Happy Monday Morning
2007-07-16 08:18:00
I'm so tired I can hardly sit in my computer chair, but I need to get off this computer chair and get the house straightened up from this past weekend. Before we leave for swimming lessons in an hour...

Sharing Your Photos
2007-07-19 20:28:00
I often take pictures of other people and then print them out to give to them. One thing I've begun doing it doctoring them up a little before I print them. I'm sure my girlfriends would rather see themselves without the big zit on their cheek. It's nice when those things don't seem to "show up" on camera. Heck for that matter, maybe they should get a little tanner. :-) Let's take my high

Go Elsewhere and Laugh
2007-07-19 12:33:00
I have nothing to write about, but my I did get this in my email inbox this morning and I thought it was funny. I know a few people I should "forward" it onto. On a totally random note, if you hold down the "shift" key when you click on a link, it will open in a new window. Then you can stay here longer because I love you. Oh, and check out how you can win $300 of free dairy products from

Drink Your Veggies---ppp ad
2007-07-19 01:10:00
~~~~~~~~~~~This is a ppp ad~~~~~~~~~~~ Eating my daily vegetables is important to me. I try to feed my family in a responsible manner, though often Belle hates it. Drink Your Veggies is a new way to try and get my family to eat their vegetables. They have not added any sugar, salt or preservatives. The website claims that children love it. I have never tried their product, but they are offering
Harry Potter on My Mind
2007-07-22 20:07:00
Harry is all I can think about or want to talk about. I've listened to the first six of the stories on audio. (Jim Dale ROCKS at reading them all!) I've always checked them out from the library, but this time I'm on the hold list at #74. That means in four months, when all the hype has died down and people begin blurting out the ending assuming everyone and their cat has already read it, I will
Photography Tip—Use Your Zoom
2007-07-24 22:28:00
When I upgraded to digital, I promptly stopped using my zoom thinking that I could easily just crop my pictures on my desktop. That was a dumb mistake. When you choose to stand back and zoom in rather than step closer and snap the shot without your zoom, you can not only easily focus on your object, but also make everything in the background fade away and become blurry--something you can't do
For Hannah
2007-07-24 21:07:00
I just came across another mommy blogger who lost her little girl, Hannah , last week. Hannah drowned in the ocean. Please pop over there and give her some lovin'. I can't stop crying.
"Dear Repellent"
2007-07-23 23:49:00
This is a community service announcement to all google searchers who have stumbled upon my blog by trying to find information on "DEAR repellent"... You spelled it wrong. It's not "dear" it's "deer". Unless you really are trying to get rid of your husband.
Out In My Front Yard
2007-07-27 22:52:00
Few things make me madder than stepping out of my house in the early morning to discover most of my vegetables and flowers stripped down to the root by passing deer. So my first thought this morning when I happened to glance out the window and see the beasts was to, well, not do nice things to them which means throwing open the door and run screaming out in the yard in my underwear. However,
Blog Contests
2007-07-27 22:35:00
I won some hair bows from Simply Sweet Bowtique! I've been looking over her website all day thinking about which ones I want to pick for Belle. I couldn't be more thrilled. I need some cute bows for her in a terrible way, but even if I didn't win, her prices are so reasonable! Also, check out this contest over at 5 Minutes for Mom for a flat screen TV from Best Buy.
Random Thoughts
2007-07-26 09:07:00
I don't have any great tales of embarrassment, but here's a few little ones. It was 3:58 AM when I woke to a suddenly pain on my inner thigh. Letting out a yelp, I heard my daughter whisper, "Sorry Mama" before laying out her blanket and stuffed puppy. At some point during her entrance into my bed and into the coveted position between my husband and me, she had accidentally pinched me. Being
A Perfect Post
2007-08-01 23:00:00
I nominated Earthchicknits for a perfect post for the month of July. She almost lost her son on the beach a couple of weeks ago. He fell in a sand hole and was buried alive. If you go and read her post, please read her follow post also. Check out Suburban Turmoil and Petroville for most posts.
Rockin' Blogger Award
2007-07-31 23:01:00
Girl Gone Wild, Jenn, Story About A Girl, and The Glitter Goddess have awarded me the Rockin' Blogger Award . Thank you so much ladies! Now I get to choose five people to pass this onto. Here are just five (out of 92, yes you read that right) of the people in my bloglines that I like to read. I've gotten really bad at reading new blogs because, well, you can see why. I can only read so many, but
