training stages and would be pretty much sleeping on the potty….LOL!! That wasn’t the case tonight though. I am so proud of not losing my cool with her…everything was methodic and calm. I went up to find her on the potty….I handed her a wipe and said “here you go…goodnight” and left. Of course I was peering through the door I left open…although she can go by herself, she’s having “issues” lately and wiping herself would be something I’d have to clean up after….also she’s not quite able to reach the sink to turn it on so I’d have to help her wash her hands anywa

;no denying that. I’m writing under a great deal of stress….monitor sitting next to me in the kitchen and I don’t need it turned on to hear the screams…that’s just constant awful schreeching. It sounds like she’s hanging pictures up there….nope…only her fists on the door.
Do I feel like the worst mommy ever? Um, yes! And no. I’ve never been on the cry-it-out team….but occasionally let her do it. This isn’t crying. It’s insanity. Macaroni picture frame and painting 2007-07-10 20:09:45 Today we had playgroup in the morning… we were outside at one of the girls houses….enclosed deck and iced coffee…mmmm! It was HOT out but it was really nice to be out anyway. All the kids played nicely. We decided to stay in the rest of the day though…too hot to do much of anything that didn’t need to be done.
We did some painting….I covered her whole play table with paper and cut out foam shape to paint with and also used a few different brushes. Some of the brushes were the kind with paint in them that you squeeze into the brush to paint. It sounds like a good idea but every time I get them out I remember that I don’t care for them too much. We also used some sponges on sticks that I picked up in the good old Target dollar section that day I got her bedding for the new bed. They were worth every penny…love them. I”ll have to post a pic of our final product..it’s really cute.
Then Blues Clues was on and I overheard (whi Read more:Macaroni
Sleep 101 2007-07-09 20:37:01 Well we got a little over 3 hours of sleep from her before she ended up in our bed. She usually wakes after 4 hours of sleep. She definitely didn’t get up earlier after going to sleep earlier…so we got to sleep in. We met my sister in law and 16 month old niece at the mall to look for matching shoes. They’re both flowergirls in my other sister in law’s wedding. We found some on sale and there’s enough heel on them that R’s dress won’t need to be re-hemmed…it was still a little long. The girls played and had fun and then R and I came home to have dinner with Daddy and the bride and groom to be. They got a preview of R all decked out. She can’t wait to wear that dress all day long and dance!! She will be requesting YMCA And I’m sure she will be up and partying with all of us until all the lights go out. Then we’ll have to start the sleep process all over again:) By the way, she’s sleeping now. 10 minutes later th Read more:Sleep
Asleep EARLY??? 2007-07-08 01:04:06 Yes, tonight my little angel has actually been asleep since 8:20!!! I can’t remember when the last time that happened was! Last night it was 10:45!! But that was under special circumstances and can’t be blamed completely on her. My parents were visiting and we had a fun filled day of playing outside and eating ice cream right before bed…. we knew we shouldn’t have, but honestly bedtime doesn’t go easily without ice cream, so we thought why not let her enjoy too.
My parents had a blast with her. She was having tea parties and sticker book fun with my dad… he and my mom were impressed at her adding skills. I know I have told them and thought she had “shown off” for them but I guess I was wrong. She definitely did NOT get that skill from Mommy :) We grilled some yummy dinner, played outdoors a lot including her pool, bubbles, slide, ring toss, frisbee, balls, and spraying with the hose, so she was happy and we all had a nice day togethe

Mmmm healthy:) 2007-07-11 22:39:33 R and I had french toast, hard boiled eggs and fresh mellon for breakfast. She had rice cakes for a snack and for lunch we had tuna melts with tomato on an wheat english muffin…also with mellon. She then had cheerios for a snack. For dinner I made a Dream Dinner: Bacon and Swiss Cheese Quiche…and added corn and grapes…little odd but I wanted fruit and that was what I saw first:) Anyway, pretty healthy
day…trying to do my best so I can lose these 20 or so unwanted pounds. So WHY, after R was asleep….did I have ice cream with chocolate sauce and 2 slices of pizza????!!!! Ok, I’ve gotten it out. I feel guilty, and will try not to do it again.
Other then that….today was very productive. I got a lot of organizing accomplished and vacuumed the entire house (usually I only get it done in parts each day) and swiffered the kitchen and hall. R put her toys away without my asking….LOVE that! And B and I were able to sit and watch a movie.
