Boring!!! 2007-07-17 08:04:03 I don’t know why, but lately life has been so boring! Okay, I’m not out galavanting as I’m laid up recovering from a knee injury (f00king stairs!).
But apart from that, nothing happens everything is so boring and hum drum!
Now even the internet is getting boring, I lost interest in gaming years ago, I can’t fiddle with the buses as again I’m resting the knee, I can’t go out, can’t drink (too poor to buy drink…that and I’ll prob injure myself even futher), TV is just crap (nothing on except menopausal women shows).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to go slashing my wrists over being bored, I’m just antsy as I can’t do much. I have no concentration to read (unless the book has pictures ), so I suppose all I can do is soldier on. I’m sure the knee will heal in it’s course and I’ll be back to the hectic life again. Well I suppose this break is well earned!
Anyone have any ideas to what I can
RIP Tom 2007-07-15 14:00:16 I just recieved the sad news, that my old neighbour Tom had died last night. So I’ve decided to do a brief tribute on the blog for him.
He wasn’t too old, had only retired recently, but as life is died prematurely of a heart attack.
It may sound weird, but Tom was my ould pal. My mam was telling me when I was younger I’d saunter down to his house most days and ‘help’ him with the restoration of his many vintage ‘Mods’. (I think I was more of a burdan than a help, but he had the patience!)
He would explain the innards of an engine, give me some carpentry instruction etc… Although I was only around four and can’t really remember most of it, it’s a nice thought, that he was one of the men that helped me find my bearings in vintage vehicles. In fact, his wife was reminiscing of me in my younger days, knocking at the door asking if ‘Tom could come out’!
He was a quiet man, loved his family and kids, as well as had grea
Sore Back! 2007-07-14 10:55:06 Have been in absolute agony since ‘Cork or Bust Take Two‘, my back mainly is just killing me! You know the pain you get when you’ve pulled a muscle, anytime you move it’s sheer shock up your spine and immobilises you!
The over the counter pain killers aren’t working, well they are for my knee which is also killing me from a weekend of being on my feet almost constantly! I think I need some horse tranquilizers…or other mind numbing equivilant!
Dunno what caused the pain, maybe carrying large Heavy Duty Bus batteries, Jerry Cans, Tow bars, Tool boxes, god knows what. Maybe it was sleeping on a 1 inch thick matress, in the usual awkward manor.
I Have been ‘As Seirbhís‘ since I came back, and I intend on taking it easy until I can walk without grinding my teeth. Just relaxing on the recliner in the living room arsing about on the laptop - with some luck I’ll futher the development of this place, like I did last night and got a lot of
PR3 Website For Sale 2007-07-13 17:19:29 I have a PR3 blog - www.Irish Humour Blog.com which I have decided to put up for sale or hostile take over
After some delibaration I’ve decided to sell it to someone who is interested in continueing it, mainly as I’ve no time to keep it active. I’d be a nice little website if someone had the know-how to optimize it and make a bit of money from it - I’ve made a few euro from it, so with the right SEO and content it’ll make someone some decent dosh!
It’s PR3, with great potential. I got it this far with minimal SEO skills, so if someone knew what they were doing they could get it futher.
Domain is registered with NetFirms (expires Jan 08), Blog is on Wordpress and Hosting is with Spacial Hosting (although buyer may need to find hosting elsewhere). All content comes with the blog - so what you see is what you get.
Not looking for major money for this, offers in around €15-€20. With the right skills you could easily earn that back through AdSense.
The Impossible Quiz 2007-07-13 14:08:28 I found this ‘The Impossible Quiz‘ this evening while rambling the internet. Lemme tell you, it’s an easy way to waste 3 hours…like I did. I’ve gotten upto question 49 so far. It can be irritating…but it is remarkably addictive!
Oh, and be prepared to look twice before you answer the questions! It’s set purposly to mess you up. But once you get used to it, you’re fine. And if you’re anything like me, be prepared to do the quiz time and time again as you’re too ignorant to be defeated…even if it is just a game!
Enjoy - I know you’re gonna hate me for it!
Back from the Armpit known as Cork 2007-07-12 08:13:53 Well I made it back from Cork in one piece…well barely anyway!
This working weekend plus two futher working days didn’t entirely go accordingly to plan. We departed and arrived on time, in the infamous ‘Ransit’ loaded to the bollocks with tools and other sundries.
We surveyed the yard, and got the Lothian Towcar going - first turn and off she went no bother. Let her idle for 10 or so minutes. Arrival of Michael Grimes, and Colm Lydon. Met in the office for a briefing - where Colm became a ‘menace’ to the selving…
We continued on out to the yard, making an inventory of vehicles to get, started, moved, and if possible cleaned. That was grand - “I don’t believe it…Isn’t that a cute trick?”…
Don’t mind my last statement, it’s an inside joke…more than likely you won’t get it until I tell you what it’s all about and what not…
Michael departed, we dawned the overalls and set
Cork or Bust - Take Two 2007-07-05 13:14:16 Well it’s time for Cork or Bust Take Two - The Bombardier saga!
Myself and the chief are hoping to leave Dublin for Cork, bypassing Dungarvin around 12pm tomorrow afternoon - if all goes to plan and he hasn’t to ferry those god damn spaniards around all weekend as he was upto last weekend.
