What to expect of a Google OS! 2006-11-22 14:44:51 I am totally nuts when it comes to operating systems. I have laid my hands on Windows xp and vista (I will shortly write about setting up vista on Lenovo N series laptops). I have tried a myriad of Linux distributions like SuSe, Mandriva, Fedora and Ubuntu. But I so desperately waiting for a Google
OS.
I found this article
There’s no such thing as the GoogleOS in reality - but despite that, it is one of the most talked about Web products. People can’t stop discussing it - and even imagining screenshots for it! Seems like everyone expects Google to get into direct competition with Microsoft, by releasing an operating system. However Google refuses such claims and even makes fun of this kind of buzz. Nevertheless we decided to analyze where Google may be heading with their product strategy - and from that determine what are the chances of a GoogleOS.
Possibilities
We see 3 scenarios for a GoogleOS:
A web based desktop (i.e. operating system)
A full featured Linux

Ah, I don't know 2006-11-30 07:25:57 I really don’t know what to write today. Something happened few days back that i never expected. I have been waiting, so eagerly, for and when it happened i couldn’t even feel the happiness. I have seen people cry when they are happy but what if you are super-duper happy? what do you then? I felt nothing when she told me those words i have been waiting to hear for long. It just happened and as i alway say thats how life is! You never know what is going to happen next and I love pleasant surprises. I crave for something and when i don’t get it, i feel depressed and lonely. And when i get it, then i feel nothing as if it was normal and expected. I sometimes wonder that the excitement that hope generates cannot match something which is certain. I have developed this opinion based on my experiences for the past 23 years of my life. I always failed to feel the rejuvenation after being initially rejected. I was shattered last year and this happiness for me was inconceivable
Few pictures from across the border 2006-11-30 10:29:20
I couldn’t resist posting these pictures.
The banner was put up as part of a campaign to decorate the city on Chinese President Hu Jintao's arrival. Pakistan better get ‘over’ Chinese obsession. China is like asteen ka saanp (snake in your sleeves) , you never know when will it bite. And plus Pakistan is heavily dependent on Chinese technology so can they really afford mistakes like these? Or the Chinese president doesn’t understand English but they must be having lot of Chinese translators..won’t they?
This is an Urdu something (definitely not a sher ). English translation- Girls these days are so proud of their beauty, they don’t even know the first kalimah and they talk in English.
Well this is a satire on the modern Muslim women. I wonder why modern Muslim men are not included. This reveals a male chauvinistic, frustrated and above all biased view of the author.
Will post tomorrow an article on it.

Sidhu found guilty of murder 2006-12-01 18:13:52 Its now Sidhu who is being tried for murder
. The same Sidhu who once played for India, his famous innings at Bangalore help India win the quater finals in 1996 World Cup.
CNN IBN
BJP MP and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was on Friday found guilty of causing a man's death in 1988 during a fight with him over parking in Patiala.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court overturned a lower court's 1999 order acquitting Sidhu in the death of Patiala resident Gurman Singh and found him guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Sidhu, MP from Amritsar, and his friend Rupinder Singh Sandhu on December 27, 1988 allegedly beat up Gurman who later died of a heart attack. The court will announce Sidhu's punishment on Wednesday, December 6.
The Punjab government's complaint of December 27, 1988 alleged that Sidhu and Sandhu beat up Gurnam in Sheranwala Gate Bazaar after dragging him out of his car.
The fight began over a parking spot outside the State Bank of Patiala branch, wher
That's it! 2006-12-02 08:32:55 “That’s it” is a text message Susan Kuronen received. Well if you are wondering who she is, she is the fiance of Finland’s sexiest man who also happens to be the PM of that country, Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen
HELSINKI (Reuters) - Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen, dubbed Finland’s sexiest man, broke up by text message with the girlfriend he had met on the Internet, she said in a magazine interview.
“Matti dumped me in a text message, where he said ‘that’s it’,” Susan Kuronen told the magazine Me Naiset (Us Women) in an interview published on Friday.
Her relationship with Vanhanen, a divorced 51-year-old father of two, ended a few weeks ago, but continues to make headlines as Susan, 36, pours her heart out in local media.
Vanhanen, who declines to comment on the relationship, was cited as Finland’s sexiest man by French President Jacques Chirac earlier this year, when Finnish tabloids were running daily front-page details

