Resident Evil 4 on Wii - Slashfest!
2007-07-18 08:52:35
The highly successful survival horror series has come to the Wii with Resident Evil 4. Now, in case you have been on Mars for the last decade, these games place you in the midst of crazed Zombies trying to eat your brains and it’s up to you to save the day by any means possible. You can shoot them, knife them, blow them up or, if you’re not up to the challenge, run as fast as your little legs will carry you and get the hell outta there! These games have been superb on all the other console platforms but the Wii adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay. (more…) Share This

We’ve all seen the old fashioned remote controlled planes and helicopters but this piece of kit delves into the world of nature for inspiration. (more…) Share This

Premiership football is the headline act, with a number of packages available depending on how much you want to cough up. Great news for all those watch/music/bluetooth/mobile phone fans out there! Sony have announced that they will be releasing a new range of Bluetooth watches which act as a “wire-free interface with your phone”. Basically this means that your new watch will be linked via Bluetooth to your phone and, upon feeling the gentle vibration the watch makes when a phone call or text is recieved, you will be able to glance at the watch’s display to see the caller details. Amazing! (more…) Share This

Sky TV v The Rest
2007-07-15 18:35:29
Sky have been pushing their “See Speak Surf” campaign recently and it has worked well for them, adding 90,000 more subscribers in the last three months. They reckon they’ll have 10 million subscribers by 2010! This increase in subscribers is pretty impressive given the competition from Virgin Media and Setanta. I’ve had Sky for six or so years and on the whole have been pleased with the service. Sky + is a great piece of kit and I would be stuck without it now. Haven’t yet upgraded to HD but with probably do so soon, finances allowing. (more…) Share This

Sony PS3 Price Cut in US
2007-07-15 12:03:30
It was announced at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) that the price of that big lump of shattered dreams would be dropped by $100 in the US. It is still too expensive IMHO and only hardcore gamers are getting the console at the moment with most casual gamers going for the cheaper and more trendy Nintendo Wii. The X-Box, which had a good head start on the other next generation consoles, is also mopping up a significant market share. (more…) Share This

A Wii Bit of Exercise
2007-07-22 10:08:10

Virgin Media & Setanta v Sky
2007-07-21 08:11:40
Just an update on the continuing battle between the digital tv companies here in the UK. It seems that Virgin Media and Setanta have joined forces for the time being with Virgin offering the Setanta channels for free with some of their TV packages. When you take into account the fact that Virgin offers an apparently cheaper Sky Sports (even compared to Sky themselves), this probably makes Virgin the place to go to watch sport. Setanta have really sprung to the front in the last six months and it is the Premier League rights that make them attractive to the likes of BT and Virgin. It remains to be seen whether this deal from Virgin is as good as it appears but at any rate it is worth over £100 on the face of it. Check out Virgin Media for more on their packages and pricing. Wenger Swiss Army Knife - Humongous!
2007-07-21 07:44:51
Hardly a pocket knife at 9 inches in width but nevertheless this is the Swiss Army Knife to beat all Swiss Army Knives. Named after the great Arsenal Manager (just kidding!) I imagine that this knife is intended for display rather than serious use. Made in Switzerland, as you might expect, it has 85 fully functional implements and is said to have over 100 functions. A Rootin-Tootin-Shootin

Guns are bad, yet guns are good (in a non-lethal gaming sense of course!). A couple of gun related gadgets caught my eye over the last few days. The first is the Sharp-Shootin Remote Control available from Firebox. I guess the name is self explanatory - it’s a remote control in the shape of a gun. (more…) Share This
