The Israeli government has found a great distraction to it's present woes. The Settler. Since it refuses to fight as necessary against the surrounding enemy, they will attack their own instead.
Last week, Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced that security forces were striving for dialogue to try and convince the settlers to willfully evacuate the compound. However, he warned that they would be

Love can heal the deepest wounds, but it can also create them. Theres just something about him that grabs my heart, and makes me hurt that I can't have him. How come whenever I think I'm over I'm over you, then you talk to me and make me feel like I'm the most loved person in the world. And then I realize I still love you and I can't or won't get over you. I see you everyday, I talk to you everyda
Torchwood's first two-parter doesn't come off too well.As soon as the first episode has them finding bombs displaying helpful countdowns and beeping sound-effects, you get a nasty feeling that the rest of this won't have been thought-through from the individual characters' points-of-view either. And sure enough, the villain of the piece – Jack's long lost brother Gray – spends much of the story
Honey is one of the most remarkable products you can use on any wound or burn. This is a treatment that has been studied in many countries around the world and the results have been the same. By applying a small amount of honey to a wound or burn and it will heal faster and better than anything else you can apply to it. The best part is that you will not have any of the side effects that can
: Catherine , Snow_loveEarlier last week, my car got rear-ended by this young girl wearing the largest sunglasses I have ever seen. She went on for a mile a minute about how sorry she was. In the end, I had a minor scratch, so I nixed calling the cops and went on my way. If my bumper was dented, I would have gone off on her huge-glass-wearing behind. Good thing my baby was OK.Now, I feel like I go

Torchwood, you made me very sad. I am very upset with you. You are a sad show and you made me cry. I hate you (not really, I actually love too much, which is why I feel so effing betrayed).
Invisible Wounds of War# Author:Terri Tanielian and Lisa H. Jaycox# Format:PDF 2.7MB# Page Count:499# Press: RAND# ISBN:9780833044549 Since October 2001, approximately 1.64 million U.S. troops have been deployed for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) in Afghanistan and Iraq. Early evidence suggests that the psychological toll of these deployments — many involving prolonged exposure to combat-related stress over multiple rotations — may be disproportionately high compared with the physical injuries of combat. In the face of mounting public concern over post-deployment health care issues confronting OEF/OIF veterans, several task forces, independent review groups, and a Presidential Commission have been convened to examine the care of the war wounded and make recomme

