Video of the Day 10/27/2006 2006-10-27 07:29:00 I found a truly wonderful video, set to "Hero" by Chad Kroeger! The song is so perfect, cause Harry is so our Hero! I love the ending, too......Lucius Malfoy's line about Harry always being there to save the day, and Harry's stoic, very hero-ey response, "Don't worry, I will be..."Link to the video.Video by NepEnut.
Wizard Rock Song of the Week 2006-10-27 07:09:00 This week's Wizard
Rock Song of the Week is by a group called Roonil Wazlib (I know, don't you just love the name?)! This rockin' group is comprised of Molly, a 17-year-old musician from California. She has a really great voice, and very lovely lyrics! So far we've only had songs about Hogwarts students, but this week we're going to branch out into the adults....namely the matriarch and patriarch of the Weasley clan, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley! These two are most definitely two of my favorite characters in the Potterverse. It is obvious the love they share for one another is the glue that keeps their family together. The song "Mollywobbles" is a Weasley love song told from Molly Weasley's point of view.My favorite parts:You may not be the Minister of MagicBut you're quite happy with the simple muggle gadgetsFell in love with you way back in schoolSneaking around, thought we broke every ruleIt all comes down to loveAnd that's what keeps me here with youWith you by my sideI'm ready to Read more:Wizard Rock

Video of the Day 10/26/2006 2006-10-26 06:47:00 This video is so much fun! It's a really quick recap of Harry's first four years set to Ok Go's "Here it Goes Again"! It's a great song that makes you want to dance, and some really awesome editing with Harry Potter scenes! The ending is just perfect, too....I hope you all enjoy it!Link to the video.Video by Rookie 15.
Video of the Day 10/25/2006 2006-10-25 19:17:00 I love the Weasley Twins! They add so much humor to the books. I couldn't imagine the Harry Potter world without "Gred and Forge". They're always up to something. Today I found the perfect video tribute to them featuring the song "Revolution" by The Beatles. Enjoy!Link to watch.Video by Sound

Video of the Day 10/30/2006 2006-10-30 23:20:00 Has anyone heard the touching song, "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts? I'm sure you have..it's quite popular. Anyway, it's a favorite of mine because of the meaningful lyrics:My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can holdToday, in my search for a video, I found one that features this song. It is from the point of view of Harry's parents, Sirius, Lupin, The Weasleys, Dumbledore, and all of those who care for him and wish the best for him. It's truly wonderful. You might want to have some tissues handy. It's a tearjerker..Video by hotpinkscrubs.

JKRowling.com Updated! 2006-10-31 23:48:00 In this slow news week, we've finally caught a break: JK Rowling has updated her website! We must consider this our treat for Halloween, one of the most important days in the Harry Potter series. While any update Jo makes generally causes a flurry of action in the Potter fandom, these several were particularly interesting to me.Remember when we reported that Jo was trying to decide between two different titles for book seven? Well, it seems a third title has now made it into the mix. "Title three currently ahead by a short nose, or perhaps that should be a vowel and two consonants," was Jo's cryptic message. The website's "Extras" section has a new entry clarifying the difference between spells, charms, hexes, and curses, which is an interesting read. Those who took the recent W.O.M.B.A.T test will be happy to see that Jo sends her congratulations out to you! She says you're getting "pretty good"! And last, but certainly not least, Jo writes to tell us about her "great writing week"

Possible 'Half-Blood Prince' Director? 2006-11-02 23:05:00 Over the past few months there have been quite a number or rumors as to who will direct the highly anticipated Harry Potter and the Half-BloodPrince
, and the newest rumor to add to the mix is that the American director, Michael Hoffman, is the one. He's well known for directing "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Soapdish", and "One Fine Day". According to the article from Dark Horizons:"An official announcement is expected on the helmer sometime before Christmas."This is a rumor, so please don't get all worked up! It seems like this is probably false, at least in my opinion, but what do I know. We'll keep you posted, as always. Thanks for the tip, Leaky! Read more:Possible

Video of the Day 11/03/2006 2006-11-03 23:23:00 Here's a very dark and sinister video tribute to Severus Snape set to the very appropriate song, "Dangerous Mind" by Within Temptation. It's very well made and all in black and white, which is fitting for the ex-Potions Master, I thought. Very dramatic!Link to watch.Video by angelguardian777
Fanfic of the Week 2006-11-04 09:33:00 Sorry for not having a fanfic of the week last week, guys........it was hectic around here! This week, the fanfic recommendation is for a Ron/Hermione story by the very talented Arabella from The Sugar Quill.Hermione, Queen of Witches is sort of a Bridget Jones' Diary-type fanfic that spans years one through five so far. The author has used all the events that take place in the books and written out Hermione's diary as an accompaniment. Arabella was also one of the authors of After the End (my personal favorite HP fanfic of all time), so I can safely recommend this story.Check it out, and let us know if you like it!As always, if you have any favorite stories, we'd be happy to share them with everyone. You know the drill.....message our myspace or email us! Read more:Fanfic
Helena Bonham Carter on BBC Morning Show 2006-11-04 09:24:00 Helena Bonham Carter
, the new Bellatrix Lestrange, made an appearance on BBC Breakfast where she talked about her new job. She stated that she was still filming scenes for the new movie, and that, in fact, she would be filming scenes at Azkaban later today! Maybe a prisoner number?)Thanks for the tip, Leaky! Read more:Helena

David Thewlis Interview 2006-11-04 09:17:00 David Thewlis, who plays Remus Lupin in the movie versions of Harry Potter, recently gave an interview for "60 Minutes". When asked about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, he said that he was nearly done shooting for the movie. He also had this to say about his role as everyone's favorite werewolf:Is it fun to be part of something that has such a massive international following?I love doing the Harry Potter films. It's such a big family, everyone knows each other very well and have worked together for so long on these films. The other good thing is you know it's going to get seen, that it will be in the cinemas. This isn't always the case with films you make. You know millions of people are going to see it.Do you think Harry will be killed off in the last book and film?I think Dan Radcliffe thinks that but I'm not sure. I can't imagine JK Rowling killing off Harry.Oh please Jo! Don't kill off Harry!!! Read more:David

Wizard Rock Song of the Week 2006-11-04 21:04:00 I thought I had heard about all of the Wizard
ing Rock groups out there, but I was wrong. This week I found out I had missed one of the best, Oliver Boyd and the Rememberalls. Consisting of one man, Christian Caldeira, his sound is truly unique, and his voice reminds me a little of Gavin DeGraw's. Very professional. You've gotta listen if you haven't already. It was difficult choosing a song of his to feature, but I finally decided on my favorite, "Dumbledore's Song".I know that I will have to pull through. But your lessons can't be learnt without you. Why do I lose the ones that I love? I hope I can stay strong. Dumbledore, why have you abandoned me?With so many horcruxes left, I feel lost at sea.Make sure to stop by our Myspace to listen, and check out Oliver Boyd and the Rememberalls' Myspace to check out some of the other fantastic songs such as "Oh Ginny" and "The Boy Who Lived". If you like what you hear, he has an album on the way that you can pre-order! Read more:Wizard Rock