Yes, the spaniards are over for their summer adventures and minglement with Irish culture…and scumbags. I’ve had the pleasure of a number of bus journeys to and from town with them and their overly loud conversations in what I think is either spanish or they’ve all dropped a hot iron on their faces. Don’t they know it’s rude to screech what resembles their mother tongue in a different culture.
I’m lucky that my parents aren’t boarding any of the fuckers, TBH, the money to house them all summer isn’t worth it. Considering; they are loud cunts, stay up all night, use all the hot water, stall the toilet up in the mornings, leave the house
I’m 90% Addicted to the Internet 2007-06-30 13:00:12
You Are 90% Addicted
to the Internet
The internet is your life - seriously. You spend so much time online, you should be a dot com millionaire!
I’m not surprised…I spend WAY too much time online - No REALLY!
Reminiscing of sites of yester-year 2007-07-18 14:56:39 I came across an old hard drive (from last year), of when I first really began on the dot com scene. And on the hard drive, contained many folders of some websites I started, but due to getting bored with them, or just letting them go to hell had a premature demise.
I found the original draft for madringo.com, with my attempts at a Contact Form (I got it in the end though!), as well as my first attempt at PHP Variables - It still confuses me :???:
I also found the files for some of my sites, no gone (or with new owners), such as NewBlends.com, Weirdsorts.com, Arse Biscuits.net, Fish-Co (for a mate), The Donahies.com, CIÉBuses.info, Irish Transport.info, and a few others which weren’t on a TLD.
It’s interesting to look at my skills developing, from the time I couldn’t use Photoshop, to the time I hadn’t a clue on how to use PHP (and didn’t know what it was!), to the time I couldn’t use CSS.
All the websites show off my progressive development skill
Blue Screen of Death = Laptop Dead! 2007-07-24 13:22:56 Well I’m in great mourning this evening after the premature death of my beloved…Laptop
! Approx 18:05 GMT, I was announced of it’s demise with the Blue Screen
of Death (BSOD)
I got simular to what is displayed above, as soon as I plugged my iPod in to the 4-port hub. So I powered off, removed battery, and then broke down myself (not really…)
I suppose I’ll have to get a new laptop, along with new camera, oh and a new PC. I’ve only had each of them for less than a year - but I suppose that’s ancient in the PC thug world…
Any recommendations? I was going to remain loyal to the DELL name, but screw Microsoft! And go for a Linux install and then sell the Vista license… - I HATE Vista…with a passion - so why not make some money from it
Well I’m gonna give my laptop into a the Computer Doc to see if there’s any hope, or if it’s terminal - I would have a go myself…but I’m not arsed!
Looks like I need a new camera 2007-07-23 09:15:28 Well it appears my old cameras (Finepix A700 & S3000) are well and truely fooked, even though my A700 is less than 3 months old - I have to admit I do work cameras pretty hard, so far it’s clocked up approx 2000-3000 images, mainly as it goes everywhere with me and I’m a bugger for taking photos of everything!
Well it’s giving up it’s battle, I don’t think it was designed for the punishment I put my cameras through, they’re in my pocket all the time - I’m constantly under my Morris Minor or else dossing about with the buses, it get’s thrown onto the desk when I get home, I get’s dropped, it’s been soaked (thanks to Steve with the poxy Fire Engine!), it’s almost black, it’s covered in scratches, oh and it’s fallen into a load of muck (down in Cork).
It’s almost given up the ghost, but I revived it for a few more weeks the other day. Took some parts off it, cleaned it, gave the lens a wipe, sprayed so Read more: Looks
The Blogger Spelling Test! 2007-07-25 12:34:00 I Scored a 100%!
I never was this good at spelling in school…!
Spelling is one of the most important things to becoming a successful blogger, mainly as correct spelling will aid in your Google listings - and that’s proven!
It also gives a good impression of your blog, and your professionalism, and pride in your work - it also says that you know what you’re on about on the subject in hand!
I have to be good at spelling, as well as using correct punctuation, and grammer for some of my sites (this isn’t one of them…as you can see!). Such as Motor Vehicle Preservation Society of Ireland website, I’ve to maintain a certain amount of professionalism, for both myself and the society - so much to the fact a lot of out sponsors and donators have been impressed by the website they have gotten involved with us!
So that proves spelling can be everything in a successful blog, and website - as much so as knowing your netiquet!

QVC Selling Christmas Stuff Already - It’s Only July! 2007-07-25 09:37:26 QVC is that shopping channel you have on your Sky Digital - that you’ve never watched for more than 5 minutes before wanting to stab yourself in the eyes with whatever useless piece of junk they’re selling at that point in time!
Well last night, while there was nothing on, I was flicking through the Sky (I know I live a dismal experience - just read the blog!), and came across QVC…and saw that they were selling - wait for it….stuff for Christmas
!
I mean, is it getting more premature every year, that they’re selling it before the summer is even over? I do think that it’s premature selling Christmas stuff before December…and it’s stocking up early if you don’t buy everything the week before Christmas
I couldn’t find a clip on YouTube of them selling Christmas stuff…so a guy saying he uses his computer for porn on the show will have to suffice.
Ho, Ho, Ho!

Is that the Sun I see? 2007-07-31 14:12:04 What’s this? 6 weeks of dismal weather, heavy rainfall, gail force winds, and thunder and lightening - just towards the end of the summer we get some half decent weather - how ironic is that?
I didn’t get to enjoy it too much, as I didn’t get much sleep last night, because of my poxy dog! [...]