About five years ago, I had an experience where I was guided by intuition to write down in as much detail as I could remember, every last painful experience I had from early childhood through to the age of 20. It took about a week to flush out every last one -- every last hurtful, shameful, guilt ridden memory -- but I did it -- and through the process, I discovered a lot of painful memories I had long buried. Needless to say, I shed a lot of tears that week. And yet, as every tear fell, I forgave myself and I forgave everyone else who played a role in my memory, and I moved on to the next. Well, in all my 47 years (thus far), this one process did more to change my life for the better than any one thing I have ever done. (And all this from someone who had a pretty good childhood!) Anyway,
Eczema wounds if not treated early or left for some time, it could lead to fungal infections. Signs of redness and inflammation would appear. Eventually, it starts to become watery. The medication that the doctor prescribed to you for consumption is just to reduce itchiness. So if you want to get rid of those wounds, I suggest you buy Canesten HC cream. The cream is particularly for inflamed ones, and it is really affective. Furthermore, it is clinically proven. But after that you have to maintain it by applying a mild moisturizer cream, to prevent the wounds from coming back. Also read:Another Tip For Eczema
Can honey be used for all wounds? the fact is that honey can be used for all types of wounds, as was revealed by repeated research in the last period.Honey impregnated cotton gauze to heal all wounds was used by the ancient Egyptians since thousands of years. They put the gauze over the wounds for 4 days needed to heal the wound.Use of honey to heal all wound types was common to all nations over d
An ancient remedy has been rediscovered for its therapeutic properties and has become a really sweet addition to treating serious wounds.
MEDIHONEY™ Wound & Burn Dressings are being distributed this month to physicians, hospitals and acute rehabilitation clinics. The product marks the first FDA clearance of a honey-based product for managing wounds and burns.
“Clinical studies of MEDIHONEY™ have shown it has promise over current treatments because of its strong wound healing benefit,” said Ed Quilty, CEO of Derma Sciences (OTCBB:DSCI), the manufacturer and marketer of MEDIHONEY™ and other advanced wound care products.
The dressings are made with Leptospermum Honey, the pollen and nectar of which comes from the Manuka bush, a wild shrub indigenous to New Zealand. The medicinal honey is harvested by beekeepers, filtered and then sterilized and standardized. Leptospermum honey dressings have been in use for some time throughout the United Kingdom, Australia and New Z
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJVWhile the verse above is not what yesterday's sermon was about, nevertheless, yesterday's sermon in church spoke to me. We were studying one of the miracles of Jesus. This was the third week of a six week series on the miracles of Jesus. You can listen here, if you so choose. (The sermon notes are also available here, if you want them.) It wasn't so much the miracle that Jesus performed, and that which was the sermon topic that had me thinking, so much as the fact that we all have wounds that keep us from being our very best, and more than just a beautiful mess. All of us bring old wounds into the present on a consistent basis. In some instances, it clouds our judgement, and in ot
I have previously written several times about "therapeutic distinctions" I've found useful in my work as a counselor and psychotherapist. "Therapeutic distinctions" are pairs of concepts that can seem similar but which have subtle differences that are useful in helping maintain good mental and emotional balance along the often rocky path of life. I encourage you to click the category entitled "Therapeutic Distinctions" and look them over if you haven't done so already. From time to time I come across another pair of therapeutic distinctions (often when they arise in a therapy session with a client) and rather than wait until I get a collection of them I'm just going to post them as they come to me. This leads to today's distinction between "wounds" and "scars".It's a very rare person who hasn't had some really bad stuff happen in his or her life. As Westley says in "The Princess Bride", "Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something." Because of t
Oh. Rutu Modan is a woman.
I haven’t come across as a complete sexist online lately (probably been three years, back at the Stop Button, when I opined a dearth of good female filmmakers and then put the statement to the test–I was correct), so maybe it’s time. Or maybe not.
I was going to say, ‘all of Exit Wounds’s defects make sense now,’ because Modan is a woman, but it’s more likely she’s just a poor writer. She makes the common mistake of using caricatures, even when–especially perhaps–it comes to the female characters (Exit Wounds is oddly anti-feminist).
The story is mildly compelling; not so much for its topical setting or its political correctness (it’s set in Israel, written for Israeli readers–moments of silence and exchanged looks are incomprehensible to someone who hasn’t experienced them; Exit Wounds is better as a cultural document than anything else–so I guess that “political correctness” slight isn’t deservin
Honey comes from the honeybee and is a highly concentrated sugar solution. Since ancient times honey has been used as medicine because of its antibacterial qualities. You can use honey as a natural treatment for wounds, burns, and other ailments. The Greeks, Chinese, Romans, and even the Egyptians understood the power of honey and regularly used honey to heal wounds, treat burns, and cure other ailments. But until just recently there was no scientific proof that honey that honey was a good choice for a natural treatment because of its antibacterial properties.Honey is so successful at treating infection because many types of microorganisms and bacteria are unable to grow in honey. That’s because honey is acidic and acid prevents the growth of bacteria. When you apply honey to a wound the fluids from the damaged tissue combine with an enzyme the bee has added to the honey and it forms hydrogen peroxide, just like the stuff you buy at the drug store. And just like the chemical form it i

