It got cold in Korea. Like yesterday. I’m already pretty sick of it. My favorite watering hole, a plastic table outside a convenience store, is now essentially worthless. C’est la vie, I won’t be here too much longer anyway. My flight out is scheduled to happen, well, it’s not scheduled yet, I could be leaving here anytime between last Thursday and February, I’ve been told pretty mu

Sorry guys, but this is my favorite scene from As Good As It Gets starring Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt, Greg Kinnear, Cuba Gooding Jr., Skeet Ulrich, and Shirley Knight. The 1997 film was directed by James L.Brooks who co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Andrus, who wrote the story. Laura Ziskin produced the picture. If you missed this all star cast in this fabulous film, rent it, because this is not
Latest rebound on COMEX may extend as equities weakness seen around to stayCOEMX Gold managed to hold its gains throughout the day as the commodity market participants sensed that the latest rebound in the yellow metal is sort of a deviation from the normal pattern of ‘rising equities falling gold' associated with the yellow metal. The refusal of COMEX Gold to slump further after breaking below

This morning I barely rolled myself out of bed to start getting ready for the first of my 3 exams to get certified as a teacher in the state of Florida. This first exam (General Knowledge) consisted of 3 parts - Reading, Language skills, and Math (I dreaded the math). I might not live in Florida in the future or even want to be a teacher, but I think the experience and attempt at these exams is
My colleagues are all very excited today because today is Friday. Weekend is coming and everyone is planning where to go for the weekend. Some planning for a short trip for the whole family, some plan to go back hometown to visit the grandparents, some plan to just stay at home and relax. When I asked David what's his plan, he told me although he will have some activities at home. What kind of act

So, it's the weekend.
What up?
Thus far, as usual ours has been a frenzy of sports.
Actually, it started earlier in the week.
There have been several volleyball games at Busy Girl's school, and some of them are broadcast on the Internet.
If you know me and the school, tune in and you can occasionally hear me calling some of them, but I'm not the dominant female voice.
I'm just a game her
Thoughts from my first (yeah, I’m lucky) weekend working experienceI’ve just finished my first experience of working in the weekend. What once was a personal taboo of mine is no more. I’ve worked through the very late evening on Thursday to avoid bringing work home but still couldn’t avoid some required finishing work.Working in the weekends is not as devilish as I thought it would be. I a
Saturday was spent at work, since we were unable to complete our end of the month projects. I worked about 7 hours, and called it a day. Saturday evening was spent watching "Psycho," a 1960 horror/thriller. This is the first time I have ever seen this particular movie, and it was a good one. The acting is superb, and the setting is chilling. I also turned to a six-pack of beer, instantly maki

Weekends are where in the past my previous diet attempts have all died. I can go to work and school all week and stay as straight as an arrow when it comes to my diet and exercise plan. My previous fitness attempts have all died between Friday-Sunday. So to be successful this go around I have to ask myself why and I can come up with 2 reasons.I'm Bored. The first reason I think I blow my diet on t
This is the tail end of my second long weekend in a row, two four day weekends one after the other, wonderful. However, before you get too jealous let me tell you what these weekends have consisted of. Last weekend, which began on Wednesday evening with a lovely meal at a Japanese restaurant to celebrate our third wedding anniversary, went on to involve me learning how to point the brickwork. There

I was introduced to Braid through a friend of mine, who said it was “an amazing concept for a game.” I had heard mention of this beast in Penny Arcade’s news post, but only fleetingly. So Saturday I sat down and played the Trial Demo. I instantly liked it. I bought it and I’m still working on it. I’m on World 5 now, and damn it’s getting tough. Basically the whole mechanic Bra
I got a message last night on my voice mail, that I might just keep forever. It was my grand-son. In his sheepishly shy voice he asked could he come see me and grandpa. Over and Over. I couldn't call him back fast enough to ask what this was all about. He told me "I just want to see you". "I love you".
Well, folks let me tell you something right now. If you melted the first time your child said "
It is a known fact that weekends are not our friend when it comes to weight loss. Nope. They call to us like the devil. Inviting us to indulge when we would ordinarily not. Why is that? I found a study that supports this nifty fact.
“Weekend indulgences can wreak havoc on weight control, either causing our weight to increase or if we are following a diet to lose weight, can hinder our weight l