Job vacancy in Al-Qaeda! 2006-12-08 14:18:09 1.0 About the Company
Name of the Company : Al-Qaeda
Nature of Business : We do business in varieties of fields ranging from acts of global terrorism to the start of civil wars in countries and even subsequent driving away of enemy forces, even though because of security concerns we prefer not to state explicitly our involvement. Highlight of our major achievements-
1. Successful ramming of hijacked planes from US into the world trade centre. The attacks became the most devastating in American history, with almost 3,000 people killed, the destruction of four commercial airliners, the collapse of both World Trade Center towers, and the damaging of the The Pentagon. This is our most important achievement till date. Our company’s director, Mr. Osama Bin Laden, personally blessed the hijackers and, in accordance to the company’s policies, took care of the finances of their families.
2. Three bombings at hotels where American troops were staying in Aden, Yemen, on December 2 Read more:vacancy

The trip produced many firsts in my life which I plan to write in few days but first thought of sharing few pictures of Humayun’s tomb. I am obsesses with old monuments. I feel like reliving the past. I sometimes wonder if I would have been born in ancient times then I things would have been much better than they are right now

Indian sportsmen/women and shemales 2006-12-18 06:37:37 Someone by the name Santhi Soundarajan isn’t sure of her gender. Or she is deliberately forcing people to consider her a woman because competition is easier compared to men. Anyway she even won a medal at the Doha games and now officials are in awe over this. Someone who wasn’t even selected for the Southern Railway team because of her controversial gender was selected in the Indian contingent to represent India at an international meet!
THE Athletic Federation of India (AFI) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will not confirm it. But sources in the IOA say Soundarajan Santhi, who won silver in the women's 800 metres at the Asian Games, has failed a gender test at Doha. She is set to be stripped of her medal.
The AFI re mains in denial mode. "We have not received any official intimation from either the IOA or the Doha Asian Games Organising Committee, so we will not be able to say anything right now," said AFI secretary Lalit Bhanot.

Bee for bictory 2006-12-19 02:49:33 Most surprisingly Lalu and Rabri devi have been acquainted in a assets case.
And after the acquittal our Railway Minister’s faith in judiciary was reinforced.
A visibly happy Lalu, in his first reaction outside the court, said: "We have got justice from court. We have full faith in the judiciary. The verdict has reinforced my faith in the judiciary," he said.
Anyway there are many more cases still pending and I am sure that he won’t even live that long so as to get punished, Indian judiciary system you see!
One down, six to go Apart from the DA case, the Railway Minister's name, along with that of former CM Jagannath Mishra, figures in as many as six cases of the fodder scam: Case: Fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.30 crore from Chaibasa treasury No. of accused: Lalu, Mishra and 68 others Case: Fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury No. of accused: Lalu, Mishra and 37 others Case: Fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 182 crore from Doranda treasury
Rendezvous with a prospective 2006-12-19 15:05:57 I was just too desperate to write a post on this. Well anyone would be, isn’t it? Rendezvous
with a prospective. The stage was all set for 12th of December for us to first meet at the Shaastri Park metro station and then together to Humayun’s Tomb (well now you know why on earth I went all the way to Delhi) for some private chit chat. I reached Delhi with absolutely no preparation in terms of clothing. Got up early on that auspicious day, ironed my clothes (nearly burned my pant; it was not showing any signs of ironing so I increased the temperature and then it got stuck!) but didn’t take bath as the chilling temperature was too much of a persuasive factor. Started an hour earlier so as to reach on time. Delhi buses never stop so you need to hob in to board them and then hop out while they are moving. They are more than packed and if the conductor were a student of chemistry then he would ask everyone to align themselves so as to allow maximum people in (as
Everything is sponsored 2006-12-20 04:09:24

