SBC Cookout 2007 2007-07-06 23:00:00 Sharon LakesFranklinville, NJToday we went to the annual church cookout with our SBC family for the first time. My Mommy's friend, Marsha, went too. Sharon Lakes is a really cool place to be on hot summer day. There was so much to see and do...volleyball, basketball, tennis, swimming, horseback riding, hay rides, kiddy rides, music, good food, and water ice! There are a lot of people in the SBC family and so many kids to play with. A few of them wandered into our camp spot to meet me and say "Hi!". Everybody had on their SBC t-shirts and I had one too. When we were at our camp spot, I played with my ball, frisbee, and "bubbles" with Grammy. I also rode all around the camp grounds in my car and watched something called a "volleyball game" with Pop-Pop. My Mommy, Pop-Pop, and Marsha took me to the lake to play in the water too and that was a lotta fun! Grammy said that Pop-Pop kinda looks like a man called "John the Baptist" in the pics but we were just splashing around and having a go

King Family Picnic 2007 2007-07-03 23:00:00 Annual Gathering at Smedley ParkSpringfield, PAToday my Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop took me to a family picnic to celebrate "Independence Day"! I think I remember going to this picnic last year when I was a baby and only 6 months old. Everybody was holding me, passing me around, and I couldn't walk or do anything. Well, I'm a big boy now and I was all over the place. What a difference a year makes! It was good to see so many of my family members again. Some of them I haven't seen since the picnic last year. There was plenty of food and fun to go around. I saw a water ballon fight, a "Super Soaker" fight, a football game, a game of horse shoes, people jumping rope, and lots of other stuff. The highlights for me were riding in my Cousin Shawn's red car (just like the one Cousin Miles has) and playing with my ball and bubble gun. We also had a birthday party for Cousin Brandon...he turned 4 years old! We sang the "Happy Birthday" song, he made a wish, and we all helped him eat his cake Read more:Family

aday@thecarnival-circus 2007-06-29 23:00:00 Dreamland Carnival & Victoria CircusMemorial Hall in Fairmount ParkJune 28th - July 7th!Guess what? My Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop took me to something called a "carnival-circus" today! What can I say...I was just in awe of everything I saw and heard. At the carnival, I got a chance to ride on some really fun things, eat, walk, and run until I was ready to drop. My Mommy's friend, Marsha, came to the carnival too. They got on some rides together and both of them screamed a lot. My Pop-Pop got on some rides with me but there were other rides that the people at the carnival wouldn't let me get on with him because they said I was too little. My Grammy was just running around taking pics of everything in site! At 7:00pm, the circus started and I saw a man walk across a wire with a pole, then he rode across the wire with a bike, and then he walked across the wire with a pole and a black hood on his head! There was one moment when everyone got real scared because he almost fell off the
All Day Music 2007-06-22 23:00:00 My Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop took me to something called an "outdoor concert" today. We drove to a place called the Cheltenham Mall to park the car and got on some funny looking thing called a shuttle bus. I liked the ride on the bus and it took us to a place called West Oak Lane. When we got off the bus, there were people everywhere, lots of food, and music! There were a lot of people selling something called art too. We decided to get something to eat and then we sat in the chairs we brought for the concert. My Grammy told me that we were going to see an "ol' skool band called WAR". I didn't know what ol' skool meant and I didn't know who WAR was either. My Mommy said she knew who they were because Grammy and Pop-Pop played their music around the house all the time. Anyhoo, WAR came on stage and the concert started. I liked the music a lot so, I started doing my "Booga Bounce". After each song, everybody clapped their hands so, I did too. When the concert was over, we got on tha Read more:Music
"Color Him Father" 2007-06-15 23:00:00 Today was all about someone very special to me...my Pop-Pop! Hanging out with him is always fun and we spent the day doing whatever he wanted to do. Two of his favorite things to do are eating out and going to the movies so, that's what we did. First, we took him to the Bahama Breeze restaurant in King of Prussia, PA. The food was really good and I had to share the attention I usually get from all the waitresses with Pop-Pop because it was Father
's Day. After we ate, we took off for the movies. While we were there, we saw a family named "The Simpsons" (Whoever they are?) sitting on a couch in the lobby. My Grammy wanted us to take some pictures with these people but, they seemed kinda strange to me. They didn't move or talk at all! My Mommy said that they were on TV and will be in a movie real soon. It seems like we always run into somebody famous whenever we go out. My Pop-Pop had a nice time and we just wanted to let him know that we think he's the best. We love you Pop-Pop!Outs Read more:Color

