Chris Rankin's Thoughts on 'OotP' 2006-11-05 20:48:00 The actor who plays Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter films, ChrisRankin
, just updated his official website on October 22nd and posted his thoughts on the 5th film:I've also been back filming for HP5 (The Order of the Phoenix) which is looking to be pretty amazing - I finish for that next friday - so keep your eyes peeled - a teaser trailer is on it's way by the end of November. It's going to be a brilliant movie!Make sure to check out the website for future updates from Chris about his acting career. I'm glad Chris is back! I can't wait to see him as the oh so annoying Percy who breaks his mum's heart in this movie. I wonder what scenes they'll have of him...Thanks Veritaserum!

Contest Winners!! 2006-11-06 06:47:00 The "First-Ever Chocolate Frog Pimp Your Myspace" Contest
officially ended on Friday, and after careful perusal of all the fantastic entries (and when I say fantastic, I mean it was really hard to decide......like really, really hard!), we have decided on the First, Second, and Third Place Winners
!Third place goes to Several Sunlit Days (Rosemery) for her lovely Harry/Ginny shipper page! Here is what she had to say about her design:My page basically embodies of what I beleive the essence of Ginny and Harry. There relationship, though short, was very turbulent and dark (due to the loom of the Dark Lord surrounding Harry) which is why I chose the shades of gray as the color scheme. I chose the song "she's so high," because after Harry finally sees Ginny for who she is, he falls in love with her as he admires who she is as a person. It was obvious to us that she worked very hard, and really thought out her design. Congrats Rosemery! Here's the link to your banner should you wish to post
Fanart of the Week 2006-11-06 06:41:00 This week we've chosen a little Luna Lovegood/Neville Longbottom drawing! I know, I know....JK Rowling says no dice for Luna/Neville, but I still love them anyways. The drawing is by the simply marvelous Cambryn_d.Link to "Neville and Luna".Click here to see more of Cambryn_d's art! Read more:Fanart
JK Rowling Named Hero by Time Europe 2006-11-06 23:49:00 To commemorate their 60th year of publication, Time Europe
has released a special edition entitled "60 Years of Heroes". This list includes such people as Mikhail Gorbachev, Nelson Mandella, Bono, and our very own JK Rowling
! Here is what they had to say about Ms. Rowling:"Always have faith in yourself. Be true to your friends. And never repot a mandrake plant without wearing earmuffs (their screams are fatal, you know). As any Harry Potter fan knows, you don't need a wand to learn life's most important lessons. Harry may have been born a wizard, but his journey through adolescence is purely human. For kids, he's a trusted companion during that awkward, angst-ridden adventure called growing up. For grown-ups, his escapades offer the chance to feel like a kid again. And that is J.K. Rowling's greatest trick: remembering the thrills, and fears, of being young. Starting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Rowling's six books have been translated into over 60 language
Dan and Robert at Exceptional Youth Exhibition 2006-11-06 22:34:00 Our two favorite Triwizard champions, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, of course) and Robert
Pattison (Cedric Diggory), recently made an appearance at the opening night of the Exceptional
Youth Exhibition
at London's National Portrait Gallery. As reported a few weeks ago, a portrait of Dan is featured in the exhibit of "exceptional young Britons", and we all know he is quite exceptional! You can see some photos online of Dan and one of Robert on Getty Images, so make sure to hop over and check them out. Thanks Leaky!

Rupert Squarepants? 2006-11-07 14:50:00 In another "Driving Lessons" interview Rupert
was asked if the lack of Quidditch in the fifth movie was good or bad for his character. His response?"I've never filmed them before. It is all on blue screen. I doubt it would be all that much fun, but it would have been quite good to fly around."There will be no "Weasley is our King" in the fifth film, unfortunately.Rupert was also asked who he would be if he could be anyone for 24 hours. He said Spongebob Squarepants
! HAHAHA!Thanks for the tip, Leaky!

Trailer Description Update 2006-11-10 20:27:00 Yesterday we gave you a link to a more detailed description of the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix teaser trailer, and according to Leaky today, some of the dialogue in the description will not be included in the final version of the trailer that we'll get to see. Leaky thinks that it may be a description of the international trailer to be released at a later time, and that the description over at Dissendium is probably the most accurate. Sorry for the confusion, guys! We're rather confused too. We'll be sure to let you know when we find out anything else. Read more:Trailer

Fanart of the Week 2006-11-11 17:21:00 This week's fanart is a cute scene of Lily, James, and baby Harry napping together on the bed. (Isn't baby Potter so cute?) It's such a warm and cozy little piece of art, yet it makes you kind of sad, knowing that Voldemort will soon break up the family, leaving poor Harry without his parents.Afternoon Nap at Godric's Hollow by Laura ChantYou can find more artwork by Laura Chant at her gallery at Artistic Alley. Wizard Rock Song of the Week 2006-11-11 18:38:00 This week's Wizard
Rock Song of the Week is a band I just found last night! I had a hard time deciding which song to choose for Song of the Week, but in the end I had to go with the one that drew me to them in the first place. The group is called The Mudbloods, and the song I chose is "Freedom is Only a Hippogriff Away".The Mudbloods consist of Adam Dubberly (guitar, vocals, drums, keyboards), David Matsler (guitar, vocals, drums, piano, turntable), and Brandon McCullough (bass). This song has a real folksy, classic rock feel to it, and their fabulous voices and stunning lyrics add together to create a beautiful product. When I reach my destination shoreMy cave out by the seaI'll sit all day by my fire drinking whiskeyTil I know my name is cleanAnd with a little bit of loveWith a little bit of lifeWith a little bit of sunshineOh, with a little bit of timeYou know it, I'll be goneAs always, you can check the song out on our myspace, but I challenge you to take the trip over to their m Read more:Wizard Rock

I've had it in my pocket for awhile, saving it for a rainy day, and this just happens to be one. It's set to Boyz II Men's "Hard to Say Goodbye", and it has major spoilers of course.Link to the video.Video by PhantasmKiss.
