that

Atleast we made the top 10
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Yesterday I got an e-mail from Jay where he casually pointed out that Virginia Tech had a better recruiting class than Miami. Both of us lead shallow lives and little things like this matter on levels that you can't imagine. I mean really, we argue uniform colors and patterns. Very urban of us...Either way, Jay was giddy, bleeding from his nose and seemingly had a violent man crush on some kid named Tyrod Taylor. Taylor is a highly touted quarterback prospect that has Hokie Nation dreaming of great things in the future. So, without a decent comeback at the moment, I just distracted Jay with shiny colors and changed the subject as fast as I could. But then I stumbled upon something interesting this morning while sitting slouched in my chair and smelling like old biscuits. It seems like the boys from the U had a better recruiting class than V-Tech, at least according to Scouts Inc.Miami comes in at number 9 while the Hokies are at 15. So, I have bragging rights for the next couple of day

Ethan Thomas doesn't take gabarge from anyone.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
History does repeat it self, in the case of Ethan Thomas and Brendan Haywood hating each other. Now there have been many cases of teammates disliking each other, but i'm quite sure that Kobe and Shaq never threw fisticuffs, Bill Romanowski and every single player that he played with threw down. Ok, excuse that last one, good ole' Billy had a habit of destroying careers one uppercut at a time.Any who, Thomas and Haywood have an extensive history of throwing punches that has resulted in Haywood being suspended last season for 1 game and now this latest incident has Thomas being suspended for 2 games for "conduct detrimental to the team".During practice yesterday, the two centers were tangled under the rim, when Haywood threw an elbow, Thomas felt it was intentional and then threw a punch at Haywood. The two traded blows until teammates were able to separate them.Wizard's head coach Eddie Jordan and Brendan Haywood were both not available for comment, but Ethan Thomas was more than hap

2006 season: 5-11Head Coach: Joe GibbsOffensive Coordinator: Al SaundersDefensive Coordinator: Gregg WilliamsPro-Bowl: Chris Samuels (OT) and Sean Taylor (FS)OffenseThe Redskins rushing game actually was very good despite Clinton Portis only starting 7 games. Ladell Betts has been a backup his entire career, but this year being forced into the starting roll he gained 1,154 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns, he also added 53 receptions, 445 yards and another touchdown. This prompted Washington to immediately offer him a contract extension(which he accepted). Now their passing game was their weak point. Mark Brunell threw for 1,789 yards, 8 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, but he was benched after starting 9 games in favor for Jason Campbell. Campbell had a pretty decent season throwing for 1,297 yards, 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Santana Moss had a down season, he only caught 55 balls for 790 yards and 6 touchdowns. I don't really feel that his down season was his fault, he missed 2

How do you replace the "stache" in Spokane? With shrooms and pot man...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
According to ESPN's Andy Katz, Gonzaga players Josh Heytvelt and Theo Davis have been suspended indefinitely from the team after their arrest Friday night for investigation of drug possession.Police said they found marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms in their car. Both players were booked into Spokane County Jail for investigation of drug possession, The Associated Press reported. Cheney Police Commander Rick Campbell said the amount of marijuana was only enough for a misdemeanor, but that possession of mushrooms is a felony. Police also said they pulled the car over because its tail lights were not working. Campbell said officers smelled marijuana and searched the car, and the players were cooperative. "It was close to midnight. They needed to have their lights on," Campbell said. From a basketball perspective, this suspension couldn't have come at a worse time, the Bulldogs are currently tied with Santa Clara atop the WCC and fighting for a spot in the NCAA tournament. Drew Brees dislocates elbow in the Pro-Bowl.

During the first quarter of the 2007 Pro-Bowl, Drew Brees dislocated his left elbow. This will make the second straight offseason that Bree's will be have an arm injury of some kind. Last season he had to have surgery on his torn right shoulder.Drew Brees was voted the starting quarterback after leading the Saints to the NFC Championship game and throwing for 4,418 yards and 26 touchdowns. Brees was injured while throwing a fourth-down incompletion on the NFC's second drive at the NFL all-star game. The NFC starter went 2-of-7 for 23 yards in the scoreless first quarter.

