The Sounds of That Ellison Victory Party 2007-07-13 16:52:53
Since some reader comments on the previous article reminded me of the sounds that were to be heard at Keith Ellison
’s victory party the night of his election to Congress, I did a quick search and came up with the following video. The disturbing sounds will begin at about two minutes in. If you don’t find parts of the audio “disturbing”, you weren’t paying attention on 9-11 when the Palestinian women were dancing in the streets in celebration, and you also have never watched one of the videos of an American like Nick Berg being beheaded. You might be better off for having never heard such sounds in conjunction with either event:
Here is a link to a 25 minute long video from that same victory party. And yet another video, shorter but low quality and overwritten with pontificating sub-titles. And here’s an interview from the same victory night with Ellison himself. He sure knows how to pour on the syrup; you’d hardly guess he atte Read more:Party

Muslim Congressman Ellison Compares Bush to Hitler 2007-07-13 09:03:30 Minnesota Congressman
Keith Ellison
is apparently too stupid to realize that Bush is actually one of the best friends Muslim
s in the United States have, or he just can’t resist the whips of his CAIR masters and has to pour blood on the liberal media feeding-frenzy always surrounding Bush. Scoring a few more points with his American-Islamic constituency can’t hurt Ellison either. I warned this fellow would be trouble long before he ended up elected to Congress, but the citizens of Minnesota apparently don’t read much of the Anvil.
From today’s WorldNetDaily:
Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., told a group of atheists earlier this week the actions of the Bush administration in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, al-Qaida attacks remind him of the Nazis’ use of the burning of Berlin’s Reichstag parliament building in 1933 to expand their power.

The Real Truth About the Cult of Islam 2007-07-12 16:53:13
This question has long needed clear examination: “Is Islam
a religion or a cult?”
Well, the apostates from Islam at ApostatesofIslam.com do an excellent job of giving you an answer in the following video:
exmuslim879 stated this in preface to the video; it makes sense to me:
There is a mentality that is infested within every Muslim, because upon study of Islam I have come realize the irrefutable correlation between Islamic teachings and cult tactics devised to control the minds of its followers. In a cult the members are trained to reject and disbelieve criticism of the cult as lies from Satan; such is the case with Islam. Islam emphasizes that you should not ever question its laws and the criticism of Muhammad is totally prohibited. So Muslims often avoid reading any critical views about their faith. Now, immediately we have a problem here because it is not a crime to think. To the reasonable person it should make sense to examine a religion before you follow it Read more:Truth
Islamic Glacier Alert: Muslim sues jeweller over headscarf 2007-07-12 15:20:12 From Business Week (hat-tip: Brian T):
A Muslim
woman sued a national jewelry chain Tuesday for allegedly not hiring her because she wore a headscarf, the plaintiff’s attorneys said.
Shereen Attia, 24, of Fairfield, had worked for Whitehall Jewelers Inc. in a Solano County mall as a part-time sales associate starting in 2004. She received good reviews but was fired when business slowed. Her manager invited her to reapply six months later, in Oct. 2006, when a full-time employee quit, according to the suit filed in Solano Superior Court.
Between employment, she’d become more religiously observant and started wearing a headscarf that covers her hair and neck, but not her face.
When Attia turned in her second application to work at the suburban San Francisco store, she was wearing her headscarf. She never got a call back from the company, she said.
Attia charged in the suit that the district manager had advised her former manager against hiring someone with a headscarf.

One of the Anvil’s Staunchest Supporters Passes On 2007-07-12 11:22:38 I don’t know how many of you may have known Sheila P. AKA Happypick AKA Lilolemiss, but she was one of those rare readers that pours love onto a blogger like myself and gives me that little extra steam to keep chugging along. This morning I opened an email from one of her old friends that revealed the news that Sheila has moved on to a much better place. It is with sadness that I type this news, but being part Irish myself, I know that Sheila would not wish for people to be disheartened at her passing, but simply to remember her fondly: Sheila was the kind of American lady that best exemplifies what this great country of ours, the United States, can produce.
Sheila was a nurse, a mother, a grandmother, a member of the Greatest Generation and the wife of a World War II veteran, Orville P. She was also one of the “wide-awakes” on the net, never shirking from a sense of duty and always sending me story after story that related to the current conflict with Islam. Ofte Read more:Passes