Skinny me!! 2007-07-16 21:45:01 Where are you??? I hit the gym this afternoon… R got to play there, so she was happy. I was supposed to have been “fit” by this week! 8 weeks ago I had a mission…to be fit for my sil’s wedding. Didn’t happen. BUT, I think the mission is ON now. That’s how I feel today anyway. I’m tired of feeling tired and bumpy. I am declaring that I WILL get fit and I will NOT fail this time! I have many reasons why: the obvious-I don’t fit in most of my clothes, I can’t afford to buy new ones, need to stay healthy for me and my family. Ok, there it is. I’m going to the gym 2 more times this week for weight/strength training and cardio and otherwise will continue my workout at home of chasing R, dancing with R and overall tiring myself out to the point of passing out…with R:) Ah, to have the energy of a 2 year old!
BUNCO, water parks, dress shopping and the pool… 2007-07-16 21:32:12 That’s just what I’ve been up to since last posting about my exciting life:)
Bunco was girls night…once a month…lots of fun as usual. Water park with R and my sil and niece…lots of fun! Dress shopping for other sil’s wedding… alone time, but NOT so fun. I found 4 dress
es and bought them all! I’m taking three back tomorrow:) We ended the weekend off at the local pool…just the 3 of us and it was relaxing and a good time. R loves the new water
slide they have! She told my mom about it today saying “I went down the slide all by myself… then SPLASH!”
R and I went with our MOMSClub to the Great Harvest Bread Co. and had a good time. The kids each made a cookie and bread! They were so excited and amazed. When R was telling B about it tonight she said “next time we go to the bread company daddy…we’ll make sure we bring you a cookie and some bread, I promise!” It was the sweetest thing. She re
Sunday 2007-07-22 13:35:53 Sitting here with R next to me…she just finished a pillow jumping spree in front of me while I was checking my Ebay auctions. B’s laying on the other side of the couch asleep while we all listen to/watch Strawberry Shortcake’s “Sweet Dreams” movie. It’s become a definite favorite around here:) It’s resting time after the big wedding weekend. Everything was lots of fun and R had the best time being a flower girl. She was a little superstar! We all stayed till the very end of the reception and then B walked us up to our room at the hotel so we could get to sleep while he returned for some after party festivities. His youngest sister is a Mrs. now! I’m exhausted, but my house needs me, so I will hope that my banana mocha frappuccino from Sheetz kicks in soon. I think B will most likely spend most of the day on the couch.
Will be back after the toilets are sparkling and the laundry is put away to go into more detail about the past week, Read more:Sunday
The Rehearsal 2007-07-25 23:23:10 Friday was the wedding rehearsal and dinner. R was so excited… she couldn’t wait to be a flowergirl. She had the dress, the shoes, knew all about it… I had to wonder if she was starting to think the day would never come…like it was something we made up so she would behave etc. She looked so cute in her ‘rehearsal dress’ It was actually a gift from her 1st b-day so I was amazed I got one last wear out of it. I put her hair in a french twist and she just looked so elegant… 2 year old elegance isn’t easy to pull off either:)
She was supposed to walk down the aisle with her 16 month old cousin but P (cousin) wasn’t having that. She loves holding R’s hand other times, but not when her Mommy was going down the aisle right in front of them (MOH). So P ended up walking with her mom (B) and R walked all by herself…slowly, elegantly and oh so cute! She’d look back at me and I’d give her the “keep going&rdqu Read more:Rehearsal
“Mommy, can I drive?” 2007-07-25 22:33:29 No, I have NOT been cleaning my toilets since Sunday…just haven’t had time to get back here for more than a minute.
Last week was busy but I can’t remember details at this point. If some happen to emerge I will go into them:) I do remember Thursday… R and I went to the local amusement park. I promised her we would go since we cancelled our pool day on Wed. Ah! That reminds me about Wednesday!! :) We had a pool day planned with the MC (momsclub) but it was stormy and when we were set to leave it was raining:( So we brought our picnic blanket and spread it out in the living room. We had such a nice time together. Then she went on to cook food for some of her friends who made their way to the picnic blanket. I just took a look at a picture I took…. Belle had corn on the cob, Jasmine had a burger, Hershey kiss had a blueberry muffin and Goofy had a hotdog BUN. She loves to feed her friends.
So back to Thursday…I realized on the way that I had forg Read more:Mommy

FISHER-PRICE TOY RECALL 2007-08-01 21:40:11 While I was putting R to sleep tonight I fell asleep with her…came downstairs to B telling me about the horrible bridge collapse in Minneapolis and this huge toy recall. I’m half asleep but wanted to post this link to the toy recall incase it helps anyone who missed it! Please check it out…lots of Sesame St, Dora and other toys involved. http://service.mattel.com/us/recall/39054_IVR.asp?prod=
Weddings 2007 2007-08-05 21:43:00 Well, now it has been 2 weeks since my little flowergirl has walked her famous walk… I thought I’d write about it:) It was a very nice day. HOT between the ceremony and reception, but at least it didn’t rain! I had mentioned previously, I loathe my in-laws and that is an understatement. Lots of mixed feelings. What should have been a totally happy joyful day, was a happy joyful day but it was also a day to be paranoid, watch what I said, and keep R away from certain people while trying to let her have a blast. She didn’t realize, so for that, I’m so thankful. She did have a blast. She had a crown of flowers and looked like a little Princess in her white poofy dress with aqua sash. And she wore her little heart necklace…it fits into a larger heart pendant that I have from my mom. Beautiful. She was more then ready for pics and socializing…which was great…I just had to watch who she was socializing with (as mentioned before…) Th Read more:Weddings
Sick Mommy 2007-08-14 22:05:29 As Mommy
’s know, when the whole family is sick, Mommy still doesn’t get a break… R’s coughing in her sleep as I type, and B and I are still suffering through this miserable cold. It’s annoying more then anything really. R and I finally got out today and it was so exciting just to get to the post office and grocery store!
