Hi all, I’m writing this post today mainly to introduce you to a very funny advertisement I saw the other day. As I said in the title, it will have you wondering…what is being advertised!

During Spring Training there was some talk about Joba developing a 2-seam, sinking fastball to go along with his four-seamer, slider, curve and change. Well he's now started using all five pitches regularly. From Peter Abraham:He threw 88 pitches. Jorge Posada estimated that 55 of them were fastballs. Of that, 10 were two-seam, sinking fastballs. That’s a pitch Chamberlain learned from Chien-Ming

Wondering how to celebrate Father’s Day in HD? Well a good idea will be to see what you’re father would like for his special day. My dad and his brothers used to enjoy a cookout or a barbecue with his children and family and his favorite food - a nice grilled steak, chocolate cake, ice [...]
I’ve been getting quite a few emails asking to know what is happening on the adoption front. I have have been reticent to publicly address this as I have worried it may impact any chance of bringing home a child.

It was only a magnitude 1.8 on the scale geologists use. But its center was just a mile from Annandale, Va., in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. — enough to get the attention of scientists and local emergency officials.
It happened on Tuesday afternoon, and though it did no damage, hundreds of people called local news [...]
Almost all internet sales copy seems to begin with a massive headline. Like this:
Maybe it’s just me, but I rarely read those headlines. I just see that huge, intimidating chunk of text and decide to move on. Not that it’s bad to have that amount of information right off the bat, but isn’t there some way [...]

OK so I ended last week on a fun note....visions of my work in a Museum.Middle of the week, and I can't even seem to get them correctly printed.OK, I tell a lie the three Zig Zag escapades: "Ciao", "Footloose" and "Fancy Free" they are printed, protectively packaged and ready for export. They are looking GOOD and officially for sale.Popular demand has meant "Head to Toe" should also be available
I was first drawn to these shoes because of their cost. They didn’t break my budget. I love the feel of the sandals and want to spread the word about how great they are to everyone I come across. Not all shoes are equal and these draw the line above and beyond [...]
The U.S. financial sector has been rocked by subprime mortgages, which essentially provided a way into real estate for people who wouldn't qualify for conventional mortgages. But Turner told CTV.ca the real story is that housing prices in the U.S. got more expensive than Americans could afford. In Canada, real estate prices have essentially doubled in five years. Turner said he didn't think that was a "reasonable" increase.Over that period, household incomes have stayed essentially flat, he added.

I read a news article in the Thursday February 28th edition of The Maui News which has kept me pondering for many days now. The headline read, "Doctors say kidney disease affects 1 in 7 residents of Hawaii." And since I've been living in Hawaii (Maui) for the last seventeen years, why wouldn't I pay attention to these odds?!The article stated that Hawaii ranks highest in the nation for chronic kidney disease! And "if these numbers grow, clinics will be overwhelmed and the disease's toll will rise." Reading this made me wonder WHY, and I'm not buying the speculation printed in the article which suggested that the reason kidney disease is so prevalent is because it "more often affects minorities like Native Hawaiians, Filiponos and Japanese."I think the cause is the Vog (volcanic pollution c

I always wonder if there is really someone that’s meant for each one of us. You would always hear them say, someone is dreaming of you somewhere out there, just as you are dreaming of this person you are yet to meet. Well, personally I don’t know if I should believe this. Umm, maybe partly. I mean, not that I am holding on to this thought. I can’t also say whether I’m a hopeless romantic or what. But with the things that I used to hear, and with the knowledge that I know about it.. I just can’t tell. Laughs! I’m not really an expert when it comes to matters of heart but my friends would always say I’m like “Dyosa ng Love Quotes and Payos”, Answering Machine, and all that. They say I seem to know a lot from these when I talk like I am saying, "bee

Am I ever going to have a boring day where nothing happens? I am really starting to wonder.. I thought maybe yesterday was the day but as luck would have it I was wrong. After setting the tree up we rushed to the Christmas parade where
Just in case you where wondering, I am moving the weekly Fantasy Football MVP post from Tuesdays to Fridays.
Because of the Thursday night games the rest of the season, I am rearranging my schedule a bit to get the Bruno Boys Start’em Sit’em podcast, that I co-host and produce, out a little earlier.
How is the weather today? Today it was hot! It was around 28-30 degrees Celsius.
What has the weather been like this past week? It’s been raining, it’s been stinking hot, it’s been blowing a gale! Crazy weather!
Did it get in the way/or did you take advantage to do something? As soon as it starts warming up, the babes want to go to the beach or to the pool after school every afternoon.
Thanks to Tina for hosting Tina’s Tuesdays

The other day, my friend Jen was in a mood. I'm not going to say a bad mood or a sad mood, I'll leave it to her to decide what type of mood it was. But she was in need of reminding that good things still existed in this fecked up world.