2. Bangles from Navratna
3. That SEKC nose ring from Hyderabad jewelers.
4. Lipstick from Levon
5. Belts and bags from ??? (I think a gift from her ever-young-just-30-going-on-31-Amma)
6. Swiss watch

A day after she clinched the mixed doubles gold at the Doha Asian Games, India’s youngest sporting icon Sania Mirza returned to her native Hyderabad on Thursday (December 14).
Mirza missed the gold in the Women Singles as Chinese Zheng Jie overcame the 20-year-old Indian 6-4 1-6 6-1 in a clash lasting almost two hours.
Mirza, who enjoyed a breakthrough 2005 when she became the first Indian to claim a WTA title and reach the top-50 in the women’s rankings, has had a relatively disappointing season.
But one gold and two silvers at the Asian Games have put Read more:Everything

She was not sure of the entrance so we had to roam around a bit. I am never comfortable with the idea of roaming around with a girl. I was embarrassed to the extreme! I hate the stare the passers by were casting on the moon clad in black who was accompanying me. You she can be described as ‘amawas ki raat me chaand’. I mean the dress along with her dress.
We finally reached the tomb. Surprisingly and fortuately there were only foreigners, desi all around would have further irked me. We started to walk around the place as it was her visit as well. I took out my mobile and started clicking.
She: My ancestors were the warriors in the Mughal dynasty. You see we are originally from Dehli. Many don’t realise that Delhi is not the correct translation in English, it should be Dehli.

WILL SHE… WON'T SHE? 2006-12-22 03:59:54
WILL SHE… WON'T SHE? Governor of West Bengal Gopal Krishna Gandhi with Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, on the eighteenth day of her indefinite hunger strike, in Kolkata.
She is on a hunger strike to protest against the Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya decision to hand over land to TATA to build a factory. Well I wonder how can she sustain herself for 18 days without food! In fact I really doubt politicians drama of hunger strikes, they are nothing but a tactic to attract attention. It seems that the Government did all what it could to rehabilitate the effected villagers but our Mamta didi is hell bent upon to conjure up issues out of nothing.
The plant, at Singur, will initially directly employ 2,000 persons, and is expected to create employment in excess of 10,000 jobs among the vendors and service providers in the vicinity of the plant. The construction work will commence shortly and the plant will be commissioned in 2008.
Is she not happy that
Reshammiya to take off his cap 2006-12-23 13:50:55
Himesh ke Khoon bhare aanso
Bollywood’s famous and unique singer Himesh Reshmiya is being forced to remove his cap for a scene. This is how he informed us of this tragic incident.
I will not wear the cap for a particular shot for just 10 minutes in the film Aap Ka Suroor. The cap has always been lucky for me.
The cap has been lucky for him. He owes his success to his cap, the torn one, and that’s the reason he hasn’t even changed it. Its a blessing bestowed upon his by a deity which has promised him success as long as he wears it. His fans are sad at this gesture of his.
The trademark cap will come off, but all Reshammiya fans need not get disappointed for the cap will be off only for a 10 minute shot in the film.
They too have an emotional attachment with the cap. Himeshji’s sacrifice will never be forgotten. This will go down in history as one of the greatest sacrifices Bollywood has ever seen. It’s a sacrifice of his beloved cap. His cap is his crown,

These videos are awesome! Even though I should be busy or pretend to be busy in life these days but I have become an addict to them. You can also subscribe to the podcast on iTunes. I was specially interested in the video second and third from the top-Looking for a spouse online and why you shouldn’t spend 25K for a wedding. Anyway I wonder why people actually spend so much on a night of fun. Then the video on ‘looking for a spouse online’ talks about things you should make sure before finalizing things.

