Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino…with whipped cream 2007-10-12 18:06:14 Yum-eeee!!! Got these at the grocery store this afternoon and just popped one open and added the cream after almost smoking my family out of the kitchen! Now that the pots have stopped boiling over and the smoke has cleared, I’m just sitting and waiting for it all to be finished in a few minutes. We’re having chicken piccata, mixed veggies and spaghetti… chicken from Dream Dinners.
In other news, it was COLD out today! More later…timer just beeped, dinner time!

99 in the shade…in October! 2007-10-08 15:58:35 Considering we don’t live in the tropics…this is unseasonably HOT weather we’r having right now. We had Little Gym this morning but nothing wears my kid out. Played inside after that while trying to get some work done. Finally came outside and it’s just HOT HOT HOT. Our backyard has been in complete shade ever since we came out, but it doesn’t matter. I just don’t have the energy to go anywhere else…we’ll be out all week. So our backyard playland will have to do. She’s been in the sandbox, slide, running, playing with the balls…I think she’s sitting in a bus now with the balls as other passengers And her chair is driving Oops, I was wrong…she just turned around and told me the’re in a flume. Wishful thinking!!
She wants to go to our neighborhood playground…I do not want to move…it’s never shady over there and I’m just not up for it. Poor deprived child. It’s a Little Tike Read more:October
Air Force One 2007-10-05 13:05:03 I don’t know how I forgot to mention this. A few days ago the President was not too far from here and R and I were coming home from the grocery store…she was heading into the house with some groceries and I was at the trunk of my car in the garage and heard a LOUD plane. I really thought it was coming down, it was so loud! I ran out to see where/what was going on and realized it was a huge plane (we usually don’t have many large planes come that low over us). So I yelled to Riley to come out and look. She was pretty excited that it was so close/big…and loud!

Yesterday 2007-10-05 09:52:08 …was a good day! Life is good. R enjoyed preschool and a hot fudge sundae treat afterwards at McDonald’s. We tried to go to Rita’s since I had a free icee coupon, but they’re closed for the season (I figured they would be…) even though it’s still HOT here.
B mowed the lawn a few days ago…it had gotten to jungle status since we had ran out of gas and figured it might not need to be cut again. We were wrong. So yesterday, with it cut, R and I could run around and play catch. She likes to roll around on the ball like an exercise ball and fall off it… also bounce up and down on it like a “hoppity hop” or whatever that ball with a handle on it’s called. B fixed our screen door that had fallen off in the summer and hit me in the head! (OUCH). So, finally, outside looks nice again. And tomorrow we’re adding on a sandbox and picnic table that I bought a few weeks ago. (My parents are bringing it over since my car is t Read more:Yesterday
Too tired to cry 2007-10-02 21:59:43 This is just how I’m feeling tonight. Although I’ve gotten tons of it out… I am too busy to be tired
and too tired to cry. I am tired of isolating myself and putting up a front but I’m in a really tough place right now. My in-laws have been causing terrible stress and hell on my marriage for over 2 years now. It was then that we found out horrible things about them and cut off contact. I should feel open enough to let it all out here. Friends and family know the story. The point is that my marriage is really suffering because of my in-laws and the fact that they are trying to creep back into our lives…and my husband is not presenting our “united front” as we once had it. It’s a big mess of emotions and it kills me daily. I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful daughter and I just want to be happy. I am happy and I try to fill every day with tons of fun things. There’s just always this black cloud hanging over us. There’s alw
My baby’s a preschooler! 2007-10-02 13:50:54 This post is long overdue. R started preschool a week ago today!! She only goes for 1.5 hours 2 days a week but it’s a big step! She LOVES it!! I am so proud of her. I really thought she’d love it but with every situation, you never know. Her teacher’s say she does a running commentary of everything she’s doing She does that all the time, so it’s not news, but funny to hear that she did it at school too. I went to preschool when I was two…I didn’t like it at all and have heard the story over the years of how I begged my mom to keep me home with her. I’m so glad R’s not following in my footsteps on this one!
