Make Your Own Piping
2007-09-26 07:44:00
While spending the weekend with my girlfriend April, she taught me how to make my own piping. [Translation = I spent the whole time helping her recover her patio cushions.] I had a blast learning the tricks of the trade and I've always wanted to watch her during one of her projects because there ain't nothin' that girl can't do with a piece of fabric and some thread. Making your own piping is so

Old Porch, New Porch
2007-09-25 09:32:00
I have so many posts that I've started, but not finished, that I can no longer remember what I've actually posted, and what it is I've long forgotten to tell you. Just when I begin to think about it and sit down to open old drafts, I decide that my thinker hurts and I probably have rotting laundry in the machine and that takes priority. (By priority, I mean I have to go get a cup of coffee and

For Lindley
2007-09-23 22:06:00
In the course of my blogging, I've made some friends here and there. Several actually. Some of them I've been reading for a very long time and have come to really care about them. Jenny Haha is one. Now I'm asking you all to please help her by giving her the greatest -and simplest- gift of all. Prayer. On October 2nd, Jenny's adorable little three year old daughter, Lindley, will be going into

Mop Hardwood Floors
2007-10-03 16:51:00
I have hardwood floors through my dining room, breakfast nook, entry and kitchen. I used to hate mopping so much that I actually threw my mop away when we moved into this house. (It was a pretty gross mop.) I went seven months without mopping. It wasn't until Tank was born and my husband hired a cleaning company to come in and clean for me (that was his "gift" to me, isn't that the best thing to

Lindley is OK!
2007-10-03 14:05:00
I just read I Miss My Mind and saw that Lindley came through surgery okay. Praise God! She still has the road to recovery to go through though, so please keep praying! **Update!** Check out Jenny's post for surgery details.

Automatic Doors
2007-10-01 10:11:00
A note to little children: When you are out shopping with your mama, and you decide that you do not want to follow her when she says it's time to leave, and she goes ahead and walks away hoping that you will freak out and start following her and she walks through the automatic door and it closes behind her, well, then it will be too late. You'll be stuck because the door to enter the store

A Perfect Post—Just A Country Girl
2007-10-01 07:14:00
I nominated Just A Country Girl for a perfect post award for the month of September. Here's a little blurb of her post... Our eyes met, and I turned away, embarrassed I’d been caught staring at him. Hearing footsteps, I looked over my shoulder, and to my horror, I saw the stranger walking towards me, a shy smile on his face. I felt ill as I imagined what would happen next: the stranger would

The Cutest Little Hair Bows!
2007-10-13 12:51:00
Amanda from Simply Sweet Bowtique sent me a package of the cutest little hair bows for Belle! Belle is thrilled about the "Cherry Bling" bow. She wants me to put it in her hair right now, but she's been playing in a dirt pile all morning so I won't let her come within a four foot radius of any of these bows. Not to mention she still has chocolate donut all over her face from breakfast. But

Oatmeal Anyone?
2007-10-12 09:30:00
The other morning I handed Tank a bowl of Bananas & Cream Oatmeal . After a couple of bites, he began calling out to me while trying to hand the bowl back. I attempted to force another bite in him, but he clamped his mouth shut and refused. Leaving my son in his highchair, I tossed the bowl on the counter, poured myself a cup of coffee, and resumed my normal position of command—staring out the

Building My Website
2007-10-10 13:37:00
Do any of you have a good idea of where I should look to begin building a website for my cards? I'm going to do gift tags too. I think. I still haven't decided on a name from the suggestions left for me, but I will in the next couple of days. I can't believe how creative you ladies are!

Out In The Garden
2007-10-08 14:11:00
Lately my tomato plants have started losing their leaves. Hm, are they getting ready for winter? Tired of producing veggies? (OK, tomatoes are fruit, but I can't wrap my mind around that so I call them vegetables which is why my children are going to grow up and be losers and they can blame me for homeschooling them because I just make up crap as it suits me.) Oh. It's this guy... (and

Homemade Cards
2007-10-06 22:54:00
I'm kicking around the idea of making personalized cards with matching envelopes and selling them online. I already have the basic idea of the product, but for the life of me, I can not come up with a cute name for them! This is a common problem for me. It took me months to begin blogging because I couldn't think up a clever name. Finally I begged April to pick something for me and thus "The

Cactus
2007-10-05 11:00:00
This is a miniature cactus. Since falling into my possession, it has transformed from a living, albeit small, green plant into a dried up and very much dead plant. I killed it. Which, disturbingly, means that I am less nurturing than the desert.