Fly by! Last I blinked it was Friday afternoon. A weekend full of School clothes shopping for Sassy Girl, which is quite stressful in itself. She is quite fashion forward but at the same time is quite particular on how things fit. (HealthDay News) -- Anyone who has avoided Monday morning weigh-ins knows this unalterable truth: Weekends are not a dieter's friend. Now, researchers have some science to back up dieters' complaints about weekends being their undoing: Most people do eat more on the weekend, even when they're trying to lose weight."Weekend indulgences can wreak havoc on weight control, either causing our weight to

I didn't know how precious weekends are until lately--It's the time for people to do things of their own. Thank god I didn't volunteer to do that job, otherwise I would've been to spend my whole weekend in the cubicle. Got up early in the morning and trying to get lazy while washing sheets and stuff, but a bad call totally made me crushed. What on earth did I do to deserve this? Do I really have a fate to be miserable? If I can do anything to save this, I would do anything for sure. I hope to get better soon since working stuff has already handed down some pressure to me. I gradually begin to get to know what is going on in the new environment and hopefully I can find the comfort zone like I was having in SJTU as soon as possible. Also, my campus card was frozen by the admin, and I was qu

I have a keen dislike for Bank Holiday weekends. For starters, I have to say that I think the Australian term for having an official nation-wide ‘day off’ from work is far more accurate than the British term. We Aussies refer to these blessed days as ‘Public Holidays’, because that’s exactly what they [...]

All my weekends was busy, even the recent thursday was a holiday, yet I was so busy, running here and there. Why??I was with TS sourcing for new clothers and bags to import to her sister shop at his home town. I can say, doing business is not easy. You need to have the vision to see which pattern or design will the customer buy. What will sell best, what will not. Sometimes, the pattern or design I like and I think it will sell alot, no people interested. But those items I think which is just so so, TS or his sister will say they like it. And sometimes it will sell even more. Funny right? Different people have different view of design and pattern.TS sister shop is in the only shopping mall at Pontian Kechil Town, Johor. Anyone staying there can go there and have a look. It will be the lates
One of the greatest difficulties I find in trying to achieve work-life balance is: the lost weekends. For many reasons, I should be referring to them as the “gift weekends,” the “blessed weekends,” or the “found weekends.” We spend every moment of them with our kids, which means we spend more time playing, laughing, and being silly than we ever did (or could have) in our weekends before kids. But as far as handling the demands of work, they are the “lost weekends”:The weekends used to be a time where I could consistently put in several extra hours— and as much as 10 or 20 hours when things were really hopping. The weekends used to be a time where I could consistently get some rest. Actual physical rest like sleep, and equally or more importantly, mental and emotional rest—
For the past few days, and even at this point of time, I’m very busy working with websites. The amount of work pending for my completion is enormous. I owe a few people some websites, and at the same time I’m trying to maintain some sites for testing purpose.Sitting in front of the computer, straining my brain to debug and forcing concentration on some boring repeating procedures almost caused my suicidal.Nevertheless this is what I prefer to do, and that I did make some achievements somehow, for instance, on design and implementation of features. The hands-on on a couple of new stuffs were good experience. I need to release some of my energy for new input of knowledge, open myself up and explore more. The “Quit Smoking” site is still on hold due to time restriction and sadly, nobod
It's been a great weekend I must say, but if it could drag on a little longer, it'd be totally better!
I'm so totally in the weekend mood still, and I really wanna spend more time with my Teddybear.
It's not everyday you get to wake up, go for breakfast, thereafter, spending the whole day walking around, shopping and chatting away without a worry in the world. (Except what'd we be having for dinner?)
Here's a couple of stuff I bought,