On her first day, B and I went with her and they had the parent orientation. After our meeting the teachers brought the kids to the parents and she went to the front of the meeting room and sat in the director’s chair. They said she would be the next Oprah…lol. There were only 3 kids including her but by the next c
Straw-buh-buh-buh-buh-berry…Strawberry Shortcake! 2007-10-16 23:21:26 So we found R’s costume today! This past weekend we went to a big costume store but they didn’t have what she wanted…Straw
berry Shortcake. She really liked a pirate costume we saw there and I loved it, but it was too small. Today, we tried another store… the person who worked there said she didn’t think they had SS. It was a party store, so they had pictures up of the costumes and if you wanted one they’d get it from the back…so all we had to look through were pictures high up above us… We didn’t see anything else, R was on a Strawberry
mission. We turned to leave and R said “Strawberry!” and we all looked up… there she was! I can’t believe we didn’t see her and almost left with nothing. I told her if they had her size, it was hers. It fit!
She looks so cute! It’s really a lame costume…blue pants, striped top that says Strawberry Shortcake. But it does have a cute hat with the hair att
Bon Jovi Rocks SNL 2007-10-13 23:15:39 Ok, so I’m a Jovi Girl through and through. They just rocked out “Lost Highway” but I am feeling for Richie who forgot his line in the opening monologue. Poor guy…thought it was cute anyway.
So, it’s 40 min. in to the show. I guess I just enjoy anything Bon Jovi
Anyone who knows me could second that.
I’m sad I won’t be able to see them in Jersey in the next month. No $$. But I’ll enjoy tonight.
I remember back when I saw them at SNL with a friend…they rocked, didn’t they S? Wish I was there tonight.

My girl 2007-10-13 21:50:20 Just have to glow a bit… she just continues to impress me each day. This past week she wrote her name by herself for fun She’s been writing random letters/numbers by herself for a year but anytime she wrote something like her name or more for a card etc, I would hold her hand steady and help her or as she learned more/got confident…just held her hand as she wrote the letters herself. I didn’t realize she could write so well/so much on her own. I try not to underestimate her since she’s constantly amazing me, but that was a proud moment. I didn’t even ask her to do it…she was just playing. She wrote it on her chalkboard easel.
She’s also continuing to add more and more numbers, spell more words and just leave my jaw hanging. She’s hilarious as always, joking, making up jokes, songs and whatever she thinks will make someone smile. I will try to write her quotes down as they come, or from my stockpile. The girl is documented like y
Time for Halloween! 2007-10-13 21:29:57 Now that the weather is actually getting cooler it’s feeling more like fall and Halloween
time. I’ve had my doorstep decorated for a few weeks now, which is early for me. The light-post has fall leaves on it, mums, pumpkins, gourds, hay and even a HUGE scarecrow that we all made together adorn the house. Complete with fall wreath with removable witch and bats and fall leaves on the doormat. So we’ve been ready for fall, it just didn’t arrive till now.
A few weeks ago we went to a fall festival with friends…I’ve known this couple for 12 years and they have 2 kids. Their daughter is almost 5 and R had a great time with her. They got along well and J (my friends girl) was a good “big sister” to R. We ate good “fall” food, the girls rode ponies, jumped on a huge bounce thing, decorated potatoes and played in a few playgrounds, sandboxes etc. J’s little brother, also a “J” is one and adorable…sweet, quie
Painting, baking, collecting acorns… 2007-10-30 22:01:51 This weekend we visited my parents and had a nice time visiting a farm with all the fall things to do…except it had been raining all day so almost everything was closed. We had fun, got pictures and pumpkins…looked at strawberry cows. Sunday we went to a Halloween event at the local amusement park. We met up with my sil and her daughter…the girls had such a great time. They were adorable in their costumes:)
Then whoo-hoo, treated the rust on our bilco doors and then painted them. It was a lot more effort then I had expected. I didn’t think it would be easy, but ugh my poor arm/wrist/hand and back afterwards. Plus, I did this all with R inside playing so although she was amazingly well behaved…I still couldn’t just get it done all at once. There were millions of peeks at her, questions through the door that I needed to keep shut so the fumes didn’t go inside and snack breaks/tv changes The doors look great! I still need to do another coat o Read more:Painting
I’ve just had it! 2007-10-27 23:20:45 See post “Too tired to Cry” from Oct. 2nd and that’s what I’m talking about. Also too sick of writing/thinking/dealing with it so I just can’t right now. Other “normal” activities going on and keeping us busy. My little genius is keeping me going, just honestly, I’ve HAD it!
