missionary travel site 2007-07-22 22:51:00
I have a lot of admiration and respect for missionaries. This is especially so when I had visited a missionary
couple years ago in Davao, Philippines. Besides, our church supports many missionaries and their families in many third world countries.
So I am glad to discover a missionary travel site that is created specially to help this group of ardent servants of the Lord, who obey the call and serve with all their hearts to spread the Good News to those who need the gospel. Golden Rule Travel is run by a group of Christians who helps to negotiate cheap airfares and travel deals for missionaries. They who have been through this missionary journey know what it is to travel with limited resources when on the field.
Find out more about the site and its 24/7 service at http://goldenruletravel.com.
Sunday Quote of the Day 2007-07-22 22:30:13
It’s another relaxing Sunday
where I find myself sinking into a lazy nap after returning home from a pedicure and organic lunch with DH and Clayton. With our seminar leading up in 2 days’ time, I am rushing to finish up some errands before checking into the hotel tomorrow. While shopping for some skin care products, I came across a quote that I would like to share here today:
“For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.” ~ Ivan Panin
This week, make an effort to open your eyes, your ears and your heart to appreciate the people and things around you. Read more:Quote
merchant accounts for businesses 2007-07-22 22:25:42 After a long and busy week, it’s good to sink into a time of relaxation with my family with some good retail therapy and dining at our favourite places. This weekend was a little different for me. I was making observations while standing in the queue for my shopping purchases and getting my bill after a nice dinner. I realized that most of these shops and restaurants had something in common, that was, their credit card machines were often busy. In fact, most customers were making payments with credit cards and this had become such a common mode of payment in retail, restaurants and now, online stores in the internet. a stop to find help 2007-07-22 22:23:39 My heart always goes out to drug addicts who are struggling to get a new hope and life on their road to drug addiction recovery. As parents, it must be heartbreaking to discover that your children are connected to drug addiction or other addiction problems such as alcoholism or certain disorders. I have read many related stories and personally, can connect this to a close cousin who has suffered the sad repercussions of drug abuse.
If you know of someone who needs help or who is struggling with drug addiction, here is a non-profit, free referral drug rehab service site that will be helpful to note. The site contains lots of useful information and references in drug addiction treatment, alcoholism, drug rehab, relapse prevention and other related resources. I believe these information will not only help families of those suffering from addictions but provide the channel of hope for those who need long term or short term help. 1800nodrugs.com helps to connect drug addicts with the approp
our speaker is here 2007-07-20 20:31:05 After more than six months of waiting and anticipation, our speaker, Jay Levinson, Father of Guerrilla Marketing, is finally here with his wife, Jeannie. We are thankful to make a small profit from this event when 2 weeks ago, we were still hoping for break even. This year has been challenging but God grants us another miracle.
The event is only few days away and we are getting ready with all the logistics and making sure all details are communicated to the hotel catering and sales. Just when I’m getting things ready, DH reminded me to get an extra SD card for our digital camera, shop for some welcome gifts for Jay and his wife, confirm our guests’ list, photographer, videographer and hostess for the reception.
We are excited that the event is finally here… it’s another event of the year for us.
facts on Gatwick Airport 2007-07-26 09:44:41 For those of you who travel frequently to and from London Gatwick Airport, here is one useful site that offers the most comprehensive information for your reference. I’m not sure about you but I’m one of those who dislike spending too much on finding a good parking spot as it can be time consuming and stressful when you are in a rush. If you have travelled to Gatwick airport, you know the importance of pre-booking a good spot for your car since this is the busiest single-runway international airport in the world!
