so true
2007-08-06 07:01:14
Libra horoscope for August 6, 2007 You may realize that there is much at stake now, so it’s crucial that you find your groove and get as much accomplished as possible. It will get harder to stay focused on your current work as the day progresses and your mind drifts off to distant places and other times. If only it were that easy to slip away from your present commitments. Discovered Plaxo last night and set up most of my contacts on there. Still have to get the addy’s all fixed but for the most part I’m so happy with all the work I did to get all my contacts in one place. (just what I was looking for) Need to hit the post office today. I have two huge boxes to mail, which have been in my truck for the past week just staring at me.

Baby shower
2007-08-05 19:05:53
When you make the decision to never have another baby, you start thinking about all the wee little things you’ll never experience again. Trust me I.do.not.want.another.baby. I won’t hold a 7lb baby again knowing that it’s mine. I won’t have to dress tiny little arms and tiny little legs. I won’t cradle a tiny little head in my hand to wash his wee little neck. Going to a baby shower makes you see all the wee little things you experience as a first time parent. What a fun time to share memories, scare get excited for the mom to be. I found out that the mom to be is going to my OB/Gyn. Woohoo. She’ll be going to the hospital I went too and I’m so excited for her. Really. She’s less than 5 miles from my house and she’s having a little boy. I can’t wait to meet him. The host of the shower had three dogs. They were all dressed in a pink/brown polka dotted dresses. And in the bathroom she had pictures of her three babies….

The correct number of songs on my iPod (I know you all are sitting on the edge of your seat) is 11,965 songs. HOLY MOLY is right. How the hell will I find the time to make up playlists with all those songs to choose from. The winner is Beth (eajoseph) Congrats Beth with your guess of 12345 you came the closest to the actual number. Please email me with your choice of a 10 dollar Amazon gift card or a 10 dollar iTunes gift card.

The Fair
2007-08-09 12:38:11
Hit the County fair this morning with the boys. They were not all that impressed until they saw the petting stables and all the tractors they could climb on. This cow would not leave the boys alone. They did have anything on their clothes but this cow thought they had leftovers on their shorts. We had fun. I’ll be torturing you with more fair photos next week as the county fair hits Montgomery County starting this Saturday. Have you linked to Rock Chick today?

dang it
2007-08-09 06:31:53
Today I was planning on no nap for the boys. We would hit the Howard County Fair and spend the whole day checking out the moo moos, the ye haws (horses in the same reasoning as oo ah ah is for banana), oinkers and quack quacks. My plan was fooled yesterday when the boys DID NOT nap at all. Despite saying I’m tired, nap now. No nap. They refused to settle down and sleep until 8pm last night, and the wake up call this morning was 5am. *sigh* What the hell am I doing wrong? I cut off their juice yesterday after 8am. WTF? Please lord let them sleep today. I could care less about tonight. I’ll be out with her..so they can stay up tonight until 10pm if they want. I am thankful that the county fair is free for youngsters because if it wasn’t I don’t think I would be heading all the way up there.  Wish me luck. I’m going to need it.

Karma
2007-08-08 21:13:24
I believe in Karma. What goes around comes around. My lonely little blog is one ranked at 41 (per Technorati of course this is the same site that had me ranked as number 1 over the weekend)..so if you feel like favouring my blog there is a nice little favorite button down on my sidebar, linking to my blog, or just name dropping I’m in. Count me in. On that note, Shelly is having a little raffle. She’s one busy gal. With her Share a square campaign and helping out friends I don’t know how she keeps it all straight. I’m pimping out her friend Jessica, to help her become an A-List Blogger. So…add Jessica to your blogroll and get a move on will ya?

The boys are little maniacs
2007-08-08 08:00:35
They are running around my tiny house screaming and laughing. I must start watering down there OJ from 50% juice to 20% juice or something…it’s way to early to be running, screaming and yelling.

Summer Rocks!
2007-08-13 20:44:33
We went outside to paint this afternoon and we all had a blast. The boys were in great moods, I was in a good mood…we painted, Woody and I painted Cooper, Woody and Cooper painted me, Woody painted Woody. It was a blast. Randy came home to us painted and that scared him so much he wouldn’t even touch the boys until after they had their bath. *sigh* It’s fun to be messy….when your outside and it’s washable paint. Oh whatever you do DO NOT BUY the crayola gel paints. They say they are mess proof…oh they are soooo wrong. They were the messiest paints I’ve ever used. EVAH. DO NOT BUY THEM. Woodrow showing his work to dad Even Olie got a bit of paint on his head, nose and paws. We all had a nice bath and the boys are snug in their beds. My cute little maniacs.

I forkin’ love flickr. I don’t know why. I just do. You meet so many random people with random pictures. I finally made it into explorer. My corn dog pic has been in and out of explore for a while now but my 365 pic just hit the fans! woohoo!