{summary}One (of many) things that really irks me is when someone tells me that I “don’t understand” what they’re trying to explain.
I understand perfectly well. I especially understand that some people don’t want to listen to what I have to say that negates their spiel. It just isn’t convenient for them at that moment for me to be right.
I’m specifically referring to one particular incident at work where I caught a client in a lie. She was confrontational from the get-go. I explained the information that had been provided to me that didn’t line up with the statement she originally provided. I know what information she’d provided because I was taking notes during my interview. I tried to express to the client that she had lied durin

Inspired by the documentaries of Louie Theroux on his show entitled "Weird Weekends". I've decided to create some weird weekends of my own. With saturdays and sundays being the only free time in my schedule (usually), it's the only time I can allot for a little adventure. I'm craving for new stuff, perhaps someplace I have never been to or only go to a few times a year. So may the weekends be
ne of the ongoing debates in the 'blogosphere' is whether or not to post on the weekends. Some people say that since their traffic generally goes down on the weekends they should save their best posts for when their site is receiving the most amount of people. Others say that posting on the weekend is a great way to get new readers since a lot of people are home during the weekend.
Affordable City BreaksThe response for our cheap city breaks has been overwhelming, the location of our holiday parks in relation to the European cities could be a factor or the pick-a-day arrival feature could be another reason or maybe just the affordable price, but whatever the reason is they are selling fast and you don't want to lose out.Short breaks or long weekends are a great getaway and the cost is low also, especially as you are paying for the accommodation not per person, this makes it great value for money. To view our cheap city breaks and see what takes your fancy have a look here! In My Traffic Is Gone! My Blog Is Dying!, I once said that a traffic shortage on a blog might be due to a holiday. Almost all countries have weekends as their holidays. During weekends, most people including your readers might be lazing around, not wanting to touch their computer and even they do, they are in a lazy mode. Your number of comments will fall and you will see a slide in your traffic.
I will be sharing a few tips on the aspects on weekend blogging which will add value to your blog but at the same time not making you presenting to the wall.
No Pillar Articles
Pillar articles are contents that are really important to your blog. These are the great posts and you will be expecting a huge inflow of traffic using these articles. If you post these during weekends, readers might not have the chance to see it on top of your blog because it was pushed down through the chronological system of a blog. Linkbaiting mails will be left alone in the inbox of bloggers whom you tried to bait

