Another High Profile List of Moneymaking Blogs

I’ve seen many bloggers talked about this list in their blogs. It’s the list produced by Business Week about How Top Bloggers Earn Money. Looks like Paula Mooney is not alone in producing such list. The difference is, the list by Business Week is much shorter but contains in depth profile for each blog. I was asking myself the other day this question. Actually, I can’t really remember why did I choose to set up a blog about making money. I can’t remember what triggered me to do it. I’ve haven’t used Google Webmaster Tools very much these days (probably I should have). The one thing I like about it, apart from the diagnostic tool, is the statistics report. And the one I think that’s most useful to get targeted traffic is the query stats. It lists out all the top search queries that bring people to your site, so if you analyse this list, you should have a better picture on your visitors trends. Surprisingly, the top search query that brings people to this site was Paula’s new list of bloggers salaries, and with an average ranking of 7 in the SERP, that’s a good position to make this site stands out. I know what you’ve been thinking. This blogger must’ve had enough of blogging - yes typical of those newbies. Finally, a PC

After a long wait, I finally upgraded my laptop into a PC. Can’t risk to have the laptop fixed and then crashed again. So I went out spending a few hundred pounds buying some components online, waited for a few days for the items to be delivered, and after a few hours of assembling them all (it took a while since I haven’t done this for years), it’s finally up and running until today flawlessly. It’s actually a gift for my wife (although I’ll be using it for gaming as well :D) since she’s been writing so well in her blog and couldn’t do anything with the laptop gone and all. This blog is ranked higher for ‘Make Extra Money’

I was supposed to report this earlier but good for me, the result is still more or less the same. Back in early September, while I was relieved from my blogging activity, I did check my ranking for the keyword ‘Make Extra Money ‘. Lo and behold! To my surprise, I was on page 2 for Google UK. That was quite an achievement for this blog since it’s been up and running for just 3 months at that time. At the beginning of this month, with my very low blogging activity, I checked again. And there I was, still on page 2. But looking at my ranking from other countries, some of them were really good, like ranked #1 in Google Malaysia, and first page for most of the South East Asian countries. Woohoo! Know what that means? Yup, apparently more clicks have been generated as well, and I’m pretty sure that most of them came from Google. This was confirmed when I looked at my Google Analytics result. Google Finally Updated My PageRank, and it’s a PR3!

Thank god I’ve finally submitted my mini thesis. Now it’s time to regenerate my energy to prepare for the viva, and to blog again after a long holiday. I browsed some of my favourite blogs today, and suddenly I realized that the Google Pagerank has been updated, at last. It was a relief to see that this blog received a modest PR3. From 0 to 3, not a bad jump eh?