I have created a monster
2007-08-13 07:34:41
If the boys are wrestling, running, or playing and they get a bump, bruise or scrape they both want a kiss. ASAP. They will cry, scream, make the kissing/smooching sound until they get a kiss on the exact spot that the booboo is on. If I miss the spot, they will demand I kiss the exact spot that the booboo is on. At first it was adorable. Now….it’s downright annoying. Randy won’t even do it anymore, he’ll tell the boys your okay. Go play. Of course then they run to mommy and the only potion that makes them better is a kiss on the booboo. *sigh* This also works when we play with our friends. If my boys notice that their little friends have booboos (old or new) they will kiss it better for them. While this is cute, adorable, sweet..It’s not always wonderful. Especially when we are at a park in our neighborhood and everyone there speaks Spanish and only Spanish and my son is coming up to a 2 year who has a very large scrap on his elbow and starts to kiss it

I subscribe to a lot of blogs. Just look at my blogroll page..that’s most of my subscriptions. I read about 88% of them.  If you have lots of photos I will read it all. I comment when I feel moved to. I don’t comment to get traffic, to be top ranked, to have you follow me. Trust me I like all that…but that’s not why I comment. I comment because I’m moved too.  That’s the main reason I’m not spunky, funny, silly in my comments. I just write what I feel in the comments, sometimes it’s just one word, other times it’s lame and silly compared to all the other comments but it’s just what I was moved to say. Lame I know…but that would be me. Most of the time I won’t go back and check to see if you commented to my comment. Honestly, I can’t remember what posts I commented on…tracking back would take WAY TO LONG. I comment, I blog, I twitter, to get all these thoughts out of my brain. Not all my blogs are t

Go zoo daddy
2007-08-12 05:44:30
After Woodrow’s nap yesterday, he announced that we must go to the zoo now. Now mommy, daddy, zoo. It was lovely outside so we packed up our stuff and headed for the zoo. *great idea little boy!* They were up until 10pm, but we had a blast. They were up so late because dh promised them ice cream. Here I thought that if they went to bed at 10pm they’d sleep past 5:30 in the morning. I know, I know I can hear the parenting police laughing their asses off. at DQ ~ Grape flavored Artic Rush is a big hit! It was a lovely evening at the zoo. It was quiet and the weather was very nice. Woodrow requested to see the Giraffe fifty-two times and we didn’t get to see them because the buildings were closed and they were working on the giraffe outdoor area. The beavers and seals were a big hit though and kept him from asking about the giraffe for about a minute or two.

i think I’m turning Japanese
2007-08-17 07:10:55
This song is stuck in my head today. I have no idea why..I haven’t heard it in ages. This video got heavy play on MTV I can remember seeing it several times..and yet the quality/theme/band is average. The lead singer needs a haircut so badly it’s almost to painful for me to watch. ah the 80’s…oh how I miss thee. Yes…I’m sharing it with you in the hopes that it will somehow escape my brain and into yours. *wink* I think I’m doing to much with the boys this week. I told them that we are going up to Frederick again this morning and Woodrow said no mommy I stay home. You and brother go. *sigh* If I stay home I will clean every inch of this house and we don’t need that do we?

DH: Why are in such a cleaning frenzy? me: um…Freida is coming tomorrow remember? DH: Oh right…but why the frenzy? me: She is the hub of the family, if my house looks like a hot ghetto mess everyone will be hearing about it Saturday morning. DH: You love saying hot ghetto mess don’t you? me: Yes, yes I do. DH: You do know your a white chick living in suburbia with 2 kids, a dog and a white picket fence. me: Yeah. DH: Okay well as long as your not saying it out and about. me: You think I would tell someone that my house is a hot ghetto mess? DH: I sure hope not. me: Thanks honey. I appreciate that you love me enough to point out my misuse of the English language. DH: True love at it’s finest honey. *smooch*

Throwback Thursday
2007-08-16 15:40:08
I have two friends who I grew up with. We all lived on the same block, in the same town through our tweens, teenage fun, and through college. We all went our separate ways when we hit our twenties. Lisa still lives in Howard County Maryland, Heidi lives in Austin Texas..and of course I still live in Maryland.  I miss the good old days when we would spend every second of every day together. Jeanne, Heidi, Lisa and I. Justin, with Lisa on lap, Heidi and I. In 1992! Me, Lisa and Heidi Love you gals!

Night Terrors
2007-08-16 07:56:36
They scare the crap out of me. Especially seeing my two and a half year old screaming his lungs out and shaking. The poor little guy was up from 1am-4am telling me no sleep mommy, no sleep, scared mommy. Woodrow has been so scared of every store on the planet these days. All the halloween decorations are out and he’s terrified of all of them. Whenever he sees a scarecrow, pumpkin or Halloween spiders he completelly freaks out and clings to me like flypaper. I feel terrible taking him anywhere..but what can I do besides tell him it’s okay, they are only pretend..It’s all for a holiday called Halloween. I wonder if all these images are what is giving him nightmares? Any advice? Please don’t tell me to stay inside until November 1st. i.can’t.won’t.do.it.