I know, I used to love them once upon a time. Now I hate them. DH is home all day, I have the girls to deal with, and DS is not in school. My BFF is never online to play, and I get totally overwhelmed with house, and family...and there is no escape (It's hard to come up with things to do that are FREE...and since we have no money, free is all we can do). This weekend we add on one sick hubby and two girls still recovering from sicky...not to mention that I still feel like crap (today is the best I've felt all week).
The antsy feeling is upon us as the day seems to tick away slower than ever. There are pay checks to cash, and there are friends to meet. You have prepared with a new ensemble of plus size clothing that matches your impeding excitement. The weekend is here!
As the week finally comes to an end, [...]
The weekends is here again! This week, it looks like it’s time to give my bathroom and bedroom a good clean up and reorganizing. I don’t know about you but I’m particular with bathroom cleanliness and bedroom neatness. Somehow, walking into a clean and nice bedroom is not only good for hygiene and health reasons but it brings upon a sense of relaxation. Perhaps I should get myself a new set of bathroom vanities since the old one is looking so old and tatty. New sheets for the bedroom are nice to sleep on and help to spruce up the room. Sometimes, these little things can make life more interesting, a little better and happier
This morning I found myself thinking about my daughters high school graduation. My first thought was 'can we buy her off and simply give her a ticket to Europe to backpack for 2 months instead of holding a big reception here at the house for her?' but the second thought, immediately following that was; 'how can I make her reception cooler and different than all the other hundreds of
Have not blogged for nearly two weeks. Reasons? Too busy, too busy. When I am busy, my blogs are the first casualties. I wish I had the same discipline with my blogs as with my work. Somehow, when deadlines at work are hanging, I would simply forego anything and stay up at night however long to get my work done. Somehow, there is a 'must', 'absolute' feeling in my head. Not with my blogs, nor
Weekends. Isn’t that a wonderful word??
Although I am around the house pretty regularly, weekends really are my favorite time to be at home. Something about a Saturday or Sunday simply makes the light look different and of course, it’s way more relaxed, especially when your teenager can sleep until noon if you let him. IF. That’s a big IF. I never let him and I secretly think that he hates those moments when I plunge head long into his room on a weekend morning, pull up his blind and start ripping the blankets off of him in earnest, calling out to him in my most annoying sing-song voice to get hisself outta that bed. Or quite possibly, he loves it to death. Maybe.
Then you have weekends where your most fun and adorable nephew Matt visits and you get treated to his warm jack-o-lantern smile (he’s 7 and rapidly replacing all his baby teeth) and a willingness to chow down a large plate of pancakes because he LOVES them so much.
Look at that last photo…the
A while ago I added those little rectangular icon thingies (they are actually called chicklets!) down on the left hand side of the page. I did it because it's meant to be a great way of publicising your blog, but it has an interesting side effect. I have always been able to look at all sorts of stats and graphs and stuff to see how many people come to Tasweb, where they come from, how long they stay, which pages they view etc etc, but now you can all see some of those stats yourself. If you click on this link it will take you to Topblogsites and you will be able to view a graph of the unique visitors to Tasweb. I was looking at this today and noticed that it goes in waves that peak at about 200 visitors a day with lows of about 125 unique visitors a day. I wondered why this happened and then I noticed that the peaks were always on weekends. Looks as though all that talk about workers spending all day on the Internet may not be true!
This weekend we had a house full, old friends, small people and our son. I love it when the house is full to bursting, lots to eat and drink and just good times. We were lucky with some fantastic late summer, early autumn weather. Here is Joe beneath a deep blue sky on the beach. I haven't seen him since he left for Australia nearly a year ago and it is with great pleasure that I can feed him up, let him have lie-ins and generally indulge him like I never did when he lived at home. Justin and Sam and their baby Eliza, the little poppet, she is a really good little thing with a very endearing habit of "eye smiling" when she likes you but an alarming habit of climbing, very fast, almost before you have blinked she is up up and away, scaling chairs, stairs and other household objects. I had forgotten quite how busy little people keep you.Last but not least is "dear old Dom" , here he is with HBB. I care for this chap very much, I worry that he does not look after himself well enough
It’s pretty depressing that when you are trying to get things done for them, they have the cheeks to suspect you. Are there too many dark secrets that nobody else should know? What’s more worth spitting is the empty promise from the bullshit king. They are just trying to bully everyone. Don’t plead people to burn their weekends for you and you turn your back after that. Now, I’m certain about my decision and I know this is the best path I have made in my entire life to leave. Don’t test my patience and force me to curse you stingy assholes.

How about spending a Labor Day weekend out of the country? It’s easier than you might expect. A few years ago, Palm Springs, California-based travel writer and hospitality industry consultant Pam Price couldn’t resist the opportunity to go to Australia—even though what for many people would be the trip of a lifetime for her lasted one weekend.