It's tragically just as I predicted a few months ago, that even an attempted murder by a moonbat was likely to happen. Now, such a thing has, in Pensauken, New Jersey (via Michelle Malkin):An airman from McGuire Air Force Base remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition at a Camden hospital Thursday, a day after he was shot in the chest by another man who then took his own life. The exact circumstances of Wednesday evening’s bizarre attempted murder-suicide on Windsor Lane remained under investigation by township detectives and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.Authorities said they are still trying to determine if the gunman, identified as Matthew J. Marren, 22, of Pennsauken, knew and specifically targeted the victim, Jonathan Schrieken, 22, or if his shooting of the airman was a random act. But, based on their preliminary investigation, authorities said in a news release Thursday that it “appears to be a random act of violence and there is no indication to be
Helping healing: Researchers have found that after six months, wounds treated with a subject's own blood-based gel (bottom) healed faster than those treated with traditional antibiotic ointment (top). Credit: David HomHow to Heal Wounds FasterA platelet-rich gel derived from one's own blood could speed up the healing of wounds and cuts.Researchers at the University of Cincinnati say that a topical gel derived from a patient's own blood may help prevent infection while speeding up the healing process. The finding could mean that, in the not too distant future, a concentrated "cocktail" of a person's own blood could be used to help dress wounds, particularly in patients with diabetes or other disorders that slow the healing process.Blood's healing effects lie in its platelets--sticky, disc-shaped molecules that naturally flock to the site of a wound, binding to blood-vessel walls to stop bleeding. These platelets are thought to contain elevated levels of growth factors that, when r
An innovative gel, made from patient’s own blood cells, heals wounds faster and more effectively than antibiotics. Autologous platelet gel, or APG, is made from platelet cells, which naturally work to stop bleeding when blood vessels are punctured. In your body, platelets form a clump at the wound site, release chemicals to make blood clot and then form a scab to start the healing process. The gel is made by concentrating blood into a rich plasma with high levels of platelets that is thick enough to rub on wounds. In one small study, wounds treated with APG healed completely in close to 80 percent of cases, compared to just 50 percent of cases treated with antibiotics.A separate study showed the gel to heal wounds faster than those treated with an antibiotic ointment. The gel may one day help to prevent infections with hospital superbugs and help people with diabetes who suffer from chronic ulcers. While APG is being worked out, though, there are already some great options to help wounds
When growing up I felt responsible for my mothers life, for her wellbeing and her drinking. This is not unusual for children to alcoholics, but I think my feeling for responsibility was increased as my mother lived trough me and I was the only life she had. I did not want her to live trough me, I wanted to have my own independent life and that destroyed her...at least that is how I feel. How much can you help a person who is depressed? How much is your responsibility if you have someone close to you who is depressed? None is the intellectual answer, a lot is the emotional answer. If you love somebody, you want that person to be happy, and many times you might think the resposibility is yours to make sure the person feels better.Love does not heal all wounds but love might help you heal yourself. But you need to have the courage within you to take that journey trough your soul. So I guess the answer to my thoughts (if there really is an answer) is that love the person who has a hard tim
I can tell you in two words what Israels problem was as far as their war with Hezbollah last year and why they pretty much lost. Political correctness.Good job liberals, you have infected the last democratic country to have consistently shown courage in the face of overwhelming adversity. I can remember when our country was of a similar stripe. But the socialists in the media and the Democrat party have injected the poison of political correctness into the jugular vein of America. At one time Israel would simply go balls to the wall against their enemy neighbors and to hell with world opinion. And guess what they would win.every.damned.time.. But now they are letting their enemies dictate the rules that they have to fight by. And of course those rules only apply to Israel. Sound familiar? That's why we lost in Vietnam and why we are losing in Iraq. And we are barely holding our own in Afghanistan. We unquestionably have the most technically advanced military on the planet and yet w

From time to time, most cats will sustain minor wounds. These wounds are usually as a result of fights with dogs or other cats or when attacking prey. The cats ears, face, and front paws are most vulnerable. One should inspect wounds for any dirt or other matter that could be removed with cotton wool and then bathe the wound in a salt solution, 1 tsp to 1 pint of cooled, boiled water. You should not use proprietary disinfectants as these may be harmful to the cat. If the wound fails to heal or developes an abcess seek veterinary attention asap.

Last night there was an interview with Vince Papale broadcast over the Bravo Network.Papale, the former Philadelphia Eagles' walk-on, talked a little about the movie Invincible, made about his life. The more I watched, the closer I listened."This isn't a movie about me or about the Eagles or even about pro football," Papale said. "It's about everybody who has been told they couldn't or that they can't or that they won't or that they should just stop trying and give up."It's about Temple football, the movie Invincible is, in its own way.How many of us in the Temple family have been told to give up, to stop trying, that they couldn't or wouldn't be able to succeed?Just about everyone, I'd imagine."This is a story about underdogs," Papale said. That's what made Saturday so great _ not that a 19-point underdog rose up and won by two touchdowns, but that the same program people said wouldn't or couldn't win a game did just that. It's the first of many. The pain of b