Smilies 2007-07-16 16:25:01
Well, just because even a blogger like me needs an injection of levity as part of his day (to keep sane), I’ve taken extra steps and implemented some fun changes to the comments box. Now you can add quicktag edits with the click of a few buttons instead of having to manually type in code. I’ve wanted that functionality here on the Anvil for a long time and I finally hacked together some code to make it happen.
But beyond that, the levity part comes in, and that’s in the form of smilies: Yeah, those. Standard smilies will automatically be translated into an image, so if you’re familiar with typing those, no sweat. But the custom changes go far beyond that. Near the quicktag buttons above the comments box is now a Smilie button, and by clicking that you will have a whole mess of smilies unfold to choose from in a popup window.
So, want to add a little bling to a comment? Want to rant a little more? Or perhaps you want to send a previous commenter Read more:Smilies
Spencer warns: ‘Jihad will destroy us if we don’t do anything about it’ 2007-07-16 09:28:24
Author Robert Spencer
gets a chance to stretch in an interview for a change. Here’s a taste from The Catholic Herald, ‘Jihad
will destroy
us if we don’t act now’:
“Above all, we shouldn’t fight among ourselves, but against global jihad. If we’re consumed with each other then we don’t stand a chance.
“Fascism lasted 25 years, Communism for 75; Islam is 1,400 years old, the imperative to make war against unbelievers is 1,400 years old and they believe they are fighting a 1,400-year-old struggle. And jihad will destroy us if we don’t do anything
about it.”

How to bury Digg.com 2007-07-15 11:33:24 Yes, as you can tell by the title of this article, I’m still unhappy about getting banned by Digg
for no reason that I can find other than overt censorship. I’m further annoyed because Digg administrators have chosen to ignore my emails and it’s now been almost two weeks of patiently waiting.
I’m out of patience. A few days ago I chose to remove all remnants of Digg buttons from this site, all Digg links except one, and I even had the audacity to pester at least one Digg stockholder, but he and his cronies refuse to debate me openly on an Ismaili website.
“We do not take open-ended questions, comments or contentious observations.”
Who could blame them, really; I wouldn’t want to debate me either.
So, how do I fight back against such a monolithic titan of a web presence like Digg.com? That’s easy: I find something better and then I tell you about it. I must resist the urge to get angry about all this, because after all, I still remem
Gates of Vienna blocked by Blogger 2007-07-18 13:19:35
Censorship of the Anti-Jihad Blogosphere continues from on-high. A cross-posting of Gates

Here’s a message GoV’s Baron Bodissey left in the comments to his latest post on GoV:

I just attempted to post at Gates of Vienna, and was told by an automatic message that our blog is suspected of being a spam blog, and has been blocked by Blogger.
The full text of the message:
“This blog has been locked by Blogger’s spam-prevention robots. You will not be able to publish your posts, but you will be able to save them as drafts.”
And here’s what Blogger says about what we are suspected of:

The Enemy That Must Not Be Named 2007-07-18 11:23:48
From journalist Paul Kelly comes an outstanding editorial that has many good insights, ‘An Enemy
In Belief’, although some parts I do not think are expounded upon enough, nor do I always agree (my comments abound), and I encourage you to read it all, as well as the mentioned Robert E. Kaplan article (linked below). With much thanks to Australian Anvil regular Gramfan for pointing these articles out:
SIX years after the 9/11 attacks on the US, Western societies remain psychologically and politically ill-equipped to manage the Islamist terrorist threat with its ability to mutate, spread and to spontaneously erupt.
While al-Qa’ida is probably weaker than before September 2001, the trends are grim: in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Middle East and within Western democracies, notably Britain, where the foiled doctors plot in London and Glasgow has links of some sort to Australia.