I'm onto the last sleeve of my cardigan. I think I must have the attention span of a very small insect because already I'm thinking about what to knit next. I've got some Rowan kidsilk Haze in a beautiful teal color which I could make a lovely scarf out of but it's still summer and feels too warm to be using mohair. Plus, I find it hard to get excited about mohair because I find it too scratchy to wear myself. I'm feeling far too selfish at present to be knitting gifts - that's something I have a real winder association with.
Cole and I went fruit picking yesterday, which was fun-if prickly! We got a tub full of tayberries, which I don't think are 100% ripe so we're going to make jam with them. Having never made jam I'm swinging from blind optimism (obviously driven by total ignorance) to rigid fear (ditto!) Any jam making tips you have will be very gratefully received!

photo by In The Sun StudioSome of the new visitors to the blog may be wondering if you have anxiety or not. It took me YEARS to figure out that I had anxiety and panic attacks. Sometimes its hard to understand what is happening to you. Many people wander into ER's all the time with potential heart attacks or thinking that they are dying only to find out that they were having a panic attack. So its important to find out why your body is doing something that has you concerned.I found a stress test on Webmd that can help you evaluate if you have a high level of stress or not. It also has an article about managing your anxiety which I think is pretty interesting. It lists some symptoms to help you know if you should seek help or not as well as how to cope with your symptoms. Here is a small excerpt:"When anxiety is taking a toll, your body knows it. You have trouble sleeping, eating, and concentrating. You get headaches; your stomach is upset. You might even have a panic attack -- the pou
This is the question every girl who ever felt an attraction to a guy wants to know. At school you can get your friends to go and ask him - but once you're out on the adult dating scene, things become a little more complicated. Basically you're on your own! Of course, if you know someone who knows him, then you've got a head start but if the guy is a stranger to the group you usually hang out with then you need to acquire a little bit of knowledge in the body language department! If you haven't gotten as far as an introduction with the guy yet, try and catch his eye when you see him next. Does he hold your gaze? This is encouraging - he's interested enough to return your look instead of looking away. Have you looked in his direction and found him staring at you? Again, another good sign. Now you need to get a little more pro-active...faint heart never won fair lady, and these days it doesn't win attractive guys either! Have an excuse to move over to where he's standing. Smile and
From IBIEHey You...Well I've been going out of my head lately.... I don't know why, it seems that since I arrived to St. Louis, I've living a whole new life, a bunch of new experiences... Everything's cool... I'm missing a lot, and I'm learning a lot...I kinda remember a saying I heard (actually I read it, CC) in a movie:*Life is not the amount of breaths you take, it's the moments that take your breath away. *shine on,JL_
Good evening, and welcome to the soap opera that is my life.
The last couple of days has been bliss, just hanging with him. Then when he leaves I always think about why the hell they still live together, what he has told her and what’s going on, and it makes me sick. Today is the first day in two weeks that I’ve had proper meals and actually has felt full for more than five minutes.
He’s incredible cute and sends me messages about how he miss me and wants to be with me and so on.
But the pink elephant is still there. I met her yesterday, and I was looking down to give her time to just pass by in silence, but instead she yelled: “HELLOOOO!” to me and smiled. She hates me. And she’s doing everything to make my life miserable. Not that I’m entitled to complain, but what the hell: I’m going to anyway.
So today I asked him if he wasn’t afraid that he’s throwing everything away for something that could last for only a month or s

You know... everything I've started to type about for morning coffee talk this morning turns into a downer. My thoughts and frustrations that I don't share on this board start to show through and I end up venting frustrations that I really don't care to share on a blog so that leaves me with little to say once I delete it all.