Theme change to Tarski 2007-01-02 18:15:01 I thought its time for another change of theme, new year so a new theme. K2 is a great theme but its bulky. Tarski is lightweight so loads faster. But it doesn’t have support for plugins like Time since, Related Posts and Extended Live archives. It took some time to customize the plugin and it has come out beautifully. I have always felt the need of a bottombar in K2, which Tarski has.
People would generally browse through the posts and then you would ideally expect them to read few more of the posts so I have added Related posts after the body of individual posts. The bottombar then has the latest posts so that the first time readers get to explore the blog, ideal for someone who gets the majority of his visitors from search engines. Tarski doesn’t have Ajax comment support but it has this wonderful Ultimate Warrior Tag support. The search tag option lets you browse posts with multiple tags (try clicking more than one tag in the tag cloud ). This theme is also available fo Read more:Theme
Chowkidar Sammelan 2007-01-03 02:18:10
Prized possession.
There was a conference of village chowkidars (guards), unique in itself, was organized in UP yesterday. The chowkidars had a nice outing
This included hiking the honorarium of these chowkidars from the existing Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 per month, making provision of Rs 1500 for the purchase of a cycle and ensuring that priority is accorded to them in the issuance of an arms license. In addition each village chowkidar will now also have a photo ID card.

The year that was 2007-01-03 14:43:59 Last year has brought many firsts in my life-
1. First licensed software- Windows XP Home edition came preinstalled with the Lenovo laptop I bought. With the licensed version many things were so easy, installing any Microsoft software or upgrading Windows. I don’t have to worry about the crack, many of which are spywares, while installing. Using cracked versions of such costly softwares is always fun but its when you have time to kill! I have been so busy off late that I never had the time to sit and tweak my XP. I always wanted click and install things and not “first changing registry then installing then opening the crack file then generating crack and then pasting”. And after the messy installation you need to be lucky that the Microsoft guys aren’t smart enough to detect the fake software! Well someone with lot of time at hand can do it.
2. First software that I bought, Windows Live Care- Perhaps the best anti-Virus I have ever used. I have used Norton, AVG

Calf with two faces 2007-01-05 04:41:49
A calf with two faces
is photographed Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Kirk Heldreth’s dairy farm in Rural Retreat, Va. The calf, which was born Dec. 27, 2006, breathes out of two noses and has two tongues, which move independently, according to Heldreth. There appears to be a single socket containing two eyes where the heads split.

Those were the days 2007-01-06 07:07:43 Yesteryear heroes who now are zeroes.
Its interesting to note that Salman Khan and Azharuddin have Sangeeta Brijlani in common, she was the ex-girl friend of Salman Khan. And most surprisingly those 2 zeroes are now good friends!
Besides, today, we share a very cordial relationship. We aren’t enemies. In fact, Salman is very fond of Azhar and when we are in Mumbai, he often invites us over.”
Says Sangeeta, the bitch who stole Azhar away from his previous beautiful wife Nausheen. But as is always the case, she considers herself totally ignorant
Azhar was ’single’ when we started seeing each other,” she reiterates, dismissing all the rumours of her breaking up his marriage to Nausheen. “People have always made up stories and honestly, we were as oblivious then as we would be now,”

Another birthday 2007-01-07 13:29:34 Another birthday for me. It has been 788400000 seconds of my existence on this planet. Celebrating birthdays used to be fun when I was a kid. There were preparations in advance. Lot of people used to come and more importantly they used to bring gifts. I just love gifts. Relatives used to drop by. In short it used to be a total fun. But things have changed now. No birthday parties and no gifts! Usually I take my friends out for a dinner and they don’t even bother to give me presents. They don’t understand that I am paying for the dinner because I expect gifts? Why should I be happy about growing old? Well the excitement of being an adult ends when you cross 21. Every subsequent birthday reminds you that soon you are going to have your own family, you will have children and you are going to be addressed as ‘uncle’ and not bhahiya. Each birthday reminds you of your responsibilities as a son.
“I need to start earning soon. I have save