That Keith Ellison Reichstag Video 2007-07-17 09:53:16 KeithEllison
-Muhammad, Congressman from Minnesota, has really stirred the political anthill with his words last week comparing President George W. Bush to Hitler and at the same time hinting that 9-11 was an inside job. The fact that Ellison-Muhammad is also the first and only Muslim to be elected to Congress coupled with these sorts of attacks will surely come back to haunt him — well, to be honest his poorly chosen words already are, and there’s even a videotape:

Cyberjihad: Coming to an American hosting company near you 2007-07-21 16:55:14
From Hot Air via Allahpundit:
Nice work by McQ and MEMRI to shine a light on some of the rats running around in our basement. Yet another case of primitive ideology exploiting cutting-edge western technology, except this time they’re doing it from bases inside America. McQ gives the ISPs the benefit of the doubt by noting that most probably can’t read Arabic. In light of YouTube’s tolerance for jihadi snuff videos and the fact that it’s abundantly clear from the visual elements what the sites are about, I’m less charitable. I wonder if the feds don’t prefer to have them on American
servers, though: it must make it a hell of a lot easier to find out who’s accessing the pages than it would if they were hosted in Saudi Arabia. That was the military’s stated rationale, in fact, for letting the insurgent satellite network in Iraq continue to operate. Bad for propaganda but good for intel.

Robert D. Crane is a revert to Islam 2007-07-21 10:50:35
One of my favorite atheists shares some very interesting insights this morning that I feel worthy of a cross-posting. From Hugh Fitzgerald of the famously undhimmified Jihad Watch:
Former Nixon aide Robert
D. Crane is a convert to Islam
, and his biography — the one he himself composed — shows other evidence of mental bizarrerie (to see it, google “Robert D. Crane” and “Posted by Hugh” and “Jihad Watch“). He has a vested interest in protecting Islam, and protecting as well his own emotional investment in Islam, as a convert. At this point, he is unlikely to say — it would be impossible for him to say, given his mental makeup, to say or even to allow himself a glimmer of a hint of saying or thinking anything like this: “Yes, you’re right, I ‘reverted’ to something I did not understand.”
Islam is quite different from what the naïve revert may think. Those who are born into Islam and have managed to
Digg and Blogger banning more anti-jihad related sites 2007-07-20 21:25:05 Well, in the past twenty minutes I received not one but two emails from separate bloggers informing me that Digg
and Blogger
have both seen fit to label them as “spam” and ban them in their own way. A Blogger ban is the most serious since it disables a site almost entirely (i.e. cannot post), as was the case for 18 hours most recently with Gates of Vienna.
Who is the primary suspect behind this recent trend of censorship? Well, none other than the “Reverend” Jim Sutter. Jim thinks we are all Islamophobes and apparently that makes us hate what we supposedly fear. And that is his excuse for fashioning his own brand of fascism and hate and calling it “good work”.
Can you say hypocrite, boys and girls?
If anyone has any further information on who else might be behind the moves to ban anti-jihad sites or other politically oriented sites that do not cultivate a “progressive” agenda, please pass it along. Here are the two affected sites toda Read more:related

Flexing My Freedom of Speech: Cartoon Muhammad Roundup 2007-07-20 10:59:29 I’m just in a surly mood this morning (probably because I haven’t had my coffee yet), so I think I’ll just post some things here to annoy Islamists.
I’m sure many of you remember the wahoo that was created back in April, 2006 on Comedy Central when ‘South Park’ creators intended to air an episode lampooning Muhammad
. Comedy Central producers whimped out bigtime, of course, and no images of Muhammad were shown; tensions were still running high from the Cartoon
Riots.
Here’s that clip:
Well, it just so happens that Muhammad did make it to American primetime on ‘South Park’ back in 2001! You remember — that year. Here’s the footage to prove it:
Personally I think it would have been funnier and far more accurate if Muhammad had the flames shooting out of his butt, but that’s just my opinion. Oops! Did I just offend some Muslims! Deal with it, because apparently the following clip wasn’t supposed to offend Read more:Freedom

Boycott Islam: Calling the Blogosphere to Build the Company List 2007-07-19 13:31:08 A couple of weeks ago I proposed the “radical idea” of using boycott as a way of peacefully marginalizing the Islam
ic community in Western nations and forcing it towards a reckoning with itself. Well, today is finally time for me to put forth the call to the Blogosphere
and request suggestions for companies that should be targets of this boycott.
The criteria are simple enough. Choose from one or more of the following before submitting a suspect company to me: if you believe that you can verify that a company is exhibiting behavior that is pro-Islamist in nature or closely affiliated with a nation that is guilty of the same (i.e. Venezuela), is promoting Islamist propaganda, is owned and/or operated by Muslims (i.e. Saudis) to a degree of 10% or more, is supporting groups like CAIR, is a front for Islamic terrorist activity, et al. You get the idea.

