Transformers Shoes 2007-07-15 05:35:58
Its indeed more than meets the eyes even for sneakers! The above is a collaboration between Tomy (the Japanese toymaker) and Nike. Apparently already selling in Japan, you could either get the one that transforms into Optimus Prime or Megatron. But alas, its at best fitting for 10 year olds since the shoes are only so small. But hey, if you really needed to wear a pair of Transformers

Feeling lucky to win $2500? 2007-07-14 08:18:08 Just two days ago, I received a call from a lady and she asked me if I remember entering into a certain contest while dining at their restaurant. I could recall it because Jolene kept telling me we might never know, maybe if we join, we could win. If I remember correctly, the grand prize was a trip to Disneyland, I think Tokyo? Or was it Paris? Anyway, we wouldn’t mind a free trip for our honeymoon right? So this lady informed me that we won a $1000 travel voucher. I was happy but unfortunately not over the moon, as just a few days ago, we had made a full payment for our air tickets and its non-refundable. Well, still be thankful we won something We’ll think of something to do with it.
How about you? Feeling
lucky
to win something too? I know I had posted about 2 contests earlier, but here’s something that might catch your attention.
Over at Ashwin’s blog, you will find one crazy blog owner!! You can win $2500!! To enter just copy this text and paste it in your blo
Buy Me a Beer - PayPal Donation Wordpress Plugin 2007-07-13 23:23:45 You’ve probably seen this in a couple of blogs. Its a way for readers to make a donation to you (the blogger!) via PayPal
. It can be placed on your sidebar or at the end of every post. Well, I mean, if you put out some really great content, no harm asking for a drink… I’m sure we have plenty of generous readers out there!
When your readers click on that button, they are taken to a secure PayPal page where they can make a donation to you. So what’s with the ‘Buy Me a Beer’ or etc thingy? Stats show that by giving people a specific reason to donate, donations increase by 200%!
So I’ve added one on my blog as well. To set the record straight, I don’t really particularly like beer, so all I’m asking for is a drink (maybe Apple Juice, its my favourite!), anyway alcohol is exorbitantly expensive here in Singapore. But really, all proceeds will go towards my wedding preparations which takes place this December. So if you like my blog, Read more: Donation

Lucky 7s Contest 2007-07-12 11:55:46 Since I am in the mood of posting, here’s another blog contest!
“I Thought, therefore I Blog” is a blog I came across earlier today as well and I realised its by a fellow Singaporean like me. Considering he just re-started his blog in March this year and already have a quite a readership, thats really something! His blog is about how to earn income online and and he’s trying to practice what he preaches. He’s a father of two children, all the more you should read his blog!
Anyway, he touch upon topics like how to monetize your blogs, how to bring in the traffic, things like that. Sometimes he does post some totally irrelevant stuff from making money, but that’s fine. One practical thing he posted was on how to back up your blogs. If you have a blog, I’m pretty sure chances are that you don’t have a back up. If anything goes wrong, there goes all your hard work. Its posts like these that make the blog a good read especially if you’re Read more: Contest
Blog Contest at Romance Tracker 2007-07-12 11:18:08
I just found out about this blog today - Romance
Tracker
. Sounds cheesy? Not a bit Phil Van Treuren gives us romantic ideas, not just for a courting couple, but also for parents about spending more quality time together as a family. In fact, the blog crossed 200 RSS subscribers recently and got into the Technorati 200, so there’s a contest going on there called the Romantic Ideas Link Contest
for free blog reviews, backlinks and books. Any blog can join in, as long as its family friendly. Phil will put a link to your site just for joining, even if you don’t win. Other than the contest, it ends 15 July by the way, the blog’s a great read.

Bacary Sagna 2007-07-12 10:27:06
Bacary Sagna has just joined Arsenal from Auxerre. The 24 year old is a right back but can play anywhere along the defence and also in midfield if need be. Some were questioning Arsene Wenger’s wisdom in bringing in a right back especially when we already have Justin Hoyte and Eboue in that position. But I think it may be a good move. Sagna seems to be a good player, and if he can adapt, he could probably play in the centre of defence. This helps since Kolo Toure and Eboue are affected by the African Nations Cup which may cause them to miss quite a bit of matches. Sagna is French by nationality. Eboue could also be moved up to right wing since Freddie might be sold soon, so its good to have more options on the right.
This is the great thing about Arsenal, everyone else grabs all the big names, and we just go quietly about doing our business. Remember last time this tall lanky guy came and you went, “Patrick who??”.

Mp3/Video Player from Enkay Blog 2007-07-23 19:13:17 Recently, I wanted to get a new iPod, probably a refurbished unit from the online store as I intend to give my present Nano away. I’ve been at 2 minds about it apparently. But hey, Enkay Blog is giving away an mp3 player with Video Playback capability in his giveaway contest. If I win, that would solve my problem wouldn’t it? hehe. Its alright, it doesn’t have to be an iPod all the time. It has 1GB worth of storage, uses mini-SD (which is fine by me as my phone uses the same thing), and has a 2.0″ TFT screen. That’s cool. Entering the contest is simple, just mention it on your blog, or subscribe to his RSS feed, or fave him on Technorati, or just do all three to get more chances.
As for the brand of the player, I don’t know. You got to ask Enkay. Looks like a Chinese make. But well, whatever works, its fine with me.

Tyler Cruz’s blog - Internet Entrepreneur 2007-07-26 11:28:21 Tyler Cruz is a web publisher and internet entrepreneur. He makes his living by creating and building websites and selling advertisings on them. Sometimes he does domain and website flipping and domain brokering.
If you never knew creating a website could earn you money, then Tyler is living proof that it works. He’s a 23 year old young dude comfortably earning the kind of money we could only think of if we slog at work. But he does it at home?! Well, his blog is really his journal of his entrepreneur work and it would do you good to check it out.
His aim is to build 3-4 huge websites around 2 niche areas. On his way there, he’ll blog some very useful tips on how you can develop your own site with forums and all. He has links to the websites he has done, so you could check them out too for some idea of his work. I kind of like the way he reveals how he actually goes about doing his work like revealing his “to-do” list. He does case studies on different product Read more: Tyler

The 5Ps and 5Ws of Blogging 2007-08-10 00:52:53 No entries the last week or so because I had been very busy settling some personal stuff. Now I’m looking forward to the weekend to let off some steam, maybe catch up with some entries. I was just reading Betshopboy’s The 5Ps and 5Ws of Blogging
, and found it very helpful. He’s applying marketing principles into blogging, which is practical since blogging does entail as a business for some.
Just as you would put thought into a business venture, you would have to do the same for a blog if you intend to generate some income out of it or just to build up a following. Failing to do so could result in extra work later on as you try to remedy the shortcomings of the blog. Get the foundation right and build upon it with a focus.
There are many e-books and programs out there that teaches you how to set up a blog and platform it for success, but some can be quite pricey and I doubt all are worth the money. There are those I am sure are worth it and you could consider getting