This website provides up to date Gatwick parking information and the rates, along with other features such as types of transfer available, meet and greet, valet, terminal and airport facilities, arrival and departure information and security issues. From the website, I found out that it is cheaper to stay overnight in a hotel (with parking included) than spending money on parking alone. Don’t believe what I said? Save the children 2007-07-25 05:22:54
Sometimes we are so busy with building our business, making money and providing a good and comfortable life for ourselves and our family that we can forget to care for the needy around us. So, it warms my heart whenever I know of business people playing their part in donating part of their business profits and proceeds to charitable organizations. One touching story is the one told by philanthropist and businessman, Navtej Kohli, who started the Tej Kohli foundation after a company’s trip to a farm in Costa Rica province. (more…)
on education and tutoring 2007-07-24 11:23:11 I believe most of us parents want our children to enjoy learning and do well in school. Sometimes, it’s just about getting good grades but witnessing the confidence in our children and seeing that they discover their subjects of interests. Looking back, I’m not one kid who was strong in rational subjects such as physics and maths. I remembering getting help from Math Tutoring in my high school years. I didn’t enjoy the tutoring as it was taught in a big group. The teaching method was nothing like the ones in Club Z! where students were tutored on a one-on-one basis in the student’s home. This, I find, is a better way to learn math as the teacher is dedicated and committed to help the student in a personal pace. The student can then feel free to approach the tutor confidently for any problems or difficulties.
Club Z! is specialized on dedicated in-home tutoring on a list of subjects including arithmetics, English, reading, science and more. If you are looking for
finally over 2007-07-24 11:10:30 I’m sitting back in the hotel writing this post and checking out this cool site which features some of the cool bed & breakfast inns in and around the US including Napa Valley, Santa Fe, Santa Barbara and more.
Our Guerrilla Marketing event had officially ended and we are thankful for another successful and great event. We had a crowd of 260 pax all geared up with learning minds and the dynamics were amazing. Most of all, we had a great time with Jay and his wife, Jeannie plus some other visiting guests from Singapore.
Each time when we complete an event, it is like a big load off our shoulders. And we will always be asking ourselves - what’s next? Now, I would have more time to do my own things, work on my new blog, and perhaps focus a little more on internet marketing itself. Along the way, I’m looking forward to a much needed rest too.
Dressing strategy that influences 2007-07-28 17:47:31 I used to think that image consulting is all about helping you look good, poised and beautiful but was I wrong…
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend a Dressing
Strategy workshop involving a session to learn more about colours and style. I never knew the power of colours on our physical appearance and its affect in our perceived behaviour by those around us. I was observing the workshop in preparation for an event I would be planning in October with image and colour consultant, Jill Lowe. With 18 top management men sitting in the room, the session was an eye opener for me. (more…)
moving guide 2007-07-27 13:19:39 How many of you like to move into a new place? Hands up! I don’t. Moving to an apartment can mean packing and unpacking, taking time to select the right place, comparing quotes from movers and spending time to shop for the new place. And for some who are tight on budget, you may need to think about getting a roommate to share the apartment with you.
I recalled moving in with a college mate during my art school days and though she was a nice person to share the apartment with, we both didn’t lasted too long. We both missed being pampered by our mums’ cooking and care. But if you are seriously looking for an apartment to move to, here is a resourceful site that will provide you all the necessary info, tips and guide to finding the right apartment, roommate and mover. The information even includes useful tips on moving in your pets - the dos and the don’ts. The guide also directs you to find and compare insurance options as well as financial assistance for your mov
on banking issues 2007-07-27 12:12:34 Now that our seminar is over, I can sit down and finish some of my online banking
errands. It feels good that a big load has been lifted off my shoulders! I have been doing online banking since I moved to Kuala Lumpur and I am so thankful for the super internet technology that has made this possible. Online banking allows me to access my savings and current accounts as well as pay my credit card bills. With that, I can save on other bank charges and enjoy the flexibility and convenience of doing banking at the comforts of my home. Actually, there has been talk about consumers seeking to reclaim bank charges since online banking doesn’t require any service over the counter. Many banks are charging fees for statements, letters and other transactions and consumers have questioned the fairness and legalities of these issues. I believe banks should start addressing these matters in serious light in order to stay competitive and learn to listen to the concerns of their customers.
