Does Your Travel Insurance Cover You Against Terrorism? 2007-07-15 16:19:02 If you slip and fall on the steps of the Basilica, chances are that your travel insurance coupled with your health insurance will cover the bill and reduce the inconvenience.
If your home is burgled while you’re abroad and you need to return home quickly, the right travel cover will reimburse you part of the cost of your aborted holiday and pay for your return trip home. But until recently, if you incurred a loss due to a terrorist attack, you might just have had to foot the bill yourself.
Recent changes made by many insurers expand the cover offered by their policies in case of terrorist acts, but there’s a very wide variation on what expenses are covered and which will be your own responsibility.
First, it’s important to note that your chance of being affected by terrorist activity is minute. Millions of UK citizens travel abroad every year with no incident. When it does happen, though, such attacks are widely publicized and make it seem that the chances of being affected are r Read more:Travel

Travel to Machu Picchu 2007-07-15 16:04:11 One of the most visited sites in the world today by travelers is Machu
Picchu. It is located in Cuzco, Peru in the high Andes Mountains. It is approximately 724 miles away from Lima, the Peruvian capital. A typical trip by land on a bus takes about 20 hours. One could also take a flight and arrive there in a heartbeat of one hour. The starting point usually begins in Lima.
The ruins sit surrounded by the Andes Mountains at about 11,024 feet above sea level. The name Machu Picchu
literally means “old peak”, translated from the Quechua language. It was discovered by Hiram Bingham on July 24, 1911 while he was in charge of a Yale University expedition. It was in this landscape that the Incas built Machu Picchu at the end of the fourteenth century.
The climate is mild, warm and damp. It has a year round average temperature of 55F during the day. There are typically two seasons, a rainy season which lasts from November to March and dry season, which lasts from April to October. Most tra Read more:Travel
Orlando - The Haven City for Tourists 2007-07-13 16:48:29 Did you ever sit down with your family to plan your next vacation and then realize that you just couldn’t find that special somewhere where the parents and the kids, and perhaps another relative or 2, could all find something interesting to do?
And on top of that, maybe you’ve been to all the interesting places within your travel budget anyway? Well then you probably haven’t been to Orlando
, Florida. Otherwise you’d realize that even Orlando ‘V-V’s’ (Vacation Veterans) can always find something to see and do in Orlando that they didn’t do the last time they were here, or even the time before that.
I’ve long wondered what it is about Orlando that draws so many people to this, the sixth largest city in Florida. Well, a city of less than 200,000 people that draws about 52,000,000 (yes, Million!) tourists a year must be doing something right.
It’s almost an understatement to say that the good people of the city want to give you the chance to see and do something new and Read more:Haven

Lightweight Backpacks - Some Ideas 2007-07-18 13:38:00 How light is light? Lightweight backpacks weigh less than three pounds, a standard I just invented. There are good packs under three pounds for almost all types of trips. My own Golite backpack weighs just 14 ounces, and has a capacity of 2900 cubic inches, plus 1000 more in the extension collar. It’s more comfortable than any frame pack I’ve used, but then I don’t carry more than 20 pounds in it.
The mesh outer pockets are a great idea. I stuff my wet tarp in the large one in the morning, where it’s easy to take out to dry later. I’ve had my GoLite for ten years. I’ve used it from the rain forest to glaciers at 20,600 feet on two trips to Ecuador, as well as in the Rockies, the Smokies, and in Michigan. Packed right, it qualifies as carry-on when I fly (I don’t like to check luggage).
My next pack will probably be the tougher GoLite Gust, which weighs 20 ounces. I just read seven reviews, all of them praising the pack. One reviewer used it for Read more:Backpacks
Costa Rica: a wonder unvailed! 2007-07-21 16:52:52 Costa Rica a jewel in the heart of Central America, Costa Rica is known as one of the leading R&R destinations. Once thought of as literally having precious gems and metals in its mines, Costa Rica was called “rich coast” by the first Spanish settlers in the 1500’s. At present, Costa Rica is precious, since it is a place that offers exciting adventure and awesome view of nature at its best. Nestled between the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, this country promises exhilarating bliss. San Jose, the country’s capital, is the largest city.
Roughly in the center of San Jose city is the town of San Pedro, surrounded by hillsides of coffee trees and banana plantations, this is where a large percent of the population live. Ticos, as the people here are called, take pride in their rich heritage, much of it seen in the structural design of their homes. One will be bowled over at the sight of adobe cottages with thick stucco walls with vivid pink or red as roof color Read more:wonder

The Country Of The Sun 2007-07-22 15:39:55 While I’m sure you’re aware of the land of the free, it’s a pretty common phrase, have you ever heard of the land of the sun? Well, you may not have, but then again you probably have at some point. The Costa del Sol, whose name means “Coast of the sun”, has recently been becoming rather well known as an excellent destination, both for holidays and retirement.
If you are planning on buying a holiday home, or just taking a vacation, the sun-lit shores of Spain is the perfect location for you. Usually, when looking to buy a holiday property, there is some negative factor to be considered. Maybe the locals are unfriendly, or the area is the frequent target of earthquakes or hurricanes. Not the sunny shores of Spain though.
Any holiday activity you might be interested in is available, from lounging on the beach to a night at a theatre. In fact, if the beach is really what you want, you might consider going in the winter- it never really gets cold, but there ar Read more:Country

The Top 3 Sexiest Beaches in America 2007-08-19 05:06:05
There’s only one place where you can wear practically next to nothing, in the middle of the day, in public, and get away with it. Where sipping an alcohol laden fruit cocktail mid-afternoon comes guilt-free. Where it’s easy to cast an eye over the beautiful bronzed body stretched on a towel near you. But not all beaches come with these devilish pleasures. Some are labeled ‘family-friendly’ - coded speak for busy with hoards of screaming kids. Others are packed wall-to-wall with the flab-ridden, pasty-white set.
But, if you choose well, the right beach makes a super adult playground. OK, you want to join in with the fun, so be sure to put in some serious preparation time. The fair sex will be familiar with the routine. Diet off those surplus pounds. Get waxing. Hit the shops for a serious session of wrap and bikini buying. Start applying the fake bake.