We had Mc D’s for lunch ( it’s not a common thing… just really didn’t have anything in the house! and no energy to whip something up out of what we did have:) ) She had apple dippers, not fries and reg. milk, not chocolate. So it was fine. Even when she gets fries and choco milk…no big deal, but today I was all about health.
She continues to wow us daily. She has better grammar then I do sometimes. By the way, I write as I talk here, not for a writing contest/grammar test…so don’t judge me on this! LOL. Anyway, it’s just so cute how she corrects herself all the time. I never remember sp
Mattel Recall… 2007-08-14 11:18:46 here’s another one: http://service.mattel.com/us/recall/J1944_IVR.asp?prod=
Not ready for summer to end! 2007-08-21 11:20:29 Today is raining and miserable. I’m not ready
to stay inside… to stop going to the water parks… to wear jeans instead of shorts…to wear a jacket:( I know it’s going to get warm again for a little while at least but the past 3 days around here have just been rainy and blue.
Friday after attempting to get to the waterpark on a day that wasn’t supposed to see rain at all… we turned around to come right back home after getting stuck in torrential downpours and thunder and lighting on the way there. Friday night we all went to Chuck E. Cheese for some silly fun. The pizza actually tasted good this time which is unusual so that was a nice surprise. I do have a complaint for them though. They have a “kid check” where you have stamps for the family when you enter and supposedly are checked when you leave to see that everyone belongs together. I realize that they don’t NEED to have this service, but the fact is, they do… so
It’s still early? 2007-08-24 01:29:00 I’ve been having major insomnia lately. Well actually I’ve been putting together a photobook and up till around 4am each night. Nuts. So I took a night off from it tonight but still don’t feel tired yet…exhausted but not tired…if that make sense.
The Wii was fun by the way!! It’s addictive :) B’s asleep and here I am with millions of thoughts but not much concentration. So I figured I’d discuss the very thought provoking subject of Halloween! I know it’s only August, but R has already told me what she wants to dress up as and I’ve gotten a bunch of catalogs and mail with costumes all over the place…it’s hard to avoid. I thought she’d want to be Strawberry Shortcake or a Princess (like last year) or maybe Tinkerbell since she seemed to be on a Tink kick for a while there. What does she want to be? A Pumpkin!! Um, don’t get me wrong, if that’s really what she wants, okay…but I just don&r
Wii 2007-08-23 22:23:06 I am just sitting here laughing!! My big manly hubby just purchased a Wii
because his XBOX 360 died (that’s a whole other story….ggrr.argh) Anyway… he is playing around with some type of quick demo type thing…short silly games and all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye he’s wiggling his hips back and forth (hula-hooping). LOLOLOLOL. That’s one I need to see again. He’s moved on to other games..it’s random I think. I like the hula hooping!! He’s waiting for me to get up and try but I told him I’m trying to catch up (ALWAYS!) so I’ve been doing so.
Nice day today. My parents came over with my aunt to visit so it was an unusual Thursday visit (usually they only visit on the weekends). It made the day go quicker and was fun. Went to the local buffet for dinner and ate way too much as we always do when we eat there. Then I had a board meeting…so I’m in need of some down time but everything’s callin
Somebody’s getting married! 2007-09-23 01:12:56
There is a song by the Muppets that I had on a cd I made for my wedding day “pre-ceremony” music. I have no idea where that cd is, but that song always gets in my head when I think of weddings. It’s really cute…have to go find it on napster or itunes….no luck…but anyway, the song is on the “Muppets Take Manhattan” soundtrack…here’s a link to the lyrics.
