Tonight after dinner I fix CJ a big bowl of ice cream with hot fudge sauce and sprinkles.
I head back to the kitchen to put away the ice cream. When I return I find that CJ has stripped off all his clothes and is thoroughly licking the bottom of his bowl. Chocolate and ice cream are smeared [...]

This cartoon by the famous Syrian cartoonist Ali Farzat gave me an idea that have been dazzling me for a while -is a state of WORLD WIDE PEACE is going to occur at some point in the human future-.I know most of you would think it an impossible dreamer's fancy since humans are egoist by nature and it would be impossible to be able to love if you can’t hate but hey every thing has a beginning. w

There are so many great lines in here I couldn't possibly recite them all in a timely manner. Watch as the Pink-O Berkeley protesters make the case against themselves without even realizing it. Awesome.
Pune can now boast a symbol of world peace. A unique 'earth peace' temple has come up recently at the Siddhanath forest ashram in Sinhagad, around 35 km from the city, which houses a one-of-its-kind Shivling made of paras mani (solidified mercury). According to Yogiraj Siddhanath, a spiritual guru and founder of the Hamsa Yoga Sangh, a non-profit organisation that offers training in natural and healthy practices, the Shivling is a symbol for 'earth peace.' The temple was opened on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Yogiraj Siddhanath told The Indian Express on Tuesday that the Shivling, which weighed over a tonne and was around 30 inches in height, was possibly the largest known akhand (unbroken) Shivling. "It can be termed the elusive philosopher's stone and has a distinctive spher
Now I’m not one for philosophy, but writing about my Caucasian cognac picnic in the last post brought all the memories flooding back to me.
After a few cognacs chased by lush dark chocolate (I was only in it for the chocolate, honest), my Pre-Elbrus Region National Park ranger and I started talking about the big [...]
War in Iraq. Gas prices are at all time high. Maybe wearing this shirt can take ME back to a simplier time when the peace was plentiful and gas was 89 cents a gallon.World Peace Sweater, $17.80, forever21
World Peace? Ya ya, we’ve heard it all before. Well here’s my take on it- just read it.
Maybe someone can explain this to me. When an individual is asked about a political view or some opinion on ethics, most educated people seems to be somewhat rational about it. Whether we agree with them or not, it is apparent that they have thought over the topic and have formed a strong opinion or solution to the matter; for example, most of us have pretty strong opinions about abortion, civil rights, racism, religion, and conspiracies. On the other hand, collectively, our reasons for major decisions are childish and ignorant. I shall explain what I mean in this jumbled spaghetti format.

On September 18th, Bodhi wrote a great post entitled, “Daisaku Ikeda Writes About Peace and Human Security.” I often reflect while chanting on what I can do personally to create kosenrufu. I am beginning to see that kosenrufu begins with one person - ourselves. And then, we try to spread kosenrufu to each of the environments that our lives touch. We encourage our friends, families, block, neighborhood, community, workplace associates, school community, city, county, state, country, and friends near and far. I think that kosenrufu begins with us but ends with sharing it with others - whomever and wherever our lives touch. I’m committed to sharing this Buddhism with others and propagating world peace. Are you?
I’d love to hear how you are sharing this wonderful Buddhism and creating world peace.

I am just smitten with cookies. They are like a chocolate-chocolate chip cookie, but better. They are sweet, buttery, and have just a hint of saltiness to them that makes them ...umph! I can't even come up with a word to properly describe them. I do have to warn you that they are addictive. These crisp circles of buttery goodness makes it impossible to have just one. I have to say these cookies are crazy good! They're sweet and salty all in one bite! Of course, this has to be one of Dorie's fabulous recipes. I baked these cookies for a concert I was attending on Friday. My boyfriend and I attended a Hollywood Bowl concert honoring The Beatles 40th Anniversary of Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (album). It's the album that changed the world, according to my boyfriend. The Hollywood Bowl is a great place for concerts, they allow one to picnic and to bring a bottle(s) of wine. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and Cheap Trick performed the entire album along with guest vocal

Why does it take a disaster to bring us together? Recent tragedies like 911, Hurricane Katrina, and the Tsunami remind us of who we are deep inside - a spiritually connected part of a large extended family, a web of living beings, sharing a tiny biosphere, on a small planet. As Albert Einstein reminded us, “our separation from each other is an optical illusion of consciousness.” Disasters jolt us out of the sleepwalking that can happen as we focus on the daily business of life and survival with our self focused agendas, even our higher spiritual ones. Disasters also can open our hearts, as spiritual energy comes through us and is released in the form of compassion to others. Collectively, a chain reaction of goodness can come as a flood, but then, after the crisis, a “spiritual dam” may form once again within us and we go back to the sleep of our busy lives.
What Keeps Us From Sustaining This Level of Heart Opening Every Day?
First, we are immersed in a materialistic culture t
5 Things women can't change about their bodies
1. Your Knees: Knobby? Knock-Kneed? Rather than focus on bones and tendons you can't change, target muscley places you can tweak, such as your calves and thighs.
2. Your Breast Size: Certain exercises - and maybe having a baby - can give you a little more lift or cleavage, but you can't trade up a cup (or more) without surgical assistance.
3. Your lips: Unless you're willing to subject yourself to needles and cosmetic fillers, your best lip upgrade is a little gloss and a smile.
4. Your overall body type: You're going to look better if you work with your shape rather than try to make it into someone else's. Don't try to get Gisele's body if you are 5'1"... she is 5'11".
5. The width of your hips: If you've got extra padding, that's one thing. But if you inherited your mother's curvy hips, embrace them, because they're here to stay.
Clinton is on the beach at Martha's Vinyard and finds that an old bottle has washed ashore. When the Prez opens it a very wan Genie snakes out.Genie: Hi Bill. Give me that.Genie: That's a little hard, give me something easier.Clinton: Make Hillary into the most beautiful woman in the world?Genie: World peace it is.
US is now seen as a threat to world peace by its closest neighbours and allies, according to an international survey of public opinion published today that reveals just how far the country's reputation has fallen among former supporters since the invasion of Iraq. Only 10% of British voters think that Mr Bush poses no danger at all... [more on the guardian]site feed atom xml