guerrilla marketing in the internet marketplace 2007-07-27 11:13:28 It’s the same feeling every year after a successful and profitable event and it is good! I can now focus on some personal things and work on my blog a little bit more. During the one day session on Guerrilla Marketing with Jay, I have learnt few important concepts on this topic. And now, it’s about applying what I have learnt and putting on my thinking hat. In actual fact, the internet is one fantastic weapon for Guerrilla Marketers. (more…) Read more:guerrilla

business segment for medical pros 2007-07-31 10:16:57
It doesn’t matter whether you are a work-at-home-mom, stay-at-home-mom, entrepreneur, banker, lawyer or doctor, learning should be a continuous process to encourage our personal growth and inspire motivation on our minds and lives. It is good to see many learning networks built to encourage this lifelong learning spirit for all sorts of people, and here is BizRx, a business segment at med3q, a social network community for health and medical
professionals, created to provide doctors business news, management, financial information and more.
Knowing that doctors are constantly on-call with busy schedules, the segment contains 5-7 minutes long podcasts featuring industry experts, business advisors, lawyers, financial experts who share their experiences and tips on business practices. It’s a safe platform for doctors to interact, ask questions, contribute their ideas and network with other medical and business professionals. Basically, it is a place to learn with no sales pit
learning brings growth 2007-07-31 08:17:37 I just got back from a business/leisure trip from Singapore and it was one fruitful trip of meeting with few wonderful business people and catching up with my family. I love to network with business friends and a short meeting, whether over lunch or coffee, always inspire a learning opportunity for me. I realize that learning should be a continuous process no matter who you are and how old or young you may be. I had lunch with Stuart, my internet marketing friend who shared some tips with me on SEO. Then I had a 3 hour meeting with image consultant and expert, Jill Lowe, who would be my speaker for my workshop in October and seminar next April 2008. I can’t wait to attend her 2 day workshop in Dressing Strategy. For the first time, I’m enlightened on how our physical appearance can affect business decisions and outcomes.
As we begin a new week, may you set a goal to learn a new thing for the good of your well being and personal growth.
home decoration ideas 2007-07-30 20:17:41 Sometimes I can be feeling lost when it comes to redecorating the house or the room… I have too many ideas
that I don’t even know where to start. Even though I enjoy browsing home improvement magazines, I can’t seem to put my thoughts together which makes it hard to even settle for the right furniture or decorative details. Take for instance, I have been reading and researching about closet organizing which can be a daunting task when I have a limited budget. I stumbled upon Home Decoration Reviews, a real helpful site with all the resources and tips to help people like me who want to make the house beautiful but have the least idea of how to start.
It’s like a one-stop resource to read on how to decorate the room, select blinds, furniture and the nitty gritty of home decorations. If you have no experience with home styles, there are tips to guide you through and articles that provide knowledge and ideas. Though it’s a simple site, it contains informatio
image asset management 2007-07-30 12:25:50 Today was a fruitful day for me. I had two meetings - one with my internet marketing buddy and the other, my speaker for our image asset management workshop in October. This was my first time visiting Jill’s office and I still prefer the training room set-up on last Saturday as it was decorated with cosy arm chairs and classy chandeliers and elegant furnishings. I supposed it reflected the business in the most appropriate way.
Since I’m organizing such an interesting workshop pertaining to dressing strategy, I will share some of Jill’s tips on colours, style and image management in the next few weeks. It was great learning some interesting things about how our image can help us win a negotiation, get a grant or become a better business person or life partner. I can’t wait to learn more about myself and the value of image assets management.

Sunday Quote of the Day - Perseverance 2007-07-29 12:17:52
Two weeks ago, we were worried and concerned over the outcome of our event scheduled on 24 July. Looking back, we have been granted the strength, hope and faith that took us through. Here is one of my favourite Bible verses that has taken me through all these years of challenges, difficulties and trials. May it bless your heart today…
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be weary; and They shall walk, and not faint.” [Isaiah 40:31] Read more:Sunday

last minute UK holiday planning 2007-07-29 09:43:59 My cousin and his family are taking off for their summer holidays. Since working France, he has been too busy with work that he hardly gets a chance to spend quality time with his wife and daughters. They were planning
to spend couple of weeks in London. We had a chat the other day during a family get together and I just shared with them about my online experience in hotels reservation and they were impressed. Since they are heading to London, I suggested that they should take a look at the long list of hotels and other accommodation options available at Eurobookings.com.