Yoga is a way out of this stressful life that we all lead in our "modern" lives. This is why yoga is becoming more and more popular worldwide. There are, however, people who have not had sufficient information about yoga to convince them that this is one of the best possible exercises which benefit both the mind and the body.See the Light on Yoga Before seeing the light on yoga, let us first understand the essential methods/ principles of practicing this ancient workout. You will need a few basics:1. Airy space - when you practice yoga, ensure you have a lighted (preferably by the sun) room and your mat and nothing else. The room, the ambiance and your mind should all be as comfortable as ever.2. Right time of the day - the right time to practice yoga is when you feel like it. There is no mandatory right time, though some people would advice to use the early morning, just before dawn as the best time ever. However, the advanced books on yoga and the information we have on the Internet

Ok, so I did manage to pull down my drunken post because...well...because I was drunk, lol. It sounded just a wee bit stupid, but if you did see it, then you may be wondering what happened that night.Well, I'm not going to say :) HA!I will say this - we had a wonderful time, I enjoyed meeting him, but nothing will come out of it, because as the night went on he got more and more drunk until I basically couldn't take it anymore. Drinking is great, enjoyable even, but when someone becomes beligerent I just have to say no. What a shame :(But I learned my lesson once, and I'm not doing that again! But for a couple of hours at least I was have a really really good time. The fact of the matter is I am still legally married. Unfortunate, but true. Somehow, even though everything is over and done with, I take that seriously. So, until the day we are offically divorced (anyone have about $1625 to let me borrow?? lol) I will be the good girl I was brought up to be, and stick to being s
Ruby's madly trying to figure out what she did right. She's loving the new diet, and seems to have no itchiness. Ha.There was knitting today at the park with the homeschool gang. I'm almost done knitting one legwarmer. I'm making them in celebration of taking the Fluidity plunge. I still want a studio mirror and some dance clothes. I prefer them to yoga clothes for this. Or maybe summer yoga, a tank and hot pants. That would work. My dancer self is ecstatic. I just wish it was a group class, but this is a close second, and maybe K will do some with me. The homeschool mamas want a moms and kids knitting class again. I may just do that. Twice a month? In the meantime, while I await the arrival of my computer and the barre, I have to ask: what are they thinking over at Phillips? Are they serious? Is the word "women" really general enough in this instance? And why, oh, why do I so often think I will not get sunburned when I'm the one in the group who will even if no one else does? My ey

For everyone who hears "Sen. Edward Kennedy" and goes straight to drunk/Chappaquiddick I am not arguing those points. He may very well be guilty of both. Just don't let it blind you to the relevance of the questions he is asking below: Senator Edward Kennedy, on the senate floor, debating the opposition on raising the minimum wage:"Do you have such disdain for hard-working Americans that you want to pile all your amendments on this? Why don't you just hold your amendments until other pieces of legislation? Why this volume of amendments on just the issue to try and raise the minimum wage? What is it about it that drives you Republicans crazy? What is it? Something. Something! What is the price that the workers have to pay to get an increase? What is it about working men and women that you find so offensive?" Hmmmm.....My guess is because they won't shut the hell up and obey their Masters. How annoying that must be for the Masters of the Universe not to mention th

Not the ones next door this time, I'm curious as to what has happened to Smokey Joe. Last night, at about 8.45, the police rang my doorbell to ask if I had seen him recently. It would appear that his daughter has contacted them because he hasn't been in touch since before Christmas by the sound of things. I haven't seen him recently, but I didn't see much of him anyway and as I said to the police the only way I tended to know he was around was when I got the smell of cigarette smoke in my bathroom. Anyway, the police then proceeded to batter down his front door. I'm assuming that they didn't find a corpse in there since there was no sign of an ambulance at any time. They stayed until about 11.30ish, I think waiting for a glazier and someone to deal with the door to repair the damage. I did pop out with the name and mobile number of the flat owner but it took me a ridiculously long time to find. Don't know whether it would be of any use to them. The evil streak in me sugges

how to say more inspirational prayers? I know I have. Luckily this morning I stumbled across a wonderful article by Dee Bishop that was very helpful. The title is What Should We Pray and when I read the 1st paragraph,"Prayer is an important aspect of our Christian faith. That's probably why there are hundreds - or thousands! - of books and articles on the subject of prayer. Many of them address the issue of HOW to pray without covering WHAT to pray... what to say when you pray. "I knew it was perfect for me and wanted to share it with you too. A few months ago Topix, a site with 50% of its traffic coming from Google, announced they were moving from Topix.net to Topix.com.The Wall Street Journal picked up the story and quite a lot of SEO people no doubt read it so lets see how the move is going so far.A search for "topix" brings up the new site no problems and the .com domain has over a million results indexed so is everything going well? The .net version still has 70,000 results indexed and the .net domain doesn't seem to redirect to the .com, even when I set my user agent to be Google.I'm confused as to why the site would buy a new domain to improve branding and not redirect traffic to the new site. Having 2 different sites is confusing for users and for search engines. Also, why are they selling links using Text Link Ads if they value Google traffic so highly? Do the advertisers on this page know they are paying money for a link with nofollow? Would you buy a tiny footer link with nofollow?--------------------------------