Busy Busy Busy!!! 2007-12-06 00:31:39 Wow, did anyone see November? Apparently I missed it! Halloween seems like it was a year ago…it went great, fun time had by all November was busy with this and that. Thanksgiving in NY with relatives… nice to relax and hang out. It was a really nice day weather wise…went to the beach! R had a great time entertaining and being entertained.
A friend of ours visited for a few days and that was fun for everyone. She has a great time with R and we all got really silly with Guitar Hero! I was sick during the whole visit, so I was bleh, trying to keep up. Doritos and cheap wine…ah memories of the younger days! My friend is my age but single so I just feel a TON older and she brings back my young side. We watched Jovi in concert and one of his movies…interesting! We both fell asleep
I have some new Pampered Chef products that have brought me enjoyment. Ah the little things….
Christmas is coming and *I* am getting fat…. LOL, lame, sorry the s
Losing my mind and everything else… 2007-12-14 20:44:02 I’ve already accepted that I am a forgetful person. But I’ve been working on it as much as I can, meaning getting as organized as possible. Well, I *thought* I was doing well…making progress. I LOST my parents’ Christmas gift! IN MY HOUSE! I made the gift…tons of time and love put into it…and poof, it’s gone. I’ve looked EVERYWHERE! Well, unless someone came into my house and took nothing but a personalized Christmas gift…it’s here somewhere. How annoying, maddening and stressful!
Then R’s preschool party was supposed to be yesterday…schools were closed cuz of the weather (which wasn’t that bad…) Anyway, she already had her dress on and didn’t get to wear it to the party. So, I told her she could wear it today…we had another party with MOMS Club. Well, her stockings are missing! She only has one pair of warm, black tights that fit…she had them on yesterday…and now they a
Little Dancing Girl 2007-12-15 21:40:21 I forgot (no surprise) to write about the outing last night except for the fact that we lost R’s hair bow. They shut down the street for a while for a show choir to dance and sing Christmas carols. It was really nice…R loved it…and she got to sit up on Daddy’s shoulders to watch so that was fun too!
Later on, there was a band playing on the sidewalk and we stopped to listen for a while. R danced the whole time and she really gets down. She loved the music and the band loved her… a lot of the audience was watching her as much/more then the band. When we were leaving the sax player said “goodbye little dancing girl”. She thought that was cool.
Ok, I’m really about to wrap gifts… we are now on our second trial of watching a movie…well B’s watching, I’ll be wrapping too. The first one (he keeps dvr’ing them) was awful… stopped it after a few minutes. Not to sure how this one will be. Of course the mov Read more:Dancing
Found it! 2007-12-15 21:29:11 B found my parents’ present! It was in a bag with my nieces gift. Whoo hoo. Stockings are still MIA
Went to church today. I swear everytime we go, I really like it, but it’s like a big slap in the face about the whole in law (the others) situation. Today was all about forgiveness. It really was a great service, it just sucks that it always relates to them because they’ve put such a shadow on my world. I saw the big picture about how I’m supposed to get over it and forgiving is really for ME not for them. Also if I decide to forgive, it doesn’t need to be mentioned to them, it’s for me again. I actually think I could do it, for the betterment (is that a word?) of my life and my family, thing is it was also mentioned that forgiving in no way means that seeing those who you’ve forgiven will still bring all the awful feelings back at you over and over. Well I knew that! I got a kick out of the production they made of it though… black pape
