During one SharePoint migration project I had problem with document versions comments. I needed some way to set these in my code. As I didn't found any normal way to do it through SharePoint API I worked out something I call dirty hack. But it works.
The Idea
As API seemed more and more hopeless in my context I checked out what's going on in database and I discovered that I can set those version comments also after importing all the data. My hack affected only two tables in SharePoint database and after solving some mysteries I got everything work as expected.

Just a day ago, while I was discussing one of the project with another outsourcing team lead in India (who is leading team of 100+ programmer and developer) he asked me if I know all the codenames of the SQL Server releases so far. I knew only two code names SQL Server 2005 - Yukon and SQL Server 2008 - Katmai. Once our meeting was over, I could not stop thinking about this question. I search online and very easily I found answer to this question on wikipedia.

About a month ago it became known that a set of musical games for the Xbox Rock Band 360 will include wired accessories in the form of guitars, while versions for PS3 players awaited wireless competitors. 1 UP reported updated information: at the time of the sales Guitar Hero Rock Band 3 and accessories for the PS3 also will be wired. The problem, according to representatives of RedOctane, is that the company had to create its own wireless communications solution for PS3 and gaming accessories, as the Bluetooth module used in the PS3, suitable only for Sixaxis.
In one of my classes, my instructor gave us a fun activity (which had a point, but I forget what that was :p , but anyway...) where she got from somewhere, in which you're shown only the first half of some famous quotes. One of the many blessings my wife and I have received from my starting this blog is that today, she is again reading the Bible.
You see, as some of you might have known from my previous posts from way back, my wife comes from a Roman Catholic background but stopped believing in the church from a good time back.
So it was quite surprising that just last week, she told me that she’d like to start reading the Bible again and learn more. She also told me that she’d like me to lead in Bible study.

WinMerge is an Open Source visual text file differencing and merging tool for Win32 platforms. It is highly useful for determing what has changed between project versions, and then merging changes between versions.
When you select two documents to be compared, you’ll get visual differencing and merging of text files. The documents are located in different panes so you can quickly see both.
For instance, if you download an open source application form the internet and then you make some modifications in the code, this application can quickly help you find those modifications comparing them with the original files. I use it also with office documents. It’s really cool!