When I get off the plane on trips to Washington D.C. and see the nation’s capital on the drive from Reagan airport a sense of patriotism comes over me. Yes, a bit strange, even surprising from a person who lives in the liberal/radical bubble of San Francisco. I know I am crazy, but I love history and D.C. is a city that epitomizes the past, present and future of this country. I am not saying the USA is a perfect country, far from it. We have our problems, mistakes that have happened and continue to happen, our overbearing media blitzes, unfavorable decisions about politics, foreign policy, domestic policy and so on and so forth (but what country doesn’t I ask?). When Americans travel throughout the world there is this preconceived notion that we think we are better than everyone else. Well Americans that do travel don’t generally think this and if you give them a chance and get to know them you will find that most are people with drive, enthusiasm, kindness an
Yes I have written about Chicago before, but seriously now, there is no better city to visit in the summer than sweet home Chicago. So it is humid on some days. So Michigan Avenue is crowded with people. So getting a bleacher seat for a Cubbie game can be a small fortune. Chicago is by far one of those places that makes me smile, that gives me a craving for Old Style Light, that makes me ecstatic to wander the city streets all day, that says it is okay to shop until you drop, that even though I am looking up at skyscrapers all day my neck is feeling just fine…could I gush even more? Well, yes!
A pal of mine, Erin Montgomery, was also born in this fabulous town. We were longing for summer in Chicago back in May. We made a few calls and within days our tickets were booked for a long weekend in July. Arriving at 2am into Midway airport my friend Jim Simmons played us Skip Haynes’ song ‘Lake Shore Drive’ on the car ride home, yes a bit cheesy, but not for a d
Quick update this one as there's not a lot to tell you.I did a 6 mile trail route on Tuesday. On Wednesday I worked late and wandered downstairs about 7:30pm feeling hungry. I rustled myself up a bowl of pasta and ate in, only to remember I'd not gone for a run! So, that put an end to the run on Wednesday, quite by accident. Eating just before a run makes me (and I'm sure everyone else) feel awful. On Thursday I went out and did a little further than planned to make up. I did 9 miles. On Friday my usual gym session, then on Saturday I did 10 miles trail, including 1000ft of ascent. It was also a hot day about 26/27C. I made a point of running always in direct sun when possible. I would deliberately move out of the way of the shade! I'm trying to get used to suffering in the sunshine, since shade will be in short supply in the desert!Today I had planned to do a 15 mile route, but first I took my Son to Cariba Creek, the water park at Alton Towers theme park. We stayed for
Hey, y'all!!!Waiting for a new post, aren't you? Well...here it is :)I'll try to make it short and put some more visual material :)About my last weekends...2 weeks ago I went back to Zarasai to help my dad fix his car (there were some huge problems with the engine) so he could go to the hospital on Monday by himself. It all went fine and I also got to have several beers with my old friends I didn't see for a while (thanks for great evening, dudes).Then...a weekend after that one. My dad was still in a hospital, so i gave a ride for my mom to see her sister. I changed my cars oil and air filters there and watched my friend Darius finishing up a couple of tires (enjoy the videos). Next day (night) we went fishing, but we didn't catch much. And the morning after that I went to the biggest and probably nastiest market place in Lithuania - Gariunai. Yep, it's still the same: crap all over the place... :)Then several evenings with beer and pool balls.Last weekend I got myself...a kite!
Whoa! It is the weekends again - how fast! This is definitely different from the one I had last week cos my detox is over and I’m feeling alot better Well, I mentioned in my earlier travel post about the possibility of Las Vegas in our December vacation and it seems to be materializing!
While checking out an overview on our trip, I can’t help but take note of Orlando and the popular theme parks. I know Clayton will love to visit Disney World and the other fun theme parks but we just have to put this on hold first. But I will keep in mind the discount Disney tickets should we plan for a trip to Orlando in the future. The best thing about these discount tickets is that they can be booked on line and basically it is so convenient to get all the Orlando night show tickets and theme park tickets via Orlandofuntickets.com. Save time on queuing and along the way, you get to save some bucks for other things.

I always expect to be able to enjoy some quality time with my paints at the weekend, but it rarely seems to work out that way. This weekend is turning out to be no exception, though with tomorrow being a holiday, perhaps there is still hope! However, I did manage to get out in the garden to do a bit of sketching. Pen, ink and Inktense pencils (which I'm getting to like more and more, by the way). technorati tags: drawing, sketches, pen+and+ink, inktense, garden
