What is a Chocolateria ? Never heard of this term before, but we might have stumbled upon a similar style cafe when we were discovering Darling Harbour. We saw a Lindt Cafe, which sells everything Lindt in it, from chocolate drinks, pies, cakes to chocolate bars.I assume a Chocolateria is some kind of a new word which combines Chocolate and Cafeteria, to form a word Chocolateria ? That night after we finished our dinner at Bimbo's , we took a slow walk down the street to this place San Churros. What is a churro ?When we walked in, you could see Sayang's face light up in excitement. You could almost hear her squeal in excitement like a child would (oh ok I imagined it) when she saw all those chocolaty items behind the glass case.They have Cakes, Pies, Ice Creams, Drinks and Tapas all made of Chocolate.One of those Chocolate Tapas served with White Chocolate Dipping...Another tapas, served with Dark Chocolate Dipping .... everything is so chocolaty here !!This picture above h

It has taken a while but I have finally come to blogging about the last city we visited in Australia before we came back. We were to meet up with some of Sayang's really good friends when in Melbourne

I am really excited about writing about this place, because, it we had a great time, catching up with old friends, we had beer, the place was some sort of a hang out kinda place.When we arrived, that night , it was already 7 plus. I remember the last time I was in Batu Pahat, about the same time last year, I spent 45 minutes looking for Beriani Gam Power JB, and when I got there it was closed. Not open for dinner konon. Luckilly for me, one of the Profs from UKM actually told me where to find Beriani Gam in Bangi.It did not take me long to figure where it is, because she told it is situated somewhere behind the Petronas Station next to NIOSH building in Bangi.It did not take me long to find parking, although you might have to walk 5 minutes to the restaurant. When I walked in, I saw a packed restaurant, and on top of that, the queue was about 15 people ahead of me. I am quite alright with that, because I can take my time to look at the menu, and decide what I want to eat.They have, Ayam Goreng Kampung, Ayam Masak Merah, Kambing, Daging Rendang, Daging and so forth. Sayang one day popped up with this idea of going to try eat something called PJ Paramount's Pan Mee. I have to admit that one of the icons of Kuala Lumpur, would be Wantan Mee. It is like Penang CKT to Penang, as in Wantan Mee is to KL. Have not heard of anyone telling me, the bestest wantan mee is found outside of KL.One of those older restaurants that serves only Wantan Mee is Hung Kee, situated at Jalan Loke Yew, for as long as I knew them. They have been there for ages, growing from just a hot and sweaty one shoplot eatery to now, a 2 Shoplot Air Conditioned restaurant.Its just one of those places you drive by, while using Jalan Loke Yew, and without you will definitely tilt your head slightly to see if they are open. There has already been countless posts about the Char Siu at this restaurant. Situated in Sunway Mas, it seems like whoever been to this restaurant, they will rave about their char siu. " Got or not ah ? " , "Got Meh ?", " Sure or not ?", thats the initial reaction when I read all those posts. So I told myself one day I have to go try this place out and I did, so here's my story....I had an appointment with the Jewelery Designer (Wendy), whom also has an office in the vicinity. Whoa.. isn't that the place where the char siu restaurant is at...I sheepishly set the appointment at 1pm during lunch time, so that I could go over to try some char siu.Our discussion finished at about 230pm and I proceeded to the restaurant. One of the stuff, that we were supposed to furnish the bridal room with was this pair of lamps. I've seen some more traditional ones, but, after attending a few of our friend's weddings, I have not come across, or remembered seeing these lamps in their room. Sayang was looking around in Jusco Selatan, one of those days and found these pair of lamps. Oh wow, I am getting married on Monday, and I am just learning about the cultures the our Ancients has been practicing. The ironic thing is about how the Chinese
people uses food items to represents symbols with auspicious meanings. I was very surprised when my sister in law, actually bought these stuff and said, its to be put on your bridal bed wan.... I really stun 9 only. But after they explained the various auspicious meanings to it, I also accepted it with open arms... hehehe..When the furniture arrived, my mom (the good fortune woman), symbolically installed the bed. The bed sheet's bought by Sayang's mom, which was very very nice to touch. Obviously, following traditions, it has to be pink in color. I never knew much about this restaurant, until one fine day, Sayang's parents brought me here. Then Sayang was telling me, this place serve pretty good food and the price is very reasonable also. It was not very hard to get convinced because, judging from the amount of people already in the restaurant, I mean it was full when we arrived at 7pm (40 tbls filled up).The Yam Basket with Chicken cubes dish, is a very standard dish to judge a restaurant's skill at cooking their food. The yam basket is thick and the when put in mouth, you feel the yam was finely meshed. The fillings was cooked with some other flavour other than the usual kung po, but I liked it. Notice the generous portion of the cashew nuts...We ordered a mixed beans vegetables cooked in sambal belacan. The four heavenly kings. can be regarded the next most important festival in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, after the most famous one, the Lunar New Year. It falls usually around Dec 22, and this year, its fallen on a Saturday. Usually, the whole entire family will come home and have a meal together.I don't ever recall myself missing any of these dinners, as usually my mom will cook up a storm. As I have grown up eating all these food, it is generally to my taste.One of my mom's must have, must cook dish is this pot of Vegetables cooked in Nam Yue (fermented beancurd sauce). This is also the usual dish or pot she cooks up whenever the family goes vegetarian on Day one of the Chinese New Year. The last time I reviewed this particular restaurant , they had just moved to their new premise here (that was in August 2007). & Chops. It had this banner hanging out in the front, with a really korny tag line, "Now everyone can eat !".