We had a nice visit with cousin Diana this morning. Four little darlings and two maniacs. (can you guess which ones my kids were?) Woodrow, Aunt Nancy w/Jasper and Isabella Isabella, Cousin Diana w/Woodrow, and Alexandra Evie and Coupe (aka the snackers) Alex, Isabella, Evie and Coupe Thanks again for lunch and the fun times! Hope you get a wee bit of rest soon!! The boys napped for a whole 20 minutes on the ride home so it’s going to be another 14 hour day for me. Not that I’m complaining or anything….

Do you want a gold star?
2007-08-15 07:14:37
Randy announced last night that he would do the dishes. We ate, I ran out for some errands, put the kids to bed and the dishes sat. We watched some DVR shows, at 10:30pm Randy fell asleep on the couch. I did the dishes at 11:30pm.

Dear Ms. Harley, I’m so thrilled to see you next week and to accept your invitation to the beach. Oh what fun we will have. Since you’ve moved to Michigan I have had two kids. My life isn’t much different. Oh besides two little maniacs at my ankles, and that I never leave the house alone or on a weeknight. I don’t drink (quite as much), or play pranks or tell my boss that she’s one sexy fox. (oh wait that was you wasn’t it?) I’m lame. I don’t have any wild stories about being at a conference/event with Wendy, Tom or Renee. No stories about wild and crazy nights staying up all night and drinking the night away at the hotel bar. No BMW convertible stories…nadda, nothing, zilch. While you’ve been successfully completing your law degree I’ve learned how to fold laundry correctly, get grass stains out of children’s clothes, change diapers and clean the gunk out of sippy cups. I lead one exciting life. While I know this

I need to buy more sippy cups..is it weird that I won’t buy them at thrift shops, consignment shops or other places like that? I would use a sippy cup from a friend I know but a complete stranger? iffy….it’s hard not to buy them at thrift shops though..they are forkin’ 45 cents a piece! In the store, brand new they are close to 4 bucks. Am I the worst parent in the world allowing my kids to have pizza for lunch and then chicken nuggets and fries for dinner? yeah I didn’t think so…. Is it normal for a dachshund to chase after and eat horseflies? Seriously…if you know Olie you know that he has OCD he loves him some fetch…but he’s like that with horseflies too…he must get the fly no matter what lamp, couch, bed gets in his way. crazy dog. I’m thankful today that Coupe is my second child and was not my first child. He eats like a champ, he sleeps like a champ, he is peaceful and calm. He is only hyper when Woodrow gets

Pizza Party!
2007-08-14 13:30:54
Cooper & Woodrow had a blast at Ms. Beth’s today. She hosted a pizza party with our friends, Jasper, Yael, Ava, Xander and Kyle. We had a good time. It was very organized and for a bunch of 2 year olds it was fairly mild and calm. Woody dumped green peppers (which I don’t buy because I don’t like them) and black olives on his pizza. He is a purist at heart so I knew he would have me pick them all off but he had fun putting them on. Once the pizzas were all cooked all the kids sat around and quietly ate. It was lovely. No fighting over food, no grabbing, no screaming. It was great. Thanks again Beth! The rest are on my flickr account. The kids were so cute today. It makes up for no nap today. Please GOD let them go to bed tonight at 7pm. Pretty please??

I really am packing here…the boys and I are heading to the beach. Olie and Randy will hold down the fort while we are gone. No flickr, twitter or WP while I’m gone. Signed up for MOPS this morning. I know I know…but like I said I need some religious direction in my life and I think this might help. I get two free mornings a month…so it can’t be THAT bad. We went to the National Aquarium yesterday and the WWII memorial. The memorial was more emotional and thought provoking than I thought it would be. It was a powerful place. The aquarium was ‘eh. Just what I expected really. An aquarium in the basement of the department of commerce can’t be all that…and it wasn’t. We had a nice afternoon even though it was damp, cloudy and humid. There are an awful lot of fountains at the WWII memorial and Woody tried to dive into all of them. My favorite pic of the day: Woody hiding up in the tree at my parents house. okay back to packing&hel

Family fun

Randy and I have lived in our house for close to six years..and we have always passed Savannah’s saying we should really eat there someday. Today was that day. The service was SOOOO FAST. I don’t know if it was the two very active maniacs we were eating with, but the food was ordered and came out in record time. A definite plus for our family. The food wasn’t half bad either. We did find out that on Sunday from noon to 6pm is their bargain time..so we’ll hit it again on a sunday. When we were leaving all this birds were hanging out tweeting it up on the street signs. It was pretty neat to see them all just sitting there ‘talking’. Even Woodrow said wow birdies. We hit a playground in Kensington and the boys were in great moods. It was a fun evening. The boys even let us fool around with a family shot…I still have to work on my composition..but it’s a picture of the four of us! That alone makes me happy…I’m off to look at