Pro Bowl...AFC-31 NFC-28
1970-01-01 00:59:59
San Diego's kicker, Nate Kaeding drilled a 21-yard game winning field goal as time expired Saturday. This capped off yet another strong drive by MVP Carson Palmer who went 8/17 190 yds and 2 touchdowns.Davey also made it well known that Miami had more players(Ray Lewis, Reggie Wayne, Frank Gore, Sean Taylor and Ed Redd) in the Pro-Bowl than Virginia Tech(just DeAngelo Hall). But what he doesn't realize, Michael Vick,Ernest Wilford, Jimmy Williams, Darryl Tapp and James Anderson were far to busy to partake in the game. You see they were busy saving orphans from burning buildings, while educating them on the importance of not doing drugs, staying in school and not blaming whitey. Most of the damage for the NFC was done with their rushing game, Steven Jackson, Frank Gore and Tiki Barber all scored a rushing touchdown in the loss. This is supposed to be Barber's final game, he has said all season that he is planning on retiring after this season to persue other projects. Tony Romo took m

UConn wins, UConn wins!!!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Thanks to an 8-0 run late in the game, Connecticut went on to beat rival Syracuse, 67-60. This win improves our record to 15-8 and inches us closer to a .500 record in Big East play. Monday's win was not only big from the standpoint that it was a rivalry game, but it gave head coach Jim Calhoun 500 victories in his illustrious 21 seasons in Storrs and ran his career win mark to 749. In one of the most well-played, exciting games this season, the Huskies made the most of their opportunities down the stretch. Paul Harris had given Syracuse their last lead with a pair of free throws with 6:48 remaining, before the Huskies took control. Sophomore power forward Jeff Adrien made a pair of free throws to tie the game for the fifth and final time, and made another free throw later to put the Huskies ahead for good, at 58-57 with 5:43 to go. The Huskies had a balanced scoring attack on the evening. Austrie registered his season-high in scoring for the second straight contest by scor

That's what happens when you mess with Dwight Howard
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Yes sir, that's Dwight Howard getting warmed up for the dunk contest during last night's game against the Spurs. First Howard reminds Tony Parker who wears the pants in the relationship and then he puts a move on Tim Duncan that is illegal in 35 states. Not only was that play beyond awesome, it was also the game winner. Dwight dunked it so hard that Stuart Scott's lazy eye got better. Howard jumped so high that it made Nate Robinson 5 inches taller. That's how good he is. When Dwight makes a play, grown men start to cry. Ask Tim Duncan. He's still crying. And let's not forget the great pass thrown by Hedo Turkoglu. The last time people in Florida saw such a nice pass, Dan Marino was still playing. Byron Leftwich tried to throw a ball like that once. Howard blocked it in his face. The sheer force of the block ruptured Chris Simms' spleen. That's how awesome Dwight Howard is. Those other dunkers have been warned...

Arizona Cardinals (5-11)

2006 record: 5-11Head Coach: Denny Green (Fired)Offensive Coordinator: Todd HaleyDefensive Coordinator: Clancy PendergrastPro-Bowl: Anquan Boldin (WR) and Adrian Wilson (S)OffenseThe Cardinals had a very good offense this year. Well, throwing the ball that is. After Arizona signed Edgerrin James alot of people, including myself, thought that the Cardinals could make a run at the playoffs and possibly even a division title. But of course James had an extremely disappointing season with just 1100 yards and 6 touchdowns. This down season snapped a personal streak of 2 straight seasons with at least 1500 yards and was coming off a career high of 13 rushing touchdowns. Now all the fault wasn't on Edge, the Cardinal's offensive line was horrible. In my opinion probably the 2nd worst in all of football. It wasn't all bad for Arizona though, 1st round pick, Matt Leinart had a solid season and looks like he will improve even more this offseason. Matt did have one of the best WR duos to throw

UCONN wins!!! Go crazy folks...go crazy!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
If you couldn't tell by the title, apparently the Connecticut Huskies won today. And yes, I am a bit excited to say the least.UConn's five game losing streak finally came to an end Saturday. The Huskies knocked off the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 61-50. Now the game did go to overtime but Jeff Adrien went off, scoring 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Also contributing with big games were Jerome Dyson and Craig Austrie both with 13 points. Hasheem Thabeet had a nice game aswell with 8 points and 11 rebounds, he also blocked 5 shots. All I am concerned with right now is making the Big East tournament. We are cutting it close but with this win tonight we have moved into 11th place in the conference(top 12 teams make it). But if we can make it to the tournament then we have a good chance at hopefully going on a winning streak that will hopefully get us in the NCAA Tournament. Which is just 5 weeks a way. Can you feel the excitement?