As they will be arriving at Manchester Airport late at night, they were wondering if they should consider a hotel nearby to rest up before heading to the city for a few days. The nice thing about booking an accommodation at Eurobookings.com is that there is no reservation and cancellation fee, neither is there a need to make an advanced payment, like with some hotel booking sites. It looks like they will need to make
weekly thoughts 2007-08-03 04:41:15 This week has gone by terrible fast. I was busy working on our workshop in Oct and another seminar in that same month but different country. I am finding that time is so precious these days and I’m left with limited time to do my own things. Just when I thought I would be more time to build my blogs and learn more about internet marketing after the July seminar, I am suddenly swarmed with a list of things to do. DH came to me with his new business idea of marketing automotive detailing supplies but I have no time to even look at it.
It’s Friday and I’m heading to Singapore on Sunday for another business trip. This is a purposeful trip to meet a Manila organizer whom we have been working and communicating with for the last 2 years. It is nice that we are finally meeting. Wishing everyone a fruitful weekend ahead. Read more:thoughts

You walk into a business meeting and everyone starts shaking hands, exchanging business cards and the natural thing or polite thing to do is to look at the person’s card first before carrying on a conversation. a little thought means so much 2007-08-01 11:51:44
I seldom received special treatment like this but my DH came to me this morning with a magazine and asked if I would like this lovely sofa chair from Century furniture and guess I said? I was so pleased that he had read my mind after a shopping trip last week in a furniture shop. He normally won’t bother to remember what I like and fancy so this offer came to me as a lovely surprise.
Being working partners and life partners all these years, it is easy to take each other for granted. So these are little
things where we can do to add little sparks in the marriage and daily routine. A simple gesture can bring smiles and meaning that last for a very long time. Read more:thought

The name “Lanikai” literally means “heavenly sea” and from the photos and review
s I have read so far, I can’t agree more that this place has lived up to its name. The locals flock to Lanikai beach for swimming since it is known as the ‘best’ in Hawaii. Clear and sparkling turquoise waters, wide beach, clean, relaxing and mesmerizing, it looks like an excellent backdrop for the photographer, an awesome destination spot for honeymooners, newly weds or vacationers. I figure it must be great for water recreation like kayaking, canoeing, surfing, windsurf, surf boarding, parasailing and sailing. The long stretch of fine sand should be
Sunday Quote of the Day - Strength 2007-08-05 11:19:03
Something unpleasant happened to me two days ago which can affect my blogging plans and goals for this year. I was initially upset and disappointed but after a time of quiteness, I decided to treat the incident as an experience and stepping stone to greater things. We are often tempted to treat difficulties with negativity and frustration, thus, fail to look at the brighter side of things. ‘SundayQuote
s of the Day’ relates to my personal experience and today, this is that inspires me and I hope that it can do the same for you…
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
weekend travel research 2007-08-05 10:53:58
This is one of my reviews from my weekend research on some Hawaiian travel info for our December trip. I have been reminded that December is a peak season and that I should start booking my accommodations to avoid any disappointment. Since getting online help from a Hawaii expert is so convenient, I thought it could be a good idea to submit my request for some itinerary suggestions too. Besides, I might some further insights on family friendly activities and not make the mistake of trying to include too much in the two weeks.
When you travel Hawaii, be prepared to go casual, pack your sunscreen, your cool shades and nice hat. I am trying to find out if the waters will be too cold for snorkel or a swim in some of the lovely islands of Oahu and Maui. I believe I would be choosing to stay in condos instead of hotels since it is useful to have a well-equipped kitchen when you travel with a child. To save some money, we will be cooking some simple meals in the evenings since Hawaii is know