Anyway, why am I thinking of weddings? My brother and his fiance told me they picked a date! They told my parent’s and her mom and then me…so I won’t mention anything else here since it’s their news and I have no clue who would stumble on this that “shouldn’t know anything yet” but you never know:)
They do visit me here (I think…are you still there guys?) so Congratulations on picking the big day you two! I will find this song and force M (future sil) to listen to it on that day! Okay, I won’t do that…but I&rs Read more:Somebody

Coffee anyone? 2007-09-23 00:21:06 We are the proud new owners of a coffeemaker! Sounds silly, but til now we had this sad little 2 cup coffeemaker that I’d since put away and had been resorting to instant since it tasted better then the coffee made by our tiny old pot. I’m used to mocha frap’s in the morning anyway now, but will save money with this since my mocha’s aren’t exactly cheap (and I’m talking the bottled ones). We were never big coffee drinkers so we didn’t care that we had the little coffee pot. Ever since I stopped nursing last year and started back on caffeine, I don’t know how I did without. Of course now that we own it, I’ll probably get pregnant and cut out caffeine again! LOL. By the way, no, we’re not trying for #2 so I think I’ll be enjoying many hot brewed cups in the months to come. Ahhhh, can’t wait til tomorrow morning.

We’re always getting lost! 2007-09-23 00:10:27 Okay…when that statement comes from the backseat, from the 2.5 year old…you know it’s time for a GPS!! Little Miss Chatterbox was going on and on about how we went the wrong way today etc…and then that’s what she said “We’re always
getting lost!” B and I were rolling with laughter. Of course, he was driving so it was even funnier to me. We were 2 minutes from home. There are shortcuts that we’ve taken to get to different places…he’s taken them, but I do it a lot more often. I had a bad headache so I had my eyes closed for 20 seconds and when I opened them I looked around and said “where are we?” LOL. He had completely passed the road we should have taken etc… and decided to just go with it and take the LONG way to the shortcut R liked that. He already knows this, so I don’t have to hide the fact that HE IS GETTING A GPS FOR CHRISTMAS!!
Well, other then the getting lost a mile from home, we
Xbox 360 2007-09-21 11:50:05 I never did complain about this…here I go. B’s Xbox
just decided to stop working one day in August and it was just a huge ordeal. It took him forever to get through to customer service to try to fix things. Once they figured out it was not fixable… stage 2 of ANNOYING began. He had to wait for them to send him a box (a week wait was expected…for a BOX!) The box never showed up and he had to call again. They had noted that he was picking up the box… on the West Coast (I forget where he told me it was). Well, we’re on the East Coast, so that’s not an afternoon errand. The box for the BOX arrived and he sent it back to be fixed which he was told would take a month! When he went to the UPS store to send the package, the employee at the desk said to him “Xbox?” before he was even 2 steps in the door. He then told him that he knew the box just by looking at it since there were at least a few Xbox returns a day! Well, we got it back in
Aches and pains… 2007-09-12 22:13:34 Lately, I’ve been having an issue with my left ear… thing is, it’s only a problem, HONESTLY, when my husband is talking to the left of me!! Ok, so I tested it out today with R and had her talking and at ONE time it did the “thing” it does when B is talking…otherwise, it’s all him. It’s a thumping/throbbing spastic annoyance! R and I went to the doc today to see if I could get any answers. Good news is, my ears look fine, and my hearing is great! They gave me one of those hearing tests you take in school Doc chalked it up to some sort of ear/nose temporary issue and gave me some nasal spray and we’ll see after a week. It’s so bad when we sit at night, me on my end of the couch and him on his end (to my left). And no, we can’t switch:) So, I’m hoping for some relief or I’ll be off to more docs.
Also… there’s a new session of classes at my gym… so I (who hasn’t stepped foot in the gy
Reflections on September 11th, part 2 2007-09-12 21:53:27 I have so much more to say. I wasn’t at all finished with my thoughts at all, just didn’t have time. I need to get it out, unlike so many other posts that I have meant to write that have not been written. They might get through some day, but this one needs to be written. I’ve talked about it and written blurbs here and there many times over the years, but do want it in one place and it’s therapeutic as well. That said, I will come back to it when I can think clearly and not now.
Now is the time for light, silly, fluff posting…

Reflections on September 11th 2007-09-11 22:57:08 Today is a hard day for me. Although what happened on September
11th, 2001 is not at all forgotten on other days or times of the year, it’s certainly emphasized on the anniversary. I don’t want to be sad all day, but it is, after-all, a day of mourning.
I lost a lot that day and it changed my life forever. I had just moved out of Manhattan a month and a half prior and lived just across the Hudson with a breathtaking view of the city that never sleeps at the end of my street. I worked in television which has it’s breaks… one of which I was on. On breaks, or hiatus, I would do temp work and that is where I found myself on Monday, September 10th, 2001. After a long day, I took the train from the WTC uptown to meet a friend for dinner. Just on a short train ride, there is usually enough to complain about for a while…which is what I did when I met up with my friend. But we quickly got over complaining and had a nice dinner and drinks. It was pouring outside, Read more:Reflections