My Blogroll
2007-10-18 18:04:00
I am about six months behind on updating my blogroll. To all of you who have linked to me and hate me because I never returned the favor, I'm really sorry! If you are not over there under "a few friends" and would like to be, please leave me a comment and tell me to get my butt in gear and list you too. And then tell me you secretly have been hating me for being so rude and then I'll cry a little

My Card Website is UP!
2007-10-18 14:15:00
Ok, I picked a winner for naming my card business and I bought the domain and I got the website up and I have the biggest headache from thinkin' in html code and takin' pictures and then changing it all around again and again. However, I'm going to allow myself to freak out and fret about it all before I announce the winner and give you all the link. I am so far in over my head it just ain't

Two Poops & A Fart
2007-10-16 18:00:00
Some of my favorite people on my husband's side of the family are in town for an extended visit. These people can and do laugh easily and loudly, even when they joke is on them. While in the next room over, I could barely make out the conversation in the living room. My husband's little brother was telling my husband about a book they wanted to buy for him during their visit to the Grand Canyon.

The Banner

I just updated the long banner so it will actually fit in a sidebar. The one I posted last night was a little too wide. If you grabbed it and posted it already, I'm sorry to make you change it. (Though it may fit in your blog just fine. So in that case, never mind!)

And Finally... My Big Announcement
2007-10-22 22:18:00
I can not believe how many incredible ideas where throw out a couple of weeks ago! I printed it out and pondered each idea and marveled at your creativity and cried a little because I'm not clever and then I laughed out loud because I don't need to be when I have you guys! You all rock! Very close seconds were: Notable Designs from Growing in Grace, Notable from Lizzie, Noteworthy from Jenn in

Laugh Out Loud Monday
2007-10-22 17:53:00
I know I have completely dropped the ball on posting Laugh Out Loud Monday posts. I'm fickle like that. Today, however, I have one! You'll find a cute little funny over at Rose Cottage Lane. It's a fun little joke, especially if you've ever told a white lie.

She's Going to be a Bunny. For Sure. I think.
2007-10-26 09:00:00
This year I let Belle pick what she wanted to be for Halloween. With great excitement, she declared to me, "AN ANGEL!" Until this week came. An angel turned into a ladybug who turned into a fairy who turned into a bunny. After looking her in the eyes and telling her (just before our trip to town last night) that she had to pick and there was no going back because we had to buy some materials to

New Color Scheme
2007-10-25 22:47:00
I spent a little bit of my day surfing around through some old Blogging Basics 101 posts and rediscovered one that pointed to Color Scheme r Gallery. So I played around a little with the colors here, went grocery shopping while I was hungry, bought TWO six packs of Hershey's candy bars (Ladies, guess what week of the month it is for me) and lots of chips and a box of Famous Amos cookies, ate half

Nice Award
2007-10-24 10:59:00
This is two months overdue. How pathetic am I? I won The Nice Award from Classless and Lovin' It (here) and Singalullaby (here) and I'm just now getting around to saying, "Hey thanks ladies!" Though I think Cmommy from Singalullaby will forgive me because since then we've gone out to lunch again and she witnessed first hand what a little bear Tank can be, and you know, when nothing else works,

A Perfect Post—Scribbit
2007-11-01 08:27:00
I'm awarding Scribbit with A Perfect Post Award for her post titled Teaching Courtesy: Be a Little Nicer to the Waitress. Here are a couple of clips from her post: I hear complaints that customer service is a dying art but it seems no less accurate to say that the customers themselves aren't winning any points for manners.I especially like this one. Rudeness is never justified. As soon as you