Composting With Worms
2007-07-31 23:00:00
I was thrilled to come home and open up my container of red wigglers. Instead of being doomed to a fishing hook, I saved these little guys for a life fit for a king, well, in the world of worms that is. They are my compost worms. Scott drilled several holes in a plastic container. I shredded some newspaper, soaked it in water and wrung it out as best I could. Then I laid it in the bottom
I Finally Finished Book #7
2007-07-30 07:46:00
(I will not write any spoiler to Harry Potter.) I finished listening to Harry Potter this morning. My life can go on. I can eat again, go outside and breath the fresh air, replenish all the Kleenex boxes, go potty, talk to my husband, and actually sleep at night. Well, I think I'll be able to sleep at night. I was up all night listening to the rest of the book and then up at the crack of dawn
Japanese Beetles (And In Which My Blog Goes Downhill)
2007-08-02 23:25:00
I wish that I could get rid of Japanese Beetles the same way I get rid of the deer--by running out in my front door in my underwear screaming my head off, but those beetles just plain don't care. It is unbelievable the amount of damage they can quickly do to a plant. It's also disturbing to me that it's rare when I see them not um... well... Oh my gosh! I just realized that I'm posting
Well, Check Me Out!
A biggo THANK YOU goes out to Revka of RS Designs (and her personal blog of The Porch Light—and really, can you see how I just love her blog name??) for my three column template! Isn't this amazing? I've wanted three columns just like this foreeeeeever. She even was able to make my blog posts load first before the sidebar columns so the rest of my fellow sisters out there with crummy dial up
Flowers From My Garden
2007-08-06 22:38:00
I L.O.V.E. my zinnias. I can go out and clip them and the blooms will last for up to two weeks in a vase. Mother Doe and her babies aren't too crazy about them and thus (for the most part) leave them alone. These little yellow flowers? Those are a different story. The deer love my cucumber plants! I love how the vine spirals around my fence like a perm from the 80's. I do not, however,
The Killer Green Bug
2007-08-05 22:22:00
You know, for someone who really hates bugs (yes, even though I'm a total redneck country girl, I HATE bugs) I sure do seem to post a lot of pictures of bugs on this blog. If you were looking for a little bit of bug porn, I'm sorry, but I don't have anymore. What I do have is this little guy that I spotted sitting in the rocking chair that my MOTHER was sittin' in. Until I screamed and she
I See London, I See France...
2007-08-09 22:34:00
We pulled up in the driveway after sundown last night. After a quick glance, I could just make out the outline of my guy neighbor outside watering his wife's flowers in the dark.Seizing the opportunity, I dashed in the house to scribble a hasty thank you note for a wonderful dinner with them the other night and the WoodWick Candle that appeared on my doorstep a few days later. Do neighbors get any better than that? Gifts on my doorstep are always a plus in my book. I grabbed some fresh homemade Banana Chocolate-Chip Biscotti and the Tupperware I needed to return to them and stepped out of my front door.Walking down the crunchy gravel driveway, it wasn't until I was almost to his house and had just called out to him that I suddenly realized something I had overlooked before.I didn't see any clothes on him.Though my mind froze with horror, my feet kept walking towards him. I was at the point of no return. If I turned and ran screaming back to the house, that would embarrass him. Maybe
Ellen's Crochet
2007-08-11 12:53:00
There isn't much in life I like more than gettin' a gift. I'm pretty simple in that way, or high maintaince, however you want to look at it. So on Thursday, when Scott tossed the mail on the counter, I snatched up the thickly padded envelope and whooped when I saw it was addressed to me. What was inside?THIS WAS!Minus the naked boob girl. She wasn't in the package and that's not me--Just in case you thought I had boobs that look like that, no arms, and freaky skin color. Ellen sells her products online. She has a neat selection available.
I'm Busy, Man
2007-08-13 21:46:00
Every once in a while my life takes on a drastic new direction and I'm actually busy. Usually I try to pass off spending time watering the garden and flowers, taking a shower, clipping my nails, watching TV with a pile of untouched laundry sitting next to me, and taking a nap with the kids as "busy". However, sometimes my life picks up and I actually leave my house to do something totally meaningful, like help my girlfriend with a garage sale and get an oil change. I have to confess, I'm only too thrilled to turn the computer off and actually pretend to have a life, but don't worry, 'cuz I can't fake it for too long and I'll be back. Probably in a week. Maybe even tomorrow. I can't stay away from you all for long!