Save the ‘John Doe’ Amendment 2007-07-23 16:18:25 I received the following alert from the Vigilant Freedom/910 Group today:
In Washington, a House-Senate conference committee on a homeland security bill is considering whether to include a measure to protect, from lawsuit, Americans who report suspicious behavior. The so-called “John Doe” measure comes in response to a lawsuit by six imams who were booted from a plane that was about to fly from Minneapolis late last year because they were acting very suspiciously, refusing to sit in their assigned seats, asking for metal seat belt extenders, and speaking loudly and disparagingly about the United States. The imams plan to sue not only the airline but the passengers who reported their behavior — a step that, if successful, could have a chilling effect on whether other Americans come forward to report such behavior or whether they decide that doing so isn’t worth the legal fees. Without this protection, Americans would have no reason to follow the motto of law Read more:Amendment
Response on a Monday 2007-07-23 11:31:39
I’m always reminded that I have Australian readers when I get this many comments while I’m sleeping. Oi!
Thanks to all (well, almost all) for your words of support and levity with regard to my would-be stalker from this past Sunday’s comments. Very much appreciated. Don’t worry about me. Even if this particular fellow was smart enough to use a proxy to cover his tracks, proxies are not often foolproof, and if he used a public computer, someone may have logged his usage or remember his face.
The bottom line is that I’m not so concerned with the fact that he threatened me as I am that he might lead authorities to other “interesting” people. That’s often how things work the past few years: you lift up a rock and all sorts of nasty things scatter in different directions.

Institutional Jihad: Saudi influence in U.S. classrooms 2007-07-25 20:10:09
Yet another institutional jihad alert along the same lines as other reports that I’ve brought to you here at the Anvil this year. I first noticed this report over at Michelle Malkin, but be sure to read all of the Stanley Kurtz article from which the following is an important excerpt:
Believe it or not, the Saudi
s have figured out how to make an end-run around America’s K-12 curriculum safeguards, thereby gaining control over much of what children in the United States learn about the Middle East. While we’ve had only limited success paring back education for Islamist fundamentalism abroad, the Saudis have taken a surprising degree of control over America’s Middle-East studies curriculum at home.
How did they do it? Very carefully…and very cleverly. It turns out that the system of federal subsidies to university programs of Middle East Studies (under Title VI of the Higher Education Act) has been serving as a kind of Trojan horse for Saudi influence

Bullet-Riddled Body of S. Korean Found 2007-07-25 11:49:51
Bad news from My Way News:
The bullet-riddled body of a South Korean
hostage was found by police Wednesday in central Afghanistan after a purported Taliban spokesman said the militants had killed one of the captives.
The male victim had 10 bullet holes in his head, chest and stomach, and was discovered in the Mushaki area of Qarabagh district in Ghazni province, said police officer Abdul Rahman.
The Taliban spokesman said earlier that the hostage was was killed because Afghan authorities hadn’t met their demands to release other militants from prison.

Baer discovers that, far from being a rabid, frothing-at-the-mouth, anti-American zealot, the boy was simply brainwashed into believing Al Qaeda’s ideology. Among the absurdities the boy believed was that the President of Pakistan, Pervaiz Musharaff, was a Jew.

Wanted: A Million Marchers to ‘Stop Islamisation of the USA’ 2007-07-28 15:44:42
Idea:
Write emails to the boys at Protest Warrior:
Ask them to spearhead a huge multi-organizational protest aimed at Stopping the Islamisation of the USA and the Western World.
Groups that should be involved in such a protest would be anyone from the Catholic Church to the ACLU, to 910 to the Minutemen, to firefighters to policemen to our elected representatives. The point is, we need to act upon such ideas and get the protest organized for some point in 2008. It should be held in Washington, DC.
Look, folks, enough talk. We need to either stand by what’s best in the USA and the West or we are lost. Why is it always the moonbats and Muslims that are protesting in massive numbers and not “regular folk”?
We just need enough outrage to get moving. I say it’s time to stop all this damn talk and pick up a sign, wear a t-shirt, get MSM attention and wake up our nations to the stark reality of what price will be paid if we continue to act like sheep and lemmings.