Super Bowl XLI....Colts-29 Bears-17.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Let me first start off by saying congratulations to Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. Congrats on making the "biggest game" of the year seem like it was a pre-season game. This may have not been the most riveting or even slightly entertaining game but I don't really give a rat's ass about hearing that you both will be having an appearance on Criminal Minds after the game. Yeah, doesn't really pique my interest. Anyway, back onto the game. The game started off with a bang much like the National Championship Game, when rookie sensation, Devin Hester returned the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. This was the first time in Super Bowl history that this has happened. After the quick score it was now Manning's turn to show what he could do. After a couple of incomplete passes, Manning finally completed one, only problem is it was to Clark Harris and Harris isn't a Colt. Indy's next drive faired much better when Peyton Manning found Reggie Wayne wide open for a 53 yard score. But on the

I guess there is worse things than losing.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Here's a hell of a question. What's worse, losing the Super Bowl or receiving an anal thrashing on live television? Now I may be wrong( I don't think I am) but I would say getting mounted while in the "fetal position" by a 250 lb man like he was in heat would be a hell of a lot worse than losing the Super Bowl.If none of this is making sense to you, then maybe this will help. During the game on Sunday, Robert Mathis sacked Rex Grossman, nothing out of the ordinary there, right? At first, it was just a sack...but sadly it turned into something wrong, wrong and dirty.See there, nothing out of the ordinary, just a very athletic sack. For most defensive players, the thrill of sacking a quarterback is enough and sacking a quarterback at a pivotal moment in the Super Bowl would be very full-filling for any player's career. But not for Robert Mathis. This great sack only fueled his lust for penetrating something other than the offensive line. And trust me, no amount of chop blocking could s

That was not the case this year. With them trading Randy Moss a couple years ago and departing with their Pro-Bowl QB Daunte Culpepper, they were left with Brad Johnson starting at QB and a bunch of busts at WR. Johnson had a bad season only throwing for 2,750 yards and 15 interceptions to go with just 9 touchdowns. The starting job was handed to rookie, Tarvaris Jackson the final two games of the season and was able to throw for 475 yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. The Vikings have never been known to have a solid running game, that is until they picked up Chester Taylor in free-agency. Taylor ran for over 1200 yards, 6 touchdowns an

You don't run fake punts on Sean Taylor
1970-01-01 00:59:59
There's that rule that players shouldn't play any real defense during the Pro-Bowl, but Sean Taylor would like for you to take that rule and shove it.The AFC tried to get cheeky and called a fake punt for Buffalo punter Brian Moorman and Taylor decided to play Australian style rugby with his ribcage. That's probably the last time that Moorman will ever run in his life. Ever.Moorman didn't go back to congratulate Taylor after the hit, he was just politely asking for his testicles back. CBS also showed the Japanese announcers react to that hit and since I'm fluent in oriental languages, I took the trouble of translating what they said below...Japanese announcer : "AAAAAAHHHHHHHAH"Translated : "Shit son, dat noob got trucked!"So, in between Taylor's hit, Reggie Wayne's long TD catch, Ed Reed's interception and Devin Hester's long punt return...it's safe to say that the Miami boys had a better showing than the Virginia Tech gang. Their passing game ranked 27th this year only gaining 173.6 yards per game, and their running game was slightly better, ranking 21st, but they still only averaged 105 yards per game. Houston had some-what of a "running back by committee" before Ron Dayne emerged as the full-time starter late in the season. Dayne rushed for 612 yards and 5 touchdowns while just starting 6 games. The projected starter, rookie Wali Lundy was benched after just starting 8 games because he was very ineffective, just gaining 476 yards and 4 touchdowns. Their passing game was worse, David Carr threw for just 2,767 yards, 11 TDs and 12 interceptions. The team averaged 16.3 points-per-game, which was the lowest since 1967, the franchise's second year of existence. At the start of the season, the offense was expected to do big things but as you know, a combination of injuries, sub-par play and bad play-calling led to a very disappointing season. Daunte Culpepper wasn't healthy enough to play and the fact that he was put into the line-up too soon, doomed the team from the get go. The offensive line was inco

