Where's My Money...
2007-07-12 13:22:00
Greetings...If you like your Drum and Bass then you should check out an artist called TC and the new single "Where's My Money ". Its an explosive mix of D+B and Breaks, which merges into a deep bassline and a strong vocal. Check it out.I was really impressed with the first single off the new Dizzee Rascal album, which was titled "Sirens". And the latest release "Pussyole (Old Skool)" is equally impressive track. Its aggressive but at the same time you feel like you could move to it. Find it on the album "Maths and English"Following on with the Beats theme of this entry, try and track down these new releases -Example - So Many RoadsKano - Fluff The ChorusDans Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip - The Beat That My Heart SkippedChemical Brothers - We Are The NightFinally, check out a new mix from Craig Duranti (Resident of Moda in Lincoln). Its a refreshing mix of Electro and House from an up and coming DJ who clearly has big things ahead of him. Craig Duranti - selectronica

SHITDISCO
2007-04-13 04:53:00
Sorry for the lack of updates recently, been away for Easter.Really enjoying Shitdisco at the moment. Particular favourites are 72 Virgins, I Know Kung Fu, and the new single, "Ok" which is released on the 23rd of April. It is taken from the forthcoming debut album titled "Kingdom of Fear" which is out next week (16th April) on FiercePanda Records. The band play a kind of mix between the current new rave sound, rock, punk, and House/Dance beats, creating tunes that you can really party to. Its impressive stuff which you should definatley check out.

Bullet For My Valentine + Arctic Monkeys
2007-03-24 14:56:00
Just learnt that Bullet For My Valentine will be supporting Metallica for their show at the new Wembley stadium on 8th July. Thats pretty awesome news for the boyos from Wales, to not only be supporting Hetfield and Co. but to also be playing Wembley is pretty wicked and reward for their hard work in recent months putting the new album together, which I think is out this year so i am eagerly awaiting that.LINKI have heard and now own a copy of the new Artic Monkeys song - "Brianstorm" from the forthcoming album "Favourite Worst Nightmare" which is released on the 23rd of April. It's cool, pretty much as you'd expect from them, with the wicked guitar work and vocals. Its got a real punchy feel to it, especially near the end of the song where you think the song has ended but it cuts back in with a venom. Very good.

2007-03-22 07:13:00
Found this interesting article by The Independant's Jonathan Brown who confirms what we all knew already, that people into metal are not stupid braindead idiots as is portrayed in mainstream media. Check this LINK to read the full article.

Enter Shikari and Machine Head
2007-03-19 15:26:00
Bought the new Enter Shikari album "Take To The Skies" today. and it is good.Nice mix of hardcore metal and kind of rave type samples and beats.Stand out tracks so far are Mothership, Return To Energiser, and Ok, Time for plan B.The band have been announced as playing on the Radio 1/NME stage at this years Reading and Leeds festivals, which is pretty cool. The new Machine Head album "The Blackening" has been receiving rave reviews, so i think im gonna get that as soon as ive got enough money. Ive heard the track "Aesthetics of Hate" from the album which was brutal, so cant wait to hear it in full . Apparently out of the 8 songs on the album, only one is under 5 minutes which is pretty mental. Seems like Flynn and boys will be right up there with the likes of Chimaira and Lamb Of God, which is definatly where they belong.Tracks that ive found lately or rediscovered that are making me move are - The Virgins - Rich GirlsThe Vines - Get FreeSwitches - Drama QueenThe Resistors - DefaulterRef

In Your Face
2007-07-30 15:15:00
Hey, sorry for the lack of updates recently, been away for a few days.Whilst away I picked up a couple of Drum and Bass releases, a Drumsound & Simon Bassline Smith album titled "Nature of The Beast", and a compilation from RAM Records ("15X15"), that features artists such as Andy C, Concept 2, Moving Fusion, and Sub Focus. And it Sub Focus who I want to draw your attention to today. For many young aspiring producers, Nick aka Sub Focus, has realised the dream. Through his childhood he spent many hours in his room playing with his computer, making beats, samples and songs. Then one day, a friend of his gave a demo cd to Andy C, boss at RAM Records. He liked what he heard so much, he put out a Sub Focus release straight away. Since then he has come on leaps and bounds, releasing brilliant track after brilliant track. Its heavy drum and bass, with catchy hooks that draw you in. Be sure to check out the tracks below to see what I mean.Download: Sub Focus - Druggy SourDownload: Sub Focus -

We'll Live and Die in These Towns
2007-08-14 13:39:00
This evening I wanted to talk about a young British band called, The Enemy. The Enemy come from Coventry in the West Midlands, and formed in 2005. They consist of Tom Clarke on Lead Vocals and Guitar, Liam Watts on Drums, and Andy Hopkins on Bass Guitar. The band play a mixture of attitude filled Rock and Roll, high energy Punk, and Pop hooks. They have swiftly risen to a position of being one of the UK's brightest young bands who look set to be the next big thing. The band are very proud of their home city, Coventry, dedicated their debut to the people of coventry, and signing it with the phrase "While we sing together, we will never lose".The Enemy's debut album is entitled "We'll Live and Die in These Towns " and has just recently been released in July 2007. The album has received rave reviews, even going to number 1 in the official UK album charts. Although being young, the band sound well beyond their years, with a really confident sound. The band will be on tour during September
