was all about long dresses with flowery prints, floaty tops etc. More for young country girls to wear with big hats and flat shoes. So I was surprised when I looked in the window of their Inverness shop to see a cord skirt.
It is brown background with gold and red pattern. Fitted at the top and swirling out to just knee length. The price was surprising. I always thought of Laura Ashley as an expensive shop - have never bought anything from there before. But this was in my budget at just under £50. Just had to try it on and it even fitted perfectly

trainers. They were bright red All-Stars and I wore them until they wore out. From that moment on, I’ve loved this style of trainer!
Why are Converse so good?
Firstly the style of them has never gone out of fashion. Even though the trainer has been on the go since the middle of the twentieth century, they look as good today as ever.
Secondly, you can wear them anywhere. Okay - you can’t run a marathon in them, but whether you are out shopping, in a club or hanging out with friends, they never look out of place.
Thirdly, the price is right - you can expect to pay sixty pounds or more for a pair of trainers from most shoe companies, but you can get a good pair of Converse for half that price.
Finally, there are so many styles, you can have lots of pairs to suit your mood. From bright colours to funky prints, heck, if you live in America you can even design your own pair on the Converse web

My favourite item of clothing that I have bought recently was a pair of pyjamas that were reduced to £2 in primark.
They are short pyjamas and a greeny yellow colour, not a colour I usually go for, but they are well comfy and sexy.
They are the best bargain I have bought in ages and I have just had a baby so its something that makes me feel good about myself when I am in them.