The Falcons ranked #1 in rush ypg with 183.7 and they ranked dead last in pass ypg with just 148.2. Michael Vick started the season great but he fizzled mid way through the season and seemingly killed any hope for the Falcons to make the playoffs. Even though he did post the worst completion percentage of his career as a starter, he still managed to have his best overall season. Vick threw for 2,474 yards, 20 tds and 13 ints, Vick also became the first quarterback to ever rush for 1,000 yards(1039). Warrick Dunn also rushed for 1,000 yards and chipped in with 4TDs. Jerious Norwood completed the Falcons triple threat, he rushed for over 600 yards and 2 TDs in his rookie season. North Carolina can't stop the almight Zabian Dowdell; Huskies get another win.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
On Tuesday night, Virginia Tech defeated North Carolina 81-80 in overtime. This win gave the Hokies 18 overall and more importantly two against conference rival UNC. Part time superstar and full time P-I-M-P, Zabian Dowdell scored a career high 33 points and after the game he did us all a favor and ripped off Howie Mandel's stupid soul patch. The Tar Heel's big man, Tyler Hansbrough had a good game with 22 points and 8 boards but Dowdell and Deron Washington(who scored 12 and grabbed 14 rebounds) forced Wayne Ellington to throw up an awkward looking three after the buzzer had sound and preserved the victory and all but guarantee them themselves a top 10 seed in the NCAA tournament with yet another impressive road win against a Top-5 team."Something special brewing around the program," Dowdell said.In case you missed it, Connecticut won again Wednesday raising their season total to 16 and brings them within 1 win from a .500 record in the Big East. If the Bulls trade Ben Gordon I will die.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Some recent rumors have surfaced that say the Chicago Bulls are contemplating on trading either Ben Gordon or Luol Deng, P.J. Brown(he has an expiring contract), a first round pick and one of their 2006 1st round draft picks, Tyrus Thomas or Thabo Sefolosha to the Grizzles for Pau Gasol. Damn that is one long sentence. Anyways, this trade makes absolutely no sense for the Bulls. I mean why in the hell would they want to start giving away there great young players for a 20 and 10 guy who has never won a playoff game.Gordon is a 20+ scorer with a couple rebounds and assist and a game winner every so often, Deng is averaging near 20 points as well plus 7 rebounds and although Thomas and Sefolosha are both averaging less than 4 points a game they are both extremely young and will develop into NBA starters in the near future.Don't get me wrong, Pau Gasol is a good player but the Bulls are looking for a forward that can help them make the playoffs and contribute to playoff wins. 2006 season: 7-9Head Coach: Mike NolanOffensive Coordinator: Norv TurnerDefensive Coordinator: Greg ManuskyPro-Bowl: Frank Gore(RB)OffenseThe biggest downfall of San Francisco 's offense was their passing game. But this year it wasn't so much the quarterback's fault like last year, but the lack of a #1 receiver. They did have a very strong running game this season with the emergence of Pro-Bowler Frank Gore. Although he had been banged up for majority of the season, Gore was still able to rush for close to 1,700 yards and he scored 8 touchdowns. He also showed that he is a weapon catching the ball, he led the team in catches with 61 and came in third in receiving yards with 485. Alex Smith bounced back from a horrible rookie season, he threw for 2,890 yards, 16 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. From the wide receiver standpoint, this was one of the weakest positions on the 49er's offense. Any time your leading receiver has just 61 catches and is a running back, you're going to have

I have officially lost all the dignity that I had.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
It is official, I have absolutely no dignity left. I lost majority of it when I got beaten up by that 6'4" 280 pound "girl" a couple years ago(but that a story for another time).Let me set the mood so to speak, I was sitting at home...alone...at my computer(big surprise there) anyways, i'm sitting there and I receive an email from my 7 year old cousin. It's been awhile since I had talked to her, so I thought "hey, I haven't talked with her in like forever, I bet she wants to tell me about how cool ponies and pixies and barbies are" or whatever the hell 7 year old girls like.So I open the email and it's one of those damn screamers. It scared the shit out of me, now normally those things don't scare me, but I had the lights off, headphones on while reading my "How to be like Chuck" book when I open an email from a what I thought to be a nice normal 7 year old only turned out to be a very unhappy demon child with bad teeth that doesn't know the meaning of "inside voice". "Whatcha talkin bout" Willis McGahee gained 990 yards,6 touchdowns and for the second straight year, an average of just 3.8 yards per carry. There was some good news, J.P. Losman finally showed the Bills and their fans that he can indeed be a starter in the NFL. He passed for over 3,000 yards, 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He should improve more this off season which i'm sure will make alot of people happy in Buffalo . Lee Evans was great this season, he made 82 receptions for 1,292 yards and