A Day To Remember... 2007-05-27 23:00:00 A New AdventureToday, I went to Penn's Landing and a place called the "Adventure Aquarium" in Camden, NJ. I was hoping to strike out on my own but my Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop had to tag along. Of course, I did need them to pay for things so, perhaps it's good that they came too. First, we went inside something called a "museum" on the waterfront. It was a quiet place but there was a lot to see. Because my Grammy saw the Pirates of the Caribbean movie this weekend, she thought I just had to have a pirate hat from the museum gift shop. I didn't really like the hat so, she made everyone else wear it so she wouldn't have to feel like her money went to waste (whatever that means).Next, we took a ride in something called a "ferry boat". The boat was in the biggest bathtub I've ever seen! It was SO BIG, you couldn't even see the tub...just the water. My Mommy said that we were in Philadelphia when we got on the boat but, we would be in Camden when we got off the boat. When we got to t Read more:Remember
Mother's Day w/ Mommy 2007-05-12 23:00:00 Me and Mommy
celebrated her second Mother's Day today. My Grammy, Pop-Pop, and Pumpkin Pie spent the day with us too. First, we went to a place called "Famous Dave's BBQ" in Springfield, PA. The food was really good and I got a chance to meet "Wilbur" (The Pig)! Grammy asked him to take a pic with me and he was more than happy to do it.Next, we all walked over to a place called "Target" so Mommy could pick up some more stuff that I needed. I got a chance to ride around in the shopping cart (one of my favorite things to do) and meet some really nice people. I made sure to wish all the mommies I saw a "Happy Mother's Day!" Last, and best of all, we went to the park. I had a chance to swing, slide, ride a rocking fish, and just go whereever my feet would take me. It was a great day and I know Mommy had fun too! From Mommy, Grammy, Pop-Pop, and me!

My First Haircut! 2007-04-27 23:00:00 News Flash: My Mommy and Pop-Pop took me to get my first haircut today. We went to a place called a "barber shop" to see a man called a "barber". He used something that made a lot of noise to cut my hair off. I didn't quite know what to make of it all but, I tried really hard to be a big boy about the whole thing. The barber was a very nice man, Pop-Pop was there to hold my hand while Mommy took pics, and I didn't cry until the very end. Maybe I was just a little upset because my hair was all over my lap and not on my head! When it was all over, my Mommy kept asking, "What happened to my baby?" I told her, "I'm right here...I just don't look like a baby anymore!"Heads Up: Now that my hair is cut and looking "fresh", me and Mommy are going to Sears to have some new pics taken. I can't wait to see my new "big boy" look. Come back tomorrow to check out the proofs. See you then! Love, "The Booga" Read more:First

Booga Update 02/24/07 2007-02-23 23:00:00 Dear Family & Friends,I am 1 year + 1 month old today. Since I don't see the doc every month anymore, I guess my stats are 23 lbs.+ 30 inches long. Who cares anyway...the point is, I'm officially a "big boy" now because my top story for the month isI CAN WALK!That's right folks...I can finally do it and it feels great! There's just no stopping me now. I'm really keeping my Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop on their toes because I'm just all over the place. Look out E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G, here I come! On the day care front, I am right in the middle of all the action with my friends. No more sitting on the sidelines and just watching for me...I'm all up in the Kool-Aid, know the flava, and it's all good!Backin' up just a little, the month didn't get off to such a great start. I had a bad chest cold for about 2 weeks. My Mommy took me to some place called "CHOP" so the doc could take a look at me. As always, I really enjoyed all the attention from the nurses. If you haven't guessed it y Read more:Update
The Booga & "Racoon" 2007-02-12 23:00:00 The Name Game I would like for you to meet my new friend. He's something called a "racoon".My Great Aunt Wanda gave him to me.He's really neat!Mommy can put him in something called a "microwave" for a little while so he can keep me warm when it's cold. She can also put him in something called a "freezer" for a little while so he can keep me cool when it's hot.The only thing is, I don't have a name for him.If I promise not to take a long as Grammy did to make up my mind, would you help me pick a name for him?You can note your name suggestions for "racoon" in the comments.Great Aunt Wanda, thank you so much for my special friend. Thanks for your help! The Booga

Booga Update 01/24/07 2007-01-23 23:00:00 Dear Family & Friends,It's my birthday and I turned one year old today! I am 22 lbs + 14 ozs and 30 inches long. Me and my 7 teeth are now eating all kinds of table food. It looks like another tooth (bottom) will be putting in an appearance real soon. I still drink from bottles once in a while but, I really like my sippie cups! I'm not walking on my own just yet but, I have a feeling it will happen any day now. I've taken several steps without holding on to anything or anyone...but only when I'm not thinking about it. A few days ago, I walked all the way down the hallway by myself! My Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop said they were very proud of me. I got lots of smiles, hugs, kisses, cheering, and hand clapping when I got to the end of the hallway. They all seemed so happy, I decided to join in and give myself a hand clap too. I've been standing alone and taking a few steps at day care too so, I know it won't be long before I can walk and run with all my friends. Ms. Bea and Ms. Nyeis Read more:Update

Inner City Blues (Make Ya Wanna Holler)? 2007-08-11 23:00:00 I'm b-a-c-k! I know I've been missing in action for a while but that's because Mommy said it was too hot to do anything except stay inside under something called an "air conditioner". I don't really know what that is but I know it made us feel nice and cool. It was so hot that I even learned how to say the word "hot"! Anyhoo, I'll try to bring you up to speed on some of the goings on since my last post.I saw the doc for my 18 month check-up a while ago. He said that I weighed 25 lbs + 6 ozs and I'm 31 inches tall (it's a been a while since I've reported my stats). He asked my Mommy if I was doing things like talking, feeding myself, and climbing stairs. I've been talking for a while now but no one seems to know what I'm saying. People want me to repeat what they call "real" words but I'm a leader, not a follower...they should repeat after me! I can feed myself too but I have to work on the mess that I make when I do it. I really like climbing the stairs but I'm only allowe Read more:Blues
